The K-drama fever has gone a long way from how it was in the past decades. Thanks to the rise of social media and the birth of more streaming platforms, people all over the globe now get to consume endless content, even from up-and-coming Korean celebrities.

But once upon a time in Hallyu history, years before Kim Seon Ho, Park Seo Joon, and Park Bo Gum began dominating our Instagram feeds, there were oppas who had already succeeded in making us fall hard with their bewitching presence on-screen. Here is a list of male leads who will reaffirm our belief that first love never dies.

Hyun Bin

No other actor ages like fine wine as much as Hyun Bin does. Some of his earliest successes include landing the lead role in the high-rating 2005 series My Name is Kim Sam Soon and starring in the 2006 romance movie A Millionaire’s First Love. A decade and a half later, he still managed to make us swoon over Captain Ri in Crash Landing On You.

Aside from acting, your favorite Korean actors are also *thriving* in other fields like modelingfilm directing, and photography. Some of them also became businessmen, and they put up their own entertainment agencies. It's not unusual for a Korean celeb to star in dramas and movies and handle his own label at the same time—in fact, many of them are venturing into this nowadays. We already wrote about K-pop idols who are also CEOs, so here's an actor version just for you!

Korean Actors Who've Established Their Own Entertainment Agencies

7. Hyun Bin

In 2012, Hyun Bin partnered with his former labelmate, Shin Min Ah, and established O& Entertainment after he was discharged from the military. Come 2016, he led VAST Entertainment with his mentor CEO Kang Kun Taek. Three years later, it was acquired by Kakao M, but Hyun Bin remains as an actor under this label. Some of the actors that are handled by VAST include Start-Up star Stephanie Lee and Extraordinary You's Kim Ji In.

*** Online shopping platforms Shopee and Lazada are pulling out all the stops and getting the biggest names in Asian showbiz for their campaigns. Jackie Chan for Shopee & HB for Lazada - hahaha - Yes, seeing both of these ads playing on my TV here in my side from time to time. Jackie Chan sporting Shopee's signature colours and busting a move to the tune of Baby Shark in the 30-sec-long ad (with some kungfu moves thrown in, of course). While Hyun Bin is all in a suit and channeling major Crash Landing On You vibes as he orchestrates a flurry of parcel airdrops in Lazada's video. Kung Fu legend or dashing oppa? Of course, I love the latter! :kaching1:
