Joo Won just had a short interview with Chinese media for his China FM today, and here's the translated parts where he mentions about the filming

I’m having a cold these days and it feels quite serious, my nose gets blocked when I talk. I just finished shooting for drama ‘Yongpal’ yesterday. A big portion of the first half is my scene. Kim Taehee’s portions are mostly lying on the bed while I’m filming a swimming scene when the Han River is at its dirtiest. The filming process is quite difficult, we even filmed scenes of getting hit by cars. After finishing the shoot yesterday, I went home only at 4am and immediately went to catch my flight to Chongqing, I was surprised that I didn’t wake up at all on my flight here.

4) Among the actresses you have worked with, Kim Taehee, Moon Chaewon, <name covered>, who leaves the deepest impression?

Speaking of actresses he worked with, he smiled faintly.

I feel that all the actresses I worked with before have good personalities and are pretty. Actually, I feel that I am quite lucky, because some actresses can be sensitive or have bad temper when they are filming, but all the actresses whom I worked with before have good personalities. People who talked about Kim Taehee found her really pretty, when I’m working with her during ‘Yongpal’, I also felt that she is pretty and has a good personality.
When filming ‘Yongpal’, Kim Taehee would take the initiative to greet me. Actually when filming, we would speak in honorific to a sunbae, so I often spoke in honorific to her, but she offered to let me drop that while we are filming, so I became more natural during the filming.

When I saw this photo of KTH filming inside a church the place looked familiar to me. Then I realized that it is one of the 3 churches used in JHJ's early drama "Love Letter" where he played a priest.

The church's name is Junglin-dong Yakhyun Catholic Church. I heard this church is quite famous in Korea and has been used in other Kdramas as well.

That means, Yongpalyi is her second drama with a filming scene in the same church. A beautiful church indeed!

I have been wondering if the team will go variety show to promote the drama but I doubt that they will since they are busy and SBS does't really "force" their actors to do that right? Anyways, Joo Won has his fair share of variety shows/talk shows to promote his dramas and movies,you can check them out if you want to see how he behave around his co stars.But I am curious about the other leads.I can't find anything from Kim Tae Hee but just a couples of interviews.Any of Kim Tae Hee fans can recommend?

Then I found this video which Joo Won and Kim Tae Hee had back-to-back interviews.Such a fate right? (Okay,even if you don't agree with me,I will still say fate  )

Poor JHJ getting "Bullied" by hosts.He is unexpectedly funny and has such a contrasting personality.Here,he said what he want then covered himself in embarrassment for saying that. In my opinion,very outspoken yet very shy. LOL 

Interesting ppl. I can't wait for Yong Pal and Yong Pal's BTS.

 

 

So far that I know, the kind of variety shows that KTH participated are the interview types, and she’ll be all prim and proper. I wish that she would do Running Man, for example, but reckon that she is just like a lot of other K-actors and K-actresses who shun variety shows that involve a lot of physical activities. Not that KTH is not the sporty type. In fact, she is into golf, cycling and scuba diving. I’ve seen how natural she was with billiard. She was a runner at school too.

I think taking part in the interview type of variety shows to promote drama/movie is something that actors and actresses will do as part of the job. I believe SBS will line up a few for the cast of Yongpalyi as part of their promotion and marketing strategy. Can’t wait to learn what are the cast’s thoughts in the interviews.

Poor JW, having such a killer schedule.

At the same time, I am happy that KTH has left such a good impression on JW.

It goes to show too, the kind of person KTH is, as a person and as a working colleague. She knows how to make her costar comfortable with her. I would love to see the explosive on-screen chemistry between the two, now that there is no honorific/sunbae status to stand as a barrier!

i wonder if sbs will release an official character map. im reading from cynthia's character description that she may have a thing for kim tae hyun? i may be reading it wrong though because i think i read that she also doesnt approve of yong pal illegal operations.  (or maybe it says she wouldnt?) idk i havent been able to really get into translating because of work :c either way...if thats the case then maybe we are in for some kind of twisted love triangle?...probably. i mean. that would be very kdrama lol

I think my sarcasm make it sound more confusing. I re-read it and the best I can make out of Do Joon and her relationship besides the fact that their marriage was arranged, is that while he was besotted by her beauty, she is less enamored with him. Maybe she is idealistic about love and she's not finding it in a man like her husband, She pretends to be a frivolous rich airhead but has more brains then she lets on. Whether she uses the secret on the VIP floor to save her sis in law or to use it to blackmail her husband, remains to be seen. She could be a friend or foe. Eh....as long as drama don't give me another Mi Yeon! 

