Episode 88 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0.00 to 12:00)

 

DB confirms from a phone call, as at the end of the last episode, that IY lied to him and met JH.

 

BS is mad after hearing about IY faking the pregnancy and miscarriage. HM takes the opportunity to tell him that YR and JH should be sent abroad. She doesn't want YR's grandma hearing of this story, before the IY matter is settled. She wants DB to not know of this, as she doesn't know what his reaction will be. BS doesn't agree fully, but she asks him to act unawares. She will handle this matter.

 

Walking back, JH tells IY that things will become tough for her, as HM knows. She says she can hang in there. She expects to find the criminals and solid evidence soon.

 

IY comes home saying she has bought ice cream, and asks if Db wants some, but he acts cold. She goes out of his room, looking worried whether he knows something.

 

At breakfast, BS can't stand to see IY, gets up and goes to his room saying he has no appetite, with HM following him.

 

IY tells Maid Nam that she needs some help, to find more on the YR-grandma matter. Maid Nam will go to IY's room soon to discuss it.

 

Mr. Jo tells IY, who looks distracted, about a meeting with the Showroom managers that she should join.  IY gets a text (which we guess is from Maid Nam) - "I am in front of the building". IY replies, "Okay. Please go up".  IY also leaves her office.

 

Maid Nam takes some flowers to YR's office, and thanks her for all the help for her sister in the USA. Maid Nam asks her if her grandma's name was Ms. Diana Kwon. YR says yes. Maid Nam tells her that Diana Kwon has a 40 year old daughter and a 7 year old grandson, and that she is apparently saying she doesn't know about any Chae Yu Ran. YR is taken aback, regains composure and lies, "That aunt is a daughter adopted from Korea. My father passed away long ago, and I was away in boarding school, so many people don't know about me. As she hates privacy violations, she doesn't always tell all that to everybody".

 

IY comes in, wanting to urgently talk to YR outside. She complains to YR about her telling HM about the fake pregnancy. Nothing too important in this back and forth, except that YR admits that she tattled to HM so as to go abroad with JH. YR says she will worry about JH and IY should worry about DB.  But she slips a bit and says "Dong Bin ssi" (like "Mr. Dong Bin"). IY caught on to that, and asks, "Dong Bin ssi??" (as YR should be saying older-brother-in-law, i.e., hyeongnim). YR just says she will go back to her office.  But Maid Nam has left from her office, leaving a note that she had to leave.

 

We see that Maid Nam has photographed YR's phone's call record pages when IY distracted YR and ot her out of the office. She shows the pics to IY and tells her that she will send them to her phone. IY asks her to keep it quiet from everybody for now. Maid Nam asks if IY was right in what she said earlier, that her sister must be mistaken. IY says yes (so IY has not told Maid Nam that there is a problem, yet)

 

YR tells DB about Maid Nam's sister finding out about Ms. Diana Kwon. She says she gave a dead-father lie, but she is unsure if Maid Nam bought it. DB asks her to get rid of this issue by threatening or sweet-talking Maid Nam, before HM finds out.

Episode 88 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 12.00 to 23:00)

 

YR wants DB to handle this problem with Maid Nam, but he basically washes his hands off. It is YR's problem. YR says he will be finished too, if she is caught. Now DB surprises her by laughing that off. No, it will be JH who will be finished, because he is the one who was duped by and was even engaged to a scam artist. Who will accept anybody like that as the owner's son? He says that is why he selected a "woman like her," to start with. It would be easy to show that JH had no taste (well, that is my characterization of what he implied). This makes YR mad and disgusted, as her face shows. (Even she cannot believe how twisted this fellow is). He continues the arrogant talk, and she gets up and leaves. She goes out and curses him in her mind for how low his respect for her is - "the woman you loves is a fake too. She doesn't even love you. Pretty soon you will know who becomes hurt and pathetic first"

 

JH returns the ultrasound drill files to Director Jeon, saying that the papers on the payments to China are missing. Mr. Jeon says he will look into it. JH then asks, "isn't your son's name YeongUn?".  He remembers playing with him at home long ago. Mr. Jeon is surprised that JH remembers that visit from long ago, when they went to thank BS for help in his son's hospitalization. JH also remembers that it was for Mr. Jeon's son that BS set up the Sharing Foundation. Mr. Jeon didn't know that. JH remembers BS saying that it was Mr. Jeon's son who made him think of those outside of the company, and not just the company employees. That is why he started the foundation, and the first project was on childhood cancer patients. JH respects his dad for that. He then tells Mr. Jeon that his son will also respect him for doing things the right way, calling a mistake a mistake etc.

 

Director Jeon goes to DB that JH seems to know about the money remittance to the Chinese side. JH says he had sorta expected it. Mr. Jeon asks him why he has to do all this, when it is a company he is set to inherit. He tries to reason out with DB that this will all be problematic for the company. DB is nonchalant and tells him that he shouldn't have done things that DB could find as his weakness, if he cared so much for the company. Basically DB again threatens him.

 

CH is going to take DM to the date, and set her up. DM is dressed up nicely, but the aunt is also decked up. I will skip the details.

 

To save time, I will skip the long date scene's details too, as it is all pretty self-explanatory.  Basically he is a much older looking guy and DM is not interested at all. But the aunt is.  The guys also finds the aunt very pretty. Anybody would think she is a sister to DM and not an aunt, he says.  Finally DM gets saved by a phone call, and she takes off. But the guy has a hotel restaurant reservation that he doesn't want to waste. The aunt and the guy hit it off. Looks like she has got a "dongsaeng" (younger male friend or brother).  That's that.  Meanwhile, DM goes and asks JM how old she looks, as she is worried at what the guy said. JM says she looks "maybe 26?" and she is all happy.

Episode 88 Translation/Recap Part 3:  (Minutes 23:00 to Episode End)

 

Looks like IY decided to call the number of "Boss" on IY's call record, from a pay phone. DB doesn't take the call, and is puzzled who it might be.

 

IY comes to DB's office and tells him that there is a "variable that changed in the plan". She wants DB to get rid of it. DB asks what it is, and YR says, "it is InYeong. JH wanted to go to the US, and then wouldn't go. It's all because of IY". DB asks what she is talking about. IY wants him to ask his brother himself, why he isn't going to the U.S. Now DB is even more puzzled and hassled.

