@ilwoo_aein @evie7 @darcydevenus since we are maybe the only few party here last night... address to you first and foremost
i am truly glad H Hyojoo got her recognition because H Hyojoo thru out this drama, has garner not a few hates... in fact it is deadly when it comes from 'famous recapers", or popular sites... now i realise the mighty pen can kill your reputation, or affect fans' views... at least i make you try to hightlight on the so call weakness of certain character after listening to some biased reporting site.
much earlier on, i was ranting in maybe a couple of posts against a certain blogger very blatant attack on Oh Yeonjoo.. now i come to think, is it against Oh Yeonjoo or maybe just against Han Hyojoo, that both Twin-blogger-recappers draw the sword so sharply, however worst, is their verbal usage of words mixed with humor then mixed even more with some fangirling swoons over 'some characters' like fans started to like, make neutral fans accept what they say about Yeonjoo, when they totally loved what they say about Bongsoo.
since this has turned a cold-cooled site, where people are but all disappear soon.. i take the liberty to air this thing that suffocated me, for many months....

from this incident i learnt some lession:
1. be not easily take on role of a Famous site's recaper, blogger, unless you are unbiased, and professional.
2. be not easily sway by whatever a famous recaper said very negative about any character (worst: actress) if you have not spend enough time watching that might criticized drama.
3. be not easily affect by ranting and antifans' hates, if you are the Producers or Writernim or Directors of a on going Drama, stand by your belief in your casts. be not waver and cut scenes or add scenes just because a growing legions of haters start ranting or rating does down.
4.be not forsake your favourite Actress in dire situation. above all, can be angry without spewing hates back to the haters. can be wrath with intelligence. rebute with politeness, else it reflect badly on the actresses you fight for.

i hate some rising trend in modern Kdrama-land... it is call "MAIN ACTRESS BASHING"
no matter how good an actress is, (look at Han Hyojoo). there will rise up a group of haters even from the elite blogs, to rant against her, slinging mud at her from her age (too old as noona) , to her looks (not pretty), to her acting (lousy acting), to her chemistry with hero (no chemistry , as well remove loveline), to her character not contribution to plot (romance not needed in certain genre... really>?)

i experienced defending against haters for Park Minyoung (Remember warof hte son), Jang Nara (Hello Monster), Han Hyojoo (W), and now Kim GoEun (Goblin)... i guess this Main Actress -ranting is partly due to the biased opinion some hold that certain actress don't deserve their favourite hot-actor, or that they only want the Hot-actor to pair with their One and Only Favourite Actress in a certain ship.

Han hyojoo at least also won   Top Excellence Award, Actress in a Miniseries at  5th APAN Star Awards . which is proven that her MBC Actress award is NOT an inside-arrangement. and she did nominated for Daesang (Grand Prize) at MBC last night. although she did nominate for Best Artist Award, Actress in 1st Asia Artist Awards , but didnt win. at least it is telling that she is definitely not just a "PRETTY-YOUNG-POPULAR' IDOL only.

DRAMA REACTIONS & REVIEWS

2016 Year in Review, Part 7: Editors’ Picks

BEST CHARACTER

kangchul_character.jpg

Kang Chul, W—Two Worlds

CandidClown: Who better to take home Best Character than an actual character? And not just that, but a manhwa hero with free will so strong that he defied his fate and literally brought the entire world to a halt in his search for the truth. Pretty badass.

From his first introduction, Kang Chul was just so fascinatingly faceted. He was the manhwa hero, the swoony romantic lead, the vengeful son of a murdered family, the disillusioned mortal confronting his own creator, and finally, a creator himself, manipulating both worlds to fashion his own ending. And at the center of all that was a young man desperately trying to prove that he had a say in his own fate, that his choices meant something. He brought to life the question we all face when considering the concept of fate: What do you do when it doesn’t matter what you do?

As a hero who was not only great to watch and exhilarating to root for, Kang Chul reminded us of the free will we take for granted each and every day. Who knows, maybe the Drama Gods DO exist, and this is all leading to the next episode. Anyone see a chyron anywhere…?

Honorable Mentions
Crown Prince Yeong, Moonlight Drawn By Clouds
Lee Hwa-shin, Jealousy Incarnate

BEST VILLAIN

noface_villain.jpg

No Face, W—Two Worlds

Saya: W—Two Worlds did a lot of things in a way they’d never been done in dramaland before. But perhaps its most startling offering was the actually faceless villain, who took us deep into a world of complex existential questions: What happens when a character becomes sentient to their fictional nature, but exists only as a plot device for the hero’s development? What if the villain takes control of the narrative? Can the villain stop being a villain? What happens after he fulfills his purpose? Part of what made No Face so radical was how different in concept he was, and how he constantly kept evolving—I mean, he literally evolved, and I surely was not the only one scared crapless when it happened.

Unlike the hero’s struggle for self-determination against the presets of his character, No Face was driven by the singular need to fulfill them. His meta-awareness and capabilities pushed the boundaries of villainy as we know it in a really fascinating way and ultimately left us wondering: Is the villain a villain at all, or just a tragic victim of bad writing?

Honorable Mentions
Hong-joo, Mirror of the Witch

BEST FIRST HALF OF DRAMA

w_bestfirsthalf.jpg

W—Two Worlds

gummimochi: If there ever was a drama that would turn the supernatural genre on its head this year, it was W—Two Worlds, which immediately captivated viewers with its mind-bending inter-dimensional premise that blurred the lines between fiction and reality. As the drama unfolded, a suspenseful, taut narrative drove each episode forward, making us question who was in control of this story: Was it the manhwa creator, his creation come to life, or something else entirely? Each crossover taught us something new about the rules of these worlds that made our heads spin with excitement.

…in the first half. But as we headed into the latter half anticipating answers, more arbitrary variables were tossed in through the narrative portal one by one, seemingly at whim, and those same rules we had once thought mind-blowing became fluid and senseless. What started off crisp and strong became confusing, making it a befuddled and perplexing watch to the finish. And yet, the excitement and inventiveness of the first half makes it hard to dismiss this show on account of its flaws, however major, which is why it deserves an award, even if it’s only for half the drama.

Honorable Mentions
Cheese in the Trap

I've noticed that the blogger's are a lot more critical of the female actors as a whole but when it comes to Han Hyo Joo they never seem to have many kind words. It's been going on for years. I don't get why they love to bash the actress's but your right it happens all of the time. What really is disappointing to me is the fact most of the bloggers are women. They don't treat the male actors in the same way. I'm sure if you check out the blogs that will cover these awards I'm sure there won't be many that will congratulate her.annoyed-smiley-face.gif I will read the blogs but don't really post in them and a lot of times I try to stay away from the comments. There can be too much negative stuff and why bother since we have Soompi.

i agree too.  I have only seen her in a few things, but I like her.  I have my own biases and opinions on actors.  I try to give them the benefit of doubt.  But there are some that I simply cannot stand.  I try to be courteous to those who love them... I will be more circumspect in the future. Thanks for posting that.  I am so proud of our drama though!!! I only have bought the Director's Cut DVD for four dramas.  This is the fourth.  They have all been so special!!!  Congrats again!!! I am so impatient for my drama!!! ^^