Thank you for the summary...I am  thinking that she is probably a foe. I also hope that we don`t get a second version of Mi Yeon. I am already traumatised by the first one...

 

 

@mrdimples, @Sarang21,    Me three, regarding Mi-Yeon. But, I have to admit I like the actress who portrays her. (Yu In-Young - at least in her last 3 drama)

And at the same time, I am not really familiar with Chae Jung-An. I have only seen her in a couple of drama, and her roles in them were not quite as strong, as that character description leads me to believe her character might be in this drama.

@prissymom, that article you translated "Two Faces Like a Knife" haunts me somewhat.

" In one of the photos released (see photo up top), Jo Hyun Jae’s face is split in two by shades of light, with the right side bathed in light, while the left side is in shadows, just like the cold blades of a knife. The depiction can be a presentiment of the dark charisma of the two faces of Hanshin Group Chairman Han Do Jun. "

I wonder if the fact that half of his face is bathed with light, is an indication that we will see a good side of him, or at least some inner struggle between good and evil.

What will be his two faces, I wonder - if in fact, we he will have two faces (which will certainly make it more interesting)

He certainly piqued my curiosity when he said the role is a difficult one to act, but he will do his best. Again - that comment leads me to think that he will not be just pure evil - there will be something more to his character.

Kim Hee-ae, Kim Tae-hee, Kim Hyun-joo to appear in SBS drama

SBS drama is set to feature Kim Hee-ae, Kim Tae-hee and Kim Hyun-joo throughout the latter half of the year in various drama series. 

Kim Hee-ae starts off with SBS drama, “Mrs. Cop,” as a lead character named Choi Young-jin who is both a charismatic police officer and working mom. “Mrs. Cop” will air next Monday at 10 p.m.

As for the Wednesdays and Thursdays time slot, SBS drama, “Yong-pal,” which features Kim Tae-hee, is set to follow “Mask.” She will play the character, “Han Yeo-jin,” a chaebol heiress who is initially in a medically induced coma. 

Kim Hyun-joo will appear in SBS drama, “I Have a Partner,” which is set to follow “The Time We Were Not in Love.” She will play a double role as twin sisters. “I Have a Partner” will air every Saturday and Sunday at 10 p.m.

‘Yong-Pal’ Joo Won and Kim Tae-Hee, 10 hours of wire action

 

The actor Joo Won and Kim Tae-Hee had more than 10 hours of wire action at SBS new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Yong-Pal’.

‘Yong-Pal’ Which will be first aired on August 5th, is the story about the best surgeon ‘Yong-Pal’ Tae-Hyun(Joo Won), who does not mind treating gangsters if they pay money, meeting Han Yeo-Jin the ‘Sleeping Witch’ (Kim Tae-Hee) who is in coma.

While the first teaser advertisement is opened, the making video with Joo Won and Kim Tae-Hee draws attention at SBS official SNS facebook and YouTube (SBSNOW).

After 10 hours of shooting Joo Won smiled. “It is fun to hang from the ceiling. I like the atmosphere.” Kim Tae-Hee said, “It is difficult to perform wire action. I am expected to. Please expected the drama.”

At ‘Yong-Pal’, Joo Won, Kim Tae-Hee, Jo Hyun-Jae, Chae Jung-Ahn, Jung Woong-In, Ahn Se-Ha, Song Gyung-Chul, Stephan Lee, Kim Mi-Gyung, Moon Ji-In, Park Hye-Soo, Jung Suk-Yong, and Jang Gwang appears.
