DB did wrong and is he trying to guilt JH? Perhaps BS and HM did not want JH to know right now. What is his motive in revealing that. JH can't change the past or the facts.

 

I don't know about anyone else watching this drama but when I see DB and YR meeting and IY and JH together I see different teams that will be fighting over that company. I see DB and YR trying to take it and I see IY and JH trying to hold on to it and defend it.

My jaw dropped while watching that scene. The nerve of DB to use that fact that he is not a biological son of that family as justification for his actions! I'm quite shocked that he told JH his birth secret and also left wondering what he's up to? Does he think JH is too soft and can be easily manipulated into understanding his reason for the chaos he created? He is destroying their father's life work for goodness sake! I hope this revelation just opens JH's eyes very clearly to the fact that DB is just greedy and I hope he points that out to the idiot. He was raised by a family that accepted him as their own and now decides to betray them not because he has enough evidence which proves or suggests that they are responsible for his biological parents' demise. Honestly, I don't think DB really cares about that...all he ever wanted was an excuse, anything to use in order to justify his actions for stabbing that family in the back. Let's not forget how envious he is of JH and that fact that he's their father's chosen heir to lead the company next. DB is simply setting himself up for a huge downfall and will not have anyone by his side when all is said and done.

 

As for your question @Ldy Gmerm , right now YR is playing both sides of the field and watching to see who wins. Right now she's in support of JH because of his father's words but will change her stance when DB takes over briefly(we know it's coming). By that time, the secret about the past involving JH and IY will be out and even YR's(I expect JH to cancel the engagement at that point which will drive her nuts!) as well. That's when the real battle for the company starts.

Yes DB is and he will not get it until the only family he knows has distances themselves due to his actions in trying to ruin them and take over the company. I too feel like he will succeed simply because BS is sick and JH is just starting to get his feet wet with this company. DB has been dirty dealing behind the scenes to gain favor with the board and others.  I also agree that he will only have the company for a short amount of time but will have caused a lot of problems with his method of management. 

 

I see you are right about YR she is playing both sides trying to see which is more beneficial to her. I feel like in the long run she will get burned from doing this and I frankly can't wait to see if it will happen. I also expect JH to cancel that engagement which will only further instigate her to want to win over IY. At least there does not seem to be a dull moment in this drama.

I have still not made a clear judgment on whether I hate YR.  You and @tinatrix236 may both be right that she is just selfish and nothing else.  On the other hand, we have not seen her doing any deliberate to harm anybody yet, and she has shown unusual conscience in wanting to make amends for what she did to IY's family, however small a repayment that is.  She is coming through with intel on things IY asks for, even now (though that may also be because she wants IY out of there ASAP).  Anyway, till she starts to actually do things to deliberately mess things up for JH or IY, I will give her some benefit of doubt. But let us see.  I agree that a higher probability is that there is really nothing redeeming in her, and that she is just a selfish bad woman like you both seem to think.

 

Looks like she is going to have her jealousy go up several notches soon, based on what I just saw in Ep. 77.  he may drop all pretensions of having any good side to her, and turn evil.

 

You're damn right!  There is never a dull moment in this drama.  Twists and turns just keep on coming.

One more correction on a word.  I have been using the world "world phone".  I actually knew all along that it did not exactly sound like they were saying "world phone".  Just that a world phone is at least some kind of a phone that did did exist.  But I just could not figure out what were they saying, and it was bothering me for a while. 

 

Finally I figured it out today.  What they say as "poldopone" is actually the English word "Folder Phone".

 

I had never heard the word "folder phone", but apparently that is what they call a "flip phone" in Korea.  I guess that is Konglish - which by definition needs to have some sort of a mistake in it...  Because the proper English word, I assume, would be "folding phone"?  Anyway, the world "folder phone" does seem to exist outside Korea too.  Maybe I didn't know.

 

So, my apologies.  I will correct the earlier references to the "World Phone" to "Folder Phone".

By the way, since it is one of the E76 clips above, here is the translation of what IY told the dissenting residents, which I had skipped in the recap earlier.

