So, soompi forum is back on yayyyyyy!!!!

I took a day off of school today and re read few chapters of the novel. Thank you for the kind souls who translated it and shared it, was it you @alvinboi?

I have few rolling eyes moment when I read some chapters, especially when CJD repeated herself that these boys are not attracted to any other male, just to each other. And when Gu Hai was studying the male kamasutra, the translation wrote that is not as if he is interested in male sex. Am sorry, but wtf is that?

Is it just her smart move to get the hetero women to stay tune and not get scared much by the idea of homosexuality? And tried hard to steer the crowd that these boys are straight ( you can see me rolling eyes and one eyebrow up) but they only have desire for each other, and that's why the word pansexual came out?

I have read some discussion pages ago that at least the boys would be bisexual if not gay. If they both were attracted to their previous gfs physically at least. I just somehow feel a bit insulted to read that particular sentence. I mean, what's wrong if they're indeed gay? (The characters I mean). Is it because writing them as pure gay will be a big no no since even the bl themed was banned and maybe if it's pure gay movie of boys in their adolescene coming of age  perhaps a bit too much for the society? If this had been discussed would you please show me where?

Thank you.

Looking at @aeislaeigh & @ximichem new pics of ZZ, now they're both seems losing weight. Before it was just obvious that Johnny lost so much weight, but now Timmy too :(

You ask, here, very serious questions. Need some time to respond, will, definitly, because it is a well known and very long time dicussed topic.

Spoiler

Glad you come back to intellectual level. It is safer.

I have read about this phenomenon before, on why women really likes yaoi or yuri and the gay and lesbian does not really enjoy them at all. One of the reason was quite interesting, because there's no competition. Like when male enjoy lesbian porn, because there's no male competition there, and same goes with yaoi. I guess yaoi also attracts non straight people (looking at you and me for example), but I agree with @shuwei that the target market indeed are heterosexual women.

I do like it, if it's a great story and it's well written and it grabs my interest. But not all yaoi grabs my interest. There's a lot of yaoi stories out there that are just bad, bad, bad... and an insult to the paper it's written on.

CJD is different from the typical yaoi author. Specifically, the uke (Bai Luoyin) does not fit the genre portrayal of a weak, feminine pretty boy. In fact, Bai Luoyin can hold his own against Gu Hai, and even assume the dominant sexual position on some occasions later on in the novel. I guess this is one of the many reasons why this series has a wider appeal than other BL movies too, and why both of them are so popular now.

It's also why this particular story grabbed my interest. :)

Happy belated (was supposed to post this some days ago haha) 1 month anniversary(6/3/2016) to me addicted to Addicted. Here, I'll post something in memory. This is an article from my local newspaper that let me know about this series during 24/2/2016 or 25/2/2016(don't remember but I took the photo 1 or 2 days later on 26/2/2016) BUT, I didn't watch it after I know.

I don't really watch dramas a lot (maybe I would watch a bit sometime when my parents was watching tv but it was on and off(mostly off). I'm also not that interested in modern setting BL. I rarely read newspaper too so must be some kind of fate I would read it. But the BL caught my attention though as I'm a BL lover(read a lot of Chinese BL novels (mostly I only read sci-fi BL novels) and watch BL animes/manga) The newspaper headline said the web drama was taken down because the main chara name is connected to drug.

So on 26/2/2016 I snapshot this newspaper clipping and send to my China friend to ask her about it. She confirm with me that she can't watch the last 3 eps and ask me to download for her. I have been keeping the 1st ep of Addicted youtube tab open but never really watch it.  In my mind goes like (wow, 15 eps! I want to wait till I have a lot of time to watch all in one go)

Then on 6/3/2016 by some great force of fate, I picked up the newspaper again and noticed this news. JY beat TFBoys in the weibo ranking and become 1st. So I got curious and it was Sunday which I have time and I watch ep1 and there was no return, I finished all 15eps by the time I realize it. By then I also noticed that each eps are so short, not the usual almost 1 hour format for tv series. And then, the addiction became deep with no way back LOL.

BTW, I think my local newspaper took these news from Taiwan news.... probably.

