  1. Continuation of the scenes between Hye-Joon & Jung-Ha...

    Spoiler

Jung-Ha continues telling Hye-Joon that when one is having a hard time, one pretends to act even more cheerful than usual so others won't be able to know how you are truly feeling. Hye-Joon tells Jung-Ha that she knows all about this because this is exactly what she is doing right now...

Jung-ha then tells Hye-Joon that when she gets the chance to meet him for the first time, she wants to say thank you to him...

Flashback of the past of Jung-Ha receiving a text message from her mom reminding her to get her baby brother a birthday present since she is his older sister and they are celebrating his birthday on Saturday...

(I'm not even sure if Jung-Ha mom remembers her birthday but she wants Jung-Ha to keep in mind her younger sibling's birthday and get a present for him).

Jung-Ha only feels more comforted when she watches Hye-Joon's interview where he has mentioned that his dad is a carpenter and that he doesn't come from a well-to-do family even though his family lives in Hannam-dong. He adds that he comes from an ordinary family so fighting and reconciling has become a common part of their family.

Jung-ha tells Hye-Joon that she likes it that they are of the same age and adds that she first started off being his fan because of his good looks but later on, she began to empathise with him so fangirling over Hye-Joon has been something that is very healing and therapeutic for her.

Hye-Joon tells Jung-ha that he feels she is talking about someone else and not him.

Jung-Ha then clarifies that it isn't him. It's just a fantasy that she has created of him.

Hye-Joon thanks Jung-ha too and tells her that he is glad that he is able to help her in some way.

Jung-ha tells Hye-Joon that she has always believed that fans and stars should not be involved in real-life relationships. She adds that they have also forged a bond of friendship out all these relationships...

She continues telling Hye-Joon that she will stop her fangirling over him...and that she won't do it anymore...(Hehe...that's because she would like to be in a real-life relationship with Hye-Joon so she can't continue being his fan anymore)...

Hye-Joon then jests along with her saying that he has lost another fan when he doesn't have many fans to start off with...

Jung-Ha then remarks that there must be many girls following Hye-joon around. Hye-Joon tells her that even if they were to follow him around, they may not be his fans...With just looks alone, it's not easy to get your fans to continue to stay on with you...

Jung-ha then comments that so Hye-Joon knows that he is good-looking...Hye-Joon then shares with her that there was a time when he doesn't like his looks very much...

Flashback of the past when Hye-joon's dad tells him to get a part-time job now that his exams are over. Hye-Joon tells his dad that he is likely to look for a part-time modelling job so his dad reminds him that he shouldn't idle his time away just because he is born with good looks...and continues saying that he shouldn't think that he can do anything he desires just because he is getting paid for just walking a few steps...

(Argh...can't imagine a dad making such a catty comment and he obviously favours his older brother more as he has bought a pair of new shoes for him).

Jung-ha asks if his dad is handsome so Hye-Joon shares with her that he is cute in a way but he is rather short.

Jung-ha then adds on saying that Hye-Joon takes after his grandpa then...

He also adds that he resembles his mom too...

Jung-ha derives her own conclusion saying that his dad is not a very handsome man and that he is rather short but his mom on the other hand, is beautiful and grandpa is a handsome man too...

Hye-Joon remarks that she is really an amusing girl...

Jung-Ha tells Hye-Joon that his dad must be having a hard time too...because he refuses to see Hye-joon's handsome face just because he himself is not a handsome man. And she asks Hye-Joon if his dad looks ugly. Hye-Joon then shakes his head saying that he hates his dad lately...but after hearing her description of him, he may start to like him...

Jung-ha then starts giggling to herself and saying that there is something she hasn't told him yet...and she reveals that she has the tendency to rattle on when she gets drunk...she assures Hye-joon that it is nothing serious and that she will just act and behave differently for the first 30 minutes. So Hye-joon is curious and asks how different her behaviour will be like...

