The shifting of story dynamics.......!! While WW and HS have graced the screen with their sheer gorgeousness and tender love, giving us salivating moments of their background story, this new development may well catapult us to the ecliptic new dawn rise of WS for the top pole position among the princes who may find now their positions precarious. The immediate fall out is 8th Prince . From the picture we see a distressed and slightly distraught 8th ( my coffee-induced brain is zonked ) Also note the costumes... both are alleviated to higher rankings ? Maybe 8 th is in a position to ask for her hand in marriage and is rejected ? credit : owner. ripped off @MoOnLoVeRz Anyway let the new ecliptic dawn arise. We've been mollycoddled for a wee bit too long on the prettiness of K-pop idols ( hence the low rating as some say ? ) Let the princes get their hands dirty fighting for pole positions.... things get precarious as back stabbing, conspiracies, murder, imprisonments, poisoning, harsh punishments, ( history is replete with political shenanigans ) get underway . HS will now have to live with new wisdom and survival instinct as her story moves to a new trajectory. Hope she kills her role with new gumption. WW has now to turn to his base darker self ? He has been too gentle too long. 8th actually possesses some of the fierciest ambitions and is able to galvanise and mobilise a force to win his battle ( I think 9, 10 and 14 are his allies ) So he is a worthy opponent. WS....... ahhh !!! He's the man of the hour...... We'll watch him kiss, bed, charm, kill and strategise his way to the ultimate bitter-sweet end. I am excited ...... are you ? Oh thanks for keeping the pictures coming. Side note....my pc is crashing in suicidal mode.... foreboding ? SIGH !!!
xiao_baiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
@luci13 This drama honestly makes me feel like a crazy woman. Almost every expectation that I have about this drama is always proven wrong lol, and still cuts of scenes always play out differently to how I imagined them haahahha I'm feeling slightly panicked, since it's already time for Episode 8, and I'm like how do we have time for romance AND all the bloodshed, death, tragedy????? Lol I'm going to probably cry at certain points because it's too much for me to handle haha And yes! I can't wait for Episode 8 and 9, and the rest <3

Popular Post bebebisous33
Good morning, chingus! Ready for another long analysis?! Here we go... After reading posts from our beloved @40somethingahjumma and @briseis about Hae Soo and the difference of her behaviour towards Wang Wook and Wang So, I came to realise that we never paid attention to the identity about our heroine: Is she Hae Soo or Hae Jin? While me and briseis commented that Hae Soo was herself with Wang So and less with Wang Wook, @40somethingahjumma saw it a little differently, however this made me realise that we never asked ourselves: Is the heroine Hae Jin or Hae Soo? Let me start from the beginning: Go Hae Jin is introduced as a woman who was faced with many problems in her life (betrayal, cheating, debts) so that she declares: Her choice of words is really interesting because this means, she wants to give up her life, her family and her identity. When she is sent back to the past, she is horrified that her wish has come true. Sure, she doesn't remember that wish as such, but she is shocked to hear that she is trapped in a different body, she has a new name and a new identity. Her first reaction after accepting the event is not to get caught therefore she tries to learn more about Hae Soo. Yet she is still refering to Hae Soo as a different person (she declares to Chae Ryun "There is a different woman inside me!"). This means that she doesn't consider herself as Hae Soo, but still as Hae Jin. That's why she acts like a woman from the 21st century (s. for ex. the incident with Yeon Hwa). She doesn't accept the hierarchical society, the courtesy and the manners from Goryeo. Hae Jin who wanted to forget everything is doing now the opposite; she is trying to be Hae Jin and not forget who she is. She speaks her mind and she also uses a lot of words from the 21st century like f. ex. to get through it, posttraumatic stress, police, cars aso. However, since she is living with the family of Hae Soo's cousin, she is often compared to the former Hae Soo and her first real confrontation is with Wang Wook: "You . Here Wang Wook is not really nice to her, he even adds that he doesn't want her to make his wife worry. Since Hae Soo had said that she didn't want to get caught, she is reminded to be more careful, especially around Wang Wook and his family. In my opinion, that's the reason why Hae Soo will be more careful around Wang Wook. Yet, we can't observe that she is starting behaving like Hae Soo. She still makes mistakes around Wang Wook and his family (beating Eun episode 2; episode 3: the expression "posttraumatic stress"; she grabs Wang Wook's robe in the forest something that is really unusual for a lady from Goreyo). When she made the mistake of beating Eun, she thinks about the consequences and decides to run away. A very important clue shows us that she has still not accepted her new identity because she talks to herself as Hae