Thanks for clarifing that... being an Indian i can certainly support that point 100%.. in India siblings be it half or cousin cant be married at any cost (there are few exceptions in southern states where cousin from mother's side can be married but that do has some conditions, that I am not sure of cause not from southern part)

I think LJG always treats his co-stars nicely, tbh last year I was shipping him with LYB for RL because he's also very touchy and treated her so sweetly (from the BTS), but poor LYB got bashed so hard by anti-fans, so bad until she was forced to closed her IG. 

This time, IU got some haters, but she already a star and got lots of fans, she can handle scandals, actually she has more scandals than LJG, so I guess it's ok for the production team to release their cute BTS together to boost the drama. I think LJG treats her and all the other actors like seniors to juniors. He's always being nice to everyone. 

So this time I won't ship them IRL..... (even I really want to...LOL)

Aside from HS, WS, WW, etc, I feel that WM or the CP is genuinely nice and seemed really worried about WS over the poisoning incident. He visited WS along with BA and Jimong and made himself clear in front of the King and the Evil Minister.  He never doubted HS. He also threw a birthday party for the 10th prince.  It is sad that he'll most likely to die soon.  He could be a great ally for WS & HS. Why must the good ones leave so soon?  I miss Lady Oh and soon I'll be missing WM (but not as much as LO).  He's one of those characters who do not get much screen time yet I never felt bothered by his presence unlike Won and Woo Hee.

Will binge watch BTS scenes in a few. Will put on my glasses so i can clearly see it. I can only hope it's more than just sisterly love. But in actuality i support them whoever they choose to be with.

@penelop3 I like how you pointed out the change in Hae Soo's hairstyle & pin and that it represents the change in her status. Your post made me think, besides Hae Soo's hair, there is also the change of her clothes that somehow represent her journey and growth in this era.

I'm not from psychology or fashion major, so I don't know if this is right or wrong. I do have an interest in psychology but my knowledge is very limited. I hope some of you eclipses esp. those in psychology can give me your million dollars opinion about this.  And I'm so sorry if someone already talked about this before... Please let me know if you do.

6 STAGE OF GO HAE JIN (HAE SOO) GROWTH

 

1) BEGINNING

INNOCENT, PURE, IDEALIST, WARM, FUNNY, FEISTY, SPIRITED, CHEERFUL, KIND, STRONG-MINDED

In this stage, she often wears clothes that have this eye catching style. Like furs (above picture), contrast/bright colors, full pastel colors, cute but simple accessories, patterned clothes, even her white pajamas have this beautiful transparent fabric for the hands that adds to the luxury. The clothes she wears complimented her personality. At this stage, she is showing her determination to live a whole new life that somehow presented itself to her by the form of Hae Soo and leave her life as Go Hae Jin behind. In this stage she have the protection of Wang Wook, guides from Myung Hee, and help from Chae Ryung. She is still seeing things from her perspective as a future modern woman, and doesn't understand the rules played by people in Goryeo. That's why all the meetings with 4th prince started to opened her eyes to some reality in Goryeo, but she hasn't opened her hearts to that harsh reality yet, thus makes her still the idealist from modern century.

 

2) OPTIMISM

INNOCENT, FEISTY, WARM, IDEALIST, FRIENDLY, CHEERFUL, KIND, SPIRITED

In this stage, she is only wearing this polka dots yellow and green Damiwon uniform, that somehow fits with her character. I've read some meaning about colors from a psychology website, it states something like this :

Yellow is the color of the mind and the intellect. It is optimistic and cheerful. However it can also suggest impatience, criticism and cowardice.

Green is the color of balance and harmony. Green is also the color of growth, the color of spring, of renewal and rebirth. And also the color of trees that our 4th prince so conveniently likes.

Still not enough explanation?

Before she wears this tons of layers for clothes that I interpreted as she is still in the closed idealist world she created herself, but in this uniform she shook off all of those layers so that she can finally be opened to the outside world. In this stage she already knows some of Goryeo reality. She is now all alone, without the protection of Wang Wook, Myung Hee, or Chae Ryung. She learns that the best person to save her from trouble is herself. Even if it's like that, she still keeps her optimist attitude, said I can handle it all. I fits right in at Damiwon, she said. I can finally use my ability here, and I still can be with people I love. She wanted to be optimistic but she only see the good side of palace life but somehow denied the bad side of palace life. Proven by how she ignore the "One of this prince will someday become Gwangjong" stuff. Thankfully, Goryeo harsh truth started to hit her little by little, she learns that optimism alone is not enough to survive at the prison we called palace. At the form of Lady Oh, she learns how to grow. Lady Oh is the one who teaches her to learn her place and teaches her that she must sacrifice her innocence to this palace. By that, slowly little by little Hae Soo started to change.

