I have no time to watch yet but this one is so aweeeeee !

Ha ha ha. How did JH manage to look this dorky? It's so shocking after seeing him as a sharp and suave KPJ a few months ago.

because I wouldn't take pills I don't know what will do to my body from a stranger. lol.

They went for the medical trial so it means they were not super worried about the health consequences at the first place. I think being escorted to an unknown shady place was much more scarier.

If it was me I won't even voluntarily blindfold myself to travel in a stranger's vehicle for 6-7 hour leave alone consuming the pills.

From drama's logic JC thinks it is completely normal to get super-human strength for a few minutes with the 'health supplement'.

he stole them because he may have known what they were for, since the news report advertised about SF-3

But how can a person let his child consume unapproved drugs? How did he even know what the medicine was really meant for? If he dared to sneak a bottle for his child then why would he gift it to JC? Won't he keep extra supply for the kid?

Finally I got to watch episode 5!

1. I really think what the couple lacks is proper communication. Is obvious at least to us that they do care about each other. Is the way they put it across.

SJ is immersed in her dream and nothing wrong I feel. She couldn’t see that MW was just making her feel good by saying her novel will be published. She really thinks that she finally got someone who appreciates her writing. And it doesn’t help that MW keeps stroking her emotions and give her false hopes about her writing.

The family wants their family members to root for them and their dreams but they simply don’t know how to do it properly.

2. I like the scenes btw JC and YD hahahaha! YD does care about his health :) that’s nice to know. ‘Fight like a mummy’ ‘were u born in the year of the leech’! Hahaha!

3. That ceo and the big bodyguard. All it takes is a blow from the bodyguard. Why is he so afraid of the ceo?

4. ZD ceo said to JC, he will compensate him. I really think he could be making up for the ‘bad things’ he did to JC 11 years ago. Like what @Prettysup pointed out before.

5. I love all the conversation between Father and Daughter. Jc is always so clueless haha! And that ‘revenge’ on Sang A’s mother’s Car was so wellllll deserved! I would have bend the car! So irritating.

6. Ok, can someone tell me who was the person spying MW!

I think that to go to those lengths, the guy must have been desperate to save his daughter... even if his gesture could worsen her situation. It's in line with the "bad papa" theme: a father who tries anything to protect his daughter. I know this sounds idiotic because no father with a logical mind would do this, but perhaps he had money problems and couldn't let his daughter get proper treatment. In a way it reminded me of something that happened on the drama "Duel". It was about a single dad who was a detective who had a young daughter with a deadly disease and gets his daughter in a trial program but eventually she's kidnapped. (This drama was about human clones, tho). I wonder if the dead guys' daughter will be tempted to take a blue pill and what is going to happen to her since she's ill... and if director Park will try to shut her mouth as well as her mom's, who are protesting in front of the police because they're looking for their dead dad/husband. And maybe they'll be taken to the lab. As for the bottle given to JC, maybe he didn't want to get incriminated? I mean, if they found out that a bottle of medicine was taken, I think they would have investigated the test subjects first to try to get a lead on who could have taken it. It could be possible this guy also partecipated in a previous stage of the trial and that's when he got the first box, but since they kept on doing tests on the pill, it changed with time and perhaps the one JC has is less strong than the one his daughter has. Maybe JC has the "previous" version of it while the dead guy was tested with the "new" one and those were the results.

And in case anyone is wondering about the significance of the title of the second OST :

Oh Hyuk releases an emotional OST ‘Golden Goat’ for ‘Bad Papa’

In the music video, there are scenes which show the leading role Ji Cheol (Jang Hyuk) in a boxing competition. It also shows the hardships that he is going through in his life.

The lyrics are about the person suffering from a lot of things in his life, that he is so tired and wants to give up. It uses ‘Golden Goat‘ which loses his master as a metaphor to say that someone is losing his direction in life.

I did but I realized I like seeing JH (specially with Shin Eun Soo) in this drama so I've picked this again. I'm fast forwarding the boring bits though like MW-SJ, baby monster CEO and detectives(not actors' fault).