  2. More scenes of Hye-Joon and Jung-Ha...

    Spoiler

Jung-Ha goes to meets Hye-Joon and the latter remarks that she seems to be carrying many bags with her. Jung-Ha asks Hye-Joon what he is watching on his phone so the latter shares that he is watching the highlights of a soccer match as his manager feels that he is not being ambitious enough... cos his manager says that if here to watch the highlights of the match, it will keep his adrenaline going strong. He will also learn to become more competitive. Jung-Ha tells Hye-Joon that she likes men who aren't ambitious so Hye-

Joon teases her and says that he knows because she likes him. Hye-Joon then adds on and says that it is alright. So Jung-ha asks even if she has lied to him so the latter assures her that is fine and asks when did she become his fan. Jung-Ha then exclaims and remarks about the arrogant look on Hye-Joon's face as he asks her this question. She then continues saying that she should have just lived in her fantasy instead of meeting him.

Hye-Joon asks Jung-Ha if she is feeling disappointed after she has met him so the latter tells him no as she adds on that she has always been a great judge of people's character. Hye-Joon then starts to tease Jung-ha that she appears to be boasting now. Jung-Ha then corrects Hye-Joon saying that she is merely complimenting herself because out of so many celebrities out there, she has chosen him. And she continues saying that now that she has met Hye-Joon in person, she has come to realise that he is really a great guy!

Hye-Joon then questions Jung-Ha asking her how can she be so sure that he is a good guy when she has only just met him. Jung-Ha then asks him in return if Hye-Joon feels that he is a bad guy then...Hye-Joon then smiles at Jung-Ha and reassures her saying that he is a good guy. Jung-Ha is happy to hear his words and she tells him that she is right on then since her mom has once shared with her that men who call themselves the bad guys are in fact, the real bad guys. They can lie about almost everything except that...Hye-Joon then remarks that Jung-ha's mom is unlikely to meet up with such bad guys having already known who they are. Jung-Ha then corrects him saying that it's precisely because her mom has met so many bad guys in her life so she knows all about them...

Jung-Ha then says that she is hungry so Hye-Joon asks her what she wants to eat. Jung-Ha then shares that she hardly eats out. Hye-Joon then gets up and tells Jung-Ha, "Let's go now." Jung-Ha asks where they are heading for so Hye-Joon tells Jung-Ha they are heading for her place since she hardly eats out. Jung-Ha then asks Hye-Joon why should they go her house when she may want to go to his house instead...

Hye-Joon then asks Jung-ha as a matter-of-fact, "Then, shall we go to my house instead?"

Jung-Ha then keeps mum as she continues to look on at him.

They then proceed to an eatery to eat Rabboki (ramen + tteokbokki)...

Jung-Ha then holds her hands up high with her palms facing upwards...and motions to Hye-Joon to give her some food so Hye-Joon asks what she is doing. She then jests and says, "Thank you, your Majesty..."

Hye-Joon teases her in return and says that she has carried her jokes too far...

Jung-Ha then tells Hye-Joon that she has always wanted to say something like this...Now that she has said it, she feels quite at comfortable with it.

Hye-Joon then tells her that he shouldn't have asked her that question if she is his fan...

Jung-Ha then tells Hye-Joon that though she doesn't have very strong values, she doesn't want to be a liar...

Because she has lied to him the first time when they met so she is feeling very stifled about it...

Hye-Joon then tells Jung-ha to tuck in and eat the food...as he continues smiling on...

Jung-Ha remarks that the food is really good and that tteokbokki is like comfort food to her (hehe...just like spicy food for me)....

She starts coughing as she has accidentally choked on the food so a worried-looking Hye-Joon hastily pat her on her back...

Jung-ha asks Hye-Joon why he patting her on her back...

Hye-Joon asks Jung-Ha, "That's not the correct way to do it?"

Then he quickly tells her to drink some water instead...

Jung-Ha asks Hye-Joon why he is looking on at her with those eyes of his...

Jung-Ha asks, "What's with that look and your eyes?"

Hye-joon replies, "What about my eyes?"

Jung-ha says, "They are too sweet-looking..." (implying his facial expression as Hye-Joon still has this worried look on his face).

Hye-joon tells Jung-Ha that he is just looking at her...

Jung-Ha then tells Hye-Joon that that;s really good for him cos he can just look at people in their eyes and he is able to win their hearts...

Hye-Joon remarks that Jung-Ha seems really hyped and excited saying these words so the latter teases him that since she has lied to him, now she has to deal with the aftermath of it...

Jung-Ha tells Hye-Joon that he can't possibly envisage how much she wants to meet him as there are so many things that she wants to tell him.