Jin. Moreover, lady Hae had just told her that she had always considered her as her own daughter hence Hae Jin is reminded of her own mother. She cries because she has finally realised what she has lost: not only her identity and her own body (which was a positive aspect for her) but also her own family. That's why she tries to go back to where she came from. After her failed attempt to go back to the future and escape this nightmare, she comes back to the mansion and she hears from her cousin that they were all worried, since she is part of the family. The word "family" touches a string in her therefore she realises that Hae Jin might have lost her real family, she has gained a new one. From that moment, she seems to accept that part of Hae Soo. She adopts Hae Soo's family. But I would like to add that when Wang So asked her about her name, she didn't hesitate to give Hae Soo as her name to Wang So. The rapidity of her answer is really interesting because it reveals that first she had accepted her name, but confronted with the consequences of her mistake (beating the prince), she stops thinking like that and calls herself again Hae Jin. However, the episode 2 marks the acceptance of Hae Jin's new identity. Nonetheless she still sees herself as Hae Jin and still thinks a lot about her old life: - episode 3: she goes praying to her mother and in that scene, I have the impression, she is thinking of her own mother (the way she describes the role of a mother to Wang So; she is referring to her own mother in my opinion because it is based on her own experiences) - episode 4: she questions the polygamy and you can sense that she values true love and monogamy a lot (conversation with Eun) - episode 6: drinking with Baek Ah, she talks about the future, as if it was something better: more equity and more freedom. We can sense that Hae Jin is really eager not to forget where she comes from and where she belongs. She can't let go of her past life and her identity. She considers the present time in Goryeo as something terrible and describes her past life as something positive. Striking is that she seems to have forgotten the terrible events in her past life: betrayal and the financial struggling due to the debts. The reason is simple. There is this important scene with lady Hae. Hae Soo confines to lady Hae about a dream. Actually, she is telling her about her past and her painful experiences but she can't tell her the truth hence she disguises it as a dream. This scene illustrates that Hae Soo is still thinking about her past and has not given up her identity. However, she has become so close to lady Hae because she is feeling the need to talk about her feelings. Talking about her tragedy makes her feel better. Interesting is lady Hae's answer: Spoiler By calling it a nightmare, she is confirming Hae Soo that her past life was not the reality, but now this is the reality. Her past life was not beautiful and she should forget it as a nightmare, as something ephemeral, short-lived. And that's exactly what Hae Soo does after that conversation. She really forgets her painful past, but she keeps thinking about the positive aspects of her past life. This scene illustrates the importance of lady Hae in Hae Soo's life. She has become her new mother and her new confident so that the latter listens to her. Since she has decided to think only about the positive aspects of her past, she keeps acting like Hae Jin, although she has definitely accepted her new family and name. She starts talking about her own past (making soap, doing the makeup aso). She is still talking like a woman from the 21st century (f. ex. soap) in front of Wang Wook, but she is definitely paying more attention to the vocabulary she uses, like in this scene. Compare this with the scene, where she presents herself to lady Oh: . She is using much more modern expressions (licensed), she talks as if she was trying to get hired. Another example for her attempt to act like Hae Soo and fit in is the poem. She really tries very hard to read the poem on her own, she tries even more to give her answer by using the calligraphy, but she fails. Therefore she uses the emoticon. With the aid of these two examples, we can see that Hae Jin is forcing herself to fit in, because she had been warned from the start, she can't bring trouble to lady Hae. Yet she doesn't try to learn reading. Only when she is at the palace, she is forced to learn reading and writing. So when she is with Wang So, she is acting like Hae Jin the entire time that's why I said that she was more herself because she still considers herself as Hae Jin. First, she was never compared to the former Hae Soo and she feels that since Wang So is a stranger, she doesn't need to pretend to be someone else and to be Hae Soo. She pays less attention to her words, than when she is with Wang Wook. I'll give two examples: Spoiler In this scene. she managed to talk as if Goreyo and the palace were a different place, as if she didn't really belong there. You can see that she is still seeing Goreyo from a modern point of view. Wang So hears from her that talent should matter and not social status. She also points out the importance of a "good boss", a good leader. For Wang So, Hae Jin is Hae