Synopsis:

It follows a pair of twin sisters in a story about the rush of first love, a resigned separation, an unwavering companionship and a love without regrets.

 

Hua Mujin grew up during the chaotic era of the five dynasties and the ten states. As a child, she and her younger twin sister Hua Jinxiu were sold as slaves to the powerful Yuan Family. They are sent on the road with three other children - Yu Feiyan, Song Minglei, Yao Biying and the five take a vow of friendship to always care for each other.

In order to thrive in their new environment, Hua Mujin willingly throws herself to hard labor to build a better future for her brothers and sisters. She uses the techniques inherited from her father and relies on her intelligence to help the Yuan Family rise to glory.

Four men with extraordinary talents and position make an mark in her colorful life - Song Minglei whom she looks up to as an older brother, the pure and loving Yuan Feijue, the androgynous Duan Yuerong and the love of her life, Yuan Feibai.

one of the sisters has a slightly meaner face than the other. I feel she's the cuter one. im guessing she's the 2nd female lead cause Chinese dramas like nice female leads. can someone briefly let me know of the sisters get along? i don't like watching sisters scheme against one another.

From the trailer we can guess the purple eye sister got jealous that her crush love her craftsman/tactician sister instead , and converted into baddie.

I'm enjoying so far, mainly because there's no annoying female lead. I'm just worried that it will have an unhappy ending - I sure hate to vest a lot of time for it to end in tragedy.

I have a feeling it’s a tragedy too, I’m guessing of the sister might die. However, I’m still hoping for a happy ending.

I checked out first episode but it's not that intriguing so I don't plan to watch it.  The drama does have veteran actors.

The cinem - heck, let's just say scenery is nice, the music is good, good-looking cast...But the scene where that bad guy does the "bad" thing to one of the sisters - I wasn't prepared - at all! Plus I need to go back and watch the first episode so I can remember who is who. Already one of the good guys is showing his ulterior motives & the one sister is very ambitious & is showing signs of an unrequited love. 

 

But hey, I'm sticking with it. Question: Why do the majority of viewers seem to hate Mujin?

I thought post my review so others know what they can expect from this very badly written and directed drama

Good: High quality production , actors, purple color eye girl (may be due to purple color as we dont see them often)

Bad: Story , Director ( he should never be allow to direct again) , Fight choreography (worse than korean drama and its terrible actually for chinese drama to have this bad).

Very Bad: Wuxia drama shows rape scene. That is not where it ends. It shows rapist humiliating rape victim in every episode 7-14. It almost like director has this rape fantasy porn like japan pornland. Chinese censor did not do a good job. Wuxia drama kids to every one watch. This kinda scene was well done in princess agent and why director wanted make creepy explicit scenes. Rapist is alive 7-14. Still not dead. Wonder why he is allowed to exist in the plot. I never seen chinese drama humiliating woman this bad. May be western hollywood influence in chinese drama land.

I heard story also dont end well. Twins killing each other for love. Not a happy ending

All i am saying where is ME TOO movement. Here director fullfilling his rape fantasy theme by rapist TAUNTING rape victim 8 straight episodes. she supposed to be warrior but she become a kitten infront of her rapist. Even if its a plot it should have done it in one episode and kill that guy and move on. I do not see people go after the director anywhere. strange. its ok in movies but i cant see it has to be in Wuxia type drama. movies last 3 hour and people forget about it. Here normally drama run for a month. And screen writer and director keep rapist alive. Not sure how long.

Okay, this is not the best made drama, I will give everyone that comment.  The rape scene did not affect me as much as it has bothered a lot of you (don't rake me over the coals because of my opinion).  What is bothering me is the casting...why cast Kenny Kwan as the the androgynous Duan Yuerong, that should have been Yu Xiao Tong (Feibin).  YXT looks more feminine than Kenny Kwan.  Feibin's eyes, body language and the like are just so feminine.  The casts' acting is not bad but the directing is.  The story is too convoluted.  Hopefully the story will get better.

 

It is a drama worth watching during the boredom of this pandemic.  You just have to jump over the hurtles.

Unless they change it from the novel's ending, then you will get a happy ending.  It all depends on the scriptwriter.

Its not about rape scene as much. It should not be in wuxia drama. its kids to every one watch them. For me Taunting the rape victim by rapist is rapist fantasy of japanese porn. Director and Producers were rape creep. She probably had sex with those guys to get that role i think.

I planned on tuning on this drama since I like the premise of double twin. But, watching a couple of episodes ...... 

The male lead acting skill is not good enough to make me able to differentiate the twin. Both FeiBai and Sima Ji? have similar behavior and aura. And I don't like a drama when FL has so many admirer as though she is the best girl on the earth.

 

Will try to watch again after more episodes comes out.

I did not read the whole novel, but from what I can see with the available clips this drama will have a sad ending.