Hye-Joon adds that she can tell him everything today so Jung-ha says that it isn't easy when she is still sober.

Jung-Ha is trying to make a bomb shot and tells Hye-Joon that the proportion of mixing the drinks is very important. She is already kinda drunk as she tells Hye-Joon that people often tell her that she can make the best bomb shot. Hye-Joon then tells Jung-ha that this is the second time she has told him about it and asks if she is drunk already.

Jung-Ha then asks Hye-Joon how can he have such a name too so causing the latter to lament as he says that he doesn't know what he should do with her...

Jung-Ha tells Hye-Joon that when he doesn't know what he should do, then he shouldn't do anything at all...

Jung-Ha asks how come Hye-Joon isn't drinking so the latter tells her that one of them needs to stay sober just case if anything happens to them and he will need to prepare himself for them.

Jung-ha then tells Hye-Joon that nothing will happen to them...

Jung-Ha then says that Hye-Joon seems to be making more complications in his life...

She lifts up his glass and tells him that she will drink more on his behalf then so Hye-Joon says that the drink belongs to him. Jung-Ha then reminds him saying that he has mentioned earlier that he won't be drinking...

Hye-Joon then tells her that even if he doesn't want to drink, the glass of bomb shot still belongs to him and he doesn't like to lose out on his things...

Jung-ha reminds him that he isn't losing it but he is merely giving his drink to her instead.

Jung-ha then laments that Hye-Joon may not think very much of her mixing the drinks earlier but she wants to remind him that mixing drinks together is really hard work.

Hearing her words, Hye-Joon then hands over his drink to her...

Jung-Ha tells Hye-Joon that she has never heard of a Sa except this Lady Sa from the book and asks Hye-Joon if he knows about this book.

Hye-Joon then simply replies, Soap Opera of Joseon Dynasty.

Jung-Ha then exclaims that Hye-Joon is really smart to be able to figure that one out too...and she adds on saying that isn't it unfair to have both good looks and the brains too...

As she is starting to raise her voice so Hye-Joon asks Jung-ha if she is going to continue doing this...

Jung-Ha just keeps repeating Hye-Joon's name saying, "Sa Hye-Joon..."

She continues saying that she will forgive Sa Hye-Joon...She starts getting up and tells him that she will forgive all his sins by doing the Catholic gesture of using her right hand to touch his forehead, then the left shoulder and followed by the right shoulder.

  3. Flashback of the scene of how Hye-Jun parted ways with his ex-girlfriend...

    Spoiler

His ex-girlfriend lied to him that she needs to stay back in the library to study when in fact, she is on her way out to meet another guy. This is when she sees Hye-Joon and realises that she has been caught in the act so she asks Hye-Joon why is it he didn't come up to her so the latter says that he wants to her the same thing too. Hye-Joon adds on that she is a smart lady who has planned this show for him to watch so that she can break up with him. He continues saying that she has planned all these for him to see her in the act and then he would head home to deal with the pain by himself. It seems like this is most probably the second time his ex-girlfriend is doing such a thing to him again so he said that he won't be fooled by here again. His ex tries to tell Hye-joon not to doubt her love for him but Hye-Joon dismisses her by telling her firmly that he will only remember those moments that he has loved her and there won't be anything more to it.

Hae-Hyo tells his mom that he only likes An Jung-Ha as a make-up artist only but his mom reminds him that if he continues being so insistent that Jung-Ha is the only one who can attend to him to do his make-up, he is likely to invite unwanted gossip about him and reminds Hae-Hyo that he is at an age when they likes to seek for thrills and engage themselves into doing dangerous things.

Jin-Ju from the salon calls Jung-Ha and tells her that she needs to attend a staff training session afterwards even though the latter tries to tell her it's her day off. Jin-Ju also tells Jung-Ha that Hae-Hyo has especially requested for her services so she needs to be back at the salon. Her senior is obviously abusing her position as a senior make-up stylist and trying to exert over Jung-Ha using her seniority.