 

DM is continuing to whine about the messed up date, to JM and SG. She finds that CH is still not back. DM calls the aunt but she isn't picking up.

 

JH asks IY if she isn't leaving from work, and if it is because she is uncomfortable at home. She says she just has work. He asks her not to exert too much, and goes home.

 

JH comes home and YR asks, "where is IY?". She gets a harsh "YR!" from JH. She apologizes that she is now always bothered by IY. He asks her to go out with him for a dinner. But he gets a call from DB. JH leaves after telling YR that he will leave briefly, as DB wants to meet him outside. YR smiles and thinks that it is only matter of time now.

 

JH meets IY at a restaurant. And DB has called IY also to join.  She complains that DB didn't tell her that JH would be there. DB: "So what? Makes you uncomfortable? There is no discomfort among people who see each other at home, no?". DB says he didn't call YR because he wanted to talk to just them. He apologizes for being sensitive and reacting to the "nonsense rumors". He asks why IY, who, unlike JH, is usually talkative, but isn't talking. She says that it's just that she liked the music there. DB then gets serious and asks JH and IY what they both talk about normally, when they are together. He is just curious if it's anything other than work matters. JH: "Just work stuff, what else?". DB: "But then again, you're just a no-fun guy" (turns to IY) "you know from seeing it from close quarters, huh?". IY just laughs. They all drink.

 

JH says he will get the car, as they walk out. DB tells JH that he should go alone. No need for them both. He tells IY that he has reserved a room at the hotel. IY has fear in her eyes.  JH asks DB to just go home. DB: "How does it matter for you? Just go, man". IY says everybody would be waiting at home. DB says he can call home and tell. He walks holding IY, who is scared and breathing hard. JH grabs her back. DB: "What the hell are you doing?". JH: "Brother, you're drunk. InYeong, just go first". DB: "Hey, Kang Jun Hui!". JH: "I asked you to go now!" [End of Episode]

Episode 89 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0:0 to 12:30)

 

DB wants to take IY to a hotel room, JH pulls her away, saying that DB is just drunk. DB shouts at JH, and IY just walks away from both of them.

 

DB tells JH that he knew of her meeting him last night, after saying she was going to the  convenience store. He never doubted his brother would do this. JH says he had loved her (but he says nothing more). DB punches him.

 

At home, YR wants to know from IY what happened. IY says the three of them were together and says nothing more. She asks YR why she couldn't wait a little longer (she thinks YR told DB, I guess). YR just yells at her that she wasn't going to wait for ever.  This was all IYs doing, says YR.

 

YR acts concerned at how JH looked when he came back home, and he asks her not to bother, to avoid the parents getting worried too. He will handle this, he says.  YR tries to call  DB who is on the rooftop, and he doesn't pick up her call.

 

HM sees a cut on JH's face, as he leaves early for work. But he doesn't say what it is from, and tells her that she will talk to her later. She sits YR down and asks what's up. YR says the three of them were together last night. IY came back first, JH later, and DB never came home. She thinks JH and DB must have fought but they are not talking. It must be because of IY, she says. But she doesn't know if DB has found out about IY and JH. She thinks she should leave with JH for the U.S. before others find out.

 

HM shows her displeasure at IY who is leaving for work. She is taking a change of clothes for DB to his office. She says no, when HM asks if DB has found out. She says sorry , and HM asks - "Are you really sorry?"

 

The aunt was out drinking last night with the guy she set up for DM, as she admits to SG.  She blames DM's lack of etiquette for how she ended up hooking up with that guy, though.

 

As IY brings clothes for him, DB asks if she feels the same as what JH told him last night. She asks what he is talking about. "JH says he loves you" says DB (though JH had said He "loved her" in past tense). She says no when he asks if she has feelings for JH. "Whether you believe me or not, I am by your side, DB" says IY, as she leaves, and DB punches his desk.

Episode 89 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 12:30 to 22:30)

 

The team members seem to guess that JH must have been in some fight, as he has a cut on his lips. They feel bad for him.

 

HM calls SG, asking her to meet. SG says that JM is not interested in studying abroad, but HM tells her that it is to talk about something else. They meet and HM tells her that her daughter is now working at the Taeyeon headquarters, when SG says that she is with Han River interiors, working in Namhae. HM says she doesn't know what situation caused her to be working at Taeyeon.  SG goes straight to the P&D office and finds IY.

 

SG gets mad at IY but IY still doesn't tell her anything. She says that she will explain everything later. She has a situation. SG keeps pressing, but doesn't get anywhere.

 

IY finds HM waiting for her to come back, right outside the office building. HM says she thought she had to tell her mother. IY: "So you have known about me?".  HM: "I know thatyou are SJ's daughter, that you have lied to your mom about being in Namhae, and that you sent your friend to meet me in your place.  I told your mom only about your work. Not about your being in our house, and about your trying to marry DB using a fake pregnancy". She says she feels IY's mom is a good person. Before she gets shocked hearing of everything, IY should go back.

 

Director Jeon gives what seems to be a resignation letter to BS, just as BS protests. He then turns over the files on the funds that went into the ultrasound drill, which JH wanted him to review. JH had talked about how much he respected BS. Mr. Jeon wants to be respected by his own son the same way. He leaves when DB walks in to give a report on the DIY retailing idea. BS says he will look into that only later, and looks suspiciously as DB.

 

DB wants to know from YR whether BS had said anything about Dir. Jeon. She says no. She says BS isn't talking about such things but seems to be thinking a lot. YR asks DB if it was he who punched JH. He confirms it. He wants her to talk to HM and get ready to go to the U.S.  She asks if he talked to IY. DB says it isn't IY's doing, which makes her ask, "you mean this is one-way feelings by JH?".

 

Director Jeon hands over to JH the omitted files on the funds going to China in the ultrasound drill matter, and tells him that he has resigned. He thanks JH for giving him a chance to correct his own mistakes.  He also gives JH an envelope that he calls a gift from him - a whistleblower report on some funds spent by the marketing team in 2016.  He thinks it is money that DB had spent personally, and he would like JH to look into it.

Episode 89 Translation/Recap Part 3:  (Minutes 22:30 to Episode End)

 

The P&D team members are wondering if that was IY's mom who came earlier, as she had similar looks as IY. As IY comes in, Ms Ha tells her that JH was looking for her.