After telling them about how hard they are trying to understand the real issues the resident have, IY tells them that over 80% of the residents have agreed (implying that legally the residents have no real leverage). One dissenter says that she knows it too, that they will have to sell the apartment even if they don't want to, if the apartment association were to apply for the right to sell (something DB had told BS before JH and DB argued in BS' office).  IY: "Then what did Ms. Jang tell you when she asked all of you to demonstrate?". The dissenting guy says that she told them that she could get them a higher price in that sales.  IY says that it isn't like they can get a higher price just from going and picketing. Rather they will only lose the chance for a dialog with the company. A dissenting woman says that the remodeling will only cost a lot of money but the house prices won't rise fast. IY says that they are doing everything to cut the residents' expense burden with various types of apartments and prices, etc. So they won't have any regret on the money spent, once the construction is done. By leading the demonstration, Ms. Jang was just adding to everybody's anxiety, making things worse, and in the end only damaging all of them. That too, she is somebody who approved of the remodeling earlier. The two women friends of IY supports her on that. One of the lady's younger brother had checked with the city's ward officer, who says there is no use in even filing a lawsuit. Now IY starts  sweet-talking them, saying she understands why everybody opposes the remodeling. Even making a living is tough for many. "So you are wondering why mess with a perfectly okay apartment, right?".  She asks them to think of their kids.  She talks about how great a child would feel about a dad who worked hard and helped make his/her room better. For the kids, their room and house is the first thing in the world. Please help your kids have their dreams, she says. (Haha!). Plus, they will do what is needed for them to keep their current memories of their apartments.  By the time she said this much, they all were ready to go out and demonstrate in support of the pretty designer to run for president!

 

 

Episode 77 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 00.00 to 12.00)

 

DB says that he couldn't believe it. No, he didn't want to believe it that he was not the real son of his Mom and Dad. JH asks how that can be a reason for what he did. DB says it is reason enough, for him. He thought he was being kicked out of Taeyeon, and was being abandoned just like that. So he wanted to make things tough, but only briefly. He was going to help immediately. JH asks why he would do all that.  Now DB gives a somewhat passable reason. He wanted to help fix things and show that Taeyeon needed him, and that he was needed by JH's side (the ability of Korean drama writers to make some reasonable-sounding justifications for evil characters is uncanny, I say!). DB: "You are Father's son. Whether you succeed or fail, you will be fine. But it's not so for me, is it? I can survive only if I show my abilities". JH says that it is nonsense, considering how BS trusts him at the company. DB: "Then why would he reveal that I'm not a real son?". He tells JH that BS had released Taeyeon Retail's affiliation, and that HM had asked him to move residence too. (JH seems to see some logic in what he is saying). DB says that what he did was wrong, still.  Such a thing won't happen again, he says. He is sorry.

 

JH and IY come home back to back, and both of them look out of it, as theu go up to their rooms, without saying much to the parents. HM wonders what is up. BS asks her not to be too sensitive. They are no kids after all.

 

HM goes up to talk to DB. HM: "Your father and I were talking. Shouldn't we just tell JH and IY?". DB says he told JH already. He said he was adopted. He said it today. HM asks how JH took it, and DB gets angry at HM that she was thinking of how JH would feel, and not about how he himself felt. He calms down and apologizes soon though.

 

YR goes to JH's room to congratulate him on him fixing the Hanbit Apts problem, but he is in no mood to talk, and goes to wash up.

 

HM and BS wonder about how the relationship between DB and JH will be, from now on. Nothing much here.

 

Maid Nam tells HM, IY and YR that both he guys have left very early without even having breakfast. They both left separately. IY says they must have work, but YR and IY sense that something is up.

 

HM reminds BS that today is their exercise day. She says she will meet JH after their exercise outing.

 

SG tells CH that the house where they gave all those side dishes have said they no longer want to continue ordering. CH asks why, but SG doesn't know.  She is not making a big deal if it though.  CH is sad that her plans to build her network got nowhere. She is mad and want to ask them to return the rice puff candies! Anyway, she decides to work on that choir master now.  It seems that man lives alone. The aunt wants to take a cake (made by SG, who else?) to him.  They come out and see JM calling DM to go walking with him. The aunt makes remarks on why they both want to walk together, and annoys DM as usual. She tells CH that she is walking with him as it is less boring.  "Now that you say it, we may even do some dating in the process. You happy?" ... SG also asks CH to give it a rest, and just do some dating herself if she wants. CH is sad about what she can do....

