*** In an interview with Eric Nam on DIVE Studios‘ Daebak Show w/ Eric Nam, Taecyeon promoted his new drama series and talked about everything acting-related. Eric curiously followed up the conversation to ask about 2PM. Taecyeon explained that 2PM is in preparations for special concerts, celebrating their 15 anniversary in Korea and Japan since they made their debut on September 4, 2008. Eric was curious if 2PM will have a comeback soon. Taecyeon explained that all the members are so busy with their own activities. So, concerning the concerts, it would be a one-off situation. Taecyeon emphasized he still loves music, though. It's sooooo pleasing to the ear when you get to hear & listen to Taecyeon's speaking fluent English.   :headbang:   They talked about everything acting-related, from his first role in Cinderella’s Stepsister to watching his own K-Dramas to his dream roles. Eric asked, “I mean, you may have already done it. What is something you haven’t done yet you really want to do?”  Taecyeon explained that it had been a dream of his to play an antagonist since his former company, JYP Entertainment, would not allow him to. They wanted him to maintain a clean image. Taecyeon understands why JYP Entertainment had this strict restriction for him. In 2018, Taecyeon officially left JYP Entertainment and signed with a new agency, 51K. This opened new opportunities for him, and he could finally book his dream role. In 2021, he portrayed the main antagonist in the hit K-Drama Vincenzo, psychopath and serial killer Jang Jun Woo/Jang Han Seok. I'm happy for Taecyeon that he has been able to fulfill his dreams!

"I tend to write some stuff and release it on fan meetings and whatnot. But as for 2PM, I don’t think we’ll be able to like come up with something so sensational that we did before. It’s more like we want to keep the name going, but we don’t want to like over pressure ourselves into like you know, creating something mediocre and whatnot. So, I think we’re on a point where it’s like we just want the whole name to be protected."

— Taecyeon

*** Recently, Taecyeon guested on DIVE StudiosDaebak Show w/ Eric Nam to promote his new drama Heartbeat. So, host Eric Nam asked him many acting-related questions, including concerning his role in XO, Kitty, the spinoff of Netflix‘s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise, adapted from Jenny Han‘s novels. Taecyeon portrayed the fictional actor Ocean Park in Episode 8. His character worked with Min Ho’s (Sang Heon Lee) mom Dami on a fictional K-Drama, A Song of an Enchanted Tiger Amulet. Now,  Taecyeon who has worked in Korean and American TV, revealed what he thinks is the main difference between the two styles. Taecyeon said that it was “different” from K-Drama productions, although it was filmed in Seoul. Taecyeon explained that the formats are different, affecting the filming style. So, a lot of American TV series, primarily on streaming services, are 8-10 episodes and are released all at once for easy binge-watching. On the other hand, K-Dramas are, on average, 16 episodes and release a couple of episodes weekly, and they can start airing while filming for future episodes still is taking place. American television is usually filmed in advance, sometimes a year or more before it gets released. Taecyeon went viral for his surprise role in XO, Kitty.   :Twerkdatbutt:   Also, during the episode, Eric Nam asked him about some iconic viral stories about himself. One story that he asked Taecyeon to fact-check occurred a decade ago, which allegedly, Taecyeon “struck” a Yonsei University student with a cheering stick because she asked him for a picture. Taecyeon explained that it was like an inflatable balloon or soft foam stick. These can be used at events to cheer, making noise when two are clapped together. He revealed that he attended a competition as a Korea University graduate in 2013. Yonsei University and his school have a rivalry. After the event, the students go party. So, Taecyeon went out to drink, where he ran into Yonsei students. Yonsei students … were all wearing blue;  while they'rer all wearing red. When Korea University and Yonsei University students ran into each other, they maintained the friendly competition by yelling out stuff at each other. In this spirit, Taecyeon retorted, “No,” and teasingly pushed a Yonsei University student away with his cheering stick when they approached him for a fan photo. It was all in good fun!   :kisslevel:

Dream-High-Friends.jpg

Wealthy teen Go Hye Mi (Suzy) gives up on her classical music dreams when her father goes bankrupt. In order to pay back his debt, she enters a performing arts school to make an eventual mainstream music debut. The school is full of young entertainment hopefuls learning to dance and sing. While Go Hye Mi attends the school, she meets new friends like shy songstress Kim Pil Sook (IU) and gets caught in a love triangle between a politician’s son Hyun Shi Hyuk (2PM’s Taecyeon) and a country boy named Song Sam Dong (Kim Soo Hyun).