 

JH tells IY that DB seems to have sent 100 million Won (about US$ 80K) to some individual in the US. IY is surprised that it was to USA and not to China. JH finds from the file that the money was supposed to be working on the US website of Taeywon, but that homepage is still being kept up from the Seoul HQ. He wouldn't send such a big some for no reasons, thinks JH. He then tells her the bombshell item. The woman in the US is a Ms. Hong Seonhwa! The change of IY's look prompts JH to ask if it's somebody she knows. She says no.

 

IY wonders - "if the grand-daughter, consultant, and all the stories are lies, there must be somebody who made her into Chae Yu Ran. Maybe that money could've been used for facial plastic surgery?".  (Atagirl, IY.  You do have brain cells, then!!) .... And she sees BS and CG in the elevator, with BS giving her an angry look. He only asks "you are leaving from work?", keeping the harsh demenaor.

 

DM tells JM that SG had gone to IY's office, as per IY who had called her. IY is still claiming to be working hard, so they both need to calm down SG for now.

 

YR goes to JH's office to again ask him to leave with her, saying HM knows that JH and DB fought over IY. But she also says that she didn't tell HM. He asks her not to make it tough on HM but she claims that it is only IY who is giving trouble to HM. When JH says he cannot leave for U.S., she says that she will then have no choice but to tell DB about IY. She leaves, asking JH to think carefully on what option he has, if he wants "to protect everybody he loves".

 

IY is still wondering who "boss" is, on YR's call records. She waits in the lobby till Maid Nam distracts YR to go to another room, and goes to YR's room to check YR's phone.

 

DB gets a call from somebody, telling him that there was no report from the finance office, and that "he may have gone for personal reasons and not any work reasons" (DB seems to have asked what Dir. Jeon met BS about). DB looks a little relieved, and then he gets a text on his second phone - "I have something to quietly discuss. Let's meet near the house at 8 pm" (and we can guess  who sent that text).

 

DB waits for YR at the cafe near the house, and calls her to ask if she forgot to meet him. She has no clue and asks what meeting he is talking about, and he realizes that something is wrong.  He looks around, as IY watches from outside - thinking, "Were you that folder phone's owner? You, Kang Dong Bin?" [End of Episode]

Episode 90 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0:0 to 12:30)

 

After seeing DB leave in a hurry from the cafe, IY recalls her father telling her about the ultrasound drill -- "with this, the troubles are over, and happiness starts" -- and asking her to build her dreams with that.  Then we see a scene that is probably IY's imagination (but possibly the truth too) -- DB pushing SJ down to the ground and running away, as SJ lies there bleeding from his head.

 

DM and JM tell SG that IY had joined Taeyeon out of a suspicion that the ultrasound drill technology was stolen from SJ. But SG doesn't understand why she has to lie about it and say that she was in Namhae, etc.  She just doesn't seem to buy the excuses they give her. She asks where she lives and DM says it's at a friend/colleague's apartment. SG: "Man or woman fried?". DM says that it is not like that. Just a colleague, she says.

 

YR tells DB that she didn't send the text, and shows her phone (from which IY must have erased the sent-message). But DB shows YR his phone, where the message is from YR's phone. They are puzzled and worried.

 

DB tells JH that he will not forgive JH if he is having unilateral feelings towards IY, because IY tells him that nothing is on.

 

YR decides to butter Maid Nam's palms and gives her some department store gift vouchers, asking if she could consider her to be an "eonni", as YR doesn't have any friends in Korea, etc.  The cook Ms. Kim checks the voucher, and it is for a million Won (about US$ 900)!!

 

At the breakfast table, everybody wonders if IY has gone to work already. Just when they thought she was going to hide away, here she comes, all confident and cheery. That forced the mom and dad to retreat to their room. Haha! ... In their room, HM asks BS to just hold on a bit longer, just as he is pretty mad at IY's brazen attitude.

 

CH is text-message-flirting with her new "dongsaeng". He wants to go with her to see it when the cherry blossoms come up in Yeouido (which is amazingly beautiful to see, by the way. Do not miss it if you're anywhere ner Seoul in late March).  She is thrilled. DM interrupts the flirting, asking who it was. CH doesn't tell, so DM tells JM her suspicion that CH is dating. Funny to see DM mimicking CH's talk. Time-filler banter continues between the aunt and DM, so let us skip it.

 

SG is puzzled about why HM bothered to tell her about IY. She messages IY, asking her to tell her an explanation today itself, as she "will not wait much longer".  IY goes to JH's office, seeing that message from her mom.

Episode 90 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 12:30 to 21:00)

 

IY tells JH that she is sure about DB being behind the issues. JH wants to be careful till they have clear evidence. He will look for this woman called Hong Seonhwa in the US. There must be a reason why DB paid her money. Or she could be an accomplice in something too.

 

DB is shocked when YR tells him that Director Jeon had tendered his resignation. DB feels that JH may have something to do with it. He thinks that even the text to him might have been sent by JH. YR thinks that's ridiculous. He is not the kind who would do that. Then who else, asks DB. YR says nothing. He asks her to no longer contact him by phone, but to meet him in his office to inform him of anything urgent. He wants her to even erase his number from her phone. He has no idea how much JH knows, he says.

 

IY is waiting for YR in her office. She asks why Maid Nam had come to see YR, and YR says that it was only to thank her for the grandma's help. IY: "Liar!... Isn't it a lie that you are the grand-daughter of that old woman?". She reveals that Maid Nam had told her first, that Ms. Diana Kwon has no grand-daughter called Chae Yu Ran. YR tries to say that Maid Nam is mistaken, and that it has nothing to do with IY anyway. IY warns YR about BS' and HM's shock, were they to find out that YR was fake too. So she has asked Maid Nam to keep it a secret. YR: "Are you threatening me now?". IY: "Seonhwa, why did you come to Korea? Who called you over?". YR says she came on her own because she was bored. Yes, she is not official because of that grandma's daughter's opposition, but she indeed is an adopted grand-daughter. The grandma helped her study too. YR asks her what she is suspecting, and if she is trying to pull her down with her too. JH: "Yeah... If I can do it, that is". YR: "You weren't like this before, you know. Is it because of me that you became like this?". IY says no. It is only to protect her family. IY: "Seonhwa. Keep this in mind. I will suffer it only one time. Not twice" with a look in her eyes that would probably have made YR have an involuntary urinary reaction.

