Plot

Go Ae-Rin suddenly loses her husband. A mysterious man, Kim Bon (So Ji-Sub), lives next door. Kim Bon is a legendary NIS agent. He helps Go Ae-Rin uncover a conspiracy, which husband became involved with.

So Ji-Sub cast in MBC drama series “Terius Behind Me”

So Ji-Sub is cast in new MBC drama series “Terius Behind Me” (working and literal title). The drama series will be directed by Park Sang-Hun (“Romance Full of Life“) and screenplay by Oh Ji-Young (“Shopping King Louis“). Plot and So Ji-Sub’s character description has not yet been revealed.

“Terius Behind Me” will first air Wednesday and Thursday at 10PM, beginning this August in South Korea.

I usual don`t start a thread if I don`t intend to watch the drama, without the plot or the genre but I found the title interesting.  I know So Ji Sub but I never watched him in anything so maybe this drama will be my first. I remember that So Ji Sub was in talks for another drama from KBS See You Again last year but not other information about the drama was released. Maybe he rejected the role or maybe the drama won`t be made.

So Ji Sub To Return To Small Screen With First Drama In Over Two Years

Actor So Ji Sub has been confirmed to be starring in a new drama!

 

On February 22, So Ji Sub’s agency confirmed that he would be appearing in the upcoming MBC drama “Terius Behind Me” (literal title).

A spokesperson for the agency stated, “So Ji Sub has decided to appear in MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Terius Behind Me.’ The schedule for filming has not yet been determined.”

“Terius Behind Me” will be helmed by producing director (PD) Park Sang Hoon, who previously worked on the hit dramas “To the Beautiful You” and “Jang Bori is Here,” and written by Oh Ji Young, the screenwriter of MBC’s “Shopping King Louie.”

So Ji Sub’s appearance will also mark his first drama role in over two years. The actor most recently starred in the KBS 2TV drama “Oh My Venus,” followed by the 2017 film “Battleship Island.” He is also set to appear in the upcoming film “I’m On My Way To Meet You” (literal title).

“Terius Behind Me” is expected to air in either late August or early September 2018.

Actor So Ji-sub is to star in a new drama series “Terius Behind Me” (working title).

So is to play the role of a character named Terius. The character is inspired by a widely-known Japanese comic “Candy Candy.” Although the original character is named Terrence in English, he is more referred to as Terius, in Korea. 

“Terius Behind Me” is set to air early September as a Wednesday-Thursday drama show. Specific details concerning the character or the plot were not revealed.

So Ji-sub is heading back to dramaland with a new MBC show, yay! It’s been two years since his last drama (Oh My Venus), and I’m looking forward to seeing him back on our TV screens, even if this casting news comes with barely any information to go on. But fine, I’ll cling to your measly scraps of info anyway!

All we’ve got to go on is the drama’s title, Terius Behind Me, which makes me think of the Candy Candy manhwa story wherein Terius (“Terry”) was a major love interest of the heroine. It’s an unusual enough name that I have to take the reference as deliberate, although that’s mostly speculation on my part.

I’m looking at this news with hopeful optimism because the project teams him with writer Oh Ji-young of the surprise comedy hit Shopping King Louis, which was a breath of fresh air with its wacky sensibility. That’s music to my ears, because while So Ji-sub made his name playing broody, intense, serious types (see: I’m Sorry, I Love You; What Happened in Bali), I’ve been loving his more lighthearted turn in recent years with shows like Oh My Venus and Master’s Sun. I have to respect whenever a stone-faced and serious actor sheds his image and embraces a little silliness.

I don`t know if it is a romantic comedy drama. I also prefer a thriller, slice of life drama, a melodrama (not makjang) but I also like a good romantic story. Sometime I need a rom com after so many crime shows.

I never see So Ji Sub in a drama but I heard about his projects. He was in drama Cain and Abel.

MBC drama series “Terius Behind Me,” starring So Ji-Sub, is now slated to air from September, 2018. In the drama series, So Ji-Sub will play Kim Bon. His character is a legendary NIS agent. His past operations code name was “Terius.” A woman’s husband goes missing. Kim Bon lives next to the woman and helps her uncover a conspiracy involving her husband. Casting for the female lead is ongoing.

Oh my god it’s my kind of drama !!!! When I was watching Battleship Island , I was not watching for SJK ( as cute as he is) , it was for So Ji Sub . This is the year of hot ahjussis!! We need a good female lead. No young idols please especially if they don’t look visually matching

I really hope we have a good female lead.  The title sugest that the heroine is in the center of the plot and Terius is helping her to find her husband. She is involved in the search and that means she is a strong woman who takes her destiny in her own hands. I really wish they will form a team and together they will uncover the conspiracy. The title and the short synopsis are implying that and I couldn`t be more pleased.

When I read the synopsis and read ababout conspiracy and a secret agent, I jumped to conclusion. I read more articles and they said it is a romantic comedy after all. A spy romantic comedy. Maybe it willbe like Mystery Queen kind of drama witch I like. This time we`ll have a spy "couple" investigating. 

 

 I wish it was a darker drama but let`s see what it will be. Maybe it will be good.

In Mystery Queen the heroine also had a husband and she made a good team with the detective. They were not a romantic couple and I like how their relationship was built this way. Maybe in the season two, she is divorced and they will become something more but if not  their relationship is fine the way it was.

 

About Terius Behing Me... I wish it is the same. If the heroine is looking for her husband she stills loves him and wants to know what happened to him, why he left. It is possible that in her investigation, she will discover that he was not the man she thought he is. In the meanwhile, she and Terius will know each other better, they will rely on one another, they will become friends. They could start to like each other but it will be sublte, it won't be addressed explicity. 

Maybe she will discover that her husband is dead. Who knows....

 

If they will remain just friends, it will be alright also.  I want more information about this drama and I am waiting to see who they cast as their heroine.

Lee Yoo-Young has been offered the lead female role in upcoming MBC drama series “Terius Behind Me” co-starring So Ji-Sub. Currently, Lee Yoo-Young is “positively considering” the offer. If she accepts, Lee Yoo-Young will play Go Ae-Rin. She is a married woman, but her husband dies. She tries to uncover a conspiracy with the help of her neighbor Kim Bon (So Ji-Sub).
