The korean word 장갑(Jang-gab) actually can be used to describe both gloves or mittens. There are certain terms to strictly refer to a fingered glove or a mitten. But DS uses the term 장갑 which she could mean either a glove or a mitten.

As for her choosing mittens over gloves...Maybe just a preference? Maybe it is as simple as her thinking on that particular day that the mittens would look great against her outfit than the gloves. Hahaha XD which psssst this is a secret but i guess is her way of unconsciously saying that Taek looks good with her. LOLOL. Keep this a secret tho. Highly confidential information. Hahahaha

I guess supporting the underdog team has its own plus point. Even though we want Taek to be the endgame ('though the most important thing is we want him to be happy), we're still open to the possibility of him being the 2nd lead. We discuss clues that hinted to the possibility of Taek being the husband without completely rejecting the opposite probability. Some of us even try to find the balance in our argument, like stating if Taek in the future is like this, there is a possibility that Junghwan is like this too. Trying not to be overly confident in our ship is perhaps one way of lessening the potential heartbreak. But the humbleness in this thread feels very nice and warm to me. I like that we're not just blindly supporting our OTP. So, keep the positiveness, guys!

And also It's amazing how we can still discuss over some clues (from serious to the silly ones) and try to find the middle ground while also having fun with our YOLO-ness as Taektanic boarders ^^ Haha.

Well I am enjoying the show,and I've got my own list of favorite people,this show have this special point about having different mix for people of different preference,so it does not matter even if the love lines are not favorable. I've watched reply'94 mostly because the gang and their camaraderie was on point,loved the hostel and the way they used to spend nights with liquor,scary story tales,[I vaguely remember something like this,or maybe I'm fabricating that part,and samchun haitai's bickering of course.But still I'm the one who sees glass full of half water maybe ,so the speculation keeps coming naturally =S.Anyway,off to the drama discussions again.

I'm not sure about everyone talking about the concert...are you all talking about the concert in 1989 where they argued about the winner? If it is, then they all went together. Not just the husband and Deok Sun.

@mm_7888 from what i read in the main thread RJY is receiving so much love lately, and due to R1988, his popularity skyrocketed. knetizens came up with the term "onamryu"= "the nampyeon(husband) is ryu joon yeol anyway." polls indicate that majority believes him to be the husband, especially since his loveline with DS was set up first, before TK. At first those who began to watch R1988 to see PBG (he already had a few previous roles) were disappointed at his lack of screentime. also there are people over there who were fans of the Reply franchise and got Chilbonged last time, so this time they decided to follow the majority. Since SW was thought to be the other contender until 6th episode, I'd say #TeamTaek had a late start. I think the fact that this thread was only created 8 days ago should tell you this much, and that SW/DS and JH/DS threads were started way before ours (one month difference, aka we are 8 episodes late into the game).

I don't care about the % so i have no clue at all. but hey, AS LONG AS EVERYONE IS HAPPY HERE HEHE.. 

@mangachickava episode 6 (concert was mentioned by future hubby) and episode 7 is the clip above. I think this is not the concert that future hubby mentioned to her at the end of episode 6, he kept insisting it was Jeon Yoo Na. But this is weird, the Dramabeans recap and the translation I got from the subs are different. DB said that they all watch it together on tv, while the sub said "Who did you take to that concert? I watch it at home on TV!"  Need a Korean translator to clarify here. FYI, hubby only got the year wrong. He insist they all went together but Jeon Yoo Na wins in 1989, not 1988.

Time for more analyzing!

SOOO in episode 6, Taek hugged Deok Sun, but there wasn't much reaction, except you can tell she was a bit surprised about how forward Taek was. In episode 12, Taek leaned his head on Deok Sun's shoulder. It was a rather short moment, but we can see that it was in Deok Sun's POV, where every single movement was slow. Her facial expression was also either confused, or nervous. We can interpret that as either she didn't know what to say to Taek, or there was something going on inside her. I'm going to go with the latter because of the way she stuttered, but I'm about 80% sure about that. She could also just be conflicted on what she should day to Taek since he just lost a match. I believe it to be more of the latter because her hands clenched when Taek held her writs, and the screen was specifically zoomed onto it, meaning it was quite important for the viewers to see that. Now  in contrast to the hug in episode 6, Deok Sun hugged him back, and we know from her usual behaviour she probably would have hugged Taek or comforted him by patting his back or something, but she didn't. She just stood there. This scene is also very similar to the first few episodes where Deok Sun was surprised at how Junghwan protected her, with the umbrella scene and the McDonald's scene. 

To analyze further, we see that right when Deok Sun is so sure about Junghwan liking her and her returning those feelings, we see Taek moving her heart, even if just a little. She was clearly looking at Taek with a confused expression and was maybe about to say something, when Taek told her to go to the washroom and he'll be there waiting(ep 12). Of course, her expression was cut off by the woman coming out of the washroom. This felt very "typical k-drama ish."

