Ok, so does anyone who actually read the novel can confirm YX ordered it to happen? because i am getting another version here that CE followed him, her brother tried to attack YX and YX cut off his arms and then TOLD his man to send both her brother and her home unharmed since he is injured but because those men hate the Wei (their families got torture/r*pe/kill by Wei) they inflicted their hate on CE. I really hope the drama will follow this route instead because it make more sense. I know YX become cruel and evil but honestly I don't think he will go soooo far as to purposely hurt CE (I am talking about physically, emotionally is another matter lol) I can see him not caring about innocent lives to achieve his ultimate goal but to intentional hurt a girl who loves him is too much...If the drama does go this way, I am very disturbed and upset...hopefully, this is just the preview cut out this way to hype up conversation

 

did not read the book, but going of weibo comments. Apparently in the book YX's sister was raped to death (?) so he purposely sends CE and YS back with soldiers that he knows will treat them badly. What I am seeing is that YX inspires the attack. Maybe someone that read the book can give you a better explanation. I was asking about it earlier too. Too horrible.

I read that in the novel he told them to do it, but it seems like he didnt in the drama. However, I don't consider YX a stupid person. And I think anyone knows what would happen in those times during war if you give a woman to enemy soldiers. Especially a princess. So I don't think he is blameless on this. 

idk or i guess maybe he thought he could trust them or didn't really think about it...just feeling like he did this part ordering for them to be sent back and leaving the rest to fate since they are his enemies' children.

in a way, how could you not lose your soul after seeing all the heads of your family in tiny boxes and your mother die in front of you. Anyone would have PTSD and literally go crazy

I haven't watched the latest episodes yet,but I finally found Chu Qiao's theme song: 原上草 which means Grass on the Field. So far there's no video yet just audio

Is it me or does this drama have a lot of songs, more so than other dramas (not that i am complaining since i enjoy most of the songs)  We have one for each major characters, CQ have another one... plus one for CQ and YWY. I have all of it on rotation playing on my phone lol

Hello everyone, I have been lurking here for quite some time and just can't help to post something. PA is the first drama that made me sign up and post to a forum ever. It's taking over my brain, blame it to our otp. LGX in god of war for me is okay but his portrayal of YWY just got me melting like crazy 

I really want to express my gratitude to all of you chinese native speakers who have been translating things from various sources, especially @monchoo and @mundane9 who have been so kindly translating lovely chapters from the novel. It's really a pleasure to read all of you guys' insights in this discussion.

To @40somethingahjumma, you dont't know how much I adore  your comments. They are always very well written and it's like I'm reading an essay analysing international relations and all its power play! lol.

She was not raped to death. She will become sinister in the later part. Lee Qin is a good actress. I think her later part in the show will deliver an interesting dimension to the drama.

I believe mrsyooknit is talking about YX's sister, the one that is pregnant and died by arrow. In the novel, she was r*pe to death but the drama removed that and apparently (just reading some weibo comments) the novel is a LOT darker with a lot of that happening... I am glad at least the drama removed most of it...

I am looking forward to Li Qin's change too. Hopefully, she becomes a lot smarter as well.

@BreezeC Yeah, You are right about what happened with YX, CE and Yuan Song. Basically Yuan Song tried to assassinate YX and stabbed him with a poisonous knife pretty severely, then YX chopped YS' arm off as self defense. YX then ordered a small number of men to escort CE and YS back to Wei safely. Because YX was badly injured and all of his servants were preoccupied with taking care of him, the task of escorting YS/CE randomly fell to a group of Northern Yan men who hate Wei. Chu Qiao ran into them raping CE and killed them, then she escorted CE/YS back to Wei. So yeah, YX never ordered his men to hurt CE/YS; he let YS go even though he tried to kill him. The way CE's rape occurred was truly unfortunate and it led her to misdirect all of her hatred to Chu Qiao (then spent the rest of her life trying to kill CQ). I don't know how the drama will portray this part of the story, but I hope they stick to the novel.

We saw in the preview YWH fighting with CQ. Maybe she will kill him then?

Has anyone compiled the ost from PA? And where to download them? 

This thread is moving very fast. When I left last night it's on page 199. Now is page 208 already.  we can expect more angst for the next few episodes. I hope they can cover all the story when this drama ends.

Also Breeze about the songs, I think some dramas do have personal songs for the main leads. I remember Chusen did that too. I really liked BiYao's song so I remember this. I do think the production behind PA does really well on promoting a lot of characters, even minor characters on their weibo.

Just finish ep 43 - 44...RAW.. lots of part i dont understand but i still watch it while waiting for the sub to release. It's really hurt to see the Princess Chu Er trying her best to protect Yan Xun while Yan Xun totally didn't even look at her. To Yan Xun, all of them no longer their friends but enemies. And i can't believe it that Yan Xun really just leave the Xiuli troops to die in the battle. I am so disappointed. 

 

Can i say that ep 45 is the episode where Chu Qiao leave Yan Xun??

Can anyone able to tell me where is CQ's bell??? It no longer attached at YWY's sword.

It will make more sense to the audience if they follow how YWY's character is like in the novel.  That way YX and CQ's rebellion and not trusting him will make alot of sense.

YWY is looks good and likeable but he is not 100% perfect either. His loves to CQ somehow taking some part to what happening.

Oh ya. I thgt Yuan Song's. My mistake. Yes in the novel, YX's sis was raped to death. The novel is definitely much more darker with lots of blood shed.
