Popular Post MoOnLoVeRz
dyosangmgatamad Okay, so here’s my take (if they won’t follow the novel) on the whole SoWook and SoSoo dynamic Soo became infatuated with Wook because he’s so caring and gentlemanly to her, and with all that she experienced in her life as Go Ha Jin and with her sudden transportation to Goryeo, she’s still very vulnerable so having someone to look at her that way is refreshing. Our Wang So falls for her first (slowly but surely at that), so of course there would come the bouts of jealousy in his part (omo I’d loooove to see a jelly Wang So❤️). He’d struggle with his feelings tho and I bet he’d be feeling all vulnerable and afraid because like his parents, Hae Soo might not accept his love and instead push him away too (especially since she’s infatuated with Wook). But then again, Hae Soo’s the only one who treated him normally and she’s not scared of him anymore so yeah. Soo will eventually fall for So but I bet she’d be confused at first and go all “aniya, aniya, this can’t be, I like Wook and not So, So and I are just friends” but ofc she can’t deny it forever wahahahaha! Soo’s loveline with Wook is an innocent one, the puppy love-kind of thing wherein you fall quickly and strongly but which lasts only for a while. She falls for ALL THE GOOD that Wook is - him being gentlemanly and kind and thoughtful - but that’s it. It’s a surface-level kind of attraction. Soo’s and So’s romance on the other hand, is a beautiful, passionate one - the one wherein both of you has seen each other in your best and in your worst, wherein you both started off as friends and that is the basis of the attraction between them. She’d fall for ALL that So is - his negatives(brutality, vulnerability, insecurity, etc) and at the same time his positives(thoughtfulness, bravery, respect, etc). It is a slow-burning romance that stems from friendship, and the one which is true and long-lasting, and that is indeed beautiful. Another thing: there was a solar eclipse during the 1st ep, right? During an eclipse, the moon covers the sun so the only thing visible is the sun’s corona. Here comes the fact that Wook’s name means something about the sun while someone said that So’s name means something about the moon. I bet this means something along the lines of So taking over Wook’s place in Soo’s heart or something. I swear this drama is making me crazy I can’t help these delusional theories popping in my head hahaha. #TeamSoSoo!!

