Joo Won becomes an action star in second teaser for his drama with Kim Tae Hee, 'Yong Pal'

 

 

 

I was mistakenly under the impression that 'Yong Pal' would mostly be a medical, romance melodrama, but it seems there is going to be a lot of action in it, as well!

 

SBS released the second teaser for the drama starring Joo Won and Kim Tae Hee in which the former can be seen partaking in lots of active scenes like car chases and jumping off rooftops, all while looking very serious.  In the last few seconds, Kim Tae Hee makes her frightened appearance in a church.

 

Meanwhile, the drama centers on Kim Tae Hee who was put into a coma by her avaricious older brother, but comes out of it thanks to a doctor played by Joo Won.  His character is a well-respected but mannerless doctor who suffers financially due to his sister's health. It appears that he helps Kim Tae Hee enact revenge against everyone who plotted against her.

I was awed by JW's balance and agility when he was hoisted up in the air and did the flip back in the first teaser making video. Although we do not see KTH and JW talking to each other in the video, they do work well with each other.

omg cant wait for this drama!! KTH and Joowoon!! I'm in heaven!!! My mom will jump to the moon for this drama, her one and only fav actor Joowon, she is so biased she doesn't want any other k-drama except Joowon. And for me KTH is one of my fav actresses she is flawless and I'll take Joowon as a doctor anytime.  Thanks all for bts pics and videos.

조현재, ‘용팔이’ 첫 촬영 연기 변신…칼같은 두얼굴 배우 조현재가 SBS 새 수목드라마 ‘용팔이'(극본 장혁린 연출 오진석)에서 연기 변신에 나선다.

조현재는 ‘용팔이’에서 그룹을 가로채기 위해 아버지의 유언을 무시하고 이복동생 여진(김태희)을 계속해서 깊은 잠에 빠뜨리는 한도준 역을 맡아 악인 연기를 펼칠 예정. 선한 마스크와 더불어 젠틀한 모습으로 사랑받았던 기존 이미지를 벗고 첫 악역 도전에 나선다.

지난 17일 진행된 ‘용팔이’ 첫 촬영에서 조현재는 젠틀한 신사의 이미지가 물씬 풍기는 모습으로 카메라 앞에 나서 향후 그의 변신에 대한 기대감을 더욱 고조시켰다. 이날 촬영은 도준이 여진과 함께 상류층 자제들이 모인 파티에 함께 참석한 모습을 담은 것으로 말쑥한 슈트 차림의 조현재의 모습이 눈길을 끌었다.

귀티 흐르는 외모에서 자상함이 묻어나지만 조명에 의해 음영이 좌우로 나뉜 얼굴에선 언제 그랬냐는 듯 칼 같은 냉혈함 또한 풍겨 나와 두 얼굴의 기업 회장 한도준의 블랙 카리스마를 예감케 한다. 늦은 밤 시작해 새벽이 돼서야 촬영이 마무리 됐지만 조현재는 최상의 컨디션으로 첫 촬영을 호연으로 장식했다.

촬영관계자는 “한도준 역은 탐욕을 채우기 위해 이복동생을 깊은 잠에 빠뜨리는 것은 물론 생명까지 노리는 ‘용팔이’ 최고의 악역”이라며 “조현재를 주목할 것은 그가 지닌 선하고 부드러운 이미지를 배신하는 역할 때문이다. 그런 이유 때문에 조현재가 연기하는 한도준 역을 보는 재미가 더 클 것”이라고 설명했다.

한편 ‘용팔이’는 장소불문, 환자불문 고액의 돈만 준다면 조폭도 마다하지 않는 실력 최고의 돌팔이 외과의사 ‘용팔이’가 병원에 잠들어 있는 재벌 상속녀 잠자는 숲속의 마녀를 만나며 벌어지는 이야기를 그리는 스펙터클 멜로드라마.

오는 8월 5일 SBS 수목드라마 ‘가면’ 후속으로 방송된다.

Am I the only one who felt familiar with the sentence yongpal-iga nuguya? ( 용팔이가 누구야? / Who is Yong Pal?) in the Yong Pal 2nd teaser? It's kinda reminds me of Bridal Mask trailer when Lee Kang To asked Mok Dan "Gaksital-iga nuguya?".

I think the tone of both questions kinda similar. While both teasers equally show off the heroes jumping over buildings and accompanied by the naration of hero description.

The second teaser for upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Yongpal (Yongpalyi) had me in stitches, not because it looks bad or even unintentionally comedic, but because it finally dawned on me what the drama is about. It’s basically a mashup of Lee Jong Seok‘s freelancing rogue doctor element from Dr. Stranger with the underground covert parkour acrobatics of Ji Chang Wook‘s Healer. Watch the English subbed new Joo Won-centric teaser and tell me you don’t see it?

We have Team Joo Won and Team Jo Hyun Jae.But then I can't wait for Jo-Joo couple to come out.I hope it exist.

I also feel that.Also,I feel that Yong Pal is mixed and matched of Lee Kang To and Park Shi On.I was expecting it to be as dark as Bridal Mask but I doubt so after seeing the second trailer.Still liking it but please don't go too fluffy...

When I saw this photo of KTH filming inside a church the place looked familiar to me. Then I realized that it is one of the 3 churches used in JHJ's early drama "Love Letter" where he played a priest.

The church's name is Junglin-dong Yakhyun Catholic Church. I heard this church is quite famous in Korea and has been used in other Kdramas as well.
