Park Ha Sun Confirmed for ‘Temptation’
parkhasun_temptation.jpg

In light of Yoon Eun Hye’s unavailability to shoot the drama Temptation because of movie obligations (she’s shooting “Chronicle of a Blood Merchant”), Park Ha Sun has stepped in to take over the role of Kwon Sang Woo‘s wife. It’s about time they cast the other lead in this uncomfortable love triangle, as the drama is set to air quite soon.
Park will play Na Hong Joo, the wife to the sacrificing Cha Seok Hoon (Kwon Sang Woo), who gets himself involved with another woman, Yoo Se Young (Choi Ji Woo). I think it’s quite exciting to see Kwon and Choi back together again onscreen after Stairway to Heaven. I get this feeling that Choi will out-act Kwon Sang Woo by miles, as she’s proven that she can do some comedy and is willing to go out of her usual acting territory for a role. (See: The Suspicious Housekeeper.) Perhaps this might make Kwon a better actor too and encourage him to act better than looking like a tortured victim all the time.
Granted, I have not watched a Kwon Sang Woo drama in a long time. Mainly because I don’t feel like watching him be a tortured victim all the time.
I have no doubts that Park will knock the role out of the park as she could totally pull off being a demure wife with guts (if the script calls for some gutsy action from the heroine). I do think it’s a bit of an odd pairing, but then again the drama may not center on her so much as Choi Ji Woo, and so we won’t necessarily be seeing her quite often with Kwon Sang Woo. I do admire that Park likes to pick diverse roles. She’s done historicals, comedy, sitcom, and action. And now she’s delving into really melodramatic territory here and starring with two of the biggest Hallyu stars of all time. It’s a pretty sweet gig.
Temptation is slated to air on July 14 on SBS.

Park Ha-sun completes Temptation’s love squareby girlfriday ParkHaSun1.jpg

Confirmations are in for the main cast of SBS’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday dramaTemptation, starring Kwon Sang-woo (Medical Top Team) as a man caught between his wife and a chaebol heiress who makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Choi Ji-woo(Suspicious Housekeeper) is playing the heiress, and Lee Jung-jin (Hundred Year Inheritance) has signed on to play Kwon Sang-woo’s rival. The latest addition to the cast is Park Ha-sun (Three Days), who will be taking the role that Yoon Eun-hye ultimately turned down, as Kwon Sang-woo’s wife.

Park Ha-sun plays a woman from a poor family who was resigned to her fate, when she met Kwon Sang-woo who brought happiness and hope into her life. They’re a close loving couple, and she’s described as calm and understanding, almost to a fault. She’s always the first to sacrifice and make concessions, but it’s probably an understatement to say that their relationship hits the rocks when her husband takes an offer from Choi Ji-woo to clear his debt in exchange for entrusting his body in her care.

Park Ha Sun Replaces Yoon Eun Hye In

Only a few days after Yoon Eun Hye decided she could not fit the drama “Temptation” into her filming schedule, actress Park Ha Sun was confirmed as her replacement.

In “Temptation,” Park Ha Sun will play the role of Na Hong Joo. In the drama she is married to Cha Suk Hoon, played by Kwon Sang Woo, and her character is always happy to do whatever her husband wants. She grew up in a poor home and marrying Cha Suk Hoon has greatly improved her life. She loves her husband and is grateful for the life he has given her. But her love will be tested when her debt-ridden husband sells himself to another woman to avoid financial ruin.

Choi Ji Woo, last seen in “The Suspicious Housekeeper,” will play the heiress Se Young. She meets the happily married Cha Suk Hoon and his wife in Hong Kong and offers to pay off his debt if he will submit to her. To save his family, Cha Suk Hoon accepts the deal, but it”s a deal that may ultimately cost him his family.

It”s not clear exactly what “submit to her” means but it sounds a lot like cheating and it will probably feel that way to his wife.

Having spent her life as a busy career woman, the workaholic Se Young never managed to fall in love. Playboy Kang Min Woo, to be played by Lee Jung Jin, tried to seduce her but had no luck. She never cared for anyone until she met Cha Suk Hoon.

At first it seemed as if the drama would feature a love triangle, composed of Kwon Sang Woo”s character, his drama wife and the woman who buys him, but a new plot twist has been revealed. “Temptation” will have a complicated love square. Kang Min Woo, the playboy that wanted to woo Se Young, will fall for Hong Joo and want to become a better person because of her.

Park Ha Sun debuted in the 2005 drama “Love Needs A Miracle” and became a star after her role in the 2010 historical drama “Queen Inhyun.” Park Ha Sun has appeared in a few dramas a year for the last seven years. She was last seen as a police detective helping Park Yoochun in the political thriller “Three Days” and as Lee Jun Ki first love in the melodrama “Two Weeks.”

Choi Ji Woo and Kwon Sang Woo previously co-starred in the 2003 hit drama “Stairway to Heaven.” He was last seen in “Medical Top Team” and “Queen of Ambition.”

The drama will follow “Doctor Stranger.”
