Would be nice to hear her say "I love you too" or "I love you just as much." to him. I mean, come on, she accepted the kiss, she should've just spilled everything and told him those words too. He deserves to hear it from her. Hoping she'll say it to him in the next episodes... Nevertheless, I enjoyed all their interactions today. I think what she meant by that is that don't forget that you actually love someone and that person is me. I think she's still a bit startled that he actually said those 3 words. The lone wolf said the 3 words that no men said to her before. So she wanted to make sure that later in the future if something were to happen, that he did loved some one and actually has feelings

Popular Post liddi
Ep14 subs are complete, with deepest gratitude to @ruizaio's wonderful transcripts of the missing scenes, and @snowglobe147's translation of the SBS preview for Ep15 Again, we see marked differences between the two versions, with SBS clearly So-centric, while the international allows us more access to Wook's feelings through Chae Ryung, and his deepest motivations, which he reveals to Queen Hwangbo and Yeon Hwa, much to their shock, that he ultimately turned traitor because of Hae Soo. And the multiple references to key scenes in the original, beautifully transposed here, yet ominous in what it may hold down the road. Additional scenes from SBS version: 1. Soo, promoted to Court Lady, supervising the Damiwon [00:09 to 00:51] 2. So confronting Wook after his announcement on behalf of King Hyejong regarding the restructuring of the palace forces. [9:13 to 10:11] WS: Wook, you're stepping over the line a lot lately. As if you're ruling as a regent with His Majesty's illness as an excuse. WW: Nonsense. It didn't pass because of your objection. I'll be more careful so nobody gets such a wrong impression. WS: The fact that you're acting as a Senior Minister itself is already causing a lot of alarm for the clans. If you keep pressuring the clans as if it's His Majesty's will, their resentment will keep growing. You're smiling? WW: I thought you were only good at fighting, but now I see you're also good with politics. WS: I had to learn in order to face you. I'm still suspicious of you. WW: I was just trying to fill in for the absence of His Majesty and overdid it a little. I'll take your advice. It wasn't something a mere senior minister can do. 3. Won secretly watching King Hyejong at the Damiwon, then speaks to Chae Ryung when she comes out [11:48 to 12:07] 4. Longer scene of young So being tied at the top of the castle, crying out for his mother, to which she continues to release the arrows 5. Baek Ah explains that So gave her a verse from Wang Wei's poem "Zhongnan Mountain Retreat" when he gave her So's letter 6. So's monologue as Soo reads his letter over and over again - a repeat of what he told her before about thinking of her when he was an ambassador, and wanting to live in peace with her, without whom the position of king is meaningless to him [31:57 to 32:22] 7. Soo repeatedly reading and writing So's letter, ending with her in tears 8. Jung rushing to stop the rebellion but being stopped by Queen Yoo [52:15 to 52:46] 9. Preview shows Yo demanding So catch Eun, and So refusing.Additional scenes from International version: 1. Chae Ryung telling Soo that Wook still feels misses her, after mentioning how Wook freed her to enter Damiwon 2. Won meets Chae Ryung before she prepares King Hyejong's bath and passes her a small packet as reward, and tells her to take good care of the king, even though she did not want to accept it 3. Baek Ah reminiscing about his banter with Woo Hee when they first met. Then when he sees her, he asks her that she would not disappear if he touched her. Won Hee confesses that despite thinking she would be sad seeing him, she could not help herself. 5. Wook revealing to Queen Hwangbo and YH that he is helping Yo stage the coup, and admitting his decisions are because of Hae Soo. 6. Preview includes Soo trying to investigate the origin of the mercury in the bath, sweet moments between Eun and Seon Deok. Seeing the rebellion has succeeded, I wonder if we will get to see the scene with Wook revealing his motivations for supporting Yo in Ep15. Now more than ever, it is clearly a shame that we do not have a combination of both versions, because a merged version is definitely conducive to helping us at least understand the two men better. Baek Ah and Woo Hee's one scene is truncated as well, but probably for the best, since there is so much to be covered in 1 short hour. I am just sorry that Chae Ryung's initial conversation with Won was cut, since that would have indicated Chae Ryung and Won's relationship to be more than just a prince and a lowly maid who is helping him with his evil plot. I am both overjoyed yet apprehensive to see many familiar scenes from BBJX. The moment So and Soo promised never to lie to one another, but also not to pry if there are secrets the other does not wish to reveal. A mark of respect and trust between the two lovers, but if it follows the original, will also mean the beginning of the end, because Ruoxi never did reveal the name of her unknown lover and 4th Prince never pressed to know it... a decision that would have consequences they never imagined when jealousy and sense of betrayal set in once the name is finally made known. We see Soo again not telling So her faithless lover was Wook... as such, I am dreading that this drama will go down the same path. The same poem that 4th Prince gave Ruoxi, was featured in So's letter to Soo. And Soo copying So's writing over and over again... another ominous portend... knowing how Ruoxi's final letter never reached 4th Prince until it was too late, exactly because her handwriting was the same as the King's, and 14th Prince did not wish for more gossip to be tied to those who saw her similar penmanship, thus hiding her letter in an envelope that he signed.