ck1Oz
Just a question since my modus operandi this year seems to be avoiding reading about a drama before it starts. So I don't have any expectations. I've just marathoned ep 1-7 a few days ago. Watchable but the modern music beats and the jarring close ups are a real distraction. However I went to page 1 to read the character descriptions right? Am I watching the same drama as you all? The CD are pretty dark and depressing. Ok reading Wook's description was pretty darn depressing considering how sweet and caring he is now. Reading So's is even worse. And I did read something on this forum- not under spoilers- how he became the 4th king. Then I have watched BBJX. I've never cried as much over a drama as that one. But but but I keep reading about happy romances here. And how HS has the happy option of choosing 2 loves. Didn't the 2 males traumatized her to death (figuratively and literally ) in BBJX and the novel? Is the Kdrama one supposed to be lighter? Or end up with a happ ending? Because otherwise I was going to skip it until ep 14 or 15 comes along. It's just that the posts here make it sound as if it's a typical Kdrama 1st and 2nd lead sort of romance. Where else the impression I ended up from watching BBJX was that the girl just ended up with a helpless love in the end. In fact the whole ending just made my heart hurt. That was the reason why I was avoiding reading spoilers pre airing date. It has taken me years to recover- not quite- where both males in a drama loved the woman but not enough. * shudder *
bebebisous33
@MoOnLoVeRz While Wook means morning sun, So means shining sun. Hae Soo is the moon that's why she is talking to the moon in the episode 7: she is actually talking to herself. To me, her love for Wook will end more or less abruptly, just like in the past with her ex-boyfriend. She will notice that he doesn't keep his promise. She has be lenient towards him because she still saw him as a part of her family. However, she will learn that - either he didn't talk to the king about her after the rain - or he is marrying someone else In the 21st century, she never saw her boyfriend cheating on her. She was trusting him because I can imagine that he was always nice to her and they wouldn't fight. Yet, when she caught him, she was mad and her love for him died. She even resented him. In my opinion, she will feel the same with Wang Wook. Yet, there is a difference between her ex and Wook. The latter had been part of her family which is the reason why she won't be able to forget him entirely. She still will care for him to a certain extent.
Popular Post akai16
Hello chingus. Nice to meet you guys here. I'm new to this soompi. After lurking for years time to time. (Since Nice guy/innocent man) Finally, I design to join and make an account! hehe. I've been a fan of LJG since My girl and King and the Clown. But I must admit that I didn't watch every dramas/movies of him. I watch Arang and love it! tho it didn't make me feel like this. Like I have to see a new spoiler everyday and counting the day HS will love WS back. The level of this obsession is too strong. WS is the LJG for me. (Lol It doesn't make sense at all, right?) I feel attach to him with his mask, his scar, his long hair and also K-H-N. Ofc I'm a SoSoo shipper and I start following this drama bc of LJG. But I must say KHN is so goood with his character. And his real personality is just soooo adorable. I watch V-app and can't help but like him. Both of the male leads look good with IU. After watching LJG playing and being oppa around IU I want him to have a younger GF. But don't have to be hurry, JG oppa. I'm so excited for tmr and the day after that. Hehe the next eps will be awesome! Finally, SoSoo ship starts sailing. I love to read all of your analysis. My english might not be really good. So I'm sorry If it's hard to understand. I just want someone to talk about this drama with. And all my friends are watching Moon Light. Lol
Popular Post briseis
5 hours ago, jerboa83 said: I wonder where they're going with this... Some history pills, first. As far as I know, Gwangjong was a great ruler, who strengthened the central power by wiping off the local warlords in the entire empire and introduce fundamental reforms like the meritocratic bureaucracy with exams open to everybody; in the same year (958), he freed the people enslaved after the wars. He appeared to have a strong sense of the role of the individual auto-determination within society (a trait that fits fictional Wang So's personality as shown in the drama)... BUT he was remembered also as a ruthless sovereign, capable of killing his own family members when they opposed his ascend to power and his political choices. It seems to me that he had a pretty ahead-of-his-time attitude to things and we might even say quite a "modern" political view (compatible with his character in the drama... kudos to the writer), but he also had a very merciless, "medieval" way of achieving his goals (this too compatible with his dark side shown in the first episodes). Not the typical protagonist for a romance... However, I'm really interested in the story also for this specific reason: if they don't edulcorate it for narrative purposes, it might be an original and quite off-track take on the genre... Will the writer choose to portrait the female lead's dive into the past as a (at least partial) history-changing event? Kunggeum he... What do you think, @briseis? I'd like to know your opinion on this... I think that it will come down to the assumption that history is linear - Hae Soo is a part of that history, and being so close with so many important historical figures - where basically every single one of them has strong feelings towards her, be it love or hate - it's given she has already set in motion events of immense significance without even realizing it. You mentioned it, didn't you? That Gwangjong is known for some very modern and enlightened policies - that seems like a hint that he must have been influenced by someone, by someone's ideas of freedom and equality. That's why I think it is NOT ABOUT HAE SOO CHANGING HISTORY, BUT ABOUT HER HELPING TO CREATE HISTORY, because you can't change history only create it. SHE IS THE PERSON WHO HELPED CREATE GWANGJONG'S LEGEND AND GREATNESS. @bebebisous33 mentioned the problematic of the female lead's name - of course she is in reality GHJ, just like RX is in reality Zhang Xiao, but since throughout the whole story she is referred as RX/HS by everyone, it's simply a matter of clarity and comprehensibility that they are called and referred in the book, series and by others by their Qing/Goryeo names.

Popular Post Amanda Soo
I love how fast this forum is moving ^^ *HUGS* Should have guessed that IU wrote the song she sang for 10th prince... It's so beautiful. Wouldn't it be awesome if IU sings another song just for Wang So's ears? I'm imagining some cuddly scene where they stare up at the moon and then she breaks out into another ballad to soothe his pain. And then he starts tearing and receives healing just by listening to her sweet voice. Also I'm slightly relieved after hearing Jun Ki mentioning multiple times that this drama is not as emotionally heavy as we might have guessed. I'm guessing HS won't meet the same fate as the girl in the Chinese drama, but maybe she will somehow fall into the sea and immediately be transported back to the 20th century. Anyway. ONE MORE DAY GUYS.