 

Nothing serious in DM's and JM's chat as they walk. Just friendly chatter.

Episode 77 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 12.00 to 22.15)

 

In DB's office, YR asks if something is on between the brothers. DB says there is nothing. She asks if JH knows of DB throwing blocks in the Hanbit work. DB wants to know if JH said anything to YR. She says no. She just finds JH to be acting strange, and DB himself looks like he is caught. She reminds him that they are in this together. He can't fail. DB asks her to take care of JH... like, go out on a date to celebrate the fixing of the Hanbit problem.

 

Mr. Jo and Ms. Ha go for lunch. Mr. Yun tells IY that he had asked about her at her previous company, Han River Interior. IY tells him that she knew. She is fine about it. He still apologizes, and offers to buy coffee after lunch.  As they all have coffee, BS goes by with CG.  Ms. Ha thinks that CG is a bit weird and never seems to be a matching character to BS.  Then Mr. Jo acts like he knows some serious intel, and talks about how CG really helped BS some 30 years ago when Taeyeon and the young chairmen were in serious crisis. So CG is very close to BS.  (I think he said no real details here, unless I missed it).  He says CG was just a gang boy troublemaker in the Yeongdeungpo area of Seoul. IY listens carefully to all this but says nothing. Ms. Ha wonders if CG is above 50 in age, in that case. Mr. Jo thinks he may not be, but Ms. Ha  wonders if CG was under even 20 at that time. Mr Yun thinks if he was a Yangdeungpo troublemaker, the age doesn't fit in right. They think "Jospatch" (who is like a Korean Sherlock Holmes) is making this up, and they leave.

 

HM sits and talks to JH in a quiet park, about what his brother told him. When he asks how DB came to the family, she says that he was the son of a close friend of BS'. His father had died and HM doesn't know what happened to his mother. DB's father was somebody who helped BS a lot through difficult times. She asks him to stay by DB's side and help him, as this is very hard on DB now.

 

IY goes to YR and asks what exactly CG does in Taeyeon. YR is surprised at the sudden question, but IY is curious if he does anything other than be the personal secretary of BS. YR doesn't know of CG doing anything other than keeping BS' schedule and escorting him around. YR asks if she should check on the personnel department files on CG, and IY says she would appreciate it.

 

IY then reminds YR about something she asked YR before. About who it was that called IY from a "polduppon" ("Folder Phone," a word that I had earlier mistaken for "World Phone") that she had call-records of. IY: "Try to remember it once more. You really don't recall?". YR: "I don't know. How will I remember something from 4 months ago?". IY: "So you don't remember what call it was, but remember when it was?". YR: "I was remembering only what you asked me earlier" (Nice escape, there!).  IY says it is important for her. IY: "If you want me to hurry up and leave from being near JH,  try hard to remember it!".  She leaves, and YR is worried like hell.

 

YR goes straight to DB and asks if he ever found the lost burner phone that he used to call her from. He wants to know why she asked suddenly. She says she just happened to remember some guy calling her then asking it was to find the owner of that phone. DB tells her that he had found that phone. She asks whether he met that guy who called her. DB asks why she wants to know. YR: "I just got worried about it. If you get caught, I get caught, and we will be finished, you know". DB says nothing, and just asks her to take care of her JH duties.

 

YR goes and asks JH if they could have a dinner outing tonight. He thinks it's better to get home early for a family dinner, as he had skipped a home breakfast today. She agrees, but says "It's fine; I am used to getting rejected by you", putting on some little girl act. He then says she can call HM and tell her that they are eating out. YR acts happy and says she is okay. JH: "So we will eat at home, then?". YR says she will call HM. She leaves, after saying goodbye to the office team, and they get into a discussion of work-place romance.  Mr. Yun wonders if DB doesn't have a woman he is going to marry. Nothing serious here. IY goes to JH's office.

Episode 77 Translation/Recap Part 3:  (Minutes 22.15 to Episode End)

 

IY takes a file with more agreements from residents, that those two ajumma friends helped her get. JH commends IY for the good work. She asks if he can't tell her now, who the person behind the picketing was. He lies that it was some executive from another company that lost out in the bid for the project. She is a little unconvinced that there was a need for somebody to go this far. He changes subject and asks her to tell at home that he was going out for dinner with YR.