Yeah... I think if JY and ZZ are not as famous as they are now, at the very least they will be walking together comfortably like Fengsong and Chen Wen. But now? No chance, I guess. Because the moment fans know they will be together in airport, they will swarm the airport.

Just look at how fans swarmed ZZ in airport tonight. I think this is the biggest mob that ever swarmed them? Even the one at Changsa was not this big. Maybe because ZZ was MIA for days?

Seeing ZZ and JY getting mobbed almost at every place they go reminds me of how scary (not really scary but overwhelming) it is to be an artist in China. Chinese fans seem to be a bit more passionate so they'll do whatever they can to be next to their idols, meanwhile I'm so used to Korean fans' culture - give personal space to idols on their unofficial schedules and only go all out for official schedules.

I agree with you though, more fans seemed to come since ZZ went MIA for days

Edit: JY looked so bad today, he looked super tired with red eyes and dark circles :/ he needs his rest like ZZ did.

I love they are getting the attention, but it takes away their privacy and everything. It's the price they have to pay. I love the way they are before, walking, talking like a normal friends but now we cannot see anything from them. Their schedule is usually different and we can't see the friendship growing and expanding. It doesnt matter friendship or something more than that, they always beautiful together. But we can't see even a tiny bit of their real interaction other than on tv or show. I'm sad okay? Gosh I'm not that emotional. Maybe I am.

Yeah, i think because this is ZZ appearance since the MIA. People have missed him so much and do worry about him. But seriously tho it's so scary af.

@Kim Soo-Lee Despite being angry I'm more like scared. I'm happy they get more popular but this is scary af. At least do something about it. How come they let fans run and pushing like that? Urgh. This can be a dangerous situation for both side, the artist and the fans.

This made me LOL. A new way to escape from fans :w00t:

MOD EDIT: DO NOT QUOTE IMAGES, GIFS, AND VIDEOS!!

This is what Kpop idols use in Malaysia to get away from fans xD but really, the boys need to ride this or use any secret passages instead. They looked very tired day by day, especially JY today looks very obvious that he needs a good long rest

Haaa, you meant to tell me am not so good in fangirling? I made so many long essays on why I am attracted to this series just to get me below the gutter. Fandom is a hard job, and am not sure am fit for the job for a long term. I might travel soon just to be back as a 'normal' fangirl lurking in. Will be waiting for your comment.

This is also the thing that I enjoy. I have to admit that for me GH might seems dominant, and he is, but the real power in the relationship is in BLY. That big tiger will do anything for him and he knows it. I enjoy their interactions and their relationship's growth.

I am so sad looking at both boys airport pictures for today. Guys, give them a meter or two, for their personal space. They need to breath as well.

Yep.

It is kind of ironic. We love them partly because of their bond but because of our attention to them, they have to watch themselves not too overly friendly and thus, we can no longer observe the bond that we love so. Maybe this is still an ongoing process and will reach an equilibrium somehow. Meanwhile, I keep my hope for JY and ZZ to be strong, happy and cherish their bond.

Chapter about rape (chap. 127) already been translated, you can read it here

Thank you so much for all efforts to ease access to translation. I notice that the translator's pseudo is "Proustian". I want to recall him of my suspicion that for sure, CJD is a fervent reader of A la recherche.

I can't even watch it at all. Every airport video is so uncomfortable to watch, I just cringe so hard. So I just don't.

Maybe it's because here in Sweden, we're almost ridiculously distant towards celebrities. I think a lot of people who come here, feel they can walk around freely, without being disturbed by anyone. We look, but we won't disturb, unless you feel it's perfectly appropriate (I speak in very general terms here, it's of course never always true). So this kind of intrusion these guys are subjected to, is so very foreign to me. The worst one for me, is the one where JY & ZZ are in an elevator... I can't understand how you can just press up your camera to someone you're not even talking to. Like they're animals in a zoo.

I just hope they don't feel the same as I do, but that they are more accustomed to the culture of this kind of lack of privacy. Regardless how much they appreciate their fans and how important it is to have fans at all, it must be uncomfortable, though.

You're right. It's scary and dangerous. His management team and the airport security should be handling the fans and clearly they didn't on this occasion.
