I went to read the comments... and the comment section is a blast and funny too... People keep on leaving a comment and the page keep on refreshing with new comments every second!!  If you noticed, there's a lot of whale emoticon being abused by the fans.. It's because Johnny's real name (Jingyu) sounds similar to whale in Chinese

With regard to Johnny and Zhouzhou's moving on their own, that could not be helped. Even couples in real life have to find their own hobby/profession/achievements. I will be missing them together, I miss them already!, but again, that's how life goes.

I am happy with their success and for their relation with each other, hoping them to be best friends always! (Or more than that... LOL).

Btw, is that Zhouzhou's new song that he sings in the video?

Some wondered about the 8 years separation gap. Actually, the author did not really explain deeply why BLY decides to leave GH and what exactly happened during the 8 years. Personally I felt the author could elaborate more on why BLY made the decision but I guess she could be wanting to leave some room for readers own interpretation. Nonetheless, I thought the 8 year separation is quite a good plot device and I must say I enjoy reading BLY's and GH's interactions 8 years later just as much in the first part. Although they have matured, but when it comes to each other, they remained impulsive and at times childish. As mentioned by other posters, BLY also became more assertive and expressive of his love for GH in the second part but of course, still have semblance of sanity compared to GH 

Just to elaborate more on the reason the author gave in the novel for the separation:

The accident is caused by Guyang (he tempered with the car brakes) who meant to kill BLY as he thinks BLY will only bring harm to GH but did not expect GH got on the same car. From the accident, BLY realised how vulnerable is GH, in his heart, GH is forever healthy and young and he will never lose him. But when he saw GH covered in blood and seriously injured in the accident, he became scared and worried and GH's well-being is at the top of his mind and nothing else matters. It does not matter whether they stay together as long as GH remains safe. Hence after seeing GH is out of danger at the hospital, he told Guyang to tell GH that he is dead and left. The next scene is BLY screaming into the night at a bridge "I love you, GH!" 3 times and "you must continue to live on and live well!".

After running into BLY 8 years later, GH immediately flew to Hong Kong to confront Guyang (who is running a very successful business in HK). GH did not blame Guyang for the car brakes as he's the one who suffered but he wanted to know exactly what happened and why they hide the fact that BLY joined the military. Guyang told him that it was BLY who told him that to tell him that he was dead but Guyang admitted that after seeing how devastated GH was after learnt of BLY's "death", told GH BLY went abroad instead and contacted BLY's relatives (including BLY's dad) to collaborate and hide the truth from GH. Upon GH's questioning, he admitted that GH's dad knew about BLY's enlistment and that in return, GH's dad promised BLY to leave GH alone and let him be and not force him to join the army. It was not stated in the novel if BLY made any promises of never to see GH again or that kind of stuff. In the confrontation, Guyang mentioned that isn't it good that they broke off early as given their temperament it is unlikely they'll stay together. But GH told him that is for him to decide, if nothing good comes out from his relationship with BLY, he's willing to accept the consequences, but they should not decide for him.

Later on, BLY explained to GH that he has to leave him despite he really really did not want to was because someone (should be referring to Guyang) couldn't accommodate him (BLY) and he was really afraid the person will use GH's life to threaten him and GH's safety is the most important to him. He added that by joining the army he hoped that his father will not give GH any more pressure.

Actually during the 8 years BLY also misses GH a lot, besides sleeping with GH's school uniform throughout, he also kept the gloves GH gave him during Christmas. There's also once during the 8 years he requested GH's dad to allow him to visit the tunnel GH dug between their rooms there and sat in there and cried.

 

Just a small note on GH, BLY and Guyang relationship:

The relationship between the 3 is very complex. It is not obvious in part 1 especially Guyang attempt to kill BLY, but later in the second part of the novel, it was quite obvious that Guyang was also attracted to BLY. But he just care more about GH then. In the novel, GH and Guyang were said to look very much alike but GH told BLY that the key difference is that Guyang's personality is darker. He explained to BLY the cut on his waist was caused by Guyang. When they were young, they fought over a piece of melon and Guyang lost and just snatched a knife and stabbed GH. Nonethess, among all their cousins, the 2 remained the closest amongst the cousins because both are on the same wavelength though Guyang being the darker one.

