Agree with you.. the video game vibe is so strong in Carter and that's what made me engage mor with the movie. I must say that approach worked well for Carter.

 

I didn't absolutely love it, I knew there's high chance I wouldn't as I've said I'm into pure action . But I can see it's strong side.. Like enjoyed the game vibe, the stunts and the awesome camera angles.. and like JW said in many different promo that Carter will make us wonder how did they film it. It really made me curious about that. Team work is

honestly sometimes in some scenes I was worried joo won I wondered if he had been injured a lot when doing them since certain parts were complicated for me but wow I definitely saw that he did all the scenes without the need for a double he made it spectacular I think he could use the nickname of the king of action haha and the sauna scene was such a visual treat lol

I didn’t realise he has an autobiography on Carter. Just glanced thru the video but couldn’t understand.. What I like best is his warmth and nice personality, appreciating and rewarding the Carter team before the movie became top 10. Hope the movie stays on the top list for long time

Ya, the sauna scene is quite impressive, ridiculous as some folks put it. But I thought otherwise. Respect respect!

My hubby enjoys action thriller, watches lots of gory kdramas. He too complimented JW! Best Action star. And said it would be a waste if he just focused on action shows. Too talented just to stick to 1 genre.. Lol.

Following a successful premiere, Joo Won's new movie "Carter" made it to Netflix's global top 10 charts. Released on August 5, the 34-year-old star did not disappoint viewers with his action-packed movie about a skilled agent named Carter. 

 

'Carter' Dominates in 18 Countries

 

 

According to streaming data aggregator platform, Flix Patrol, the action thriller film soared to the second spot in Netflix's top 10 movies making it one of the currently most watched films on the streaming platform. 

 

Based on the chart dated August 7, "Carter" is next to Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine's romantic film "Purple Hearts" which topped the chart since it premiered on July 29.

 

As for Joo Won's movie, it is currently the number one movie in 18 countries including the Bahamas, Turkey, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, The Philippines, Malaysia, and more.

Hahaha.. that's the way JW trap fans usually...He shows one image through acting and then a different one when he is just being himself.

 

Mind you the movie is currently generating mixed reviews of people-it's hit or miss with the way it has been filmed also the who direction narrative. But at JW is being praised for showing a impeccable performance. 

 

And the action lovers particularly seems to be loving the crazy stunt acts of Carter.

If you've seen the Korean Audio with English subtitles then yes.. it's his English..But English dialogues are dubed I believe. I mean he himself dubbed it. Love how he made a separate rough tone for Carter. It's not something new.. but level of roughness is totally on another level.

Yea, its amazing. He is the boy next door who performs magic and crazy stunts. In some ways, Kang Dan Won reminds me of JW. But I hope JW won’t forsake drama for silver screen!!

So I watched the movie in the weekend.  it´s was okay.  They could have made a better plot. but usually action movies takes a hit in plot wise. Cinematography was awesome and the action scenes where good.

I had to stop at 15:00, though. The camera work is so unsteady and shaky that I just cannot continue to watch it. I understand they want to make it look like a video game, but it's difficult to watch it as a movie. Also, the music is not good. I'll just read your reviews.

I had looked forward with a great deal of excitement to the premier of the Netflix "Carter". However, I did not find it to be as good as I had hoped and not Joo Won's fault. The action scenes were well choreographed, and he did not seem to miss a beat while doing them. The single shot filming style, while dizzying at time, was also well done.  Where it fell short for me was the storyline which almost seemed to have had mulitple changes in writers, with each not knowing where the story was first intended to go. Also, the decision by whoever, to overdub the actor's voices rather than using subtitles was a poor decision. With all that said, he looked absolutely fit so his sessions at the gym really paid off. I look forward to his next project and hope that it is one that gives a better showing of his skills.

Its Singapore National Holiday today! A timely gift from JooWon as his Movie article appeared on our National newspaper Straits Times yesterday evening… titled ‘JOO WON pretty boy no more…. His cool ( indeed very cool persona!) photo took up more than 1/4 page of the newspaper… ahem not his sauna /sumo wardrobe @partyon
 

In the article, it said ‘ the actor also changed his voice and tried to disappear into the character’. 
Unfortunately, I am a social media lazy idiot, dont really upload photos, mainly like to put in nice comments.

I may be the rare one in saying that I don't intend to watch Carter - both because its genre isn't really my thing and I think *that* scene everyone's talking about would be really uncomfortably awkward for me to be watching anywhere in my house - but I am glad to hear that it's being well-received by those who do like it.

Today 10th August 2022 Joo won' appearance on Kim Youngchul's Power FM at SBS FM. Joo Won mentioned this is the last radio appearance he has for Carter. I hope he'll get a few more. I really enjoy his stories on radio.. few of messages asked JW to be special DJ for the show.. JW said he'll do it if he get asked to do.. I really hope he gets to do radio because he has previously mentioned it in radio shows that would like to do radio shows someday.

 

And Carter has been toped the non-english movie chart on Netflix.

I haven’t watched this one with Eng subs yet! There are quite a few videos and clips that I missed out ‘cos waiting for eng subs. But by time the subs are out, I got distracted. So many Thanks, @flutterby06!!

I think there's a chance they won't bother the kid with interviews considering this movie isn't for minor. But I did saw shared and promote Carter in her own way sharing posters and her behind the scene pictures.

Sadly there's no mention of Gray Man Vs. Carter in the main story. I saw quite a lot of comments on twitter saying Carter is better than Gray Man in action. So I thought I would see more in details here.. but no mention of that.

 

But it's a good review though- It talks about the strength and weaknesses of Carter and highlights how it's a movie that's amazing in technical point of view-director's filming style and camera work.