 

BS and HM are having dinner, and she tells him about her chat with JH today. She thinks JH will be fine. He asks what happened to the good side-dishes that he liked. She tells him that it was bothering his stomach. He actually doesn't argue though she is probably making it up!

 

DM and JM are about to have instant noodles at a convenience store. He breaks an egg and it splashes on him.  CG's spy is taking a photo of them. She goes to the counter and he goes out to throw the napkins in the trash bin. Here comes a motorbike guy to hit him. JM is injured, and the motorbike guy escapes before DM and JM could see who it was.

 

DM calls IY who runs out. JH heard her asking, "JM?? Which hospital?".. JH asks, "what is wrong? Did something happen to your brother?".  She runs, saying he got into an accident. He follows her. YR sees her running out, from upstairs.

 

IY is out on the street looking for a cab, and JH comes around in his car. She wants to go by herself. He tells her that he "had met Jae Min" and wanted to take care to the hospital. YR sees them leaving, from upstairs in the office building.

 

JM has a cast on his hand, in the hospital. Nothing too serious. He jokes with DM. Then IY and JH come in. JM says he isn't hurt as badly as he thought. DM tells IY about the motorbike hit. IY asks her if it was the guy who was the stalker guy. JM thinks it wasn't him, but DM isn't sure. She had asked the convenience store guy to report it to the police but they may not find the motorbike guy.

 

JM asks if IY was in Seoul, to come running like this - "You are often coming rom Namhae to Seoul, huh?".  IY says there was some work. JM asks how JM and IY know each other, and how they came together. She gives excuses that their companies are on some common work, etc. DM tells JM to not let his mom know, as she would be sad about IY not telling her that she had come to Seoul. JH calls a cab for them. JM wants to know if IY is really returning to Namhae tonight. She says yes, and they leave.

 

As JH and IY are walking. JH says he felt JM didn't believe her. JH: "I too need to hear it now. What was the reason for you to come to our house? Don't give me the lies like you love my brother and all that. Tell me truthfully. Is my family connected to your father's death and the assault on your brother?"... She is silent. JH: "Tell me. Only then can I help you". After a long pause, IY says, "That is correct. The culprit behind  my father's death, and also my brother's incident, is in your family". She continues, "I suspect the same on today's incident too. Knowing I think like that, would you still be able to help?".    [End of Episode]

Episode 78 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0.30 to 11.45)

 

IY says she realizes that it was a tough thing for JH to hear. He says he can't believe it. Is she sure? She says if she were, she would have told the cops and wouldn't do this. This is why she never told him, and why there was nothing he could do for her. IY: "If you care for me, please act unawares". JH: "When my dad, mom or brother could well have killed somebody, how can I act unawares?".  She asks if he can believes her, but she already knows he can't. She will go to the cops if she can find any evidence. JH says it will be tough for her to get forgiven for using the kindness/heart of his family, whether she is proven right or not. She says she knows it and she will have to handle it. Whether people curse her, or she ends up in jail, she will just have accept it. He asks why she makes her life difficult like this. IY: "Because I had to protect my family. This was all I could do then". She continues that this is why she never told him. She hated making it complicated. JH says nothing is sure yet, so he cannot believe her on this. She says she is indeed sure. That is why she wants him to act like he never heard this.

 

CH is into singing now, not letting SG sleep. She thinks if she sings this well, that choir singing instructor would like her. He is single, apparently. She is all dreamy. SG realizes that DM and JM aren't back. They hear sounds outside, and find that they are back, with JM injured. JM says it was a motorbike accident and was nothing much. DM says it was just the bike falling in front of him, etc. DM helps him to his room. JM again asks her if IY is really in Namahe, but she gives excuses again.  (By the way, if anybody forgot what I said earlier, Namhae is on the southern coast of Korea, a good 4-5 hour drive away; so no wonder that he has his suspicions)

 

DB asks YR what happened to JH. He thought they were going out tonight. She says he must have some other urgent appointment, and asks DB where IY is. DB says she got a text that the friend was in hospital and went there. YR asks if it's the same friend she did the recent trip with. DB isn't sure. YR remarks that IY seems to have many friends. DB says, "she is good-natured, you know" and goes to his room, and YR murmurs, "yeah sure, she is good-natured".