The tension between the 3 especially in the second part is always very complex - BLY hates Guyang (for the accident and separation between him and GH) but also jealous of his closeness to GH; GH is close to Guyang but at the same time jealous of Guyang (he still remembers how BLY says Guyang is more handsome  ); Guyang is attracted to BLY but at the same time also angry himself for this and at the same time being protective and jealous of his cousin.

 

Thought I shall also attempt to give a more complete summary to my earlier posting on the events leading to them getting back together (part 1 of 2):

They first met when BLY accompany Yang Meng to a district police station to pass some documents to Yang Meng's colleagues (Yang Meng is a policeman) and GH went with his AGM (Yajing) to look for the deputy police chief there on business matters. BLY saw GH first and both were stunned to see each and all sorts of emotions came up but both remained composed and BLY went up and give GH a hug (it was described as those impersonal greeting hug). And probably upset at BLY just disappearing without a word 8 years ago, pulled Yajing next himself and introduce her as BLY's future sis-in-law. BLY was disappointed but did not show it. When asked by GH, BLY did not reveal that he is now in the military and just lied he's some senior management of some overseas company. After some bantering, they parted after Yang Meng hurried BLY to leave. Yang Meng asked BLY why he did not tell GH he's in the military, BLY just say he'll explain later on if they have time. In the car, GH remained silent tapping at the steering wheel, then suddenly slammed his fist against the steering wheel. Despite working with him so many years, this was the first time Yajing noticed GH being so emotional and GH started the car and sped all the way back. Just a note, although Yajing secretly loves GH, there's nothing between them despite working with each other for so many years. But GH cares enough for Yajing to matchmake her later on with another guy.

They next met at a convention centre when GH's company held it's annual D&D there and BLY's unit held a celebratory dinner there as well. GH set this strange policy of hiring (capable and beautiful) women only and they of course went crazy (they are your typical career women who immerse themselves in work normally) after seeing the bunch of military guys who were all in their uniforms (especially they are the elite group - pilots) next to them and vice versa. BLY was nominated (being the best looking of all and the higher ranking one) to approach the girls next whether they would like to hold their dinner together (sort of a dating session). BLY went and saw GH at the centre of the hall, u-turned and lied to his men, they refused but unlucky for him, the ladies has the same thought and went to approach the guys. GH went to hide in the toilet but decided he cannot stay in the toilet for long and decide to quietly leave the venue and explain later. So coincident, he ran into GH at the washing basin. GH was stunned to see BLY in uniform and BLY was thinking of how to explain himself. GH straightaway angrily questioned if BLY joined the military because of him and BLY denied it and the quarrel escalated into a fight (my guess is that all GH's pent up frustrations just boiled over and BLY was also upset that GH has got himself a girlfriend) until it attracted the attention of their respective staff. The guys helped to separate both of them. After trading insults they both left. This is when GH immediately flew to HK to confront Guyang on what exactly happened after the accident.

They next meet when BLY was selected to head a R&D project and GH's company, Hai Yin  tech pte ltd. bidded for the project. GH first sent a staff over for negotiations, after being rejected (BLY told them staff although their company has a good track record he finds their GM's practice of hiring females only dubious), he personally went to look for BLY. Over tea, he told BLY he will demonstrate that his company is serious in working with them and he is not a frivolous person. After discussing about the project for hours, BLY asked GH how has he demonstrated that he is not a frivolous person, GH replied that he did as he did not once made any advances towards BLY throughout the discussion  They next went for dinner and GH ordered a lot of dishes and reminded BLY how he once bought a variety of breakfast for him. BLY ends up footing the bill which is a lot. Then GH made BLY to bring him to his dorm. When he saw how untidy the dorm was and the junk food (instant noodles etc.) he can't helped but felt like scolding BLY for neglecting himself but he kept silent. When GH touched the pillow which contains his school uniform, BLY shouted to him to leave it alone afraid that GH will discover the uniform beneath. Later on, one of BLY's subordinate came to bring BLY dinner, GH told him BLY has eaten but BLY just took the dumplings over. The dumplings is made of a filling which BLY disliked and GH told the subordinate so but BLY insisted that his taste has changed and forced himself to eat it. GH then left but took not of the subordnate (jealousy at work  )