myramalie
After watching ep 14, I felt it was a bit rushed. Too much going on in one episode that sometimes i felt it becomes a bit choppy. still loving the show.. Poor hae soo, that girl being betrayed and used front left and center. the game of throne indeed is ruthless.. at the back of my mind, i wish they could just leave the palace during CP time and live happily somewhere but i understd the whole context of loyalty and the need to protect the CP.
Popular Post liddi
@MadraRua I am not very well-versed in classics, but this is my interpretation of the portion of the poem So gave to Soo: 行到水穷处 When the water has run dry 坐看云起时 Sit and watch for the rising clouds In other words, when there is no water left, sit and watch for the rising clouds, for with clouds comes rain, and with rain, the drought is over. It is basically talking about frame of mind. What I believe it is saying is when all seems lost, or one has encountered a dead end, do not lose hope. Instead, take a step back, watch and wait for the opportunity that will surely arise again. So in this case, So is encouraging Soo... that while it appears that there is no chance of them leaving the palace and being together at the moment, he is asking her to wait for him... for the chance that will surely come one day. Just my two cents

Popular Post larinalove
Okay, I just watched the episode with subs and I did like it and not only because of the much awaited WS-HS romance blossoming but also because it's starting to get real and dark as it was promised. It kind of feels rushed not gonna lie, because for 10 straight episodes we had this slow build up of events like we have 30 episodes to cover the whole story and after the 11'th episode everything started exploding, everyone started dying and the games of throne have become fierce, I know it was bound to happen eventually but it just feels a bit anticlimactic, maybe it's just me but that's how I feel about it. I am happy to finally see HS realize her feelings for WS and accept his love, what I loved most about their very new romance is the fact that they actually talked things through when the misunderstandings happened, I thought that was very rational and true to the nature of how things should work in real life between people, not using it as a pretext to dramatize things between them as most K-dramas do, when a simple heartfelt and honest communication can sort things out. Did you guys notice how the writers made it clear the difference between WS and WW in their feelings and treatment towards HS in this episode?! After WS learned that the only way to protect CP's daughter was to marry her and then went to see Soo for their date, all beautified for him and wearing his hairpin, he did not chose to promise her sweet nothings, he did not try to give her false hope or tell her to wait for him, to endure or that things will get better, even in the scene when she's sitting in the stairs he says to her that he broke his promises to her and her trust so whatever reason he gives her that won't change, and that is exactly the difference between WS and WW. While Wook always chose the easy way out, he asked HS countless times to wait for him, he promised her no one would treat her badly, he promised her to take her out of the palace, to marry her and then blamed everyone else for his cowardice and not taking a stand, he never apologized to HS for not keeping his promises. In this episode we see that WS doesn't ask her to wait for him or to hope, saying he knows she dislikes multiple wives and he tried to avoid marriage but it was not possible so he could not tell her that, and if that is not respect for her I don't know what it is because I remember some time ago some people saying he does not respect Soo. WS actually can teach a lot to modern men, yes the wolf, brute So, is far more polished and thoughtful than most men these days (I know he's an imaginary character but just saying, lol). One thing that is bothering me is that WS still doesn't know Wook was the one HS loved, it was made obvious this episode, I am sure they will make it a problem for their relationship later, as in the C-version, So has given her two names and she denied both not