Lee Da Hee got injured while filming OCN‘s ‘Island.’

On December 20, a representative from Lee Da Hee’s agency Studio Santa Claus stated, “Lee Da Hee suffered a neck injury while filming an action scene in ‘Island.’ She was immediately transferred to the hospital and received an examination.” They continued, “It’s not a serious injury, so she’s receiving outpatient treatment while going back and forth to the hospital.

Island‘ is based on the popular webtoon of the same name and is a fantasy story that tells the secrets unfolding in Jeju Island. The actress plays the role of Won Mi Ho, the sole daughter of the Daehan conglomerate and the new ethics teacher at a school in Jeju island.

 

Lee Da Hee will continue filming for the drama without straining her neck. As a result, she won’t be attending the press conference of the upcoming Netflix series ‘Single’s Inferno‘.

Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, And Sung Joon’s Upcoming Drama “Island” Confirms December Premiere

 

TVING’s original series “Island” has finally announced its upcoming premiere!

 

Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Island” is a fantasy exorcism drama that takes place on Jeju Island. It depicts the sorrowful and bizarre journey of the characters who are fated to fight evil that is trying to destroy the world. The drama will be helmed by director Bae Jong of “Welcome to Dongmakgol” and “Fabricated City.”

 

On October 6, it was announced that “Island” is set to premiere in December. The star-studded lineup of cast members including Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon was previously confirmed in 2021.

 

Kim Nam Gil will be playing Pan, a tragic character who confronts evil in preparation for the world’s end but can’t be together with humans. Lee Da Hee will take on the role of third-generation chaebol and teacher Won Mi Ho. Unaware of her fate, Won Mi Ho unwillingly begins a self-reflection period on Jeju Island. Cha Eun Woo will be transforming into the hip Catholic exorcist and priest named John who has a noble calling of protecting lives and purifying evil. However, he’s also a figure who harbors a horrible and dark past. Sung Joon will be taking on the role Goong Tan, who was raised to take care of evil with Pan. However, after a fateful event, Goong Tan begins to oppose Pan, adding an exhilarating twist and suspense to the story.

Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Island” is a fantasy exorcism drama that takes place on Jeju Island. It depicts the sorrowful and bizarre journey of the characters who are fated to fight evil that is trying to destroy the world. The drama will be helmed by director Bae Jong of “Welcome to Dongmakgol” and “Fabricated City.”

 

Kim Nam Gil will take on the role of Pan, an immortal being who has protected the world from evil for thousands of years. Lee Da Hee will play the role of Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and teacher. Won Mi Ho, who is spending a period of self-reflection on Jeju Island, gets attacked by monsters for the first time in her life and fatefully meets Pan. ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo will transform into John, the youngest exorcist on earth who is dispatched to Jeju Island by the Holy See. The three characters who become intertwined with each other are expected to showcase an unprecedented fantasy action story.

 

At the center of the teaser poster is the sword Geumgangjeo piercing through the mysterious and gloomy atmosphere. Amid the dark clouds behind the Geumgangjeo, which shows the traces of countless years passed, the scattering embers highlight the mysterious mood of the poster. The text that reads, “They finally started to make their move,” makes viewers curious to find out the secret behind the sword that emits an overwhelming aura as well as the mystery of “Island.”

“Island” is gearing up for its premiere!

 

Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Island” is a fantasy exorcism drama that takes place on Jeju Island. It depicts the sorrowful and bizarre journey of the characters who are fated to fight evil that is trying to destroy the world. The drama will be helmed by director Bae Jong of “Welcome to Dongmakgol” and “Fabricated City.”

 

On November 22, “Island” revealed new character posters of the four leads Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon.

First, Kim Nam Gil exudes dark charisma as Pan, “a being who is a monster while also human.” The text next to him reads, “I have waited a long time for you,” captivating audiences along with a piercing gaze that is as sharp as the sword Kim Nam Gil is wielding, known as the Geumgangjeo.

Lee Da Hee is the “person at the center of fate” as she transforms into Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and teacher who is spending a period of self-reflection on Jeju Island. She asks, “Why are they chasing after me?” raising questions about what will unfold on Jeju Island.

Donning a priest’s robe while holding a staff, Cha Eun Woo becomes the eye-catching exorcist John who is a “person that carries out the authority of God.” His poster reads, “I will protect. That is my decision.”

Last but not least, Sung Joon becomes Goong Tan who has been “discarded by the world,” captivating viewers with his long silver hair. Upcoming drama “Island” has released another action-packed teaser!

 

Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Island” is a fantasy exorcism drama that takes place on Jeju Island. It depicts the sorrowful and bizarre journey of the characters who are fated to fight evil that is trying to destroy the world. The drama will be helmed by director Bae Jong of “Welcome to Dongmakgol” and “Fabricated City.”

 

The newly released teaser captures a look at the heroes Pan (Kim Nam Gil), Mi Ho (Lee Da Hee), and John (ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo) who will be fighting against evil. Right from the start, Pan narrates, “An evil that has been parasitic on this land since the beginning of time—we are unaware of where they are or where they will appear.”

 

Frightening monsters with razor-sharp claws and fangs begin to appear on Jeju Island, sweeping the island up in a whirlwind of chaos until Pan and John make epic entrances to fight off the monsters. Shocked speechless with terror, Mi Ho makes her escape as creatures she has never seen before begin to chase after her.

 

The text, “Special beings who face against evil finally started to make their move,” appears on screen as John blocks off the creatures with his powerful staff. Mi Ho joins the fight, aiming the gun with a steady gaze, while Pan skillfully defends against the monster while dexterously wielding the sword Geumgangjeo.

 

When Mi Ho asks why the monsters have begun to chase after her, she receives the chilling answer, “Because your destiny calls them.”

The drama that I've been waiting for the longest and thought it'll be released soon, but I still have to wait until the very end of next month! >< KNG will be amazing as usual. I hope we'll get a Bidam 2.0 with his martial arts skills.