 

DM and JM find that weird date guy (I think Lee Jeongju is his name) near their house, waiting by his car. Just as DM worries if he came for her, they find the aunt coming out all decked up with a picnic basket, to go with her younger friend. "Holy crap" is all DM can say.

 

BS calls over DB to talk about "something strange he heard"... that there is some problem with the funds that went into he ultrasound drill project. DB acts like he knows nothing, and says it must be something done by Director Kim. BS says that he will do a proper investigation, and that he will hand that over to JH. DB acts unperturbed and says that it is fine.  But he isn't fine, as his desk painfully finds out soon when he punches it. He asks, "how much the hell do you know? How much?".

 

BS tells YR and JH that there was financial corruption in the ultrasound drill project. He wants them both to look into it properly. YR tries to play her game, saying that she can do it by herself, as JH must be busy. JH says no. He will do it.

Episode 90 Translation/Recap Part 3:  (Minutes 21:00 to Episode End)

 

DB tells Director Kim that Director Jeon has resigned. It is because of the issues they know of.  Mr. Kim asks, "what do we do now?". DB says there is no "we". This is for Mr. Kim to get ready for. Mr. Kim is upset, as it was DB who made a secret slush fund from it. DB reminds him that he bought some personal stocks with it too. DB asks him straight, to pretty much take responsibility and quietly leave the company. DB does some sugarcoating of the situation, but basically Dir. Kim learns that he has been summarily dumped.  He is about to cry, but also mad.

 

HM and BS chat during dinner, and BS is hardly eating. He asks if the kids are all playing a game. HM says that DB sill doesn't know anything. BS talks in dejected ways about Dir. Jeon's leaving. There's nothing serious in this chat.

 

IY calls SG to tell her that she needs a little more time. SG tells her that it is dangerous for her to work at Taeyeon. IY reminds SG of what she said once that she will be with IY regardless of what kind of decisions she takes. She has to hang up as JH walks out of his office and asks, "was that your mom?". He says he felt she was such a warm person, though he only met her briefly. IY feels that her mom would be so shocked to hear of what she had done. If she could only manage it, she would keep this all away from her mom.

 

DB comes in and finds JH and IY to be talking. He asks JH out for a chat.  And YR comes in, seeing them leaving. She asks IY what she and JH were doing, for them to be leaving like that with grim looks. Now IY asks, "Hong Seonhwa, let us have a chat too".

 

DB is mad at JH, but calms down once JH says that he shouldn't have told DB about his feelings and that he is settling his own feelings.  DB then asks JH if it was he who told BS about the ultrasound drill matter. JH says no, and that he was only asking around, about the ultrasound drill.  DB asks if JH was suspecting him. He wants to know if this was all because of IY. If he was trying to find DBs weak points, and get him kicked out. JH says no again. DB warns him that it better be so. Because JH is committing a big wrong on him.

 

IY asks YR what her relationship is, with DB. YR acts like he has no idea what Y is talking about. IY: "You said you suspected DB. If DB is the owner of the folder phone and your number was the first one saved on it, what does that make you?". YR asks her not to randomly tie things together. IY: "Was it to just confuse me that you spoke of your suspicion on DB?... To make me not think of you both being accomplices?" YR: "Accomplices? You mean I am some criminal?". Now YR's jaw drops, as IY tells her that the "boss" on YR's phone was DB who had a second phone that IY didn't know of. YR asks if it was IY who played with her phone. IY: "Yes.  At times you called him big-brother-in-law and at times Mr. Dongbin, so I had my suspicions".

 

Now YR changes tactics and asks if IY had any evidence, and IY promptly shows her the record of the Taeyeon payment to Hong Seonhwa. IY: "The person who got you to do plastic surgery with that money, and made a Chae Yu Ran out of you... Who would that be?... Kang Dong Bin. What are you doing with that man?" [End of Episode]

Episode 91 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0:0 to 12:30)

 

YR tries to act like she doesn't know anything but IY persists - "If $100K was paid by somebody in the Marketing team, it can't be anybody else but DB. What might be the reason? If it was in late 2016, then you didn't know of HM or JH, right?... Tell me. What is going on between you and DB?"... YR was saved from answering it, by JH who walks in. She leaves with JH after putting that certificate of remittance in her jacket pocket.

 

IY joins DB at a bar. DB tells her that she doesn't have to worry about JH's feelings. They can get married and end the issues. He gets a call from YR (IY seems to notice who it was from), but he doesn't take it. IY then tells that they have to rethink the marriage. She says she was mistaken about DB all this while. DB asks if she is wavering because of JH. She says no. IY says she doesn't know what kind of a man DB is, and  asks him if he isn't hiding something from her.

 

In her room, YR thinks of sending a text to DB that IY has found out everything about her and DB, but decides against it, after she recalls IY's attitude that he never really expected her to remain as YR for ever. She says to herself, "No way. Somehow I have to fix this by myself".

 

DB acts like he is not hiding anything from IY. She reminds him of his saying that he didn't know anything about IY. She now feels the same towards him. IY: "You really... have nothing to tell me?". DB misreads this and says, "so you heard from JH? Yes, I did cause the demonstration against the Hanbit Apts work". But IY asks, "you did that?" and he knows he messed up. He anyway continues, and tells her that he is not BS' son and gives his sob story about being raised by HM and BS, and wanting to have his own family ever since seeing the baby pictures. IY seems to actually feel some sympathy for him, or at least guilt on what she has done.

 

HM and BS are alone at breakfast again as everybody has left fr work early. BS wants IY out right away, and HM says she will handle it.

 

HM asks Maid Nam to call the "side dish lady" and asks her if she could do some catering, as she wants to call some foundation people for a lunch today. Not delivery, but on-site catering. Maid Nam thinks she may not do it, but HM wants her to try making a special request.

 

CH is seemingly text-flirting with the "dongaseng", annoying SG. Then SG gets Maid Nam's call. She is reluctant to do on-site catering that she has never done. But thanks to CH's prodding, she agrees and asks Maid Nam to send her the menu they want. CH is a little turned off on hearing that it is at the Pyeongchang-dong house, but then figures that it is worth it, as the guests may be rich enough for her networking purposes. Just that she also wants to go with SG.

