“Hyena” is hyping up anticipation with its new teaser video!

The upcoming SBS drama tells the survival story of competitive lawyers who hold the law in their minds but money in their hearts. Kim Hye Soo plays money-hungry Jung Geum Ga while Joo Ji Hoon plays elite lawyer Yoon Hee Jae.

The teaser starts with Kim Hye Soo and Joo Ji Hoon staring each other down with strong eyes. They fight and quarrel non-stop, and the office becomes a mess with their physical bantering. Then Kim Hye Soo knocks Joo Ji Hoon to the table and lifts him up by his tie. At the end, she clutches onto the back of his head and leans down as if she’s going to kiss him. The intense tension between the two creates questions about their relationship.

 

 

The drama also released a behind-the-scene video of the two actors posing for the posters.

Kim Hye Soo showcases Jung Geum Ja’s signature arrogant smirk as she poses in various bold outfits. In the interview portion, she describes the drama, saying, “Although it is a story of lawyers, it is more of a character drama than a legal one. I think it will be interesting to see how the characters face and confront each situation.” She also added the characters are witty, charming, and strong.

On the other hand, Joo Ji Hoon poses in a sleek suit that fits his crafty character Yoon Hee Jae. The actor says, “Like the drama title, my character may seem like a bad hyena that searches for rotten meat, but in a way, he’s also like a puppy.”

Fighting kicks into high gear in new promos for SBS’s Hyena

More promos have been released for SBS’s upcoming drama Hyena, featuring the lead actors in a new poster and fun new video teaser.

The drama stars Kim Hye-soo (Signal) and Joo Ji-hoon (Item) as rival lawyers in an industry where money is the key to winning and the competition is ruthless and hard-boiled. As a result of this fierce environment, the lawyers of the story become like hyenas in the wild who do whatever it takes to fight and survive.

However, although Kim Hye-soo and Joo Ji-hoon’s characters are rivals, their relationship is also complicated. As suggested by both the newly released poster and teaser, the tension between the two can be read in different ways. And the lines are blurred whether the two are fighting, dancing, or gearing up for something more intimate.

 

The video starts with Kim Hye-soo and Joo Ji-hoon standing face-to-face and warming up for a fight. The caption introduces their characters as: “Jung Geum-ja vs. Yoon Hee-jae.” In a sequence of shots, we see the two fighting in their office like children in a schoolyard brawl: sneering, taunting, yanking, biting, etc. Text appears intermittently on the screen explaining that there are “No rule. No mercy. No manners.”

Cut to Kim Hye-soo throwing Joo Ji-hoon onto a desk. Pulling him up by his tie towards her, Kim grabs the back of Joo’s head and leans in close. The scene is intercut with text screens declaring, “Outbreak of war between the hyenas!” and “Hyena premieres February 21 at 10 p.m.” Returning to the two characters, the teaser closes with Kim Hye-soo still holding Joo Ji-hoon by his tie and she tilts her head down to give him a peck on the nose.

A new teaser for “Hyena” is here!

“Hyena” tells the story of competitive lawyers who hold the law in their minds but money in their hearts. Kim Hye Soo portrays money-hungry Jung Geum Ja while Joo Ji Hoon plays elite lawyer Yoon Hee Jae.

In the clip, Kim Hye Soo dons sunglasses as she stands in front of a tall building, while Joo Ji Hoon finds himself surrounded by reporters and photographers. The screen then zooms into words on a newspaper that says, “The troublesome world.”

As if to suggest that she’s the solution to this problem, Kim Hye Soo smirks next to a newspaper ad that says, “Grand opening! Who will take care of your mess? Quietly taking care of your mess! Sleep soundly! Appointment necessary.”

The phone rings and Kim Hye Soo walks into a party. She enthusiastically introduces herself as someone who’s loyal to her clients and dances on top of the table. In contrast to her friendly service, Joo Ji Hoon asks with a scoff, “Loyalty to clients?” as he coldly walks by his clients.

He mocks Kim Hye Soo by accusing her of classifying as an insect, but she keeps her chin high and states, “I’m a lawyer too.” She lets out her rage in the privacy of her own home and he does a celebratory dance outside of his apartment.

“This isn’t like the world you lived in,” warns Joo Ji Hoon. “This is my home ground.” They continue to face off in and out of the courtroom, and he yells at her for going after money without any regard for self-esteem. The clip concludes with a warning that she’s not afraid to get dirty. She cheekily asks him, “Do you know what a mudbath is, Lawyer Yoon?”

