I have ordered S4 and waiting for the shipping Hope I will get it next week I am so happy that I buy the product advertised by Goo Hye Sun.Because so far its not easy to get Korean products like cosmetics or other things through ordering except the electronic goods like Samsung,LG phones and Hyundai cars which are very easy to get . 구혜선씨는 아동전문 호스피스 시설 부족 문제를 지적한 '오늘을 사는 아이들-아동호스피스편', 반려동물과 사람의 교감을 다룬 '너는 내운명' 등의 프로그램에 목소리 재능을 기부해왔다. 또 올해 희망TV '드림 위드(Dream With)' 프로그램에서는 폐교 리모델링을 위해 손수 벽화를 그리는 등 자원봉사에 적극 참여했다.

장미란씨 역시 '스포츠 멘토링 프로그램'을 통해 재능 기부 방식으로 아마추어 스포츠인들의 성장을 돕고, '드림 장학사업'을 통해 어린 스포츠 지망생들에게 장학금도 지원하고 있다.

런던올림픽 탁구선수 유니폼 제작, 2012년 광복절 티셔츠 제작 과정 등에 디자이너로서 자신의 재능을 기꺼이 나눠준 이상봉씨도 상을 받는다. 이 씨는 '드로잉서클'이라는 단체를 통해 해마다 자신이 디자인한 옷도 기부해왔다.

이밖에 1995년 이후 18년동안 어려운 이웃들의 머리를 무료로 가꿔 준 이용사 강창해씨, 고등학교 1학년 때부터 22년동안 장애인 돕기 등 8천시간의 봉사를 실천한 군인 이찬우씨, 2010년부터 자비를 들여 저소득층과 노인들에게 장수 사진을 찍어 준 경찰관 유기선씨 등도 수상자에 포함됐다.

Now the government of South Korea recognized her for her social & humanitarian services. Indeed you make us proud! Geeeeeee! Where does she get all this energy! 보건복지부는 28일 세종문화회관에서 이들 유명인을 포함해 '2013년 제2회 행복나눔인(人)'으로 선정된 40명에게 복지부장관상을 수여했다. On June 28th, at SeJong Cultural Center, Department of Health and Human Services recognized these celebrities and others totaling 40 recipients with Award of Ministry at their 2nd Share Happiness event.

행복나눔인상은 '나눔' 부문에서 사회적 귀감이 된 사람들을 격려하기 위한 것으로, 2011년 이후 지금까지 분기별 선정을 통해 모두 378명이 상을 받았다  Share Happiness project was born in 2011 in order to recognize and award those citizens who have become social role models. So far, Dept of HHS have awarded 378 people.

구혜선씨는 아동전문 호스피스 시설 부족 문제를 지적한 '오늘을 사는 아이들-아동호스피스편', 반려동물과 사람의 교감을 다룬 '너는 내운명' 등의 프로그램에 목소리 재능을 기부해왔다. 또 올해 희망TV '드림 위드(Dream With)' 프로그램에서는 폐교 리모델링을 위해 손수 벽화를 그리는 등 자원봉사에 적극 참여했다. GHS-ssi has donated her voice to such programs as: "Children who live for today" which pointed out the deficiencies in the children's hospice facilities; "You are my fate" which described the rapport between people and animals. Plus, she also directly gave her skill and time to a TV Hope program, Dream With, where she helped remodel an abandoned school building by working on the wall mural.

장미란씨 역시 '스포츠 멘토링 프로그램'을 통해 재능 기부 방식으로 아마추어 스포츠인들의 성장을 돕고, '드림 장학사업'을 통해 어린 스포츠 지망생들에게 장학금도 지원하고 있다. Jang Miran has given her talent and time towards the "Sports Mentoring Program" which helps out with the development of amateur players. She also gives towards "Dream Scholarship Prog," for the children who wants to go into sports fields.

Designer Lee SangBong (He is also a co-ambassador with GHS for the upcoming Biennale Festival in September) has consistently given his talent and time towards many projects: production of London Olympics ping pong players uniform; production of T-shirts for the 2012 Korean Independence Day. Through an organization  called "Drawing Circle", he annually donates his own designed clothes.

