@hallee It may be because he knows where the necklace stall is and it may not be there forever. He also saw ET shopping at the park and knows she likes it. Knowing about it and discovering that he is part of her future by buying a necklace for her, he did not hesitate as he wants to be part of her future.

i think he did not see he gave the necklace to her. He just calculated that if he buys it and give it to her then she will not forgett about him even if she is meeting some CEO because she is wearing it in the future. He went out and bought it so he can give her now to be used in the future. I hope how I see it gives you some explanation.

It's 2017 already and yet we are not finished talking about how KES chose "unpretty" Kim Go Eun as her female main lead not *insert other actresses name*.... =_=. Even before the drama airing, like Kim Goeun has been received like tons of negative and rude comments from netizens because she's don't have the typical pretty standard face, and when the drama finally airing, they start bashing how childish her acting is bla bla bla. How could they? Why they always give negative feedback for Kim Goeun only, not other casts? Is it too biased? "Pretty" face doesn't always mean they can act.

In previous post, someone shared Kim Goeun's picture when she was in highschool, and Euntak (now) legit look like Kim Goeun (then) when she was in high school, even their uniform are similar. Her face is somewhat very fresh and youthful. This girl doesn't age. Could not thinking of any actresses that could portray Ji Euntak as perfect as Kim Goeun.

Kim Go Eun is not pretty? What is pretty definition? Anyone would have different definition and taste.. to me SHK is the prettiest, to my bff it's Park Shin Hye, to you maybe other actress.. pretty is a state of mind.. pretty is the chemistry.. and for Kim Go Eun to be chosen by Kim Eun Sook chaka nim since the first place it means KGE is pretty in a way that KES have as a state of mind.. for the role of a teenager to emerge into a young lady, who is better than KGE? I can't even think of any. And I have seen KGE in a tight dress with her gorgeous butt and her long legs.. she is a sexy woman. The drama can't have a steamy kisses because of the 15 years old plus age restriction but who knows who can watch it, maybe the whole family at home.. it's not 'a man and a woman' movie or an adult drama that air in the night time.. 

I'm really satisfied with all the leading roles. Especially GY and LDW (love LDW in Hotel King) and this is my first drama for Gong Yoo.. I didn't watch Big or others...

Just because her character was't butchered or she is more pally with certain actors doesn't mean director was right in the major goof up that she did..

I was thinking that maybe it's a possibility that Ji EunTak's past life is the daughter of the former king, Wang Yeo's brother.

Ji EunTak was a princess in her previous life.

Wang Yeo was her uncle. She was close to Queen Sun (it's possible Queen Sun took care of her or spends most time with her) and also to Warrior Shin (possible she's fond of him) .

Warrior Shin might not recognize her because the former King (Wang Yeo's brother)'s daughter is still very young (9 year old girl). Goblin Shin didn't know what Ji EunTak looks like when she was very young.

Reaper Yeo and Sunny don't recognize her because Reaper still can't remember his past and Sunny doesn't know her previous life.

Hi guys! I just made an account and this is my first post here. I was really entertained and amaze to all the theories I've read here so I decided to join, I hope I'll make friends  

I just had this thought lingering in my mind for a while now, since everyone is talking about the identity of Eun Tak's father. Some say she could be the reincarnation of the daughter of the evil servant, some say she could be the reincarnated daughter of Kim Shin's comrade.

Those two theories are possible but while I was thinking of other possible scenario, I suddenly remember a scene from episode 4 — the "Eun Bi is Hye Jin's daughter" scene where everyone watching in the store is shocked about the revelation including DH and GR. What if KES is trying to pull this kind of plot twist? 

Then I realized something.

That it is also possible for Eun Tak to be the reincarnation of Wang Yeo's daughter.  

• THE QUEEN DIED AT A YOUNG AGE, THEY DIDN'T HAVE A CHILD. 

No wife. No Queen. No Crown Prince/Princess.

Wang Yeo could possibly married someone from a powerful family to strengthen the throne (could be recommended by the evil servant) which happens to be Park Hee Von (Eun Tak's Mother) I'm assuming they had kids so there's someone that will inherit the throne, and one of their children is Eun Tak. 

• WHEN TAE HEE ASKED EUN TAK IF GRIM REAPER IS HER DAD

I understand this scene is funny, I may seem to be over thinking but for me it's a clue or somethin like that. I really take Goblin seriously so I always assume the most of the dialogues in this drama is significant to knowing more about the characters. 

• GRIM REAPER X EUN TAK RELATIONSHIP

I think the relationship of these two progressed really well. From a grim reaper who doesn't care, just wants the job done, take the missing soul asap to a grim reaper telling the goblin "Why would the missing soul die? I don't intend to make her die." 

There are a lot of moments where you can say that GR cares for ET, and consider her as a friend or family. Some of those are: 

-The congratulatory cake was his idea

-The bus scene where he was shocked why ET was there and immediately asked who has her name.

