backstreetboysfan
Spoiler Kim Ji Won Dishes On Her Chemistry With Kim Soo Hyun, Styling Her “Queen Of Tears” Character, And More tvN’s “Queen of Tears” has unveiled new stills of Kim Ji Won! Penned by “Crash Landing on You,” “My Love From the Star,” and “The Producers” writer Park Ji Eun, “Queen of Tears” tells the miraculous, thrilling, and humorous love story of a married couple who manage to survive a crisis and stay together against all odds. Kim Soo Hyun stars as Baek Hyeon Woo, the legal director of the conglomerate Queens Group, while Kim Ji Won plays his wife Hong Hae In, the chaebol heiress known as the “queen” of Queens Group’s department stores. On her reason for choosing to star in the project, Kim Ji Won shared, “I wanted to act out the life of Hong Hae In, who appears cold but is lovable, looks strong but is delicate, and is not simple. I got the thought that I could take on a new challenge through a role with a different vibe from the previous project.” She added, “I hope to hear, ‘Her role this time suits her really well.'” Kim Ji Won shared, “On first impression, Hong Hae In is a cold and straightforward figure who appears to have lived a life without lacking anything. Hae In is used to running forward while only looking straight ahead, and she is a figure who is unfamiliar with restoring relationships while taking care of her wounds, so Hae In’s wounds and loneliness touched me greatly, and I felt that it was unfortunate in some way.” Regarding her character’s style, Kim Ji Won explained, “I thought a lot so that Hae In’s extravagant styling not only simply reflects her wealth but also links the character’s situation and emotions,” sharing that she focused on the idea, “As she feels happier, her clothes become more extravagant!” Furthermore, Kim Ji Won compared her character’s relationship with Baek Hyeon Woo as that of a magnet. She elaborated, “Although it seems like they’re pushing each other away like the N and S poles, they’re complete when together and can move onwards while deciding on a direction.” Touching on her chemistry with her co-star, Kim Ji Won revealed, “Actor Kim Soo Hyun really makes the filming set comfortable and bright. Thanks to that, we were able to highlight our chemistry as an [on-screen] married couple really well.” “Queen of Tears” will premiere on March 9 at 9:10 p.m. KST. sweetroad
What did you all think of Episode 1? It was interesting to see that most of the episode was from Baek Hyun-woo's perspective - they're making him a complex character already, which is great. Hong Hae-In is so cold so far, but she seems like a wounded ice queen - curious to see what made her that way, if they develop any backstory. The episode started out pretty slowly and honestly I found it kind of cheesy at first, but the crazy memorial scene was the best! And it was more engaging after that. @partyon Kwakkie is a happy lazy bum in this one! 2

The episode started out pretty slowly and honestly I found it kind of cheesy at first, but the crazy memorial scene was the best! And it was more engaging after that. @partyon Kwakkie is a happy lazy bum in this one! It was 1 hour 15 minutes long but I really didn't feel it, it never got draggy or boring. Episode 1 of any drama is supposed to establish the basic stuff - characters, relationships - and QoT did it really well. The Oh Jung-se cameo was too funny Kim Soo-hyun whining, crying and complaining to his friends/bodyguards and then all calm with the shrink lolllll Also I've been saying since the minute the leads were cast, Kim Soohyun and Kim Jiwon have great chemistry, it's painful to watch them hate each other like that but the little flashes when they're in love are SO GOOD, I want to know what happened to them to change that! (obviously her family has something to do with it but it's so vague and I wanna know more) Also she's so good at conveying 'hurt while the character is doing her best to let nothing show', I'm impressed. And the memorial scene was 10/10, I was wondering why they were showing the aunt in prison but then that scene happened and I died lol Kwakkie trying to do the offering with her yelling the entire time And of course that bombshell at the end! I know it's a romcom but after CLOY I'm having trust issues lol edit: does anyone know ratings for ep 1? I really hope this does well. Gaia2u
Sadly, so far, it’s just another K drama that wants to discourage Women from taking leading positions in business, not just the rich ladies, but any lady striving to get to the top of the business world. In Korea, there are so few women at the top of any thing regarding business and money - it may be that those few are just as ruthless as their silly little boy counterparts, but it is quite the trend in K dramas to always make the ladies look worse. So far this series is no different. In this story the common husband is, of course, much more ‘qualified’ and human as the woman, who is ruthless and heartless, and therefore also not the better business woman -although, exactly those qualities are what men are praised for … viewers are often unaware, or don’t want to see, the subliminal messages of many of these dramas, in an increasingly more conservative controlled country - yet, so many women are trying to stand up for their own rights and businesses run by women often in the world are better run Will be interesting to see if the series improves