  4. First scene of Hye-Joon & Jung-Ha...

    Spoiler

Jung-ha is in her house when she thinks back on why Hye-joon has texted her. She wondered if it's because he is disappointed since she has lied to him about being Hae-Hyo's fan when in actual fact, she is Hye-Joon's fan or is he troubled by the fact that she happens to like him. Then Jung-Ha realises that she should resolve her own problem. She whips out her phone and mutters to herself saying that she has done him wrong by lying to him but she adds on that she did tell him the truth though. Jung-Ha feels that she has already done her part so now it's entirely up to Hye-joon. She starts muttering about Hye-Joon being rude. This is when she receives a call from Hye-Joon himself...

Hye-joon asks if Jung-Ha has been exercising as she seems out of breath but the latter says that she isn't and that she is just about to leave home to go busking on the streets...Hey-Joon then asks Jung-Ha if she has any plans thereafter of which the latter says she doesn't. Hye-Joon merely tells Jung-Ha that he gets her message and tells her that since he knows that she is free then he can ask her to meet up with him.

Jung-Ha tells Hye-Joon that he should ask her about it first so Hye-Joon explains that he doesn't want to make it sound so frank and direct to the point. Jung-Ha then tells Hye-Joon that she even though that may seem kinda abrupt, she doesn't mind at all even if he were to come off as being forthright...

Hye-Joon then tells Jung-Ha that there is something they would need to sort out...and asks out of concern if it's okay for them to chat right now. Jung-Ha then realises that time is running as she needs to get going too. She starts asks Hye-Joon if Grandpa has found a job.

Other scenes involving Hye-Joon's family and his interaction with Min-Jae...

    Spoiler

Hye-Joon tells his parents that he wants to accept a role in the movie so this infuriates his dad who starts to throw a bag of meat at Hye-Joon. Hye-Joon pleads with his dad to let him do what he wants and Hye-Joon's mom is really angry with his dad and tells Hye-Joon to leave as she wants to talk to him. She lashes out at him if Hye-Joon's dad doesn't believe in his son, then who else will believe in their son. Hye-Joon's dad gets indignant and says that since Hye-Joon is a man, he will need to learn to provide for his family. She starts rationalising out with him that there is no such thing that the males will have to provide for their family because she is also earning her own keep. She tells his dad that she wants Hye-Joon to be able to choose his own path to walk on and do what he likes. She reminds Hye's Joon that he has been working hard throughout his life just to earn money so she wants them to give Hye-Joon the space to breathe and do the things which he likes to do. She adds on saying that she may have to end up doing a manual job throughout her whole life until the day she passes on, hence, she wants her children to have a much better life than hers.

She remarks that life rarely goes the way we want it to be but we must dare to dream so she doesn't want Hye-Joon's dad to be the one to shut down his dreams and prevents him from chasing his dreams. Dad reminds mom that life is all about having the right timing so he hopes that she won't habour any regrets thereafter...

Hye-Joon tells Min-Jae that he'll accept her proposal of an offer for a role in a movie. While Hye-Joon offers to carry her thrash bags for her, MIn-Jae takes the bags from him and tells him that he can't get a movie actor to carry her thrash bags for her. I like what she says that others won't be able to treat Hye-Joon well if she doesn't start off by treating him well in the first place.

Hye-Joon has signed up a membership package for Grandpa to undergo training as a senior model. Grandpa asks Hye-Joon who will want to hire him to be a model so Hye-Joon tells grandpa that right now, there is a blue ocean market for the elderly folks. He tells Grandpa that he can also make use of this chance to get to know others and at the same time, exercise too.

  5. A big welcome to the Happy ROY thread, @Firefly, @tulip06, @Yasemin Salturdóttir wherein we're all gathered here to spread lots of positive vibes because of our love for the drama, its leading and supporting cast! :fullofhearts:

Hi @gumtaek! Thanks for posting the Soompi article on ROY attaining its personal best in terms of viewership. Since the article has also mentioned about the drama, Do You Like Brahms recording its personal best for its ratings, naturally people are likely to make comparison between the two dramas which is all fine by me as everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

What I cannot comprehend is why people would comment that this is a boring drama and that the drama owes its success to Park Bo-Gum. I feel it could be largely due to the fact that such slice of life drama may not appeal to everyone. The reasons are because it is probably missing much of the thrilling, intense, dramatic and compelling scenes for which some viewers may be looking for. A drama cannot simply just owe its success based on one actor alone. There are many accompanying factors involved for instance, whether the drama has a good and solid story plot which is able to appeal to the masses and it is also largely dependent on whether the leads and their supporting cast are able to put up remarkable performances of the roles they are portraying and be completely immersed in playing out their characters exceedingly well so that the viewers are able to relate with the different characters  in the drama. I  strongly feel the above are the reasons why the drama, ROY has been proven to be a success so far.