-When he told Eun Tak the real purpose of the goblin's bride (I know one of his reasons is he doesn't want Shin to die, but I think he is more worried about Eun Tak being oblivious of the truth. He wants her to make a judgment of her own.)

They have really cute interaction in the drama, that's why I think there is something more about GR-ET relationship. I remember wookie telling the viewers to watch out for his & go eun's chemistry. How epic would it be if ET is the reincarnation of WY's daughter hahahahaha! I hope ET will hold GR's hand so we could confirm if she have a past life or if she's a new soul. 

 

I also think there is a connection in the goryeo era on why ET was chosen to be the Goblin's bride, but I just don't know how to put it on words. I just really need to share this even though im not sure if im doing it right HAHAHAHAHA. I find the drama interesting because it widens  your horizon. You can think of a lot of possible things that will happen, analyze it on your own, share it, and learn more from others. ❤

speaking about DH real identity being the deity, I just recognize, the night when Shin make the fog and the supermoon, when GR get so angry with him causing the nature abnormalities, he said that he just want to be recognized, either by the GOD(deity) or Eun Tak.

And the one who we know accusing him of the supernatural phenomenon was DH and ET, idk it's just my thinking but it looks like the hint that DH is the deity is here.

What about this beauty standards matter? After that age gaps... Why should we make it a problem? For me, as long as the actors and actress can delivered the character very well, made me drowned inside the story, than it will be remembered as beautiful drama. Hahaha, I can't. I get goosebumps when Kim Tan asked "Do you like me?" or Yoo Shi Jin saying similar lines. It's the kind of cheesy/cheeky lines that the male lead say to the heroine directly without feeling shy or embarrassed that I don't like. She has really toned it down for Goblin. The one time it came close to being cheesy was when Shin got drunk and he outright said it to Eun Tak (can't remember the exact line), and it made her uncomfortable, but Gong Yoo did it a drunk way that it did not appear cheesy.

As for 'Uri ahjussi' statement, that comes off as 'adorable' rather than cheesy because he was just genuinely happy she is staking a claim on him, hehe. I guess it's how the lines are executed. If Shin or Grim Reaper were to suddenly asked their respectively lovers, "Hey beautiful, why are you so beautiful today?" without even blushing then that's really cheesy, LOL. But it'd be out of character if they did, thank god (for me).

Reply 88 is a drama for all ages-- it's about family, friends and lovers. You said you are 30 something of age, right? Then you would feel nostalgic because it's around the time of your childhood/teenagehood. You would see things that you haven't seen for awhile and those things bring back memories. I like the depiction of how the life is in the 80s where internet or mobile phones haven't been invented. Back then, people's relationship were closer and life was much simpler and happier without those things. My favourite is the solid friendships among the 2 generations, puts me to tears...

About Kim Go Eun's looks. People are so harsh and they probably haven't seen her act. Initially, I didn't find Gong Yoo or So Ji Sub good-looking too, but they have onscreen charm and they became attractive to me. I think it will be the same for Kim Go Eun. I first knew her in Chinatown. Ever since then, I thought she's got the acting skills even though she was fairly new to the industry. She nailed her role in Cheese in the Trap, and I never had doubts she would fail to act against Gong Yoo. I was more worried that Kim Eun Sook would screw up by giving her Candy or damsel in distress role. But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, until these people watch her act, they will never see her worth or appeal. Kim Go Eun as Ji Eun Tak, like Shin said, shine every day and is beautiful.

Guyz does any body has the link of the bg music which is played in Goblin? The music which played when Grim Reaper was looking at a man who was crossing the road and the red lady appeared from back.Maybe its epi 6/7.It was also played many times in epi 10.

I think this will be revealed in the next episode. The scene where someone puts a ring on Kim Sun hasn't been fully shown.

One of the best things about this show is the casts. All the main characters are great actors especially Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook and Kim Go Eun. The direction and cinematography are no joke too. we still don't know actually whether some plots are relevant to the story or not until the end of the drama. because we've known that some scenes are quite "mysterious" lol..e.g. the kid that ET helped when he was bullied by 2 older kids. i'm curious he is a human or ghost. if according to me, i think some ghosts that ET had helped before can help ET back later by asking forgiveness for ET or even KS to the deity. i hope so. hehe...

yes, i agree with you about the cast. the cast are all amazing. i don't see LDW as a supporting role as he has almost the same amount of scene as GY. and i can see GY treats him like a lead role too. i think the biggest PPL here is discovery? haha..they put on the jacket anytime since it is so cold. thanks to the PPLs too because they have made our actors and actress look fabulous. Lol... *spray white musk edt in the air to feel Gong Yoo's aura

so many speculation and theory but only few episodes left..I hope KES will not make it short cut...like in DOTS ending that seems to have so many hole in the story..if possible just extend more episode just to tell all the story ,,I won't complain...hehehehe I don't want this drama to end early..I really pray they will extend more episode..