I am so glad that GHS is recognized for such achievement. Besides the programs mentioned, GHS always gave her own time, body and talent to various programs. They forgot to mention that she actually worked hard to make money for the sterile emergency vehicle for the children with leukemia and she also helped out at the shelters when the island people's home were ruined from (was it the bomb launching from North Korea??), she participated with medical doctors and nurses several times in immunizing and giving medical care to children with disabilities. She usually does it without notice of the media. God bless you GHS-ssi and all the recipients of the Ministry Award.

GHS, 2 nights and 3 days in Hong Kong

GHS, who had her 3rd art opening, has been specially invited to Hong Kong Contemporary. Although 2 nights and 3 days is very short for an art opening, it is enough to recall the original intention. Afterwards, she left for Ullengdo Island to be filled with nature. I listened to her who is brimming with artistic sense.

지난해 9월, 세 번째 개인전을 앞둔 구혜선을 만났을 때 그녀는 금발 머리를 하고 싶다고 했다. 얼마 뒤 그녀는 진짜 금발 머리를 한 모습을 보여줬다. 그녀가 경험을 위해 해외에서 열리는 아트 페어에 참석하고 싶다는 이야기를 들은 후 몇 달이 지났을까. 홍콩에서 열리는 ‘홍콩 컨템퍼레리 아트 페어’에 초청받았다는 소식을 들었다. I met GHS last Septemeber before her 3rd art opening. At that time, she said that she wanted to color her hair blond. Then, she actually showed herself with blond hair. She also talked about her wish to participate in an art fair abroad. Soon afterwards, I heard the news that she was invited to the Hong Kong art fair.

큰일이든 작은 일이든 ‘한다면 하는’ 사람이라는 건 알았지만, 이렇게까지 추진력이 좋은 줄은 예상하지 못했다. 물론 아트 페어에 개인전 작가로 초청받은 것은 그녀의 노력 밖의 일이지만, 지금껏 국내에서 열심히 활동한 모습이 반영된 결과일 것이다. I already knew her to be someone who does what she says she will do whether it is small or big. However, I never imagined that her driving force/momentum is this good. Of course, being invited to the art fair is not from her effort. But, I believe that such an invitation reflects her consistent hard work within Korea.

6월 24일, 해외 첫 전시를 열기 위해 홍콩 출국을 앞둔 구혜선에게 사진을 담아 와달라는 부탁을 했다. 이때 그녀는 매니저 없이 움직이고 있었다. YG 엔터테인먼트에서 매니저 없이 활동하는 연예인은 그녀 한 명뿐일 것이다. “하도 제 맘대로 하니까 소속사에서 내놓은 것 같다”며 웃었던 그녀의 모습이 떠올랐다. 결국 구혜선은 매니저 없이 홍콩행 비행기에 올랐다. On June 24th, GHS was about to leave for Hong Kong for the first art fair abroad and I asked her to bring me lots of pictures. At this time, GHS has been working without a manager. Most likely, GHS must be the only person in YG Entertainment to work without a manager. I remember GHS telling me with a smile: "I think the agency just threw their hands in air because I just want to do things my way." GHS ultimately left for Hong Kong without a manager. (we know that she took her sister with her instead!! I remember GHS being escorted by her sister during the NN5 days too!)

처음, 홍콩 전시 나들이는 3박 4일로 예정돼 있었지만, 구혜선은 2박 3일 만에 서울로 도착했다는 문자를 보내왔다. 최근, 9월에 열릴 청주공예비엔날레의 홍보 대사로 이상봉 디자이너와 함께 위촉돼 위촉식에 참석하기 위해서 부득이하게 일정을 당겼다고 한다. 짧은 시간이었지만 충분히 교감했던 홍콩 나들이에 대해 이야기를 나눴다. At first GHS was suppose to be at the Hong Kong art fair for 3 nights and 4 days. But GHS sent me a text saying that she returned to Korea after 2 nights and 3 days. She had to return to Korea early because she had to attend an appointment ceremony for the upcoming ChungJoo Biennale Craft/Art Fair in September for which she and designer Lee SangBong have been appointed ambassadors. Albeit short, GHS says that she had a sufficiently nice time in Hong Kong.