 

YR confronts JH and IY in front of the house. She yells at them when JH says that something urgent came up. What? Something with the Hanbit Apts? When IY tries to say, "Not that. Rather, it was...", JH cuts her off and asks her to go inside. Now YR really yells. "Tell me what it is, before going in!".  JH says he and YR can talk about this, and sends IY in. He tells her sorry for being out like this. IY had got a call that a friend of hers was in an accident and was running out. He went along, as he couldn't act like he didn't see it. YR tells him that there are rumors that he and IY are dating. YR: "However much I know that your brother is there between you and her, I am also a woman! I would worry when I hear those rumors, and get jealous to see you two together. That would only make me start hating her, okay?"

 

DB is having a drink in the library, and IY joins him. He is worried about moving out of the house after their marriage, that he would drift apart from the parents and JH. She doesn't say anything.

 

YR is sitting in IY's room, waiting for her. IY tells her that it was JM who was in the accident. JH just got worried and followed her, that is all. She didn't know he had dinner plans with YR, so she apologizes. YR is still angry at her. It is no friggin dinner plans that makes her angry, she says. She just doesn't want them to hang around with each other. IY: "JH will be marrying you". YR: "But you aren't marrying DB, are you? When you aren't, you think JH will marry me? You think I'm a fool?". She knows that his eyes are always on IY, so how can she let it go?  IY: "JH and I are never to be. I will promise you". It sounded a bit weak, but YR leaves the room.

Only thing I can continue to hope for is YR completely peels off that sweet mask she shows to JH. More and more her jealousy and envy of IY is coming back out. I feel like she felt the same way when she was younger and it is also why she thought it was ok to steal the deed to their house and ruin them running away. I do not trust YR and can really see her outing IY's true motives to DB and the rest if for no other reason then spite and get her in trouble due to her jealousy. Sure, IY's excuses that nothing will happen with JH is very  weak (as you can see the love between the two a mile away), but at the same time YR knows what or possible what IY is up to and her motives. If she feels this threatened and makes such a big deal now she will really blow up later when JH finally decides no to her completely.

 

At first I gave her the benefit of doubt given the arguments made in this thread concerning her possible feelings for JH after his kindness to her, but the more she acts like a jealous shrew the more I see it as not really love, but the need to not let JH be with the woman who is still in his heart who happens to be IY who she prolly always felt inferior too. Not to loose out to IY. I have to wonder if she feels that IY already had one man who she loved (DB) now she has learned that JH and IY were/are in love still and she could loose out again to someone sweet and caring like JH to IY once more.

 

YR and DB seem to have the same temperament (perhaps I am the only one who sees it that way .. ) as does IY and JH have the same (kind, sweet, caring, smart and rational). Both YR and DB thinking whatever they want and not changing that mindset, but also both prone to fly off the handle and do impulsive and evil things that they justify with reasons that do not fully explain why they did something so bad to people who cared for them. I shudder to think of DB's reaction when he learns the truth of who IY is and what her purpose was in approaching him. I can only think he will totally be like YR with the knowledge of JH and IY's past relationship and can see the love between them still. We all know he has been very jealous and felt displaced in that family after JH was born. This will only intensify if he looses the woman he likes because she was never his in the first place and only used him. I can see the battle lines being drawn slowly between the brothers and women soon given we are going into the eighties. The more that JH investigates if there is truth in what IY suspects the more we are going to see a big fight for that company given BS's illness.

 

I still find DB's reason for why he tried to sabotage JH's project to be lame and awful. He wanted to play the hero because he is adopted and look good at JH's expense. He wanted to make JH look incompetent so he could look good to BS and the board. So basically he tried to step on JH in order to make himself looked accomplished and it was because he did not have BS's favor to take over , over JH the bio son. DB seems to forget he has had some mishaps in the past that has shown he is not that competent. He honestly feels he has been done wrong and that his mother and father were too perhaps and is owed something or the feeling of entitlement is coming.

