@jongski, my guess, is that they will start filming for The Good Wife after filming is complete for GBMB.

I agree, he is a terrific actor!

News bites: April 23, 2016

by sassychef | April 23, 2016 | 2 Comments

After a two-year hiatus from the small screen, Jeon Seok-ho (Misaeng) is confirmed to return to tvN as a prosecutor in The Good Wife. Jeon’s first breakout role came in the 2014 movie, Intruders, then went on to win over audiences playing Kang So-ra’s douchey manager in Misaeng. Jeon also has three movies — Lucid Dream, Kim Seon-dal, and Familyhood — that are slated to premiere in theaters later this year. [Osen]

Tense stares and prison meetings in tvN’s The Good Wife

Here we go, first stills from tvN’s remake of American TV drama The Good Wife, which is a series I’m anticipating for its standout cast, headed by A-list film star Jeon Do-yeon (The Shameless, My Dear Enemy) in her first drama in 11 years (the last being Lovers in Prague).

The drama centers around a woman whose successful prosecutor husband Yoo Ji-tae (Healer, The Tenor – Lirico Spinto) is caught up in a corruption scandal and sent to prison. She returns to the workforce as lawyer for the first time in years after quitting upon marriage, and ends up at a law firm headed by Yoon Kye-sang (Last); the story follows her rediscovering herself and coming into her own as she juggles career and family while becoming the sole breadwinner.

In these stills, Yoo Ji-tae is already wearing his prison uniform in his tension-filled scene with Jeon Do-yeon, while Yoon Kye-sang looks sharp (and rather sharkish) in his crisp suit. One big question mark for me regarding this series is how faithful of a remake it will be: On the upside, the original is chock-full of smart, well-written material, but on the downside, how do you satisfyingly condense a seven-season series into a 16-episode miniseries?

Charismatic Battle Between “The Good Wife” Actors Has Begun

The much anticipated drama “The Good Wife” has released some preview stills of actors Jeon Do Yeon, Yoo Ji Tae, and Yoon Kye Sang looking fierce.

In the photos, Jeon Do Yeon is maintaining a charismatic gaze as she looks into Yoo Ji Tae’s eyes. There seems to be a strong tension flowing between the two characters, and viewers are very curious of how the story will play out.

Yoon Kye Sang looks quite sharp with his clean suit and chic hairstyle, just as he should be playing the CEO of a law firm.

The staff of the drama stated, “The actors’ charisma took over the entire set as soon as we yelled action, completely silencing us. Their acting skills as well as their ability to pay attention to little details were perfect. They have made their characters come to life. You can look forward to a charismatic battle between the actors.”

“The Good Wife” is Korea’s remake of the American TV series of the same name. It deals with a woman who is forced to go back to being a lawyer after her husband gets caught in a government scandal. She learns to find her true self as she dives back into work.

It will air on July 8 after “Dear My Friends” finishes its run.