Of course the biggest clue that's hindering the Taek=husband theory, is the postcard, but if Taek smoking could be a red herring, I don't see how the postcards could be too. We know that there are a lot of parts of the story not shown to keep the husband hidden, so it's very possible if Taek is the husband, there will be shocking aspects being revealed, which will probably make a lot of sense. Now, the revealing could only include good flashbacks if Taek was the husband because we're practically seeing all aspects of the Junghwan and Deok Sun story right now. 

Nowww, about the husband dating a lot of girls theory. I read somewhere that on the official page, it is said that Junghwan is not popular with women, but in contrast, Taek is. Just look at Deok Sun's friends begging to meet Taek and being rejected by Deok Sun over and over again(LOL). Taek doesn't necessarily have to date the girls, but a lot of girls will probably be around him, and I just don't see how many girls could be around Junghwan. He's quite shy in comparison to Taek, since we see Junghwan doesn't talk much around people other than his friends, in contrast, we see Taek being very good at speaking to people, even the parents, and he's not afraid to say things he's thinking or reveal his feelings. This just makes me think about how, if Taek didn't have the protection squad(Deok Sun and rest of friends) around him, he would actually be able to grow and become a lot more open, as he isn't really shy or timid.

Deok Sun's friends not seeing Taek has to serve a purpose to the story in some way. Every time, they saw one of the guys being nice to her, they tell her that he likes her. Now they haven't seen Taek, but it's quite evident that he likes Deok Sun. I bet if Deok Sun's friends saw Taek looking at Deok Sun with that smile of his, but they haven't seen him. This leads me to believe, that Deok Sun's journey is to figure out her feelings on her own. I also believe that Deok Sun only said that she didn't know if she liked Junghwan, because it ended horribly with Sun woo. She wasn't jiding her feelings, because she said it quite clearly and out there for her friends to hear.

Finallyyy(this has taken forever to write), I believe that the only two guys who Deok Sun will be crazy to marry at this point are Dong Ryong and Taek. She "likes" Junghwan right now, so why would she be crazy to marry him? Sun Woo is out of the game, so that only leaves Junghwan, Taek and Dong Ryong. By the smart clue, that automatically only leaves Junghwan and Taek. We can interpret older Deok Sun saying she was crazy to marry one of them because she grew up with them and never thought she would marry any of them, especially Junghwan because he was introduced as a dog. That's one explanation, but it could also focus on Taek because she's always taking care of him, so any girl would be crazy to marry such an idiot, as she would say. We also see her saying that she lucked out, when she agreed to take responsibility for Taek for the rest of her life. To add on, there are many scenes with Deok Sun saying that she's going to marry Taek, 
1. When she told her mom that she would seduce Taek for her
2. When she patted Taek's butt and told him to grow up so she can marry him
We can't really take these comments seriously, because it's quite obvious she was joking and definitely not serious. This shows that she probably NEVER thought about actually marrying Taek. Her comments can also be seen as foreshadowing to Taek actually maturing and being the one to steal Deok Sun's heart after the time skip. 

I've seen a few posts about how if Taek wasn't there, there wouldn't be much of a story, but I don't agree. He might be there just to add conflict to Junghwan and Deok Sun's relatioship in one point of view, but another view would be that Junghwan is there to add conflict to the Taek and Deok Sun relationship. Without Junghwan, it would probably be just the telling of a girl falling in love with a childhood friend who she never thought she always saw as a child, you know? Not much is there? We can't really say that one character is just there to add conflict in this part of the series, because every person is quite important.

I've said this before, but Deok Sun specifically said that it's been a couple of decades since she and her husband met. If I'm not wrong, the only guy she ever "met" in the neighbourhood is Taek, because the other four were all together since birth,I believe. The flashback was probably the most obvious clue. I rewatched the flashback in reply 1997, and it was also about the main guy's parents dying and how the girl was able to cheer him up. Some say the 1988 flashback was mainly about friends, but the focus was actually mostly on Taek and Deok Sun.

If this was me talking, I would have died of lack of air by now...anyways whoever bothered to read this, THANKS!

Actually at the end of episode 6, they were talking about the winner of the contest in 1988, and the husband thinks that it was Jeon Yoo Na and that all of them went together, but Deok Sun corrects him and says that it was 1989 and she watched it on tv

one thing regards red herring with the smoking is that if Tk was shown smoking once, just for that ep to build it up I would dismiss it all together...

but the fact he smokes actually has been built into two scenes that dont have to do with the love triangle (directly)

so now for me his smoking is part of his characterization and no longer a red herring...its being used to further other scenes for him and the fact the pd had a pack in his pocket for so many ep showed how he wanted to build it in naturally

I saw a news that PGB was commended by the staff of r88 for his good personality. I remember somethig like Jang Nara saying that he really is a good kid and that you can feel his kindness when he acts. That is really true and I am proud of him