Episode 78 Translation/Recap Part 2:  (Minutes 11:45 to 21:15)

 

DM calls IY and asks her to tell the truth to JM. IY thinks it is dangerous for him to know. DM thinks it is even more dangerous if JM follows up on his suspicions, knowing how he is. She suggests telling JM, before the mom also gets wind of something.

 

Breakfast at the Taeyeon house. DB comments about BS's good work with his exercises. HM asks YR to join her for a trip to the showroom in the afternoon. YR had suggested some interior decoration changes for the aunt's room (which is where IY currently is, IIRC); they can look for things at the showroom.  DB doesn't look happy (maybe because it implies his moving out, or because he doesn't want YR wasting time when she should work on JH). HM asks YR to meet her at the showroom.  HM and BS had noticed that JH and YR didn't seem happy, and they talk about it in their room. BS says it must be just a lovers' squabble. HM is worried, because neither of them are the squabbling kind.

 

YR gives BS a book to note down the details of his meetings, food, exercises, etc. She will help monitor things. He thanks her, and asks if anything is up between her and JH. She says she just got a bit mad for being stood up last night. BS says that was good. It will help him get better. She says JH is different from BS. He ignores her often. BS thinks that it is just from all the Hanbit work. He advises her that women should get proper apologies from their men, but do it quickly and move on. He then tells her that HM is expecting them also to move out like DB and IY. She puts on her little-girl act, saying, "you can ask JH to move out. Not me". He finds it cute.

 

SG and CH are talking and SG is concerned that this might not have been a simple motorbike accident. The guy escaped, so she thinks this is a hit-and-run too. She gets concerned enough that she decides to go to the cops. CH calls IY and tells her that her mom just ran to the police station.  IY asks the team-leader to let her to step out for a couple of hours for something urgent that came up. He lets her go. JH sees her running, and again goes after her. The team members notice it, and Mr. Jo thinks that something is going on between them.

 

SG is talking to a cop, and he basically doesn't want to do much. There are much bigger cases than a simple motorbike hit for them to look into. IY comes in and pulls her out. She tells SG that this and the earlier hit aren't connected. SG asks how she knows that. IY says that DM is doing some asking around, which may be more successful in finding what happened, and calms her down. SG asks why she is in Seoul again, and she again gives some urgent work travel excuse. The mom leaves and IY sees JH waiting there for her.

She saw IY and JH together and revealed she has a card which would be useful I think which is BS’s dementia diagnosis to DB. She certainly is a vindictive and dangerous woman! 

 

Like you I can’t wait for her to take off that mask in front of JH so that he sees her true colors.

This is my view of her. She is vindictive and she is jealous and she will see this as IY stealing from her when in truth she never really had JH to begin with. He liked her and he prolly would have bit the bullet and married her for his parents sake but his heart was not truly with her.

 

I was wondering when she would tell DB about BS being ill. I knew as soon as we heard the diagnoses that DB would use it to take that seat from BS and the company. Its a shame but then he has to do it so that he can fall far and learn his lesson.

 

The more that YR acts out the more JH will end up seeing her. She is desperate in my view to get him married to her so he will not turn back to IY. She is very scared that all her plans will fall if JH knows that IY is not planning to marry DB. LOL but JH already knows this. smh at her acting jealous and ugly at JH and IY being together innocently.

Yes, @tinatrix236 and @Ldy Gmerm, YR seems to be completely losing it. I had some hope that she might still have some redeeming qualities in her and might turn out to be a kinder/gentler scam artist, but no.  She is pretty much filled with jealousy and selfish interests.  Yes, she is on a warpath and has told DB at the end of Ep 79 that

BS has dementia, prefacing it as the card she had, that will advance the timing of DB taking over as the owner of Taeyeon.  I guess that means she expects DB to possibly spread the word to the director board and force BS out due to incompetence or something (just a guess)

But the good thing is that it is still rather doubtful if she would stick all the way through with DB.  Once she gets the sense that JH and IY have enough on DB to bring him down, she may well cut losses and run away from DB.  Or maybe she will try to get her $3 million from him, and then run (and hopefully get caught too!).  Who knows.  Tough to predict.