Kviewer dislike & rejected to watch MLSHR I think we are done with the K-viewers not liking MLSHR, aren't we? There are so many of us who love and appreciate this drama. I think Jun Ki can feel that too, judging that his IG's followers have increased from 400+K to 750K (as at this morning) within only 3 weeks since the broadcast of MLSHR. This drama is red hot everywhere, so couldn't care less that the Koreans are not loving it. Does domestic ratings really is an indicator of the success of a drama when in fact, the drama has reached and touched wider audiences? I say, l don't mind Koreans having PBG, I say just give LJK to us all.

intanr
Otoke... decided not to watch the drama.... but ended up marathon the whole SUNDAY to watched all the 7th episodes. My only take it have a lot of A-LIST actors and actresses... and too many story plots.., that kind lost focus... hence probably the reason of low rating...but am not gonna go there... . It requires someone who appreciate the history in totality will appreciate the drama....in totality... for me, I ended up crazy searching all the available write up about the history.... and the drama... is not gonna be easy to over turn the drama..it requires literally a different angle... I wanted to root for this drama... hope they would received the fair love from everyone....; am still looking at the wow factor.....
Popular Post hallyus
Can't believe tomorrow is Monday, the fight for the throne will start soon! I replayed the preview for more than 50 times already, trying to figure out what will happen to our Wang So tomorrow... this preview is the longest one and I managed to understand (I made this presumption only if they do put the scenes in the preview on chronological order tho) how the story goes. I'll put it inside the spoiler! So, basically after the birthday party, Wang So seems to get even more uncomfortable with his wound and feels the insecurity around him because the reaction of his brothers at the party. As the rain ritual is coming closer, he even dreamed that people will aggressively react to him in such ways like throwing him with stone and dirt, showing nonacceptance (around 0:08-0:14 (and yes I think it is only a DREAM)) causing him even more hesitant whether he should join the ritual or not (0:30-0:32 we see that he seems to be having SO much thought before finally taking his ritual clothes as we heard the Grand General says that So should be commanding). Also if you watched the long trailer, I think Ji Mong is persuading him to come to the ritual but Wang So still not confident about it. Well, thanks to Hae Soo and her magic spell, he got his confidence back and follows the ritual. The confrontation happens between Wang So and Wang Yo to the point Yo slapped him (HARD), only to find out So's "new" face without his scar. The ritual goes smoothly, far from his fear, the people also accepted him (see the long trailer), and later it rains!!! However, not many people are happy about the rain, in the long trailer, again, Yo is talking angrily on his drenched ritual clothes, doesn't believe that the sky is supporting So. There is also another scene in the long trailer shows Wook reaching out his hand to the rain with kind of regretful face(?), he still wearing the ritual clothes too. So I think this will cause So even fall more deeply to Hae Soo as she successfully encouraging him to face the people.

luci13
Hahahahaha @xiao_baiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii *high5* Oh well, it's unavoidable since we volunteer ourselves to be this dedicated and slightly obsessive possessive with this drama (hold on, are we becoming more like WS now? XD) Agree with you @hiluna that the music arrangement kind of diverting the pleasant watch into annoying experience for those who've got really on nerves with awful song choice. SBS re-edited version is way much BETTER, I'm quite disappointed with how SBS and production team handle this whole thing. But on the positive note, we're able to see more edited/omitted scenes that aired in Youku, S One/Dramafever, and SBS version though kind of makes us working hard twice and thrice to keep up with the episodes hahaha Now that you make a countdown @skxz it feels like it's getting nearer, MONDAY! It's okay being delusional @whyo as that's what keep us sane for Monday to come! XD Welcome to the thread @akai16! We'll be having a far more exciting and crazy discussion here as we're moving to another phase in the storyline by tomorrow! Hope we still can catch up with everyone's post as this thread tend to move faster than you even realize hahahaha
