  1. @4evrkdrama Yep, I meant what @agenth said. If you watch the two dramas, you'd  realize it was totally  unfair to not give the  award to NGM.

@agenth, Chingu, please  don't  get me started  on Jang Hyuk. :wub:This has to be one of my most favourite days on this forum. I get to talk about all my favourite  ultimate  Ahjussi oppas. You all made my day. Thank you everyone. Both @gm4queen and @agenth chingu have recommended  so must watch.

@Sleepy Owl I have added 'Falsify' too. Wasn't aware of it.

  2. Hwang Jung Eum was good in 'She was Pretty' . I was rooting for the SL Choi Si-won. He totally deserved the girl. I don't like the ML. He looks too perfect to me. CSW is another great actor. His comic timing is unmatchable.

Coming back to Hwang Jung Eum, I agree she takes the craziness to a whole new level. And she hasn't done anything new. I think she wants to be like Julia Roberts, the rom-com queen but Julia Roberts has  played a variety of roles, though in the same genre. In fact, she later on reinvented herself because she was tired of being typecast. Secret Love is definitely Hwang Jung Eum best. I am yet to see anything impressive. She was Pretty, the credit goes to Choi Si-won. He was daebak.

Recently, I tried 'Mystic Pop-up Bar', disappointed and dropped it immediately. My friends didn't like her much in 'secret Love' and criticize her for only shedding copious tears instead of doing any real acting. But I think she did well. That back hug will forever remain imprinted in my memory.

@agenthI too was reluctant because not a fan of baseball. But I gave it a try just for Namgoong Min. I am sure his next drama would be a good one. I am getting that feeling.:D Can't wait to see him as a secret agent.

Both Namgoong Min and Choi Si-won are natural actors. They try to get into the character they are playing.  Hwang Jung Eum on the other hand goes over the top with her acting. She needs to notch it down a bit and try something different. Agree with @partyon there.

@4evrkdrama I disagree. I liked him in 'When the Camellia Blooms' but I don't think he deserved the very prestigious Best Actor award at the 56th Baeksang Arts. His role wasn't that exceptional compared to NGM in Hot Stove League. He was in a league of his own and he deserved the award.

  3. OMO-OMO! What is happening? The first video melted my heart. It is so sweet, so gentle. At the same time, the second video is giving me palpitations. What is happening?:tears: I had enough of that evil Vice-Premier . An assassination planned and executed in front of so many? He is such a despicable man! I hope BW survives, please God, please and takes revenge and clears his family's name. Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This has been proven by the Vice Premier. Can the King please stand up for once and not be putty in his hands and that Court Lady? He is such a puppet King, playing into the hands of the VP all the time! Let our BW win too sometimes!:tears:

  4. @partyon'Secret Love' is my guilty pleasure. I have watched and re-watched it a million times. It is that good. I think I have driven Netflix mad requesting them to get that drama back. :naughty: #asorrynotsorry I followed your re-watch event on 'Secret Love'. Not that I needed any prodding. :D However, at the same time, I must confess I hated  'Kill Me, Heal Me'. I found it very disappointing. I think after coming off the high in 'secret Love', it seemed lackluster for sure. I get brickbats when I suggest 'Secret Love' but I am glad we have so many people who actually loved it. Please watch Beautiful Gong Shim. It was a rom-com, genuinely funny. :D

@joccu Yep, I am excited about the new drama. The plot seems intriguing and he seldom lets us down. Have you watched Hot Stove League? He is brilliant there. He gets into the character so well. I hope they extend it. Didn't they extend for Doctor Prisoner?

@gm4queen I have a thing for ahjussi oppas. All my favourite oppas are 'sadly' ahjussis. How is Awaken? I didn't find any favourable reviews and plot didn't sound too interesting. Should I give it a try? Did you watch 'Hot Stove League'. That's worth a watch too, after 'Doctor Prisoner'. Goodnight chingu.

