Started with some fighting scenes...we see King Sookjong . Sookbin Choi  and Lee In-Jwa ...we have the game from preview...Dae GIL vs Lee In-Jwa ...the game did not end well ...and the players guards will start a fight Kim Che-Gun Dae gil guard fighting LIJ guards...we finally get some flashbacks and we get to know Sookbin Choi  and her husband...he is such a loser ,womanizer...she is upset their fight is watched by evil Lee In-Jwa ...some men later kidnapped Sookbin Choi ...and her loser husband meets a woman he calls noona ...she wants something from him to do...

Lee In-Jwa kidnapped her...they met...this evil man wants to make a deal with her...wants her to leave the gambler and seduce the king...yes she will enter to the palace and will follow that evil man plan...we remember how the king met Sookbin Choi... in this drama everything was this man plan

wow she finally meets the king ...we hear that evil man voice telling her how to act...finally the king asked her name...their talk is interupted by the queen voice...king can't forget the maid ...a painter draws her

i also saw some  scene with her beeinG one of palace maids ...king is acting like a stalker...the gambler is such a loser ...lost his money...his wife is upset and agrees with that evil man plans...now back to the palace...He showed her draw...yes the king just can't forget her...asked about her past...is beeing informed i bet was a fabricated story...the queen is mad ...punished her and threw her out the palace...gambler ''sister/noona'' was waiting at the gate

The baby switch is for a dead baby

According to the 40 minutes preview, the Scriptwriter (I think) mentioned that Dae Gil is actually Choi Suk Bin first born son Prince Yeongsu from Sukjong who died young (born in 1693). Prince Yeoning (Yi Geum, her 2nd son) comes later in 1694

Sukjong took Choi Suk Bin as Consort in 1693

In 1694, 2 historical occurrences happens, Queen Jang was demoted to her former title Jang Hee Bin & the return of Queen Inhyeon as Queen Consort. Choi Suk Bin gave birth to Prince Yeoning (later Yeongjo)

So this is up to the Scriptwriter in providing us with great dramatic license 

We also will get to see the famous depiction of Jang Hee Bin attempts to drown Choi Suk Bin in the water urn

Episode 1

It starts with the year 1728, it is the fictitious Yi In Gwa Revolt (난, 亂 , usurpation).

History in 1728, Yeongjo had already ascended the throne in 1724. As you can see the guards are dress in mourning clothing means that Crown Prince Hyojang (1719-1728, Yeongjo first Crown Prince) had died 

Dae Gil confronts Yi In Gwa with a game of Chinese chess ( syangchi, 샹치, 象棋).....in the end...Dae Gil sigh that Yi In Gwa is really obstinate as the world belongs to the people where he hold the smallest piece/pawn (졸 ,卒) in the chinese chess

Then a playback on how it all began......