We all know Park Bo Gum is definitely the best fit to play the role of Sa Hye-Joon because he is a highly talented young actor with an impressive repertoire of acting skills so i can't envisage anyone else playing that role. Just like I can't picture An Jung-Ha being played by another actress other than Park So Dam. Her wide spectrum of acting skills and her versatility has enabled her to get into her character almost effortlessly as if she is making the character, Jung-Ha come alive. I feel Park So Dam has this innate ability to do that just like Park Bo Gum. Kudos also to the veteran supporting cast especially, Ha Jin-Hee who plays the role of Hye-Joon's endearing grandpa and Ha Hee-Ra who is playing the role of his loving mom. Both the actors have also portrayed their characters extremely well which makes us feel they really seem like such a close-knitted family because of the bonding they have forged while filming their scenes together.

All in all, I can't wait to see how the plot of the drama will unfold. Thanks to Record of Youth and our Park-Park Couple which has once again renewed my passion in doing transcap for the drama and joining all of you here in our animated discussions of the drama and our main leads too. :wow1:

Hye-Joon asks Jung-Ha what this wonderful job opportunity is all about...

Jung-Ha remarks that he is being too impatient...

She accidentally clicks on a video clip she has taken of Hye-Joon when he walking on the runway and quickly says that this isn't the one she wants to show him...

She then clicks on her other images and Hye-Joon's photos pops up on her laptop screen causing her to feel rather embarrassed as she remarks why his photos would pop up out of the blue.

Hye-Joon has an amused smile on his face.

She finally finds the correct video clip that she has taken of a senior model doing his catwalk on the runway.

Hye-Joon asks what about this video clip...

Jung-Ha proposes that since Grandpa's dream is to be a celebrity so she feels this is the best way for him to try to attain his dream at his age. Hye-Joon tells Jung-Ha that he is only trying to help his grandpa to look for a part-time job and that he is not helping him to realise his dream because he is already 71 years old now.

Jung-Ha retorts that there are many senior models who are in their eighties and yet they are still very active...

She adds that having good looks like his grandfather is a positive attribute in itself already...

Hye-Joon then tells Jung-Ha that this won't do at all so Jung-Ha reminds Hye-Joon that he hasn't even tried to speak to his grandpa regarding this yet...

She tells him that he shouldn't be the one to turn down this job opportunity...

Hye-Joon then remarks that she is amusing...

So Jung-Ha adds that no one has said that about her before...so she will take it to be a compliment...

Hye-Joon then comments that when she is angry, she can really remain so calm...

Jung-Ha tells him that she does understand that he does not really like her proposal...but adds that he shouldn't consider her idea as being absurd or ludicrous...

Hye-Joon adds that he has seen many senior models before but he has never thought that his grandpa could also become one of them...

Jung-Ha adds that maybe it's because he is his grandpa so he cannot visualise his own grandpa being a model...

Hye-Joon asks why she should make that comment...

Jung ha then rationalises that people do change and that he may not remember them for who they are. Jung Ha tries to convince Hye-Joon saying that since he has mentioned that he wants the best for his grandpa but the truth it, he doesn't feel that his grandpa is able to make a mark. Hye-Joon reminds her not to cross the line so she tells him that the line has been crossed already...

Hye-Joon still feels that this won't work and Jung-Ha corrects him that he seems half-convinced already...

Hye-Joon then takes his leave and tells Jung-Ha that he needs to take care of some matters first and asks her what time she ends work.

Continuation of the final scene between the two main leads...

    Spoiler

Hye-Joon goes to look for Jung-ha at the salon and asks if she is done with her work. Jung-Ha remarks that he doesn't even give her a call before he comes over...

Hye-Joon says is because he wants to do something at the salon...

He asks Jung-Ha if she can cut his hair with the hair clipper...

Jung-ha teases him and asks him if he wants to go back to being a 7 year old boy again...

Hey-joon simply tells her that he will be joining the military...

Jung-Ha asks him when he is going in so he replies in 10 days' time.

Jung-Ha asks Hye-Joon then why is he cutting his hair off today...

Then Hye-Joon states that it's because if doesn't do that, he will have this desire of wanting to stay behind...

Jung-ha then tells him that it seems like he is leaving for good...

She asks him if they have shortened the military service term now.

Hye-Joon then retorts that it's all too easy for her to say something like this...

Jung-ha readily agrees that of course it is...

Jung-ha asks Hye-Joon why does he want to cut off his hair before the date of his enlistment...and adds that having this buzz cut will only serve to remind him that the enlistment date is drawing closer...

Hye-Joon remarks that she is really making her stand known now...

Jung-ha adds that she is a quick learner...

Hye-Joon then adds that Jung-Ha is also good at praising herself...

Jung-Ha says that she is merely stating a fact and that is all...

She tells him that he should leave now as Su-bin is still at the salon....

Hye-Joon gets up and questions Jung-ha if she is really Hae-Hyo's fan so Jung-Ha readily agrees that she is. Hye-joon then reminds her that he hates liars just so that she knows about this...

He starts counting down from 3 to 1 as he makes his way out...

Jung-Ha then quickly says aloud, "Yes, alright! ! I'm your fan!

Hey-Joon then smiles to himself as this is the answer he's been wanting to hear from her...

  7. Continuation of the scene between Hye-Joon & Jung-Ha...

    Spoiler

Jung-Ha remarks that it is raining...and she adds that she hates it when it rains...

Hye-Joon tells her to wait for him and he soon returns holding an umbrella in his hand.

Jung-Ha shows Hye-joon her phone that the weather forecast says that it wouldn't rain today..

Hye-Joon says that it is raining now so she will need to have an umbrella.

Jung-Ha asks what about Hye-Joon then since they only have one umbrella so Hye-Joon tells Jung-Ha that he can just take a bus here.

And he adds that it's not raining in his neighbourhood.

Hye-Joon opens up the umbrella and asks if Jung-Ha is going to continue standing there...

As Jung-Ha seems to be keeping a distance between them, Hye-Joon pulls her in to seek shelter under the umbrella and tells her that she's getting rained on so she replies in return that if it wasn't for her, he wouldn't get rained on too...

Hye-Joon then tells Jung-Ha that's the reason why he has bought the umbrella in the first place...

Jung-Ha then adds that he is a sweet talker...and asks Hye-Joon if he has dated many people...

Hye-Joon then replies that no, he hasn't as he prefers to have longer and more serious relationships...

He adds that he has only been in two relationships and both are with the same girl...

Jung-Ha then tells Hye-Joon that he seems keen to tell her everything when she didn't even ask him to do so...

This is when Hye-Joon asks Jung-Ha if she has ever dated before so the latter retorts that of course she has!

Hye-Joon then remarks that since she seem to have made such a strong response, it's like she is confirming that (she has never dated before)...

Jung-Ha tries to explain herself and says that she has been in many short relationships and they don't really last as she tends to get bored easily...

Hye-Joon asks if it's because of she is afraid of getting herself hurt...

Jung-Ha is forced to agree with him on this that she can't deny this is partly the truth too...

She remarks that she can't believe that they would talk about such a topic...

Hye-Joon tells Jung-Ha that he feels comfortable being with her...

Jung-Ha is pleasantly surprised as she asks him, "Me?"

Hye-Joon nods his head and adds that it's because Jung-Ha speaks her mind so that's why he feels at ease with her and can let his guard down...

Hye-Joon adds that they have even talked about money which is considered a sensitive topic to many people.

Hye-Joon asks why Jung-Ha hates rainy days so the latter replies it's because she feels like she is all alone by herself...

Hye-Joon then replies that he will give her a call when it rains...and tells her that she is not alone...

Jung-Ha then adds that his words are causing her to have goosebumps and that they are mushy...

She runs away and tells him that she can't stay on to listen to him anymore...

At the bus stop...Hye-Joon tells Jung-Ha that he is always rational...so Jung-Ha asks him don't good actors always think about how they are going to best express their emotions first...so maybe that's why your acting is....

Hye-Joon then tells Jung-Ha that he won't let it slide...

Jung-Ha thought that Hye-Joon was upset with her words so she quickly apologises and tells him that she doesn't know much about acting...

Hye-Joon then removes his scarf tied around his neck and ties it around Jung-Ha's neck. He tells Jung-Ha that it will still help (to protect her from the cold chills) even if it's small....

Hye-Joon asks Jung-ha if he should cover her face with it so the latter tells him that she would tie it herself instead...

Hye-Joon then boards the bus then tells her to leave first as he wants to see her go first...

When Jung-Ha see's Grandpa's pics, she remarks that he can pass off as an actor and asks Hye-Joon why didn't he become an actor so Hye-Joon replies that he (Grandpa) has been cheated too many times so he couldn't make it to becoming an actor as he is far too trusting. Jung-Ha then adds that trusting in others is a good thing. So it those who attempt to swindle others are the bad people.

Hye-Joon then remarks that she is quite good at reprimanding others...

Hye-Joon says that Grandpa wants to look for a job and asks Jung-Ha for her opinion if it's possible for his grandpa to find one. Jung-Ha reminds Hye-joon that he won't be able to find anything if he feels it's impossible to realise it. Hye-Joon agrees readily with Jung-Ha and adds that she has made a good point there.

  12. The month of September has been an exciting and memorable period for me thus far whereby I was once again brought back to Kdramaland and being able to renew my passion in dramas again.

Due to my busy schedule at work and being caught up with the ongoing events in my personal life, I can't really recall how many dramas for which I have watched only the first few episodes and finding myself dropping the dramas due to time constraints. As time passes by, subsequently, I have kinda forgotten about these dramas too. Maybe it's also largely due to the fact I couldn't sustain my interest nor passion to want to continue watching these dramas from its start till its end.

Lately, I find myself hooked onto two dramas, namely, ROY which just premiered on 7th Sep and the family drama, Once Again. In a large way, both are such heartwarming and beautiful slice of life drama with their fair share of romantic and lighthearted moments, yet also coupled with a couple of intense scenes too evoking the mixed emotions of the viewers.

All these have allowed us to delve on the ongoing events and experiences in our lives which we may have forgotten or have neglected due to our busyness. There are valuable lessons for which we have learnt and also be reminded of the people whom we hold close to our hearts and the things which matter the most to us.

All in all, I can't wait to see how the story would unfold in the dramas. If time permits, I would also love to share my thoughts and insights about them while being engaged in animated discussions about the shows in the forum. :fullofhearts:

  13. Sharing my thoughts...

As I have mentioned earlier, upon the release of the character chart for ROY, I'm glad and heartened to know that there won't be a love triangle occurring among the 3 main leads. I feel that love triangles are often overly used and frequently played out in Kdramas  with the oh-so-familiar feelings of jealously, rivalry, angst, heartache and pain resulting from unrequited love wherein we can see friends becoming rivals and acquaintances turning out to be enemies who are constantly engaged in their own world of back-stabbing, schemes and downright malice in their attempt to capture the hearts of their so-called loved ones. Many a time, love triangles can make a drama appear to be cliche to the point of losing its originality.

It's definitely refreshing to see a drama which will not be delving on such love-entanglements. But rather, focusing on the realistic world as we can see how true-to-life the characters are as each is faced with their own problems and troubles. In spite of the difficulties which they encounter, they choose not to succumb under their misfortunes and impoverished circumstances. Neither will they be given in to temptation or pressure into doing something which is against their will. Being caught in between facing the reality and doing something practical to pay the bills or pursuing your passions in spite of all the odds and obstacles which you are likely to face from your loved ones in chasing your dreams. Hence, the reason why Hye-Joon sees dreams as a luxury for him to even harbour in the first place.

Often enough, we see ourselves being compared to our peers and trying our best to live up to others' expectations of us including our loved ones. That we fail to see or rather be blinded to what is more important to us and all that we may hold close to our hearts. Choosing not to follow the norm but rather dare to do something different but is what we have always desired even if it's the path which is less travelled on.

P.S. A warm welcome to the ROY thread, @kehrite! Do drop by and spazz with us about the drama!  Hehe... @gumtaek, I'm definitely looking forward to reading your wonderful insights too! :fullofhearts:
