Today's episode was a long overdue transition on various ends. On the political end, Taejo's demise finally came which set all the players off laying all the chess pieces to checkmate the opponent. Wang Wook in that regard truly excelled laying all the pieces to ensure a win win situation for himself no matter who won, giving info about Wang Yo's plot to the crown prince and participated in the coup with Wang Yo thus even making people like Wang Yo and Yeon Hwa look like hot headed and short-sighted amateurs.

The king's mission for Hae Soo to find the crown Prince was in itself quite useless but was a very useful plot mechanism to firstly get Hae Soo to be very vigilant about people's motives and stop being overly trusting thus allowing her to see Wang Wook for the person he is: manipulative and willing to make use of her to achieve his ends and abandon her when needed and always using her as a pretext for his actions but never fully trusting of her. It also allowed a smooth transition to Wang So as she found herself to be trusting of him in such a critical situation while also making use of Baek An and Woo Hee to get the Crown Prince thereby allowing them to bond as well.

On the emotional front, the political transition which included the chase of Wang Yo also gave further example of the differing personalities with Wang Wook being very cold-blooded while Wang So did the job only to be very upset after that thus allowing Hae Soo to further bond with him. 

With the Crown Prince becoming king and Wang Yo launching a coup as early as the next episode, it is interesting to see what will actually get Wang So to marry Yeon Hwa since at the current stage, there seems to be no necessity to do so unless it becomes a case of Wang So wanting to combine forces and her clan to overthrow Wang Yo as king. Even then, with Wang Wook seemingly being aligned with Wang Yo, that seems unlikely unless he gets killed.

PS: People falling off cliffs or into the sea in dramas somehow never die, getting rescued instead, thus I knew that Wang Yo will survive falling off the cliff and the preview immediately confirmed that.

Most irrelevant comment ever, but it seems Yo's hair supplanted his eyeliner in thickening as the plot does   Guess some of the actors really hated their stylists...

Thanks for the recap!!! But I feel so sad to see So is asked to marry King Mo's Niece.

Nonetheless, our ship finally sail! I think that why one of So's synopsis put that when he put a new king on top and it stop him from having So, he ended up being the king. I predict he will run away from palace with 13th and his lover and hopefully Soo before come back with general to get the throne. The marriage with King Mo's daughter and YH will confirmed postponed because when he come back with 13th, his hairstyle still show him as a single man.

Because this is a drama, and they need to follow the chinese version to show more conflicts between the princes

In actual history, no actual conflicts but only rumours of revolt.

GORYEO KISSES AND DATES ON THE LAKE, STARGAZING - WATCHING THE STARS THAT ONLY APPEAR IN GORYEO TOGETHER , HAE SOO ACCEPTING AND RECIPROCATING SO’S FEELINGS AND WEARING HIS HAIRPIN.

But it wouldn’t be Moon Lovers if there wouldn’t be heartbreak, or multiple of them, in store for us and the OTP. Of course, Yo’s survived - he is the 3rd king of Goryeo after all. The new king is dying and because So is the man he trusts the most he marries his little daughter to him (It’s the king’s order and So obvious can’T deny his dying brother’s final wish) - it’s Princess Gyeonghwagung and beside his sister, the only recorder consort Gwangjong ever had (though, he never fathered any children with her). 

Poor So and Soo, they can never catch a break. But who cares about a child, the main thing is OUR SOSOO SHIP IS FINALLY SAILING!

I AM OUT OF WORDS EXPRESSING HOW SUPERBBB KANG HA NEUL'S ACTING WAS IN THIS EPS. I WAS LIKE F$KKK WHEN HE POINTED HIS SWORD TO YO. GODDD I AM SO MAD IF THAT GUY DOESN'T GET ANY AWARD FOR HIS ROLE IN THIS DRAMA.

Yassshhh here we come!! I have patiently waiting for the battle for the throne!! Oh and anyway, I know this might sounds wrong but I'm glad that Yo didn't die (I guess we all know that he won't die that easy lol). I think he's the one (plus the mini version of him, Yeonhwa) who makes this drama even more interesting. I mean, if he really died, we only left with WW who wants to be the king and bring down CP. But WW isn't as blunt and aggresive as Yo (well, he is sly but he doesn't declare himself to be the mean one, like Yo does, so ppl won't really notice him). Oh and since CP is now the king, I think he won't let HS live a miserable life anymore, seeing her wearing a beautiful gown and properly styled hair. Btw I am curios about does WS still has the desire to sit on the throne? I mean, he's close to CP and I don't think he will betraye him and make himself a king just to win HS's heart. 

OH AND does WS found out that HS and WW was a lover? I mean, wouldn't he get suspicious by the way HS was asking him not to hurt WW and she talked about WW many times with him? If he does found out or understand that HS and WW once had something between them then I guess the story wo'n't goes like the China version where 4th Prince got angry at Rouxi when he found out that she had something with 8th prince then feel betrayed and expelled her from the palace.