홍콩에서 자유로운 감성을 느끼다
홍콩은 현재 가장 핫한 미술 시장이다. 매년 5월이면 명성 높은 아트 페어들이 속속 열리고 수준 높은 갤러리들이 오픈해 세계의 미술 애호가들에게 각광받고 있다. 세계적 아트 페어인 ‘아트 바젤’이 홍콩 아트 페어를 인수한 뒤 ‘아트 바젤 홍콩’을 연 것만 봐도 홍콩 시장의 가능성이 얼마나 높은지 알 수 있다. GHS says that she felt a sense of freedom in Hong Kong. "Currently Hong Kong is the hottest market for art. Every year in May, renowned art fairs take place and many great and high-quality galleries have their openings. Such excitement bring art lovers and other tourists to Hong Kong from all over the world. It is easy to see how potentially explosive Hong Kong market is just by the fact that world renowned Art Bazelle acquired Hong Kong art fair and opened Art Bazelle Hong Kong." (please overlook my spelling errors.)

구혜선이 초정된 ‘홍콩 컨템퍼레리 아트 페어’는 코즈웨이베이 엑셀시오호텔에서 열리는 호텔 아트 페어로 홍콩에서 갤러리를 운영하는 한인 문은명씨가 기획한 것이다. 독특한 점은 VIP 프로그램 위주의 유명 아트 페어와 달리 소외된 사람들도 함께할 수 있는 열린 아트 페어라는 것이다. 올해는 중국, 일본, 스페인, 독일 등 화랑 40여 곳이 참여했다. 지난해에는 특별전에 하정우가 초청됐다. 기획자는 하정우가 영화배우인 줄 모르고 그림만 보고 초청했는데, 구혜선도 마찬가지였다고 한다.
“작년 늦가을 즈음에 컨템퍼레리 아트 페어 특별전의 제안을 받았어요. 당시 개인전 ‘잔상’을 하고 있던 터라 거의 동시에 아트 페어에 들어갈 작품을 구상하고 준비했죠. 총 13점을 출품했는데 새로운 작품에는 ‘금붕어’ ‘자화상’ 등이 있어요. 보시는 분들이 제가 표현한 생각에 동화됐으면 하는 바람을 담아 작품을 만들었죠.” The Hong Kong Art Fair, to which GHS was invited, was held at the Koswaybay Excelcior Hotel in Hong Kong. It was organized by a Korean gallery owner in Hong Kong named Moon EunYoung. What was unique about this art fair is that, unlike other famous art fairs, many unrecognized or non-celebrity artists were able to participate in the art fair. This year, art projects from 40 different countries including China, Japan, Spain and Germany. Last year, Ha JungWoo was invited. Reportedly, the art fair organizer did not know that both Ha JungWoo and GHS are celebrities. They were invited to the fair based on their art works only.

GHS: "Late fall of last year, I received an invitation to the Contemporary Art Fair's special corner. At that time, I was holding my "Jan-Sang=Afterimage" art opening. So, I actually prepared art pieces for two fairs nearly at the same time. Total of 13 pieces were exhibited and among them were new pieces like 'Gold Fish' and 'Self-portrait'. I made them hoping that onlookers may feel part of my thinking and expression."

구혜선은 지난해 예술의전당 한가람미술관에서 열린 개인전 당시 얼굴, 물고기, 여자의 누드 등을 오묘하게 추상적으로 표현한 작품을 선보여 주목을 끌었다.
컨템퍼레리 아트 페어는 호텔에서 열린 전시회답게 작품 구성과 배치가 신선했다. Last year at a private art opening at theTemple of Art's HanGaRam museum, GHS showcased abstract pictures of face, fish, and nude and received much attention. The HK art fair that opened inside a hotel was different and new in terms of how the pieces were shown and arranged.
“무척 신선했어요. 뭔가 자유롭게 작품을 대하고, 공유하는 느낌이 들었죠. 호텔 한 층을 빌려서 각각의 방을 작가의 전시실로 사용했는데, 침대 위나 커텐 밑에 그림을 놓고 전시하기도 하고요. 큰 규모는 아니었지만 그래서 더 정감 있고 편안했죠. 제가 숙박하는 곳에서 엘리베이터를 타고 가면 아트 페어 전시장이 바로 나와서 집 앞 산책을 나온 기분이었어요(웃음).” GHS: "The experience was so refreshing. It just felt so free and easy to experience the art. One whole hotel floor was rented and each room was used as an exhibition room. So pieces were placed on the bed or under the curtains. The size was not big but that is why it felt more cozy and more comfortable. The art fair took place just an elevator ride away from my room that I felt like I was just taking a walk around my home. (laughter)"