Episode 91 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 12:30 to 20:30)

 

IY seems to be feeling really guilty about what she has done to DB, and tells that to JH. She agrees that what JH said about playing with people's hearts was correct. She shouldn't have done this, as she realizes why the baby was so precious to DB and why he was so lonely. JH asks if DB told her something, and she says yes - "that he is not a real brother to you". She badly regrets everything now. Even if DB was the culprit behind her dad's death, she feels she is still a sinner who doesn't deserve to be forgiven by DB. Tears flow, and JH doesn't know what to say. (Shin Da Eun acts really well here)

 

DB calls somebody and asks him if Director Kim has come to work. He wants Mr. Kim to call him as soon as he comes in. He wonders to himself, "has he decided on something else?". DB gets a call that BS is looking for him.

 

BS has JH in his office, as DB joins. BS says that Director Kim came in the morning and resigned, taking all responsibility for the ultrasound drill mistakes. DB asks what Mr. Kim said. JH says that he took responsibility for exaggerating the PR and marketing expenses, to launder money. BS says that Mr. Kim just wanted to step down, and resigned. DB says that he never even imagined Mr. Kim doing that. He wonders if Mr. Kim did something on a momentary impulse. JH interrupts to say that this was not anything momentary, but a well-planned operation to fool people and steal money. BS asks why JH thinks that, and JH explains his thinking. The ultrasound drill was well-understood as a failure in field trials and he was pushing on with it. Clearly it was for embezzling money right from the start. When BS asks if DB had checked the tech reports, DB claims that he had only seen the summary reports and apologizes for it. BS says that this must be checked properly, and that it's not a matter to end with just a resignation. JH looks suspiciously at DB, and DB's face shows his being aware that JH knows something too.

 

After DB leaves, JH tells BS that this confession before any serious investigation only shows suspicious behavior. Maybe something bigger is being covered up. BS concurs. He is troubled by the same thought. He asks if JH is suspecting DB to have been behind Mr. Kim. JH just says that he will investigate more on Mr. Kim. BS tells him to proceed carefully, and without DB's knowledge.

 

Mr. Kim is already waiting in DB's office. He says he trusted DB this time and took all the responsibility. But in return, he needs something of the order of a top-boss position in a subsidiary company, once the dust settles. DB says that a subsidiary boss level won't work. Rather he wants him as a headquarters boss, so that they can meet more often. Mr Kim is happy to hear that. Also, he would like a nice sum to go into a Swiss bank account too. BS asks if that is for some sort of a comfort, and Mr. Kim says yes. He is after all facing even possible legal actions, so he should get something to hang in there till DB rises to the top! DB agrees to arrange it.

 

JH tells IY about Director Kim's resignation. IY says that the technology was definitely from her dad, and not bought from China. JH says he too doesn't believe Mr. Kim's confession; but there is no evidence as yet. Plus he can't see a reason why DB would steal money, even if Mr. Kim had reasons. IY says that DB had reasons to show his abilities to BS, even if he didn't need money. Like when he caused the Hanbit demonstration. But JH thinks that it can't be the reason for the ultrasound thing, because DB found out about his being adopted only recently. IY asks when he found out. JH thinks it was only recently; after HM and BS told DB.

 

IY makes an astute observation, in telling DB that what he thinks is not right.  DB knew of his birth matter from earlier. That is why he said he was lonely and wanted to have his own family, even at the time he saw the baby pictures. She says he has been saying similar things often, all along, too. He used to say things like "Someday IY will be the only family he has" and "if we leave home now, it is over". She didn't know what they meant at that time, but now she is sure that he has known about his roots all along.

Episode 91 Translation/Recap Part 3:  (Minutes 21:00 to Episode End)

 

JH meets DB's private investigator (who has the firm, "Famous Planning"). JH wants to ask something about DB. The guy says that he won't do it, if JH is asking for a background investigation on his client. JH says that he isn't asking for an investigation of DB. He just wants to know when he first contacted Famous Planning. The guys says that he can't reveal that either, due to client confidentiality. Then JH threatens him with a lawsuit for damages from Taeyeon, for the fake Hanbit demonstration that Famous Planning organized. Then the guy admits that it was a year ago that DB contacted him. It was to find out about a Mr. Pak Du Sik. JH asks why DB was looking for that person. The guy doesn't know. He doesn't ask his clients for reasons, he says.

 

IY meets YR in her office, asking for the explanation that YR culdn't give yesterday. YR says she realizes that it is time to tell IY about her life. YR: "Your suspicions about me and DB are half right, and half wrong". When she first met DB in the U.S., it was a romantic relationship. DB may not know, but she thought of it as love. YR: "Where do I start? Should I tell that I was working as a bartender in the US?". She gives her sob story about the tough life. She shows the scar of the cut on her hand, as she tried to kill herself. Nobody even bothered to ask her about that injury... except for DB (and we see the scene in the bar). She loved him deeply.  IY asks YR what the $100K was about. IY: "Maybe he felt apologetic to me, or felt sorry for me, but anyway he just sent me the money, asking me to do plastic surgery". JH: "Then why are you now with JH, and not with DB?". IY: "DB thought differently than me. After he sent that money, our contacts ended. He would've thought that things could end with it. But I hated to end it. I came to S.Korea to somehow get back with DB, and ended up meeting HM. But things got all twisted, and HM asked me to be with JH who had lost his eyesight". IY: "You think I will believe this?". YR: "Whether you believe or not, I don't care. I was just trying to be near DB even if I had to use that excuse".

 

IY asks YR if it was a lie that she loved JH. YR says no. She now loves JH more than she loved DB earlier. IY: "what?". YR: "DB only thinks of you, right? So I gave up on him". IY: "Does that make any sense?". YR: "Why doesn't it? It makes sense that two guys like you, but it makes no sense that I like both the guys?". IY: "Hong SeonHwa!!". YR: "InYeong-ah, let's not fight over the guys. I already gave up on DB. Just JH is enough".  IY is tongue-tied, in exasperation.

 

JM meets IY near her office. They hardly say anything. IY is not happy, as she worries about others seeing them together. And CG does see them talking.

 

SG and CH goes to the Taeyeon house and are surprised that it is HM's house. HM acts surprised too. SG says that she would've done the side dishes even better, had she known that the deliveries were to HM's house.