Episode 78 Translation/Recap Part 3:  (Minutes 21.15 to Episode End)

 

JH and IY sits down and talk. JH: "On Uncle's death and the assault on your brother, whom do you suspect?"... She says nothing. JH: "You said that your brother is being tailed even now. Talk to me, so I can help you". IY: "You don't believe what I say, right?". JH asks if it is his father. IY says she doesn't know. All she knows is that the ultrasound drill was a technology from her dad, that her dad died, and that the technology was with Taeyeon. JM had suspected from newspaper accounts that Dad's death may have been a murder, and started investigating Taeyeon, but suffered a hit. JH asks if she joined the Taeyeon house just like that, with no evidence.  IY says she had no other way, with JM's being unconscious in a hospital. JH asks what she has found so far. IY says she heard from the technology R&D office that it was technology brought from China that failed, and that the responsibility was placed on the New Tech office chief, Han Gyeong Taek, who was kicked out. The one behind Mr. Han was Director Kim, and the one behind Director Kim seems to be DB. So says IY. "My brother?", asks JH. IY says she is not sure if it is DB, or BS, or just anybody in the company. JH: "I will help". IY: "No, let me do it by myself". JH: "You said you're doing it to protect your family. It's the same for me". Whether her suspicions are right or wrong, he cannot just sit and do nothing. He too needs the truth revealed for his family's sake. JH: "You believe your brother. I too believe my brother". She says nothing.

 

YR brings a box of files to DB and says she can't find any richard simmons or problems. DB asks her to keep looking. Anything that has his dad's involvement. YR says this is the last set of files from the finance team.  DB thinks Director Jeon should still have some papers he is holding. YR asks if he isn't on DB's side already, anyway. DB says that no matter how much he moved to DB's side, he is not yet out of BS' shadow. He can't be sure when Director Jeon would pull the rug from under. DB thinks that those files must contain some tricks they can use. He says he has talked to a financial fraud expert, and wants YR to deal with him directly from now on. Looks like he wants her to go along to see him right now. She has to cancel her plans to meet HM (at the showroom), which she does, as DB insists that this work is more important.

 

HM tells YR that it's okay if she goes by herself to the showroom. Her office manager comments on how much Hm seems to like YR, and asks if the second son is getting married soon, and also if it would be before the first son. HM says the older son also has a fiancee.

 

JH drives IY back. Sitting in the car, he says he will find out on the ultrasound drill matter. IY: "I think it was pointless of me to tell you. In case what I said is true, will you even be able to tell me?". He is silent. IY: "If the criminal is in your family, that is". He says nothing and she gets out. They run into DB and YR leaving.  DB says they are going to see the CPA (chartered accountant). DB goes to get his car and JH to park his car. YR looks pretty mad at seeing IY and JH together, and gives IY a nasty warning - "Don't you remember what kind of girl Hong Seon Hwa was? Better be careful".

 

JH asks BS about the ultrasound drill, for use in the Hanbit Apartments.  BS says it was a failed project, and that it is better to talk DB than him. It was something from the New Projects office, but DB and Director Kim were the ones who pushed for it. Though they dropped it, there should be documents on it. JH: "So there is nothing you know about the ultrasound drill?".. BS: "It was DB's thing, from the start to the finish". BS says he went with it, trusting all the confidence from DB, but that it didn't end well.

 

JH goes to see DB. He is nice with DB, who still looks uncomfortable, after the earlier confession. JH says that DB doesn't have to worry. For him, DB is still his brother. "From my birth till now, I had you with me, and I was always the younger brother of Kang Ding Bin".  DB says it is the same for him. No matter how much he thinks, he cannot consider BS, HM and JH to not be family. DB starts, "On that Hanbit Apartments thing.." and JH cuts him off, saying they don't need to even talk about it. He wants to forget it, so DB should also forget it. DB says thanks. Then JH asks for a favor. He needs the password for the confidential company files. He says it is to get an idea of what happened in the company when he was out, and on the various technologies the company has. Perhaps because he got caught in a nice mood, DB just writes down the password and gives it, asking JH to be careful with it, as the proprietary company info are all there. It's a password that changes once a month, as he says in passing. Once JH leaves, DB seems to worry about what he just did! [This was some smart work by JH, who sweet-talked  first, even if t may have been somewhat sincerely, and then got what he wanted!]