 I always thought they will fall in love. I always assumed that they were rivals at work (like in a competition) and both headstrong but slowly they will start to change their feelings. I will be susprise that it is not the case here. I usually have a good instinct about what I will get to see. Now that seeing the trailers, I don`t have a different feeling. But it is more comedy than I original expected.

Upcoming SBS drama “Hyena” has released a behind-the-scenes look of Kim Hye Soo and Joo Ji Hoon filming their teaser video!

The new drama tells the survival story of competitive lawyers who hold the law in their minds but money in their hearts. Kim Hye Soo plays money-hungry Jung Geum Ga while Joo Ji Hoon plays elite lawyer Yoon Hee Jae.

The teaser involved the two actors engaging in a physical battle, and they worked through the moves with a stunt coordinator. Though it took a few tries for them to get their coordination right, they were able to get it right and during breaks, would suggest small alterations to make the scene more action-packed and realistic.

Though things were heated between the two characters, the two actors were laughing and having a great time as they monitored their work.

“Hyena” is about the fierce competition between lawyers who use their knowledge of the law to pursue their ambitions for money. Joo Ji Hoon portrays Yoon Hee Jae, a lawyer who has enjoyed success and an elite life. He is full of pride and confidence as the ace of Korea’s most powerful law firm Song & Kim.

 

In the new stills, Yoon Hee Jae is wearing a sleek suit that embodies his perfectionist character, and his expression and posture exudes confidence. He breaks through a crowd of reporters and heads into the courthouse. The public attention of his case shows his high position as an ace lawyer.

 

The production crew said, “Yoon Hee Jae is the top elite of the elite lawyers. The scene of his first appearance will overwhelm viewers as Yoon Hee Jae’s abilities and position combines with actor Joo Ji Hoon’s aura. Please watch how perfect lawyer Yoon Hee Jae will change when he meets Jung Geum Ja [Kim Hye Soo], who has lived a life opposite of his.”

 

Joo Ji Hoon also revealed three reasons why he chose to appear in “Hyena.”

First, the actor said, “‘Hyena’ appears to be a legal drama, but it is not a drama that is tied to the courts alone. It’s a serious but humorous drama, and it’s also sincere but not heavy, so I think viewers will enjoy it.” He shared that the people he would be working with was one of the reasons why he didn’t hesitate to accept the role. He commented, “There’s Kim Hye Soo as well as producing director [PD] Jang Tae Yoo, so there was no reason not to [star in it].”

 

The second reason why Joo Ji Hoon was drawn to the drama was because of his character Yoon Hee Jae. The actor explained, “Yoon Hee Jae is considered a top elite in the legal profession, but you can’t tell if he’s a hyena or a dog, and if he’s a dog, you don’t know if he’s a small one or a big one. I thought that was charming.”

Hwang Bora will be absent from the production presentation of SBS's new drama “Hyena”.

Hwangbora tried to attend the production presentation of Hyena scheduled for the 21st, but decided not to attend. An official of SBS explained, “We do not attend due to internal circumstances such as schedule issues.”

Reporters speculate that actress Hwang Bo Ra cancelled her drama press conference attendance due to Ha Jung Woo's propofol scandal

On February 19, it was revealed that actress Hwang Bo Ra has decided not to attend the press conference for her upcoming SBS drama 'Hyena', scheduled to take place this February 21. 

 

While SBS simply stated that Hwang Bo Ra's press conference attendance has been cancelled due to "internal matters", media reporters speculated that Hwang Bo Ra decided not to attend the public event due to actor Ha Jung Woo's recent propofol scandal. 

 

Actress Hwang Bo Ra is currently in a public relationship with former singer Cha Hyun Woo (Kim Young Hoon), who is Ha Jung Woo (Kim Sung Hoon)'s younger brother. Hwang Bo Ra and Ha Jung Woo are also artists under the same agency, Work House, where Cha Hyun Woo is an executive. Earlier this week, Ha Jung Woo was revealed as the actor under suspicion of "abusing" the medical drug propofol. Furthermore, the scandal is receiving even more criticism as the actor was accused of using his younger brother's name for his prescription. 

Reporters are speculating that Hwang Bo Ra will not be making public appearances involving press for a while in order to avoid questions about her boyfriend and Ha Jung Woo.