 

IY calls her mom, and hears that SG is at a house for on-site catering. And IY hears the cook Ms. Kim and Maid Nam talking in the background. IY asks where SG is, and she says it's at the Foundation CEO's house. She says she found that it was the CEO's house only after getting there. IY tries hard to get her to leave the place, but SG isn't willing to.  

 

And soon IY gets a call from IY.  IY doesn't take it, but calls HM back. HM says she has something to tell IY, and asks her to come home. IY says she also has something to say, but it will have to be outside the house. She says she knows who has come at home. IY says that she would like to quietly wrap things up without her mom knowing.

 

HM meets IY at a cafe. IY thanks HM for giving her time to wrap things up. She then continues that she didn't do the fake pregnancy and come to the house because she loved DB. It was out of a suspicion of Taeyeon. She tells her of her dad's technique being with Taeyeon after his death. She met DB just when she was wondering how to find out more. HM tells IY that it was not right to do, no matter how important the father's matter was. (Interestingly, HM doesn't seem to ask anything about the dad's technique at all).

 

IY says she knows she was wrong. But she has one final question to ask - why did HM pay for JM's hospital bills? HM says it was in gratitude of SJ's help for JH. IY asks when she learned of SJ's death. HM says, "it was later" because at that time she was busy with JH's surgery. IY thanks HM' for not forgetting her dad, and then asks the question - "But Mother, How did my father pass away?" HM: "How would I know that?" IY: "Mother, you called 119 that day, right? The one who first found my dead father was you, right?"  (Of course, we know that she has known that for a very long time, since the cops told her that, but had kept it with her!)  [End of Episode]

Episode 92 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0:0 to 13:15)

 

Once IY says she had heard from the cops, HM admits to IY that she was there right after JS died. It was just as she told the cops. She went there to thank JS for the help and found him dead on the floor, bleeding from his head, as she called the cops. IY asks why she concealed it, and HM says she felt there was no need to reveal it. IY tells her that there was no need to hide it either.  Then HM says it was too tough for her to even remember or talk about it.  IY tells her that she thinks his dad's death was not an accident, and that the same culprit was behind the hit on JM too. She asks if HM went there alone. HM says she was alone. IY: "You saw nobody?". HM: "I saw nobody".

 

As she walks out, IY thinks - "If that folder phone was DB's, then couldn't she be lying for the son's sake?" (we see the scene in her imagination, of DB getting up and running away as HM walked in). HM watches IY walking away.

 

SG and CH are done with the lunch catering, though no guests have come. Maid Nam says they may be coming later, and SG is about to leave, despite CH's objections, as she wants to stay and meet the guests. And HM comes back home. She just says "good work" to CG and goes to her room to sit down and take some deep breaths.

 

JH asks IY on why she was meeting HM. She says HM just wanted to know how she would wrap things up with DB. She then asks JH's help in getting BS and YR away for a dinner, because she has something to quietly tell DB and HM at home. He asks what she is going to discuss, and she just says "I can't keep this going too long, you know". JH agrees to do it.

 

DB asks YR: "You mean the one who called me to the cafe was IY?". YR tells him that IY seemed to be suspicious of their relationship. DB: "So what did you tell her?". YR: "That we met in USA, and it was a romantic relationship". He is upset, but she asks what else she could say when IY knew of even the money payment. DB wants to know how IY found out about the payment. YR says she didn't ask. DB: "Yeah right, a romantic relationship!". YR: "Then what should I have said? That we had no relationship, but only a business deal for you to tie down your brother? Would that have been better?". She says he needn't worry. She only said that it was one-way love from her. It was DB at first, but she now loves JH, etc. DB still wanted her to have run it by him first. She says she had put enough thought into it. "If you have a better script for this, tell me", says YR. He wants her to leave with JH to the U.S., pronto. She replies that he should rather try to get IY to keep her mouth shut, for JH not to catch wind of this. IY walks in, and YR leaves in a hurry.

 

CH tells DM that she and SG were at the Taeyeon house today. DM is shocked. And in her room, SG is thinking about why IY was asking her to leave from that place right away, and also about HM telling her that IY is working in Taeyeon rather than in Namhae.

 

At dinner, DB makes comments about the good dishes, and asks HM why she looked so downcast. Maybe she should get some exercise. Then IY suggests that a trip to the Yangpyeong villa might be good. DB says he isn't into it becuase there's nothing to do except to take walks. IY asks him if he has not gone to the villa much. He says he hasn't, with a weak "yeah". IY then asks HM why she said she is putting it up for sale. Hm says that managing it is a problem. Awkward silence follows. (Not sure what IY pried out from them, except some more confirmation that DB is hiding something he knows about the villa)

 

HM calls IY to her room for a chat. HM: "Let us turn ourselves in". DB: "What are you saying now?". HM says she can't take it anymore. DB says he understands how she feels but that it is all a thing of the past. It's not like SJ would come back alive, were they to do this. It will change nothing. But HM says that the guilty feeling will go away. DB asks if she is going to ruin his life, and the reputation she has built, just for feeling mental comfort. And what about the family and the company, he asks. HM: "Still, what about SJ's family?". DB: "Is this the time to think of that family? If this becomes known, even the company will be in peril. Don't you know... that it was to take away the ultrasound drill technique? If that is exposed, it will harm the company too". HM says that this is not right, even then. She wants them both to accept their fate and start again, if they are culpable.

 

HM: "In any case, it was not intentional but a mistake, wasn't it?"
DB: "Then we should've rather done it then. At this point, you think that story will be believed? No way".
HM: "I will testify, and let us face the wrath together". (Now DB had a serious look) DB: "Mother, your testimony will be of no use. Also, no culpability should be established on you. If you turn yourself in, you can survive, but I am different. I will be finished just like that. Is that what you wanted? Did you reveal that I am adopted, and get father to release Taeyeon Retail's affiliation, because of this?"
HM: "It is not like that".
DB: "It had better be so. If this comes out, it won't be just me who gets hurt. Do this for a feeling of comfort, you mean? You think it will be the case with JH? If the truth is revealed, knowing JH's nature, do you think he will have peace of mind? Not knowing can also be the best medicine. That is the situation we have.

 

DB gets up, saying he can get through this but that HM should just think about JH. There is no need to push away the one and only son she has. He says that and leaves.