Soo, since he has never known the former one, while for Wang Wook, Hae Jin tries to be Hae Soo. Spoiler This scene is interesting because for a short time, she experiences something positive in Goreyo. She is able to see the snow and the sky with the stars. So she can enjoy the beauty of the nature (21st century: pollution) Finally in the last episode, we see the evolution of Hae Jin: She has practically given up the idea of running away Spoiler in the sense, she doesn't try to go back to the future. She has kind of accepted her fate to stay in Goreyo for the rest of her life. Moreover, she is starting thinking that she could be Hae Soo, the one she should be. She is about to stop making a difference between Hae Jin and Hae Soo. Spoiler So in the end, I have the impression, she is little by little giving up the idea to judge Goreyo from a modern point of view. She still did it in the last episode, but I think, she will stop doing it because this will make her much more miserable. As conclusion: Hae Jin who wanted so desesperatly to forget her life can't forget her life in the 21st century. However, she will be forced to change due to the future events. @Yongzura @evie7 @littleloony
itzibitzispider
Now you have been busy .... my sweet little writing bees I finally watched the "last" 2, too ... my instant thought after HSs wrist cutting ... "She can't marry ANY of the princes now, as each of them is in line for the throne" But then this thought came "might as well marry the prince with the scare himself, the king has NO thought whatsoever on giving the throne to HIM" Seeing the picture above is interessting ... HS knows make-up so she certainly knows how to conceal scares (tattoos and stuff), will be interessting to see the reactions of everyone, when WS is running about with no mask and no scare

I'm in love with that Russian youtuber's works, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the next one, since I already know which song she/he's going to use... ;-) I have watched many of the MLSHR fmvs and Kleo Li' use of the music really gives a different feel to the scenes. I think this feeling is lacking in the OSTs for this drama which is a shame. The songs may be good on its own but not for the drama. I have watched all the episodes 5 times now and it still bothers me when I hear the modern music and especially the rap, it distracts from the scenes and I think this is where the drama fails to deliver, not the acting, not the story, and the editing errors may have been forgiven or overlooked if the music gave the right feels but instead it drew us to the flaws. Some music were great like the opening scene with WS and you could feel the excitement to come but then you get music that doesn't fit and makes the flow of the story choppy and not cohesive. Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying all those fmvs out there, keeps me happy until Monday, and I look forward to new ones. Thanks everyone for posting all these pics and videos and insightful analysis.

itzibitzispider
I just love ow the princess fawn over HS some in a "sister"-way some in a "crush"-way But just 2 have a real chance and out of them 50% are bound my the "you have to marry for status and to push the family up the ladder" Which was it, who said in the last epi. ? Something like: Within the family, the princes not only are ranked by the age, but also "by the different family background and the power they possess" Even if the one prince is older, he might be from a less powerful family and that can easily overthrow his chances for the throne So WS is lacking in more than one department within the eyes of the family. He is 3. born (he got scarred by his mom not long after his older brother died) He is scarred (not just anywhere but his face) His family background is strong, but as mother and older brother reject him he has no power to gain from that site He was given away without a second thought (unfeeling mother) and lived among warriors for way to long, never feeling he belonged He was rejected in the beginning from all of his brothers in one or the other way Which, by the way, I so love ... one by one most the brothers turn and include him, some are still wary around him, but still they laugh together and drink tea ... in the end just that one richard simmons-head is still against him, but he is against all of his brothers and I would not be surprised, if he was the one at fault for the death of their other brother so many years ago ... 11 minutes ago, sukbin said: Am I the only one not excited about Haesoo's makeup skill to conceal the scar so that Wang So can remove his mask? I don't know why but Wang So with the mask is so freaking sexy I did not say I like it that he removed the mask ... I meant it in the "how shocked they all must get and that this will gain him a different place within" HS will not be able to apply the makeup each day, that would be to suspicious and get her into trouble ... wouldn't it?

shiraru
Interesting answer~ in Cosmopolitan Finger talk, when asked which prince would she fall in love with if she were Hae Soo, she picked Nam Joohyuk's character (13th Prince / Baek Ah). I guess her "favorite" doesn't mean the same as "who would make her fall in love", ahehehee...