12 Idols Who Are Also Excellent Actors

From stage to screen, many idol-turned-actors have proved that they are indeed wholesome entertainers in every sense of the word. They have ruled the charts and hearts. Pushing the boundaries when it comes to their craft, they have constantly reinvented themselves when it comes to their projects. Here’s a look at 12 idols who have proven that they are natural born actors as well.

Taecyeon

Taecyeon-2.jpg

Confident is the word that comes to mind when one observes Taecyeon. His growth as a full-fledged rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur has been impressive. As a member of 2PM, Taecyeon was the perfect fit as the rebellious yet talented and self-reliant Jin Guk in “Dream High.” From playing the rookie hot-headed cop in “Who Are You,” or the exorcist who has the unique ability to see ghosts in “Bring it on Ghost,” he also made a lasting if not menacing impression as the dangerous and psychotic Jang Joon Woo in “Vincenzo.” As the cold-blooded and corrupt head of a conglomerate, Taecyeon aced the role of his villainous avatar as well as showcased his acting versatility.

Taecyeon also played a man who can predict someone’s time of death in “The Game: Towards Zero,” and he was a delightful public service officer who wants to open a dumpling shop in “Secret Royal Inspector & Joy,” which was followed by the intense mystery crime thriller “Blind.” In his recent show “Heartbeat,” he is doubly funny and romantic as the vampire waiting to turn human. What strikes one about Taecyeon is his easy approach towards his craft—it is unhurried and relaxed, and as he moulds himself into the narrative, it’s obvious he is having fun.

*** It's good that Taecyeon will have an Asia Tour soon. Local fans are paying attention to this FM because it is his 1st Asian fan meeting since his debut. Please correct me here @TheaN if I'm wrong. It's said that he participated in the planning stage of this FM and he created the title "SpecialTY" himself. It only shows that he's being fully-prepared for the meeting with his long-awaited global fans. It's indeed a good fan-service!   :cutekitty:

KBS 2TV’s “Heartbeat” has shared a sneak peek of a tense encounter between 2PM’s Taecyeon, Won Ji An, and Yoon So Hee!

“Heartbeat” is a fantasy romance drama starring Taecyeon as Seon Woo Hyul, who is half-human and half-vampire. Although he desperately wants to become human, he misses his chance because of one fateful day out of 100 years. He eventually winds up moving in together with Joo In Hae (Won Ji An), a cold-blooded woman who lacks humanity despite being fully human.

Spoilers

Previously on “Heartbeat,” Joo In Hae finally opened her guesthouse after receiving help from both Shin Do Shik (Park Kang Hyun) and Na Hae Won (Yoon So Hee). Meanwhile, Na Hae Won became increasingly intrigued by the unique Seon Woo Hyul, and she even gifted him with a car and a painting as she boldly pursued him.

However, Seon Woo Hyul found himself torn between Na Hae Won, who looks exactly like his first love Yoon Hae Sun, and Joo In Hae, for whom he has been developing unfamiliar feelings.

In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Hae Won will pay her first visit to the guesthouse—in which she invested—since its grand opening. In Hae greets her warmly, and the two women are happily chatting away when they are unexpectedly interrupted by the arrival of Woo Hyul.

Seeing Woo Hyul and In Hae together, Hae Won looks visibly unhappy as she watches the two interact. As someone who has always needed to get everything she sets her heart on, it remains to be seen how Hae Won will react to the obvious chemistry between Woo Hyul and In Hae.