It could be possible this guy also partecipated in a previous stage of the trial and that's when he got the first box, perhaps the one JC has is less strong than the one his daughter has.

How did the guy even know that the pills are not mere 'health supplements'?

I don't think it is even possible to steal from the lab. If they knew one bottle is missing then they would have been frantically searching for it. They would have investigated all of the test subjects (wether they have passed or failed) and the staff. But baby monster CEO and lab people are relaxed.

I believe it was the first time for the zombie guy. They won't mix earlier subjects with the new ones. Moreover all of the previous subjects who were exposed to the drug are dead.

In my opinion the guy who was in dire need of money passed the test and took his $$$ and pills but he didn't think about consuming it so he randomly handed to it JC. After that he was again handed another bottle by the pharma company(as second phase of test) but he again did not swallow it and left the bottle at his home. Afterall it was just a 'health supplement'. Seeing that the subject survived even after having two bottles, the CEO's people abducted him. They thought he either overcame the drug or he is lying. So they forcibly injected the medicine into his system which clarified that he actually lied. They were carefully choosing the subjects having  deadly disease for the test,  so that in case they die their illness would be blamed for the death.

Does it imply JC's disease is not life-threatning?

I think if pills were supposed to be for the girl then she would have been consuming them but it looked to me like she was just holding the bottle as the last memory of her father. Maybe he told her that he got the money due to those pills. He let his daughter play with them because he thought they were just health supplements. He was paid 30,000$(I think) which is quiet good amount. I think he used that money to cure the kid who is recovering now.

I finally finished watching ep 9 to 12 with subs. Frankly speaking, I didn't think much about the blue pills till I read all your comments here...got me thinking more..

I am more inclined to believe that the above happened. The guy who was deemed fit for the trial was given 2 bottles to consume before they called him back to do a check up. He gave one of the bottles to JC , seeing how disappointed he was for not being chosen. Since he still had one bottle with him, he probably think it was alright to pass one to JC. I don't think  the bottle was meant for his kid.  I may be wrong..just a guess. But I also agree with you that the ones he was given and eventually killed him are the stronger version..

I am just wondering, did he have the brain tumour before the trial or it developed as a side effect to the drug?

Does JC's body react differently to the drug and he is "special"?

As for the relationship between SJ and MW, after watching the scene at the restaurant when MW mentioned about him the first kiss and seeing SJ's awkward reaction to that , I don't think she likes him at all. Otherwise she will be smiling shyly upon hearing that. She is just thrilled to be a writer, to fulfil her dream.

I get this feeling that the main character of the other novel she was writing about is her husband.

Oh yes , this is also possible.. So he had the brain tumour before the trial!   So if a healthier person like JC took the pills, he will gain superhuman strength?

Me too!! I love all the scenes between father and daughter! I like how Jc behaves differently in front of YS...so sweet and dorky..

His tone of voice changes.

I wonder how he would react if he finds out that Yong Dae is going after his daughter...hahaha! More punches?

Not like this. I think they are only accepting the subjects whose illness doesn't stop them from being the worthy subjects but which is life threatening at the same time.

Jeez! Will we see a father-in-law Hyukie then? Why not? CTH has already played  a grandpa ten years ago. He needs to compete with him at every aspect.:tounge_wink:

Oh really?? Haha, I only remembered that in Ep 9, she told MW that the title of her novel is " You who came spilling blood". So I thought it's JC..haha..

So maybe it is about her , a highshool girl then, who met JC, already a boxer and their life story.

Why did she even let MW reminisce about their romantic past. She is not feeling uncomfortable in his company at all. Hope the writer comes up with something better.

Yes!! MW creeps me out... that actor is good in this role and his jealous girlfriend too..they are a perfect match. SJ cannot even remember her past with him...it goes to show how much or little he means to her. Please leave JC and SJ alone. Let them resolve their own problems with the help of their daughter. It is much sweeter this way.