 

3) CONFUSION

CONFUSION, ANXIETY, SCARED, DENIAL, STILL IDEALIST

Sorry guys I just.. I can't give pretty analysis about her character in this part of the story because my emotion and empathy for Wang So is taking control and just like him I'm also confused about her attitude, though I read some posts talking about her reason and personality and nodding when reading that, still when I re:watched it my emotion is taking control, and I forgot about those reason. Like wth is happening to you girl? Hahahaha Okay sorry. I'll still try.

She wears the upgraded version of Damiwon uniform, with red and (cmiiw) dark green as the color of the uniform. And here's another interesting color psychology about it :

Red is the color of energy, passion and action. This color is a warm and positive color associated with our most physical needs and our will to survive.

There is a degree of resentment in Dark green. Often used by wealthy businessmen, ambitious and always striving for more wealth, dark green signifies greed and selfish desire.

Right, in this stage, those harsh reality of Goryeo is finally sinking in. She is not ignoring the possibility of future conflict called Gwangjong. Throws those visions to the way and ta daah the scary future is sinking in. She started to get anxious, and see Wang So as threats to her surviving in this era, because in this stage she is in love with Wang Wook, and she accept Wang Wook as a person who can protect her. She knows she likes Wang So, but her greed to have everything as it is without changing anything and her selfish desire to protect the one she love made her become aggressive towards Wang So, thus hurting him. At the same time she also can't leave him alone and always being drawn to him, thus, the confusion. Such a dilemma of Korean drama Heroine. Also, in this stage she is still very much an idealist, as proven by her words that said Wook will never change and can make her happy. This denial, idealist, confusion thing is also very confusing for me so sorry if my words doesn't make sense. Haha

 

4) THE START OF A NEW JOURNEY

DESTRUCTION OF IDEALISM

That white color she wore indicates new beginning for her. In this case, new beginning of her perception towards life in Goryeo. All of her beliefs before are crumbling just like that. First the man she thought was a problem was risking his life to safe her. Second the woman who always been a reminder for her, and act as her sole protector died for her. Third the man who she believed as her love and protector, turned away from her. If those thing can't opened her eyes and hearts to the reality and her mistake all this time then what can?

 

POSSIBILITY OF FUTURE GROWTH

5) SURRENDER

 

SURRENDERING, REPENTING, CLOSED-UP, SADNESS, LONELINESS

So, she wore this washing maid uniform, with Purple and Pinkish Blush for it's color. Let's see what it means :

Purple/Violet relates to the imagination and spirituality. It stimulates the imagination and inspires high ideals. It is an introspective color, allowing us to get in touch with our deeper thoughts.

Blush Similar to skin color, this very pale pink has sensual and sexual connotations. It is non-threatening but lacks passion and energy.

Do I see a lot of spirituality here? Oh yeah. In this stage of the story, I'm guessing she still hasn't accepted all those horrible things that happened to her. She just surrendered to it. That's why she will seclude herself, trying to sort her thoughts, getting away from all of the complications for a while. This is so fitting with description above, her trying to get in touch with her deeper thoughts. All those things happening at Episode 11 are gonna take away her passion and energy. Gone the Hae Soo we know from the beginning, replaced by a whole new Hae Soo. She won't have the energy to bring change to Goryeo, as she decently put. I think she will be more passive and careful in this stage, lacks of passion and energy and all. But you don't have to worry Wang So got plenty of passion and energy for both of them to make babies.

 

6) ACCEPTANCE

MATURE, ELEGANCE, STRONG-WILLED, CALMNESS, TRANQUILITY

Judging by this picture by the director, gone Hae Soo's barrage of layers from the start and uniforms all replaced by this mature, elegant clothes.

White is color at its most complete and pure, the color of perfection. The color meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion.

In my wild guess, At this stage, she already sorted out her thoughts and accept everything's that has been happening to her. She becomes more mature, more wise, more elegant, and more sophisticated. Because of her acceptance, she can bring back some of her personality from before, though not all. I actually wanted her to be feisty to evil Yeon Hwa like the start of this drama but I'm guessing it's quite hard because she already learned where she stands.

I concur with this view. When Yinzhen became emperor it wasn't that his love for Ruoxi diminished, rather the great power enabled him to protect her better than when he was a prince. But this upgraded protection hurt other people that Ruoxi cared for. So being together became unbearable. Would So be able to stand by seeing Soo hurt by her loved ones?

As his role becomes more prominent, Wang So will face this dilemma. He is going to decide one thing is more important that another. Wook already faced this question, and many are now calling him a coward, greedy and not trustworthy. Let's see how So will do in the future.
