Kim Ji Eun has joined the cast of tvN’s upcoming drama “Mom’s Friend’s Son” (literal translation)!

 

On March 8, HB Entertainment officially announced, “Actress Kim Ji Eun has been confirmed to appear in tvN’s new drama ‘Mom’s Friend’s Son.’”
 

“Mom’s Friend’s Son” is a romantic comedy that marks the reunion of director Yoo Je Won and writer Shin Ha Eun, who previously worked together on the hit drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”
 

Jung So Min will be starring as Bae Seok Ryu, a woman who tries to reboot her troubled life after it goes awry. Jung Hae In will star as Choi Seung Hyo, the titular son of a friend of Seok Ryu’s mom—and someone whom Seok Ryu considers a living blotch on her personal history.

 

Kim Ji Eun will be playing the role of Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu’s cheerful and unpredictable childhood friend Jung Mo Eum, who is also the daughter of a friend of their moms. An emergency responder who is passionate about justice, Jung Mo Eum has dreamed of being a hero since childhood, and she takes immense pride in saving people’s lives as her job.

tvN's new drama 'Mom's Friend's Son' (directed by Yoo Je-won, written by Shin Ha-eun, produced by Studio Dragon and The Modori), scheduled to be broadcast for the first time in 2024, is a turbulent story between a woman trying to reboot her flawed life and her living dark history, 'Mom's Friend's Son'. It's a romance around the neighborhood. 

The story that unfolds when Choi Seung-hyo (played by Jung Hae-in) and Bae Seok-ryu (played by Jung So-min), 'childhood men and women' who record each other's dark history, reunite at the crossroads of youth provides pleasant laughter, warm empathy, and excitement.

Park Ji-young, who has a strong inner strength, transforms into Bae Seok-ryu's mother, Na Mi-sook, who has a blunt and bossy personality and a strong vitality, showing Jung So-min and her real-life mother and daughter. Versatile actor Jo Han-cheol takes on the role of Bae Geun-sik, the father of Bae Seok-ryu, who runs a small snack bar in the neighborhood. Jang Young-nam plays the role of Seo Hye-sook, the African head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the mother of Choi Seung-hyo, who loves her work. Tikitaka, the rivalry between two very different mothers, 'Nami-sook' and 'Seo Hye-sook', is expected to provide another fun experience. Lee Seung-jun, who has outstanding acting skills, plays the role of Choi Gyeong-jong, an emergency medicine professor and Choi Seung-hyo's father, and brings warmth with his 'foolish son' aspect.

In addition to Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, and Kim Ji Eun—who were previously confirmed for the drama—“Mom’s Friend’s Son” revealed its cast lineup on March 13 including Yoon Ji On, Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Jang Young Nam, Lee Seung Joon, Kim Geum Soon, Han Ye Joo, Jeon Suk Ho, N.Flying’s Lee Seung Hyub, and Shim So Young.

 

 

“Mom’s Friend’s Son” is a new rom-com drama about a woman named Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), who tries to restart her troubled life, and her mom’s friend’s son Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In), who is marked as the dark chapter in Bae Seok Ryu’s life. The drama will be helmed by director Yoo Je Won and writer Shin Ha Eun of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”
 

Jung So Min will be starring as Bae Seok Ryu, a woman who tries to reboot her troubled life after it goes awry. Jung Hae In will star as Choi Seung Hyo, the head of the architecture atelier In as well as the titular son of a friend of Seok Ryu’s mom—and someone whom Seok Ryu considers a living blotch on her personal history.

 

Kim Ji Eun will be playing the role of Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu’s cheerful and unpredictable childhood friend Jung Mo Eum, an emergency responder who is passionate about justice. Yoon Ji On will transform into Kang Dan Ho, a reporter who prioritizes being on site and only pursues the facts. Kang Dan Ho faces unpredictable changes as he moves next door to Jung Mo Eum.
 

Furthermore, Park Ji Young will play Bae Seok Ryu’s blunt mother Na Mi Sook, Jo Han Chul will play Baek Suk Ryu’s father Bae Geun Sik who runs a small snack bar, Jang Young Nam will play Choi Seung Hyo’s mother Seo Hye Sook, and Lee Seung Joon will play Choi Seung Hyo’s father Choi Kyung Jong who is a professor of emergency medicine.

Jeon Suk Ho plays Yoon Myung Woo, the joint head of architecture atelier In, Kim Geum Soon plays Jung Mo Eum’s mother Do Jae Sook, and Han Ye Joo plays Bang In Sook, who holds a lot of rage on the inside. Lee Seung Hyub will transform into Baek Seok Ryu’s younger brother Bae Dong Jin who dreams of becoming a fitness trainer, and Shim So Young will play In’s employee Lee Na Yoon who harbors one-sided love for Choi Seung Hyo.