컨템퍼레리 아트 페어는 젊은 작가들의 참여가 많다. 시간을 내면, 세계 곳곳의 작가들과 교류할 수 있는 기회가 있었겠지만, 갑작스럽게 많은 팬들과 취재진이 찾아오는 바람에 다른 작가들의 작품을 천천히 감상할 시간이 적었다. 하지만 구혜선은 함께 특별전을 한 지지차오의 작품이 뚜렷한 색감 때문에 인상 깊었다고 했다. 지지차오는 재력가의 딸로 홍콩의 유명 인사이기도 하다. 동성애자로 커밍아웃해 세간을 떠들썩하게 만들기도 했는데 이날에는 ‘당신이 이해하지 못하는 것에 대해 증오하지 말라’는 글씨가 적힌 작품을 선보이기도 했다.
“원래는 전시회 오프닝 행사에 참석하고 그림을 관람하는 분들과 함께 이야기를 나눌 계획이었어요. 시간이 더 주어지면 홍콩 관광도 하려고 했죠. 그런데 드라마 ‘꽃보다 남자’를 사랑해주신 각국의 팬들이 예고 없이 오셔서 급작스럽게 팬 미팅 비슷한 것을 하게 됐어요(웃음). 팬들과도 대화를 나누고 싶었는데, 각국의 언어를 사용하시는 바람에 거의 손짓, 몸짓으로 했죠. 작품에 대한 질문을 많이 하셨는데 제가 잘 설명드렸는지 모르겠어요.”   Many young artists took part in this Contemporary Art Fair. It could have been a great opportunity to exchange thoughts with artists from all over the world. However, due to the sudden visits by fans and the media, she had little time for that. GHS pointed out that she had a very deep and special appreciation for GiGi Chow's clear sense for color in her work; GHS and GiGi Chow shared the special art exhibition corner. GiGi Chow is not only a daughter of a famous wealthy business man in HK, but she also caused big news all over the world when she announced her coming out. GHS mentioned GiGi Chow's writing in one of her pieces: 'Do Not Hate What You Cannot Understand'.

GHS: "I originally planned to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition and have a sharing time with other artists. If there was time, I also wanted to tour around Hong Kong area. But, fans from many different countries who loved BOF came without notice (maybe the hotel did not warn GHS??) and so we had an impromptu fan meeting. (laughter) I wanted to talk with the fans but due to several different languages spoken, we mostly talked with our hands and body gestures. They asked a lot of questions about the pieces, but I am not sure if I was able to explain sufficiently well."

50여 명의 취재진이 몰려들어 기자 회견이 열리기도 했다. 홍콩 취재진들은 작품에 대해 물어본 뒤 “이상형이 뭐냐?”는 질문을 하기도 했다. 구혜선은 “예술을 좋아하는 남자”라고 답했다고 한다. 50 reporters poured in that she also had press conference. Hong Kong reporters asked first about the art and then asked her about her ideal male type. So she says she answered with: A Man who likes art.

호텔에서 열리는 아트 페어답게 신선한 작품 배치가 인상 깊었다. 침대 위나 커튼 밑에 그림이 놓여 있어 자유롭게 작품을 대하는 느낌이 들었다. = "I was impressed by how art pieces were arranged in a hotel. They were placed atop beds and under the curtains that one can feel more free and comfortable to approach art."

