On the 4th, E-Daily reported, borrowing the words of Studio Dragon CEO Kang Cheol-gu, "We are in the final stage of a contract with Netflix US to plan and develop a remake of the drama 'Crash Landing on You'." 

 

According to the report, CJ ENM is currently in the process of producing about five Netflix original works. Apple TV and Disney+ are also continuously discussing works that meet their needs. 

 

'Crash Landing on You', which aired on tvN in 2019, is the love story of Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin), an heiress of a conglomerate who crash-landed in North Korea in a paragliding accident with a gust of wind, and Ri Jeong-hyeok (Hyun Bin), a special officer who hides and protects her and falls in love with her. In addition, the love line between North Korean elite Seo Dan (Seo Ji-hye) and British businessman Koo Seung-jun (Kim Jung-hyun) was also popular and provided a sight to behold. 

 

As a result, on February 16, 2020, the final episode achieved an average of 21.7% and a maximum of 24.1%, recording the highest viewership ratings for tvN dramas.

 

In particular, 'Crash Landing on You' was released to the world through Netflix and gained great popularity, causing the 4th Hallyu boom in Japan.

 

According to Netflix, 'Crash Landing on You' maintained the top 10 in Japan for 229 days, and ranked 6th in the US for the most viewed program in the fourth week of March last year.

Meanwhile, Yooyoung of Korea, who won the bronze medal, also showed a performance in line with the collection of BTS songs that are gaining global popularity.  

Yoo Young (Korea, 203.60 points) took the bronze medal after gold medal Kaori Sakamoto (Japan, 223.34 points) and silver medal Mana Kawabe (Japan, 205.44 points). It is the first time in 12 years since Yuna Kim (retired) in November 2009, a Korean female athlete won two consecutive medals in the Senior Grand Prix Series.

If you need a one-stop-shop place to start, Netflix’s K-drama landing page is a good entry point into the category. These are all grouped the same way Netflix content on your main page is. The K-drama categories here include everything from “Soapy TV Shows” to “Popular,” “Sci-fi” and more.

Let’s start with a recent addition to Netflix’s library, one that debuted in February. I should also add the caveat: These are all K-dramas that I’ve seen. There will no doubt be some that other fans feel should be on a list like this — I just haven’t gotten around to them yet. This is my completely subjective ranking for right now, so keep that in mind.

 

Crash Landing on You

Crash Landing on You gets my vote for the #1, absolutely best Korean drama on Netflix.

The plot: A filthy rich South Korean heiress goes hang gliding and gets swept across the border in a storm. She lands in a North Korean forest. In a tree, where she crash lands into the arms of a handsome, elite North Korean soldier.

You can probably guess where this one’s going.

Same as with Vincenzo, CLoY (the acronym by which fans refer to the show) is chock-a-block with everything from romance to comedy, drama, action sequences, big-budget set pieces, an ensemble bromance, and spy action, along with much more. Be warned: You will literally fall in love with all of these characters, and you might even feel ready to march outside of Netflix’s headquarters in protest once you’ve finished this one. That’s because there’s not going to be a Season 2. Just try it, though. You’ll see what we mean (But you WILL be satisfied, overall, because this one is absolutely the best of the best).