 

[So we finally get confirmation that these two did something, which she thinks was unintentional, for stealing SJ's technique. Probably DB did something, and HM's culpability seems minimal from what he says. He has confused HM with the JH-will-be-hurt line and stalled her for now, it seems.]

Episode 92 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 13:15 to 22:00)

 

IY is outside the room, and asks Maid Nam to leave HM alone, as she is having some important chat. IY lies to Maid Nam that she has no made progress in finding out more on the YR matter because of being busy at work. She will do it soon. Maid Nam says fine.

 

At BS' favorite traditional restaurant, BS hints to IY that he might have her handle the Finance office. (he didn't say that it is at Director Jeon's position, but YR can probably guess that). She is happy, but acts humble.  BS asks JH to take better care of his fiancee. It is to tell YR about the Finance office that he is paying for this dinner. JH says he was planning to pay for it. BS laughs and says okay -- after all, JH and YR will be working together a lot from no on. YR acts cute and says she would rather continue to work closely with BS, as she has much to learn from him. BS asks JH to learn from YR on how to make people feel good. That is a basic item in business. JH says a cold "fine" and throws a suspicious glance at YR.

 

HM is really downcast in the bedroom. BS asks if it is because of DB and IY, and she says no. Because of IY? Again she nods no. He presses her to say what is bothering her. She just says that she feels suffocated and feels like going somewhere far away with just BS. He says he anyway wanted to take a breather, with her. They can go somewhere after he gets off from work tomorrow. She feels bad that she still has only BS to lean on, even when he is ill. He says he has only HM to lean on, too. Nice scene between the couple, but nothing serious here.

 

DB asks IY why she hasn't asked anything after learning of him and YR. She says she was waiting for DB to tell first. He gives the same story as YR did - that he was only helping YR just one time when she was in hardship, but the liking was unilateral from YR. But IY tells him that this was not what YR said. She said they had a romantic relationship (YR did say that at first, but clarified that it was unilateral too, but IY seems to be picking and choosing what she said, for an upper hand in the conversation! Good strategy.). DB says only IY matters to him. He has never once looked at YR as a woman. He had tried to get her to go back to USA but HM became friends with YR and JH and YR got hooked up. He couldn't do anything.

 

IY asks if DB was going to keep it a secret from JH. He says it was because JH and HM will get shocked. In fact, more than that, it was for fear that IY would find out that he acted like there was nothing. DB: "I wasn't thinking well. You know how much I love you. I have nobody but you".  She asks if that's all there is to it. He says yes. He doesn't even know when he will get kicked out of this family, so he has no luxury to think of anything else. DB: "Didn't I tell you, that you are all I have in this world. If even you won't believe me, then I have nobody" (DB looks at him like she is even half-believing him!)

 

DB's private investigator emails JH the file he had put together on Pak Du Sik. JH reads about PDS' suicide and about the wife abandoning their child.

 

BS tells CG to get the car ready, as he and BS are leaving on a trip. JH comes in, and BS confirms to him that they're leaving on a trip. JH wants to ask BS something - what kid of people were DB's real parents?  BS says that the dad was somebody who helped a lot in his work. During a poor time for the construction business, something bad happened and he left this world. The mother abandoned DB and all he could do was to take the child in. BS confirms that the dad's name was Pak Du Sik. JH asks if DB knows the name, and BS replies that he has never asked about the dad. Maybe he isn't curious, or maybe he doesn't want to know.

Episode 92 Translation/Recap Part 3:  (Minutes 22:00 to Episode End)

 

JH tells IY that she was right about DB to have known of his birth matter for a year. IY says that it then chronologically matches the ultrasound drill matter. JH agrees. He thinks it becomes the reason and explanation for DB's behavior. But IY thinks that it is still guesswork with no definite evidence. She thinks they need to find it, or at least a witness or an accomplice. JH asks if she knows of any accomplice, but she says she is still looking around. JH thinks that CG may be connected, based on what they know about the JM assault.

 

BS and HM come ot some place (maybe a resort or something), and CG goes in to o the check-in.

SG waits outside the Taeyeon office till CG gets off from work and takes a taxi. SG also hails a taxi and follows her. She sees IY going into the Taeyeon house, with Maid Nam also joining her. SG: "Why is she at this house?"...

 

SG goes home and asks DM why IY was going to that house. She is sure that IY is living there. SG: "You've known it, haven't you?". She is mad at DM, who doesn't know what to say. SG: "You won't talk? Fine, then let me go to that house--".  DM then offers to tell everything. DM: "The son in that house likes IY, so...". SG: "The one who came here?". DM says no; it is the older son. So then what, yells SG. DM says they let her into the house, approving a marriage. SG: "Marriage?? So you mean IY is living with that guy in their house?"... DM says the elders have made them live separately there. What nonsense is this, yells SG. If she joined Taeyeon to find out on her dad's technique, why join the family too? DM says that just working in the firm wasn't enough, so IY had no choice. SG is naturally angry. IY wasn't going to really marry him, says DM. She was going to leave. SG: "What?? She was deceiving the guy, saying she would marry him?". She is about to faint, and wants DM to call IY right now and ask her to come over. No, she is going to go there now. DM holds her back, pleading. IY may be sent to the cops if the family knows. Now SG can only slump to the floor, screaming, "are you guys even human?"

 

DB wants to help IY in some cooking, and she is cold to him. He tries to again beg her to be understanding, but she is politely cold to him. She thinks to herself, "He gave $100K to a woman he didn't even like, huh?... So which is the lie? - That he loved her, or that he didn't?"

 

DB goes to JH's room and tells him that this was the last time he would let him go, as the older brother. JH says he was wrong on the IY matter. He won't repeat it. DB says he is sorry for getting angry. JH says he is sorry too.