잘 팔리는 그림을 그려야 한다는 압박을 벗고=I put aside the pressure to draw pieces that must sell.
이번에 홍콩을 처음 방문한 구혜선은 친언니와 함께였다. 하지만 갑작스러운 인터뷰와 행사가 많이 생기는 바람에 구혜선은 호텔 안에 발이 묶여 있게 됐고, 언니 혼자 관광을 하다 식사 시간이 되면 만나서 홍콩 음식을 맛봤다고 한다.
“다른 나라 작가들의 작품을 볼 수 있는 기회라서 좋았지만, 사실 어린 시절 ‘영웅본색’을 비롯해 4대 천왕의 영화를 다 본 터라 홍콩 자체에 대한 기대도 많았어요. 그런데 아침에 일어나자마자 여러 군데를 쫓아다니는 바람에 끼니를 놓치기도 했죠. 홍콩 음식에 가장 많이 기대를 했는데…(웃음).”   This was GHS's first time to visit Hong Kong and she came with her sister. (Wow, I did not know that this was her first time in HK!) But, due to the sudden pouring of the media and fans, GHS was pretty much tied to her hotel room. Her sister ended up touring the city alone and they met up to taste Hong Kong meals together.  GHS: "I liked the fact that it was an opportunity to experience art from all over the world. But I also had great expectations about Hong Kong itself. As a child I watched all the movies about the 4 emperors and so I had high expectation for Hong Kong. But, I had to run around a lot from morning to night that I even missed some meals. I really was hoping to taste a lot of Hong Kong, but....(laughter)

밤에는 잠잘 시간도 부족했단다. 무엇을 한번 손대면 끝장을 보는 성격답게 한국에서 해오던 일거리를 잔뜩 들고 갔기 때문. “좀 더 홍콩을 즐겼으면 좋았을 텐데 하는 아쉬움은 있지만, 대신 홍콩의 공기와 야경은 실컷 즐겼죠(웃음).” At nights, she did not have enough time to sleep either. Because of her personality to finish what she started, she brought lots of work from home! GHS: "I do have some regret about not enjoying Hong Kong more fully but I did fully enjoy Hong Kong air and night view. (laughter).

구혜선은 2박 3일 동안의 홍콩 전시 나들이를 “짧아서 아쉽지만 충분히 리프레시가 됐던 시간”이라고 했다.
“제가 그곳에서는 외국인 작가잖아요. 그래서 호기심 있게 지켜봐주신 것 같아요. 미술 분야는 특히 작가의 강한 개성을 존중해주잖아요? 그런데도 사실 국내에서 그림을 그리다 보면 잘 팔려야 한다는 압박을 나도 모르게 받을 때가 있는데, 이번에 아트 페어를 다녀온 뒤에는 제 원래 신념을 지키는 게 좋을 것 같다는 생각을 했죠(웃음). 이제 한숨 돌리고 나면 국내에서 개인전 준비를 하려고요.” GHS said that it is regrettable that her time in HK was so short but that it was a sufficiently refreshing time for her. GHS: "Over there, I am a foreign artist. That is why I think they treated me with much more interest. Especially in the art field, they respect artists' strong aspects. Even so, I actually feel the unconscious pressure to draw what sells when I work in Korea. But, after this art fair experience, I realized that it is best to stand by my original belief. (laughter) After taking a deep breath, I plan to open another private exhibition later."

울릉도에서 자연을 담다 I fill up with nature in Ullengdo.
구혜선은 홍콩에서 돌아온 지 얼마 되지 않아 울릉도로 향했다. 울릉도의 삶에 관한 다큐멘터리를 준비 중이라 작품 구상을 하고, 자신이 만든 음악의 뮤직비디오를 찍기 위해서였다. 가수 은퇴 후 이곳에 머물고 있는 이장희씨를 만나 잠시 이야기도 나눴단다. Not too long after returning from Hong Kong, GHS headed for Ullengdo. She is in the midst of preparing a documentary about life in Ullengdo. She will conceptualize the documentary and she also will shoot an MV of her new musical composition. She even had a talk with singer Lee JangHee-ssi who took residence in Ullengdo after retiring from singing.

