I'm still trying to calm down. They tried to bring modern sensibilities to the story and it comes off all wrong (in my opinion). The cheeky, winky-winky stuff is bizarre, and they made Anne out to be such a klutz rather than a reserved, thoughtful, poised lady. 
 

I googled "trailer for new Persuasion film is so bad" and a bunch of funny (but also really sad) fan reactions came up. Everyone is sad and mad. @confusedheart is afraid to even watch the trailer.

 

I'll probably be watching just to see how Henry Golding is as Mr Elliot , but otherwise I feel like you:

I will go and read the reactions.

When I read that there is a new Persuasion, US adaptation, I already had my doubts that it will reach the quality of the British ones but I was curious. I will watch the 1971 version (mini series) that I found on You Tube. Just how I watch every Jane Eyre versions available on You Tube/internet, I will do the same with Persuasion.

They butchered the story chingu. Persuasion was Jane Austen's most mature work and also one that was more "autobiographical" than her other books. Looks like the producers didn't even read the book.

And it REALLY annoys me that they aren't even speaking proper British English.

Dongsaeng, I like Yoongi for his cool and savage personality. He's the most easy member for me to understand. He has a certain sensitivity that shines through his personality and character, and that I find easy to relate to. I also find him very talented and hard working.

Unfortunately he seems to be highly misunderstood by a lot of people - even fans. I think people who share certain similarities with his personality, are the only ones who really understand and accept him for who he is.

In my opinion, he's the coolest kid on the BTS block.

My favorite is hands down the 2006 mini-series. The Michael Fassbender one didn't do the book justice in the same way unfortunately.

@the_sweetroad I watched the trailer. hated it. I hate Scarlett Johansson as Anne. They have ruined it completely. I like Suga's eyes, if that makes any sense. Makes him pretty unique.