 

The two non-couple couples are having a steak dinner upstairs. The other three say that DB's steak is better than those at restaurants. IY uses this to bring up the matter of her mom inviting her friends and making similar food. When her family was well-off, that is. DB asks if that meant they were also in hardship. IY talks about a thief who got into her house. The family lost everything because of the thief. She almost died too, while trying to stop the thief from escaping. The thief was a friend of hers. (YR is scared to death by now!) JH asks if that friend was ever caught. IY says she met her sometime ago. The friend had met somebody she loves and was living happily. IY didn't even recognize her initially, as she had done some plastic surgery... because she had a burn scar on her face. Somehow this story makes DB and JH look at YR, who is silent with a scared look on her face. [End of Episode]

Episode 93 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0:0 to 11:00)

 

IY continues to talk about her friend who was a thief. She thought the friend must've been living in hardship somewhere, and actually wanted to meet and forgive her, but she found that to not be the case and felt foolish for thinking like that. JH asks if it was after she came to Taeyeon that she met her friend again. She says yes. Anyway it's all in the past, and even her parents haven't ever blamed that friend much. IY asks YR why she isn't eating etc.  Basically IY spoiled the mood at the dinner, and she herself apologizes for that.

 

Later YR goes and complains to YR about suffocating her with all the roundabout talk. Rather just say that she is Hong SeonHwa, says YR. And IY says that it was deliberately done for DB to hear, as she still doesn't believe that he just gave $100K out of pure pity for a woman. She doesn't understand why, after knowing that YR was Seonhwa before, he would allow her to be with his brother under a different name. YR sits down and says it was to let her have time, as she loved JH. IY asks if she really loves JH and YR says yes. Basically this conversation is kinda pointless and gets nowhere.

 

BS seems lost, as he goes to different rooms, unable to remember the resort room. He has lost his memory, as CG and HM run around looking for him. They finally find him with a hotel employee in the lobby, after she announced it over the intercom. The poor guy had gone to buy some snack that HM likes (so sweet!). But he lost his way and couldn't remember anything.

 

IY is watching DB asking YR whether she was the thief friend with a burnt scar on the face that IY was talking about. She says no and gives some weak excuses about how it is possible for IY to talk about it if that is the case, etc. He asks if she isn't hiding anything from him, and she says yes. IY thinks to herself - "to know what these two are hiding, there has to be some fissures in their relationship" (which explains why she did he dinner table charade).

 

DM calls IY to tell that SG now knows everything about what she has done. SG wants IY to get back home right away.

 

BS seems to have regained his memory, as HM brings some hot milk-tea. He asks how long he was lost. It seems to be a couple of hours. He is getting a sense that this could be how things would be, later. HM realizes that he hadn't taken the morning medicine, as she forgot to give it. She decides to go back home early. BS says he will have to hurry up to settle things at the company, before his illness worsens. He tells her about Director Jeon's resignation, and also about Director Kim resigning for embezzlement. He also tells her that it might be DB who was behind Mr. Kim, and that he has JH investigating it. It's good that YR is with JH to help, but he is worried that JH doesn't have too many people to help him, now that Mr. Jeon is also not there.

You're welcome. One of the best daily dramas in a long time - so it shouldn't go without any translations!

 

My understanding is that no subbing group is subbing it, and so there are no subtitled versions available. It seems MBC America is broadcasting it with their official subs, though they are like a couple of months behind. I don't think anybody has ripped their subs either.  So the recaps here may be the only thing around to watch this drama.

Episode 93 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 11:00 to 22:00)

 

IY comes home late at night, and SG is ready to unload on her, slapping her shoulder and all that in DM's room, after asking DM to go sleep with the aunt. She won't listen to anything IY says. She blames herself that she didn't raise her well, and IY keeps crying that she did wrong.  DM and CH can hear IY's crying in the next room, and are sad themselves. After SG calms down a bit, IY tells her that she will leave that house after confirming that they stole SJ's technique. SG says it's enough. No need to know it. She would rather not see IY ruining her whole life with this. And what if she finds that they had nothing to do with SJ's death or the assault on JM? But IY's answer is that she will for sure only be ruining her life and regretting it all her life, if she leaves now. SG says that she should do just that, as she deserves it for what she has done.  IY says that even then she has to confess and ask for forgiveness from DB. SG isn't ready to let her go back.

 

DB finds that IY is not in her room, late at night.

 

HM is sitting beside a sleeping BS and crying about what she can do now, with the issues of DB, JH and IY also there for her to handle.

 

It looks like IY managed to leave her home anyway. CG's surveillance guy sees her leaving. She gets back to the Taeyeon house and DB is still up, waiting for her. She lies that she went to buy something (abalone, if I heard right) to cook. He doesn't push her, though he looks suspicious.

 

The aunt acts like she heard nothing that SG and IY were saying in the next room. Then JM comes and ask SG to talk to him, but she is mad at JM too.

 

HM and BS come home early in the morning instead of later at night, but they don't tell DB what happened. JH goes in and asks HM and she tells him about the dementia incident. She can't stop crying. She tells him that she heard of his investigation of DB. He says he is not trying to go after DB but just doing his job.

Episode 93 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 22:00 to Episode End)

 

DB meets CG quietly in his car, to ask what is wrong with BS for him to come back early from the trip. DB tries to see if CG would talk about BS' dementia (which only YR has told DB, if I remember correctly), sweet-talking about CG being like an uncle and all that. CG won't talk, so DB tells him that he knows of BS' condition. CG is still quiet. DB says he is in a perilous situation in the family, and he can only trust CG. Then CG tells DB that he saw IY meeting JM, and that she is JM's older sister. IY is shocked, and he recalls some pointed questions from HM on exactly when he met IY.

 

DB goes to HM and asks her if IY is SJ's daughter. She says yes. She then tells him the whole thing about her coming to the house for a purpose, and about the pregnancy and miscarriage being all fake. Now DB is totally crushed. He asks about YR, and she says that YR covered up the miscarriage on IY's request. He cannot believe it, as he had gone to the Ob/Gyn and seen the ultrasound pics. Then it hits him that it could all be set up. HM confirms it with the most pathetic look on her face (what a fantastic actress!).

 

DB meets YR at the river and shakes her by her shoulder, asking what the hell she was doing. He asks if she didn't know about IY all along, and if she isn't the thief-friend that IY talked about. She doesn't answer but says sorry. She helped IY in the miscarriage out of no choice, to avoid her own identity being revealed and DB running into danger. DB is mad that they all were making a joke of him. He is mad, and asks her not to hide anything from him in a threatening way. "Do not betray me again. Not again!".

 

IY gets into DB's car, as she wants to go somewhere. She asks where, but he says it's just to get some air. He asks her to put the belt on, and starts speeding, scaring the hell out of her. He accelerates even more, as she asks him to cut the speed. He says, "Do you love me? Answer me. Fine if the pregnancy was fake.