 

HM is at the showroom, and sees DM there. She is puzzled. Then she hears somebody call her "Ms. Kong Da Mi".  She asks the floor manager what the employee's name is, and gets it confirmed as Kong Da Mi.  Of course, the family name "Kong" (instead of the "Kim" that she expected) does seem to catch her attention. [End of Episode]

Episode 79 Translation/Recap Part 1:  (Minutes 0.00 to 13:00)

 

After seeing that DM's name was "Kong" Da Mi, HM comes to her office and calls somebody to ask for the Personnel Dept's bio page on her to be faxed to her office. She gets the fax, and find on it the names of DM's parents (Mr. Kong Jin Ho and Ms. Kim Hyeon Ju, who live in Jeju Island). She goes to where SG lives and observes SG from her car, possibly waiting to see if DM is around.

 

CH tells SG that she got scared to see SG running out to see the cops yesterday. SG says that is how people react when it comes to their children. CH is surprised that IY got there too, after she called. CH again says that IY seems to be in Seoul all the time. SG also looks a bit suspicious.

 

JH looks at the ultrasound drill files. He goes to the window, and thinks about the first two reports showing that it was a failure on the site tests, and wonders why things changed in the third report. He goes back and checks again. He finds the first two reports to be by a Pak Yeong Jun, and the third one to be by a different guy, Kim Dae Gyeong.

 

YR tells DB that things aren't great between her and JH now, and he gets upset. This is not the time for YR and JH to have a lovers' squabble. She says she is in no squabble, but making strong decisions to clear DB's way forward. DB tells that JH took the password for the company's confidential files. He wants to know why JH asked for that. She asks what secret is there that JH shouldn't see. He says there is none. She wants to know why he is so bothered then. He says he doesn't like JH taking such deep interest in the company. YR doesn't buy it, and asks if he is hiding something from her. She reminds him that they are business partners in the same boat. She can help only if he won't hide things. She reminds him that she is the one person who can't get out, or sink, without him also with her. He asks if she doesn't have anything she is hiding, in that case. She says no.

 

DB brings some coffee for the P&D team, and gives an envelop of bonus money for the team, which he says is from the chairman, for their good work. He talks to JH and asks if he looked at all the confidential files. JH lies that he still hasn't. DB says he can ask if he wants anything in there explained. He also thinks that YR looked sad about being stood up.  JH is surprised that they both even discuss such things. DB says that it's just their becoming close these days due to all the work. He advises JH to not delay making up to her. JH agrees.

 

DB and IY are having a lunch outing. She brings up the ultrasound drill and says she was disappointed that it was a failed scheme. DB says he also thought, based on what Director Kim said, that it was some path-breaking thing. She says casually, that she heard that DB pushed ahead with it when everybody was against it. He also acts casual about it but wants to know who she heard such things from. From the overseas projects office staff, says IY. She asks him to be careful about being too close to Director Kim. It is like a fox next to the tiger, from what she has heard. She thinks the director is doing big talking, using DB's backing. She is worried that it would later bring some bad name to DB.

 

YR and JH are also at a restaurant. She talks about some fishing analogy that BS had said about dating as a push and pull process.  She thinks they are now in the push mode. He apologizes for last night. She says BS asked her to show understanding to him. She doesn't like the elders having to be watching them like this. She wants to make up and go home today. He says thanks. She then brings up her phone chat yesterday with her grandma who wants them to get married quickly. She wonders if that would be disrespectful to IY to marry first, but she thinks DB may not marry IY anyway. JH asks what she meant. She thinks the wedding will be tough if by any chance DB or the parents hears of IY's baby story. She thinks IY is gutsy. YR would be so scared she couldn't handle doing something like that. She asks what JH thinks of IY. He says she must have had sufficient reason. IY: "what if you were put through this?". Would he be able to still love her and forgive her?  JH is silent. YR: "See that!". She thinks it will be tough in the future too, even if they get married, if the truth comes out.  That is why she thinks she and JH should get married first. If something goes wrong with DB's wedding, then their wedding would be tough to do for a while. JH says he hasn't thought about all that, but she wants him to think about it. For her grandma's sake. She says she is sad that he is like a different guy now, from when he said he would marry her and go to the U.S. He just says sorry, and that's it.
