I usually only watch 1 version of drama, but reading here in this forum that Nicky Wu is the one who played 4th prince on chinese version made me want to watch that drama as well. But I'm not quite sure yet. I believe I liked Nicky Wu's role before but I haven't remembered yet which drama.

The C version is BuBu Xing Zing and Nicky played the 4th Prince whom now married to the actress who played Rouxi. It was a treat to watch .... I rewatched it at least twice after my first watch. Highly recommend it ...

The Star-Crossed Moon Lovers

It’s in this moment when Hae Soo sees both brothers for what they really are; as if the rain had the cleansing power to wash away all pretenses and lies and remove all masks, leaving only the brutal truth and harsh reality.

The 8th Prince who abandons her because he doesn’t love her enough and his brother who defies another one of the king’s orders (he defied so many already I stopped counting them) because HE LOVES HER TOO MUCH, MORE THAN HIS OWN LIFE - the feared 4th Prince Wang So, the Wolf Dog, who is shielding her body with his own and standing by her side in the pouring rain as an immovable wall, unchanging, unwavering, loyal beyond fault, devoted and steadfast in his love for her.

The constancy and strength of his affection and feelings for the whole world to see. Wook, the morning sun whose light gets diminished by gathering clouds and So, the star which shines even in the darkest night.

“Sometimes, I think of the sun and moon as lovers who rarely meet, always chase, and almost always miss one another. But once in a while, they do catch up, and they kiss, and the world stares in awe of their eclipse.” 

The visual symbolism of the whole moment between So and Soo in the rain resembles that of the celestial meeting between the sun and moon at the beginning of the story - the day and the night, the burning sun and the ice-cold moon - two celestial bodies that shouldn’t meet on the same sky (with water once again serving as the medium of the meeting). Just like them,Wang So and Hae Soo are the complete opposites, born under different stars with 1000 years separating them, who should never meet, yet here they are under the same sky and they are perfect, completing each other.

He’s a prince, she is lower than a commoner; a modern girl and a man destined to be a king; a killer and a healer. Wang So is often compared to the sun because of his royal descend, but in their relationship it’s Hae Soo who is the sun, HIS SUN, HIS LIGHT, and he is the moon because it’s the sun’s light which allows the moon to shine in the darkness, in a darkness where he’d lived before she entered his life. And now he is in the rain, holding her in his arms (shielding her, just like the moon shields the sun with its darkness), trying to protect that light against the whole world and against nature itself.

One of the comments earlier mentioned Kang Ha Neul in Empire of Lust so I looked up the trailer and a cut scene on Youtube.

Current thoughts: I can never see him and Kang Ha Na/Yeonhwa in the same light again.

1. Siblings?! The transition is so different

2. I thought Ha Neul was just a giggly little cutiepie. Never thought he could and would do scenes like the ones in that movie

hello!! 834 pages already? guess this is one of those super fast moving threads.....

just checked out moon lovers because I found the recaps of the last two eps interesting and the drama surprised me. visually pretty and well written. the characters seem to be well thought out... thought So's character would be frustrating but she wasn't. and her reactions made sense. can tell why she likes wook (since he is like big brother and protecting her) but is obvious that the slow burn draw is towards Su. he has her attention and so does she. it is almost like she forgets that she is So with him and reacts more like her modern character go jin or whatever her name was... and yup, lee jun ki is absolutely magnetic as Su that he kind of outshines everyone else. kekeke...

but based on the last episode recap, while Su does his batman protection, Wook walks away right? well, watching the first two episodes, noticed something -- wook tells his wife that he feels happy with Su and she is a bit surprised. he tells her that theirs is a heavy household and everyone comes to depend on him. so he finds So a fresh breath of air because she said she will do it on her own. so, his initial attraction towards her is based on the fact that she does not depend on him or expect him to fix her problems. so perhaps his walking away from her was inevitable. at least in the earlier episodes, she is not consciously looking to wook to solve her problems and it is her independent nature that makes him laugh and feel free... but as soon as she looks to him/depends on him, he finds himself in a position where he has to weigh the scales and see who he can help first. so if she was ever to be with wook, she would never have to really depend on him in order for him to stay by her side... anyways, just a random thought since I have only watched 2 1/2 episodes so far...

loooool @ the mv of the bromance triangle of WW, WS and baek ah. I'm sure after this drama would be over there would be fan fics of baek ah and wang so.   That aside I just wanted to point out that I don't think the anger that WW feels is entirely jealousy, he's jealous, but he's mostly angry because he can clearly see WS is a better man for Soo. He definitely loves Soo, in his way, but it can never be as amazing and passionate as WS's love for her and he knows once she feels that, she could fall for WS instead. And thats probably the whole plot of this drama anyway lol. Waiting super impatiently... for our OTP to finally just BE TOGETHER and have their marriage and their baby away from the troublesome kingdom, and keep baek ah with them to be the cool uncle to their kid. Prolly not gonna happen though haha

I miss the different emotion buttons ... no I do not miss the  bad ones or the one you could brand a person for posting something "not nice" ... but the lol or the heart ... I too don't want her to die without Wang So by her side and so they both can have closure in the end  @kilovekyo. They both deserve closure because oh how much they love each other. Hae Soo will miserable without him if she leaves him. smh smh  

 Nicely said chingu @Adnana  I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the symbolism of WS scar and in truth all the princes have a daily routine and none of them would ever leave their room untidy. IN this era Look are always important to them and the public.

@Lmanglanot random really, but insightful. Wookie is conflicted.... because he does have ambition and has responsibilities as the first born male to be the head of his family and probably his clan. I will not elaborate since I don't want to spoil your viewing cause you only watched 2eps but yes you are on the right track....
