Park Bo Young, Seo In Guk, Lee Soo Hyuk, And More Confirmed For New Fantasy Drama

 

tvN’s upcoming drama “One Day Destruction Came Through My Front Door” (literal translation) has confirmed its lead cast!

Previously known as “Ruin,” “One Day Destruction Came Through My Door” is a fantasy romance drama about a man known as “destruction” who causes everything he touches to vanish, and a woman who puts her life on the line to avoid her fate. The drama is written by Im Me-ari, who wrote “Beauty Inside,” and directed by Kwon Young Il, who directed “My Unfamiliar Family.”

 

Park Bo Young, Seo In Guk, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kang Tae Oh, and Shin Do Hyun are confirmed to star in the drama. Park Bo Young will play Tak Dong Kyung, an editor at a web novel publisher. She is living an ordinary life when she stumbles into a strange fate and puts her life and love on the line.

 

Seo In Guk will play the character known as “ruin” or “destruction” (myulmang in Korean), who makes a contract with Tak Dong Kyung. When an unexpected character gets caught up in his tragic fate, he decides to put his love and compassion on the line to save her.

 

Lee Soo Hyuk will play Cha Joo Ik, Tak Dong Kyung’s co-worker at the web novel publisher. He is described as a “master” of the first kiss, and inspires his web novelists to new romantic heights with his sweet words and heart-fluttering gestures.

 

Kang Tae Oh will play Lee Hyun Kyu, who has a lot of regrets about his first love. He is Cha Joo Ik’s roommate and runs a café. As a boy, he ran away from love, and is now going through growing pains as an adult so he can find his first love again.

 

Shin Do Hyun will play Na Ji Na, a web novelist who gets caught up in a love triangle between Cha Joo Ik, the master of first kisses, and Lee Hyun Kyu, the man who regrets his first love.

Seo In Guk, Park Bo Young, And More Pose In Dazzling Group Poster For Upcoming Drama “Doom At Your Service”

tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Doom at Your Service” unveiled a group poster!

“Doom at Your Service” is a fantasy romance about a character named Myul Mang (Seo In Guk), who causes everything he touches to vanish, and a woman named Tak Dong Kyung (Park Bo Young), who puts her life on the line to avoid her fate.

The drama also stars Lee Soo Hyuk as Cha Joo Ik, the head editor at the web novel publisher where Tak Dong Kyung works. Kang Tae Oh appears as Lee Hyun Kyu, a café owner who regrets running away from his first love. Shin Do Hyun plays Na Ji Na, a web novelist who gets caught up in a love triangle between Cha Joo Ik and Lee Hyun Kyu.

In the new poster, Seo In Guk, Park Bo Young, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kang Tae Oh, and Shin Do Hyun get in character and stand together as a group. The five people stand under a purple sky with many stars surrounding them, and they all exude a mysterious and beautiful aura. They look deep in thought as they stare in different directions, and the words on the poster read, “What is the one and only wish in your life?”

“Doom at Your Service” premieres May 10 at 9 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.

Tomorrow: Lee Soo-Hyuk Shared His Thoughts And Filming Experiences

 

Lee Soo-Hyuk left a lasting impression with his portrayal of the Grim Reaper Park Joong-Gil in the Netflix series “Tomorrow.” The following is an interview with Lee Soo-hyuk about his drama, which was released on May 22 by his agency.

Q. How do you feel now that you’ve finished filming the drama “Tomorrow”?

Lee Soo-Hyuk: The director, writer, actors, and crew all contributed to a successful conclusion, and I am grateful for their efforts. Because “Tomorrow” was a drama with multiple messages for the audience, it made me think a lot while filming until the very end.

Q. Many people believe that you and Park Joong-Gil from the original story have a strikingly similar look. What are your thoughts on it?

Because the original work was so well received, I worked hard to make it work well in the drama. I was nervous about what the audience would think of me while the drama aired. I am grateful for the positive feedback I received from so many people.

Q. You were fantastic as the Grim Reaper. Do you want to take on another character in the future?

This time, I played the Grim Reaper, so I think it would be better to play a more realistic character next time to show audiences a more diverse charm. If given the opportunity, I’d like to show a different side of myself to drama fans in any role.

Q. Park Joong-Gil had a cold-blooded personality, but he also had a warm side to him. What did you concentrate on while acting?

I wanted to create tension or impact when Joong-Gil appeared because he was a man of principle. Furthermore, I thought it was important to keep the audience interested in him because we had to deliver his stories in stages. 

Q. How was the set atmosphere?

My character in the drama was at odds with the crisis management team, but in reality, we worked well together. We were able to talk a lot on the spot and create each scene well together because Hee-Sun, in particular, was so good at setting the bright atmosphere. The director and staff were all comfortable.

Q. Finally, do you have anything else to say to the audience?

I recall thinking a lot about how to tell a potentially heavy story. Thank you so much to everyone who watched “Tomorrow” and provided us with such positive feedback. Everyone, please stay healthy. I’ll see you again in a different role next time.

I wondering if he himself feels like he is ready for the main role in a drama. It's quite a job, to create a mood for the whole project (or co-create). Not everyone has is in themselves to chose that path. If we add that many projects where LSH appeared were usually not very successful, then it could kill his confidence even more. 

 

I hope to see him soon in another project. Definitely worth watching him and see how he present his character to the audience.

His biggest issue is that he is not that successful picking dramas with good scripts.

He is ready acting wise - there is no question about it. Tomorrow once again showed his versatility as an actor.

 

Problem is that he would need someone to advise him on how to pick better dramas from now on. He's not the only actor with this issue, and I hope that he will overcome this soon!

That's partially the case. True. 

 

But I've read interviews with actors that said that they weren't picking the main lead roles because it's big thing and they were not ready. LSH seems to like the supporting roles (or villains roles), bad script or not. 

 

Will see what project he pick next, because Tomorrow showed he can leave an impression (and isn't a failure).