  5. @Sleepy OwlMay I suggest Hot Stove League? He was so dashing in that drama. Great story and of course his amazing acting. I binge watched and finished in three days. It was soooooo gripping.

Agreed, Undateables was Unwatchable. :tears: I try to watch most of his dramas but even I had to drop it. I became a huge fan of Hwang Jung-eum after I watched 'Secret Love' so I decided to give it a try as it had two of my favourite actors. But, man, what a torture it was! :tears: I dropped it too immediately though it hurt to drop it. I have to drop Hwang Jung-eum from my automatic watch drama list as she hasn't been doing anything interesting lately.

I haven't watched 'Awaken' either. I didn't find the plot interesting enough. My first Namkoong Min was Beautiful Gong Shim. It was hilarious. Really liked the drama. I wish he would do some rom-coms (though not like Undateables, please) though intense dramas are definitely his forte.  I am avoiding 'A Girl Who Sees Smells' as I like him too much to see him as a villain. I don't think my poor heart can take it. I like him too much to see him play a heartless villain. :tears: Oh he was good in 'Good Manager' too. I am hoping his next drama would be as gripping as his previous one (Doctor Prisoner). The plot sounds interesting.

I never knew he was the bad guy. :tears: But then, yes, he isn't the conventionally handsome guy. Though in my eyes, he is super hot. Love that smirk of his. :D  #fangirl

I am also looking forward to Ji Sung's latest drama, 'Devil Judge'. The premise is intriguing.

  6. @Ameera AliGuilty as charged.    Give me a good story and  a good looking oppa and I am over the moon. :D I mean I am going to watch Season 2 of Love ft Marriage and Divorce just for Sung Hoon. I need to know what happened to the poor lost puppy, Sa-hyeon. I hope everyone kicks him to the curb, wife, mistress and parents. So that he grows up to be a man. He seems to be falling for the women like I do for the oppas in every drama I watch. :D

@Sleepy Owl: Guilty as charged again. :tears: I had eyes only for Ji Sung and that charming smile of his. *melting me softly' But I agree with you wrt 'Doctor Prisoner'. Namkoong Min, the ML was just out of the world. Not to mention what a fabulous actor he is! He is one of the finest actors. Love the way he brings about the subtle nuances through his expressions, his smile.  I loved the cat and mouse play between him and the villain. Loved, loved , loved how he was always one step ahead of the evil men.  Loved how he had planned everything from the very beginning, pre-planning his every move and the bad guys fell into his hands. Wish they would do a second season.

Too bad I missed the poll on Evil Villains. I had quite a few in my favourites list. Villains I love to Hate.

  7. Hello there! Love those stunning images!

So, I just completed EP 9 and I have a question. So I thought it was only BW  who had survived. Though there were mentions of a mother and a sister previously. So, my question is are they foster mother and foster sister? Last I remember, they beheaded his entire family. Why is the King so powerless and does the bidding of that evil  Vice Premier? The court politics is getting murkier. The astronomer has also fallen! BW's secret has been traded for.:tears:

Also, DY is playing a very dangerous game and getting involved, he is bringing more trouble to his SIL. I wish he would wake up and smell the coffee. He is annoyingly clingy and daft.

The Court Lady is such a two faced snake! I can't stand her two facedness.

  8. Hello again everyone! I am reading the posts in descending order. So, my response too is in that order.

First of all, those images of food! Salivating here! :D I dream of food!:heart3:

@WuzetianWow! That is stunning. However, did they use Photoshop to enhance the abs? Too much bronze powder. But, without nitpicking, that scene looks straight out of the Garden of Eden, with Eve and Satan. :wub:I don't know something in his gaze makes me think of him as Satan, trying to tempt and corrupt the pure and the innocent.:D

@Min2206 Me too chingu. Doom was dropped after I watched the first EP. I liked the ML in Shopping King Louie. He was adorably cute there. Didn't quite like the new drama. Though the star cast is soooo good looking. As for Bossam, just finished Ep9. There is a sense of ennui and I can't bring myself to watch it. I think it's the pace. I want things to happen . Otherwise, I lose my patience and interest. :tears:

@Lmangla Thanks for the update. I will watch EP10 soon since so much is happening again in the drama.  in 'Innocent Defendant', I could hardly recall Yuri. I mean she didn't have much to do. You blink and you miss kind. It was all about Ji Sung and that evil , evil, most villainous of villain. The other most evil, most villainous of villain was from Doctor Prisoner. They got on my nerves. Why don't you do an event on the most evil villains? @Lmangla @partyon @Sleepy Owl

@4evrkdrama. I feel the same. I am only watching two dramas airing at the moment. 'Bossam' and 'Mad For each Other'. I am slacking with Bossam but since there's a lot happening, I will catch up with the rest of the episodes. But one drama, I am really enjoying is 'Mad For Each Other'. I like the two leads. They have great chemistry and superb comic timing. I also like how they balance the episode with serious and comic issues. Most importantly, I love the slow burn romance between the two leads who are not blindingly beautiful that they would distract me. I sometimes get too distracted by the good looking couple to focus on the story. I mean how can anybody looking so perfect, not have a perfect life? Weird logic but I can't get over it. How are you liking it so far?

  9. Hi everyone!

Thank you for welcoming me so warmly. @twinkle_little_star, @Wuzetian, @joccu, @Thong Thin and everyone else. :heartxoxo:

@partyon That Thai lakorn looks intense. The evil lead has a lot more to do than the goody two shoes cry babe in the woods, Bella. Also the ML is a jerk. They should both dump him. The ending though... they are rewriting Erich Segal's ' Man, Woman and Child'. :lol:If I were an actress, I would play the evil witch. At least, there are things to do other than being a goody two shoes who cries her heart out.

@Ameera Ali That doll drama, is that a horror- comedy? That doll will give Chucky (from the Child's Play) a run for its money. I watched a really bizarre one a few months ago. I continued watching it just to see what heights it would scale in being totally loco and I was not disappointed. It was the weirdest, most bizarre, most disturbing drama I have seen till date. I am watching a light romance now YM/ OF office romance (Love Kome no Okite: Kojirase Joshi to Toshishita Danshi). Not bad. You can give it a try. It has a cute guy.

P.S.  I don't think Jang Nara was cheated on in the drama 'Oh My Baby'. :D

I, unfortunately, don't have an organized list of oppas. :tears: We must really sit down together and you must teach me this organizing/ categorizing. I am truly impressed. We share few oppas. But what I was really excited about was to see you include Ji Sung oppa and Nam Goong Min oppa. #oppaforever

  11. @4evrkdrama good mottos. But I am a traitor. :tears: I can't help but discard them once a drama ends.:tears: I am ready to pick where I left off in the next drama. :phew::D Please share your list. My most favourites are ajussis from old K-dramas. they have left an indelible mark on my very young and impressionable heart. Unfortunately, the new/ young oppas don't ignite that same feelings as the older ajussis did in the older dramas. I agree with @Lmanglathere.  Most of these young oppas are just a pretty face. Man-child , just the right word to describe them.

@joccuIs that him? My eyes! Oh my eyes! how could I not recognize him? :tears:#suchatraitor Oh that chiselled Greek God from FOE? How could my eyes fail to recognize him?:tears:

@partyon You should put me in ajussi fan category. I remember you all held an event on them. I voted for all my favourite ajussis. Ajussi never age! They are my one true love!

  12. @joccu Who is that hottie in your previous post? It's getting hot in here. :sweatingbullets:

@Sleepy Owl and @Calli Thank you for welcoming me. You all have such a wicked sense of humour. I have never laughed so much before.

@4evrkdramaLet's collect and discard them together, chingu. :naughty: There are plenty more oppas in the sea. I am a one drama oppa stand fan. Drama ends, my love ends. :phew: Till I see them again in some other drama. My utmost admiration  for the members of the royal club. #youguysareamazing

@agenth Yes, yes, the dog and the 50s couple's children. Very mature for their age. Lovely children. Such a shame the father is such a disgrace! Was there such a poll? I umm.. drawing the line there. Not interested in collecting him as an 'oppa'. Perhaps, a lovable uncle? :D

@partyon Do you have a love them, leave them category? Or perhaps, one drama oppa stand? Just give a pretty face and I'm good. Abs are bonus boo(n).

  13. Do I like abs? Is that even a question? I am offended, chingu! Why abs are life! :D My favourite scenes are always the MLs brooding shirtless in the shower. No, not because of abs. No, siree!  I am not so shallow!  But, because they are life defining moments! :D Contemplating such deep issues! Pick out any scene, do you not see the ML pondering over important decisions while cooling off? I would like to apply to the club, sajangnim @partyonand @Ameera Ali Let me quickly perm my hair and get my floral dresses to complete the look.:gangnamstyle:

@agenthI don't like anybody in the drama :tears: , except the 50s wife, and the 30s husband's parents. :lol:I just like the actor playing the 30s husband. He is cute with his floppy hair and puppy eyes, I am lost looks !!!!!!!  I wonder what the 40s snake of a husband is upto with his young sly mistress. He has it tough with his step mother eyeing him.   Never a dull moment in that man's life! Also, are we supposed to feel sympathy for any of the mistresses?

  14. Yes, I will watch it. Even if my blood pressure hits the roof.  I fast-forwarded it a lot in the first season once they spent the whole episode on the mistresses.  I hope the wives get rid of their GFN husbands and live a fabulous life, with/ without a new man who appreciates them and thinks they are amazing. You know, rubbing it in their face.  :naughty:

I really liked him in Suspicious Partner. He was kind cute. @agenth did recommend Love Struck highly to me a few days ago. I am guilty of not watching it yet. I think I should just for the sake of JCW.

I see @Ameera Ali, my chingu from Love: Featuring Marriage and Divorce. You made the episodes bearable with your gifs and funny comments. :D I am still collecting oppas, hence a confused heart. I watch a drama, I fall in love, I fall out. Not very loyal, I am afraid.

  17. This is a good drama. I really like the ML's character. He has temper issues, he knows it and is doing something about it. But he doesn't take it out on women, children or animals. I appreciate how hard he tries to rein his temper even when the FL is trying it constantly. He is easy going. Forgives and forgets.  Not one to hold any grudges. He feels repentance. He is basically a good guy.

FL is opening up to him. I am sad to see her cower and attempting to flee again. I hope the ML will give her his support and help her fight her demons. She can't be running away forever.

Love the interactions between the two leads. They are such natural actors. Not once do I feel that they are actors playing a character on television. But, what I love the most is how  the show tries to make people more accepting and understanding of other people's choices. (Samantha) It is their life, their choice. They are not really harming us with their choices, why not let them be, instead of looking at them suspiciously? Overall, a great easy on the eyes drama. Love it.

  18. @pad-hari and @shinkeru You guys are amazing! Those visuals are simply breathtakingly beautiful. I haven't watched the two episodes yet. I try to procrastinate for as long as I can so that I can savor it at leisure. you know like a morsel of your favorite food that you indulge in at your leisure, chewing it slowing and savoring every minute of it. Enjoying every bite; the explosion of different flavours, the texture , the aroma etc. Bossam is that kind of drama. You savor each minute of it. The amazing actors, the stunning cinematography and the haunting OST. It all packs a punch.

@LmanglaThanks for posting the translation. The subs don't do justice to the song. It is hauntingly beautiful. The whole composition captures the mood so well. A heart-broken lover forsaken by her lover, watching him leave her alone after a world of promises, entreating him to think it over one more time. :tears:

@pad-hari Thanks a lot for the rec. I am going to watch 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop' next. I found his drama, 'Munchies' on Netflix and was planning to watch it get my fix of JLW.   So many dramas to watch, so little time. :tears:

  19. @Lmangla Thank you. You definitely should. Let other people 'discover' this very talented artist. I tried watching his previous drama after falling in love with his natural acting but TBH, I had to drop it. I tried watching 'Cinderella and Four Knights. I don't think it really explored him as an actor. The role wasn't challenging enough. Thanks to the channel, I am discovering him and the various sides of this actor.

I agree he is such a versatile actor. He does these very emotional scenes very well. Be it the silent boat scene or gently holding the princess's face is his hands, as they look at each other teary-eyed. They both do these silent scenes so well. They convey so much through their look, their sighs, their gestures, they simply steal our hearts away.  Even the hug scene last week, that was so heartfelt. I think the way he portrays the character brings out the sincerity in BW's character, the goodness of his heart, his simplicity. I can't stop waxing lyrical about the actor. He has truly stolen our hearts.

  20. Thank you to all the members who keep posting images and videos of the drama. These keep us sane while we wait for the subs. I like watching them back to back so it's not until Tuesday/ Wednesday that I finally get around to watching the two episodes. It's a long, painful wait.  This is the best drama airing at the moment.

Also, I can't stop gushing over the trio in their dance video. I think I have watched it a million times already and can't stop grinning from ear to ear. They are adorable! My only complaint is that it was tooooo short! Could we please have a longer video of them dancing together? :D Pretty please...

A special shout out to @Lmangla. Thanks to you I can while my time watching JIW's YouTube channel. :D:wub: A man who can cook. :o I am completely smitten by him.

  21. Finally watched the second and third episodes. It perfectly balances the comedy with some serious issues. I initially found the FL OTT but after knowing her back story, I feel bad for her. She got the short end of the deal. No wonder she has trust issues. I felt my heart breaking when I say her begging the ML for help. It must have taken her a lot of courage to reach out to him and beg him for help. Watching the episodes, I realized we are often quick to judge based on circumstances.

The background stories of the two leads helped a lot in understanding where they come from and why they are the way they are. I am invested in the story. The chemistry is awesome and the comic timing is great. What I love the best is how they create moments that are genuinely funny, all arising due to misunderstanding, miscommunication. I think it is a higher form of comedy because it is not the LOL kind based on a 'silly' contrived situation.

This is definitely worth a watch. :heartxoxo:

    Spoiler

The wife of the FL's BF was savage. I wish the FL would have stood up for herself and at least said something in her defence.  The BF is the scumbag. Such cheaters should be publicly shamed and condemned. Just blaming the OW is not enough. We are getting a lot of these scheming, lying despicable cheating husbands.  (Doom at Your Service, Love ft. Marriage and Romance, The World of the Married and now this.) If art is reflection of the reality, have our values and society really degraded so much? What happened to fidelity, trust? It is a sad state of affairs.

Also, is it completely acceptable in S. Korean society to pour a glass of water/ coffee etc on someone if you feel you have been wronged? So the other person just sits passively and takes all the verbal and physical thrashing, looking repentant? And all this happens publicly? It is indeed very humiliating.

  22. I know this deals with some serious issues but man, the two leads are simply daebak! The misunderstanding between the two resulted in such a hilarious episode. It was a great stress-buster. I am really curious to know about these two madhats and how they comfort and heal each other.  I must admit that this drama took me completely by surprise. Both the leads have a great comic timing. The first episode was short and crisp. This will be a fun filled journey with some good heartfelt messages, I believe. What a surprise it was! 3 episodes per week 30 mins long work for me. Looking forward to the newest episodes and the two leads. This seems like a 'hidden' gem of a show.