구혜선의 반려견 ‘감자’와 ‘군밤’이, 반려묘 ‘쌈이’와 ‘망고’까지 대식구가 같이 울릉도로 갔다고 해서 휴식을 좀 취하려나 했는데 웬걸, 경치 좋은 울릉도에서도 작업을 열심히 하고 돌아왔단다. 그녀는 “아이들을 울릉도에서 실컷 뛰어놀게 하고 싶었는데 요즘 진드기가 걱정돼서 풀어놓지 못했다”며 아쉬워했다. 마침 울릉도에 머물 때 MBC가 주최한 ‘백건우 섬마을 콘서트’가 열려 피아니스트 백건우의 연주회에도 참석했다. 촛대바위가 보이는 해안 산책로에 야외 무대가 설치됐고 백건우의 연주가 흐르며 낭만적인 장면이 연출됐다.
“야외 공연이다 보니까 백건우 선생님은 집중하기 어려우셨을지도 모르지만, 청중 입장에서 보는 풍경은 정말 좋았어요. 갈매기 울음소리나 파도 소리 등이 피아노 소리와 함께 들려왔는데 그래서 더 아름다웠던 것 같아요.”               GHS even took her dogs Gamja and Chestnut (Woah! did we ever see Chestnut? or did the reporter mistake Peanut for Chestnut?? keke) as well as her cats SSam and Mango to Ullengdo. She was hoping to get a little vacation in Ullengdo. But, instead, she says she worked very hard in the beautiful Ullengdo. GHS said with regret: "I wanted to let my kids (her pets) run free and wild in Ullengdo but I was worried about the recent surge of ticks that I could not. Fortunately, when I was there, MBC-sponsored piano concert by Bek GunWoo-ssi took place." Titled 'Bek GunWoo Island Village Concert', the concert took place outdoors with the background of Candle Stick Stone and the marina giving it a romantic feel.  GHS: "It might have been difficult for Bek GunWoo-ssi to concentrate perfoming outdoors but, from the audience perspective, it was even more beautiful with the scenary. The piano music along with the sound of waves and sea gulls made it so much more lovely."

하지만 2주 동안 울릉도에 머물면서 스태프들과 촬영을 하는 일은 만만치 않았던 모양이다. However, during the 2 week stay in Ullengdo, she and her staff did not have an easy time filming.
“울릉도가 화산섬이라서 지형 자체가 달랐어요. 평지가 별로 없고 절벽 같은 곳에 집이 있었서 이동하기가 힘들었죠(웃음). 가족들과 그냥 쉬러 왔다면 좋았겠지만, 저는 촬영을 해야 하니까 생필품 등을 구하기 어려워 혼났죠.” GHS: "Ullengdo is a volcanic island that the terrain itself is different. Flat land hardly exists and houses are located near cliff-like areas that it was hard to move around. (laughter) There would have been no problem if I went there to just rest with the family, but we went there to film and work that even acquring necessary items were a great hardship."

서울에서 울릉도까지 가는데만 13시간이었는데 나오는 일은 더욱 어려웠다. 배가 하루에 한 번 있는데, 전부 매진이 된 것. “새벽 5시부터 줄을 서서 기다리다가 배를 타고 나왔다”고 하는 그녀의 목소리에 피로감이 묻어 있었다. 이미 울릉도에서 편집까지 모두 마치고 돌아왔다니, 조만간 울릉도에서 찍은 뮤직비디오를 선보일 것 같다. It took 13 hours to get to Ullengdo from Seoul, but it was even more difficult to get out of the island. Only one boat leaves the island per day and everything was sold out. GHS: "We waited on line from 5 in the morning to get the boat ride." GHS's voice as she said those words was filled with exhaustion. GHS says that she totally completed her projects including editing while in Ullengdo. We can all look forward to her MV very shortly.

구혜선은 최근까지 음악 활동을 활발히 해왔다. 세 번째 싱글 앨범 ‘기억상실증’을 발표했고, 서인국의 컴백 앨범에도 참여했다. 자신이 작곡한 곡 ‘행복했을까’를 선물한 것. 이것이 인연이 돼 서인국과 연인 콘셉트의 뮤직비디오를 촬영하기도 했다.  GHS has been very active with her music. Recently she came up with her third single "Amnesia" and she even worked with Suh InGuk in his come back album. She presented him with a gift of her composition, "Could We Have Been Happy". This led to GHS and SIG making a MV together as lovers.

좋은 소식도 들렸다. I also heard some good news.
지난해 개봉한 장편 영화 ‘복숭아나무’가 브뤼셀국제판타스틱영화제 경쟁 부문에 초청된 것. 비록 수상은 못했지만 행복한 시간이었다고. 얼마 전에는 전남 영광의 한 폐교를 찾아 리모델링하는 작업을 돕기도 했다. Her movie Peach Tree that opened last year was invited to Brussels International Film Festival as a competitive item. Although it did not win, she says she had a very happy time there. Not too long ago, she also gave a hand in a remodeling project of an abandoned building.

