MayanEcho
ctto I've previously seen the 2021 edition wherein the main cast were in blue robes rather the trademark pink for the opening number Hiraritu Sakura. The Takizawa Kabuki Zero 2020 movie is incredible with all the colours and fanfare. Members of the main cast Snow Man played characters in different acts as either protagonists and antagonists. 🙂
rocher22
Usogui I dont like the genre and some scenes and characters are pretentious. But all in all, I liked the movie. Baku and Kijo were so likeable and nice. The guy with the Rubik's Cube was interesting. The ending...it seems to me that Baku is the new Leader of the Club, but Im not sure. I expected more of his backstory.
rocher22
A Gentle Breeze In The Village (2007) Although it is an old drama, that was a peaceful and delightful watch. The Tokyo trip I liked that the FL bought the '' loose socks'' as a gift for her friends...
MayanEcho
@CarolynH @kingpin @rocher22 First teaser unveiled! Casino resort, the first in Japan! 😆 Ooo, this is somewhat like C-ent's booting ceremony when a drama production starts. All good things being said by the author, illustrator, and director of the movie. They're impressed with Meguro Ren as Haru and Hayato Sano as Gaku in the official website of Trillion Game movie. 🤗 1
CarolynH
@MayanEcho Woo hoo! but 2025 . Yeah, let's start a thread for Trillon Games! There wasn't one for the drama, right? Can we combine both in one thread? Maybe not since the drama already aired. 1

Even if TG1 aired last year, it's connected to the upcoming movie, and there's a strong chance of TG2 as well. I'm a bit amused that they're going to go for casino business, after taking over Dragon Bank conglomerate. 😅
MayanEcho
Now that I'm looking at it, can the Lambo's plate be a clue on when might TG movie release in theaters on 2025? Japan's spring season starts by March... 😌
rocher22
Love and Honor (2006) It was a good samurai movie but a little slow-paced. I liked the relationship between the ML and his old servant. ''The new kitchen girl'' was an unexpected and kind of surprising twist. Every meal of that Lordship was a true ceremony. Another slow-paced samurai movie, but very bloody.... Rurouni Kenshin : The Beginning (2021) The story is nothing new, the ML is soft-hearted assassin, the FL wants revenge but she falls in love with the ML. Anyway, I liked how their relationship developed naturally. The cast was very good, especially the actor (the ML from Heaven and Hell) 1
CarolynH
I thought it was a drama, so I think I mentioned Drawing Closer-a young man with a year to live meets a young woman with 6 months to live. I didn't really want to watch it, bc I knew it would be a tear jerker. I do cry easily, but strangely, I didn't. I think bc I saw it more about hope, cherish the present rather than the oh on someone is dying. I think it's worth the watch. On Netflix
CarolynH
Not sure if this is technically a Japanese movie. It's a Japanese-German production from what I read. Regardless, I highly recommend Perfect Days on Hulu. It's a slice of life, character study. The protagonist works for Tokyo Toilets; yes, you guess it, cleaning the public toilets. You see his life morning to evening and the weekends. He takes joy in taking pictures of trees (he's growing some trees in his apt), listening to cassette tapes with 70s music and reading. You may think it sounds boring, but I stayed up late watching, captivated. I still have about 15 minutes left. I think the viewer will be left with some questions about his back story. CarolynH
Another recommendation on Hulu, Amazon Prime and Apple TV. Shoplifters. Very very good. A family isn't always related by blood. cr: Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing
