SBS’s upcoming drama “Flex x Cop” has dropped new posters!

“Flex x Cop” is about immature third-generation chaebol Jin Yi Soo (Ahn Bo Hyun) who becomes a detective due to his privileged background and Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun), a workaholic veteran detective who is also the first female team leader in the Homicide Department.

The newly released character posters feature Jin Yi Soo and Lee Kang Hyun all set to get on with their operations. In the dressing room behind the two, various items are arranged in an orderly manner. Among them are luxurious items such as expensive watches and sunglasses as well as dangerous weapons such as pistols and bullets, drawing viewers’ attention.

 

“Flex x Cop” is set to premiere on January 26 at 10 p.m. KST.

Ahn Bo Hyun and Kwak Si Yang will showcase heartwarming chemistry as brothers in the upcoming SBS drama “Flex x Cop”!

“Flex x Cop” is about immature third-generation chaebol Jin Yi Soo (Ahn Bo Hyun) who becomes a detective due to his privileged background and Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun), a workaholic veteran detective who is also the first female team leader in the Homicide Department.

Kwak Si Yang stars as Jin Seung Joo, Jin Yi Soo’s older brother and the vice president of Hansoo Group. Jin Seung Joo not only facilitates Jin Yi Soo’s transition into becoming a detective and joining Lee Kang Hyun’s team in the Homicide Department but is also Jin Yi Soo’s closest friend.

In the newly released stills, the two exhibit contrasting personalities despite being brothers. Jin Yi Soo appears lounging on the bed in casual sleepwear despite the bright sun, with a bandaid on his nose that subtly indicates his mischievous nature. On the contrary, Jin Seung Joo is impeccably dressed in a well-tailored suit, projecting the image of a model citizen. The polar opposite characters of these two brothers add an element of anticipation to their family dynamic and narrative.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Jin Yi-Soo (Ahn Bo-Hyun) is a 3rd generation member of a chaebol family. He has a childish personality and loves to have fun. Jin Yi-Soo becomes a detective for a police violent crimes team. He tries to wipe out criminals by using his enormous wealth, personal connections, and his brilliant intelligence. He works with Lee Gang-Hyun (Park Ji-Hyun), who leads the violent crimes team. She is a veteran detective and highly dedicated to catching criminals. She also has smooth social skills. The main poster for “Flex x Cop” has been unveiled!

“Flex x Cop” is about immature third-generation chaebol Jin Yi Soo (Ahn Bo Hyun) who becomes a detective due to his privileged background and Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun), a workaholic veteran detective who is also the first female team leader in the Homicide Department.

The newly released main poster offers a glimpse into the key characters of “Flex x Cop.” Centered around the carefree chaebol Jin Yi Soo, the poster integrates the figures of law enforcement and conglomerate members, creating an intriguing mix.

The first upper row of the poster introduces an ensemble of Team 1 from the Homicide Department, featuring team leader Lee Kang Hyun, her reliable and warm best friend Park Joon Young (Kang Sang Joon), and the team’s playful mascot and youngest member Choi Kyung Jin (Kim Shin Bi).

Park Ji Hyun Talks About How She Prepared For Her Role In Upcoming Drama “Flex X Cop”

Park Ji Hyun has revealed how she prepared for her role in SBS’s upcoming drama “Flex x Cop”!

“Flex x Cop” is a drama that depicts the growth and romance of an immature third-generation chaebol who becomes a detective. The drama will be penned by scriptwriter Kim Ba Da of “My Name” and helmed by producing director Kim Jae Hong of “Steal Heart” and “My Love Eun Dong.”

Park Ji Hyun plays Lee Kang Hyun, the Homicide Department’s first female team leader and a veteran detective who graduated from a police university. Lee Kang Hyun is a workaholic who has a strong sense of responsibility and takes pride in being a police officer, and she also has exceptional investigative and social skills, as well as a flexible mindset. However, her detective life faces a major turning point when she meets Jin Yi Soo (Ahn Bo Hyun), who unexpectedly becomes her investigative partner.

Park Ji Hyun made her acting debut in 2017 through the MBC drama “The King Loves,” and she first gained recognition as an actress through the film “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum” before rising to stardom through the 2022 drama “Reborn Rich.” Park Ji Hyun’s rapid rise as a beloved actress is attributed to her solid acting skills and her ability to bring any character to life. Many viewers may not be aware that she also starred in the dramas “Do You Like Brahms?” and “Yumi’s Cells” before “Reborn Rich.”

Explaining how she prepared for her character in “Flex x Cop,” Park Ji Hyun shared, “To be able to properly embody the character of a police officer, I gained about 7 kilograms [approximately 15.4 pounds] of weight. I also practiced various breathing and vocalization techniques because the character’s tone and manner of speech are quite different from my previous characters.”

She continued, “It was also my first time acting in an action drama, so I practiced at an action school until I got the hang of it. Although there were many challenging aspects, I put in my best effort, so I hope you will tune in.”

Ahn Bo Hyun Annoys Park Ji Hyun with His Childish Behavior in "FlexxCop" Teaser

SBS dropped a new teaser for FlexxCop, giving a sneak peek into the detective life of Jin Yi Soo (Ahn Bo Hyun). 

FlexxCop follows the story of Jin Yi Soo, an immature man from a chaebol family, who becomes a detective in the violent crime department and solves cases by exploiting the privileges that come with his wealth and status. 

 

 

The teaser commences by showing how Jin Yi Soo unexpectedly caught a murderer and became a police officer overnight using his money and connections. 

While Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun), a tough team leader in the violent crime department, dislikes the parachute detective Jin Yi Soo, there are differing opinions within the team. The youngest member of Team 1, Choi Kyung Jin (Kim Shin Bi), seems to have a welcoming attitude towards him, as he says, "It would be fun to have someone like that on our team who is powerful and rich."  

On the other hand, Jin Yi Soo flaunts his wealth by setting up a five-star-hotel-like buffet in the police station lobby.

Moreover, as he is very excited to become a police officer, he even gets himself a bling-bling nameplate and shows it off to others.

But getting a fancy officer nameplate is one thing, and carrying out the duties that come with it is another. In one scene, Jin Yi Soo unabashedly plays an online soccer game while on duty, earning the ire of Lee Kang Hyun.

Towards the end of the teaser, Jin Yi Soo boldly declares he will sincerely work to fulfill his duty to  Team Leader Lee Kang Hyun, who seems clearly annoyed by him. 

The unexpected commitment to being diligent and his tit-for-tat-like dynamics with Lee Kang Hyun pique curiosity about the trajectory Jin Yi Soo's detective life will take.

Choi Tae Joon to make a special cameo appearance in "Flex X Cop"

Choi Tae Joon will participate in the upcoming SBS K-drama Flex X Cop. 

On January 23, media outlet Star News released an exclusive report revealing actor Choi Tae Joon will return to SBS through the upcoming action mystery K-drama Flex X Cop. He will be making a special appearance in the series. 

This will be the first K-drama of Choi Tae Joon for 2024. The actor was last seen in the 2022 K-drama Island led by Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, Sung Joon, Go Doo Shim, Park Geun Hyung, and more. He made a special appearance in the series. He also participated in the K-drama Twenty-Five Twenty-One. 

Choi Tae Joon's last official K-drama project was the 2021 K-drama The Man's Voice with Song Ji Eun, Kang Byul, Seok Bo Bae, Song Young Jae, and Bang Eun Hee.

The actor is known for being part of the K-dramas So I Married an Anti-Fan, Suspicious Partner, Missing 9, All About My Mom, The Girl Who Sees Scents, and more. 

 

 

Flex X Cop will tell the story of the third-generation conglomerate named Jin Yi Soo. After getting involved in a case, he decided to join the police violence team as a detective. He will use his money and connections to his advantage.

The upcoming K-drama will be led by Ahn Bo Hyun, Park Ji Hyun, Kang Sang Jun, Kwak Shi Yang, April's Lee Na Eun, and Jung Ga Hee. 

It will be the collaboration work of director Kim Jae Hong (Revenant and Through the Darkness) and screenwriter Kim Ba Da (My Name).

Flex X Cop will begin airing on January 26 at 10 PM KST. It will be part of the Saturday and Sunday K-drama timeslot of SBS.