5월, 6월 동안 유난히 바삐 활동을 하는 이유를 물었더니 구혜선은 “그냥 재밌잖아요” 하고 웃었다. 그녀는 글을 쓰고, 영화를 만들고, 그림을 그리고, 연기를 하는 모든 것들이 모두 놓을 수 없는 자신의 일이라고 했다. 이렇게 동분서주하는 까닭도 다양한 사람들을 만나 예술적 교감을 나누기 위함일 것. 그 교감을 통해 그녀는 다시 창작을 한다. 하지만 특별하게 포장되는 것도, 적극적인 인생을 사는 사람인 양 비춰지는 것도 그녀는 부담스럽다. 다양한 활동들이 라인업돼 있지만, 그녀의 연기 활동 소식은 아직 없다. 하지만 구혜선은 현재 자신의 직접 연기하기 위한 시나리오를 쓰고 있다고 한다. ‘나’를 가장 잘 아는 사람은 자신이라는 생각에서라고. 구혜선의 다음 소식은 또 어디서 들려올까. I asked her why she kept so busy during the months of May and June. GHS just smiled and said:"It is just so fun." She says that writing, filming, drawing and acting are her work that she cannot let go. Keeping busy enables her to share and communicate art with many different people. Through such exchange of ideas and thoughts, she is again able to create. However, she says that she feels burdened by others viewing her in a specially packaged way or as overly and aggressively hard working person. Various works are in queue for GHS, but there is no news about her acting. GHS says that she is working on a scenario where she will act. She says it is because I am the expert about me. I wonder from where I may hear other news about GHS...

Thanks to Ayesuper for the info, The Peach Tree will be screening at New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF)!
I have checked that she is not in the guest list so I don’t think she would appear in New York. But it’s another international recognition of her work!

When we say we’re screening THE PEACH TREE, a movie about a kid with two heads trying to learn about love, you’ve got a pretty good idea of how insane this movie is going to be. Surprise! THE PEACH TREE is actually a deeply felt, sensitive romance about the price children pay for disappointing their parents and about the debt that siblings owe one another.

Told in the dazzling late afternoon light of a fairy tale, THE PEACH TREE starts with a young couple in love who have a baby that turns out to have two heads. Their mother goes insane, but Dad simply moves them to the country and isolates everyone: insane mother locked away upstairs, conjoined brothers told they can never leave the house. And so they live for 30 years. As they grow up the conjoined brothers reveal their very different personalities. Dong-Hyun, who controls their shared body, is angry and wants more from life. He dreams of being an author, meeting a girl, being free from his brother. Sang-Hyun is the sweet dreamer, unable to do anything but speak, as patient and harmless as his brother is violently angry.

Trying to make Dong-Hyun’s dream of writing a book come true, Dad invites a children’s book illustrator, Park Seung-Ah, into their home. Desperate to appear “normal” Dong-Hyun will do anything to hide his brother, but as their book makes a sale and the publisher realizes that a book by a man with two heads will be the ultimate marketing tool, the delicate, golden world the boys have lived in gets cracked in half and all its bloody insides are exposed to the harsh glare of real life.

TV star Nam Sang-Mi plays the illustrator Park, and TV star Ryu Deok-Hwan plays the angry, hotheaded Dong-Hyun, while his brother, Sang Hyun, is played by Cho Seung-Woo, one of Korean cinema’s most respected young actors. The film is directed by Ku Hye-Sun, nicknamed “Ku-onardo DaVinci” for her wide-ranging interests. One of Korea’s few female directors, she started out as a massive television star in the hit Boys Over Flowers series. Groomed to be a pop star she wound up appearing in several major television series instead (although she’s also released an album). In 2009, she wrote the best-selling novel Tango and held her first gallery show. Only 28 years old, she wrote THE PEACH TREE as a novel in two weeks. The film version flopped when it came out (only 30,000 people bought tickets) but it is a jagged, strange movie, zigging where others zag. When you’ve finished watching this film you know you’ve seen something totally and completely personal, private, and unique.