telling her that it was Wook, even though how he hasn't noticed this is beyond me, actually it shouldn't matter that it was Wook, he knows it was someone so what difference does it make that it was him but I guess in drama land everything can happen and if they choose to make this a conflict between them they will do so. In the end, I was very sad for WM's death and the scene where JM takes him into his arms and cries made me tear up, great acting and deliverance. WM was a good person, son and a brother but that was his weakness, he was too good and too soft to be e good king, the crown was too much of a burden for him. I hate the evil trio, Wang Yo, Wang Won and Wang Wook, cannot wait to see their demise. The next episode will be heartbreaking, so let's prepare ourselves, I hope I won't break my laptop trying to enter in the screen to murder the evil trio. This drama has taken over my life and I need sleep, haha, Thanks for reading my ramblings, sorry for the long post and see you all in the next episode. Hugs!
Popular Post Umi_ni_Sora
Jeez. Episode 14 was such an emotional rollercoaster ride. It made me feel uneasy, scared, excited, and hungry for more. My thoughts on SoSoo in this episode: Soo and So are finally committed to one another, but that isn't to say it was an easy road to get there. I love how their romance appeared seamless because of the slow buildup of Soo and So's relationship over the last 13 episodes. I also love how little by little, Soo is beginning to understand So a little more and she is amazed by him every time, one evidence being that she was impressed by his poem and surprised he could write like that. It’s the little things about So the tug at her heart. His playfulness on the boat and his howling to get her attention. Funny that she knew it was him making all that racket and in my mind she must be thinking, “This cheeky prince is up to no good.” She can't help but be drawn to him, like a moth to a fire. Throughout the episode, you could tell that Soo is love-struck. Soo dresses up for So, complete with hairpin. She checks it to ensure it's there's perfectly set and So sees this, bringing a smile to his beautiful face. The pin a symbol of their love, and she is wearing it proudly in contrast to how she keeps rejecting it before. Last time it was in So's hands. How did she get it back from him? O_o; Anyways, everything So says and does affects her mind, body, and soul. Look at how disappointed she looked when So said he forgot what he wanted to tell her before they went on their boat ride. She seemed a little down, and So could tell, which was why he rocked the boat to lift her spirits. He asked if she was having her hopes up about the important thing he has to say. She says she isn't. You little liar. LOL. The timing of their date was off because of So’s marriage announcement, but nevertheless, he wanted to create a good day for him and Soo. Then on the boat ride, after Soo realized that he’ll remain by her side, and that he’ll never have to turn away from things he like again, she smiles. Look at the way she looks at him when he smiles. So looks like he’s sparkling against the glow of the sun, and this mesmerizes Soo. I LOVE how this scene was shot. The SBS version has Lee Hi’s Can You Heart My Heart playing in the background, which is very fitting. Soo is back to her old self, but you can tell she is proceeding with caution. Soo has grown from her hardships. She knows she’s got it bad for So, but she tries to put a little distance, maybe to protect herself. The problem is, So can completely undo her barriers just with his eyes. He isn’t the type to just give up because she tells him to. You’ve gotta hand it to her though, falling in love for the third time after being burned twice is pretty admirable of Soo. It would be hard for most to fall in love again, but So is not just some ordinary man and you can’t choose who you fall in love with. You just do. And it looks like she’s over Wook, but his name and thoughts of him are still thorns at her side. The stargazing date is romantic in so many ways. First, we see a parallel between WookSoo and SoSoo. So holds out his hand to Soo the same way Wook has done before, but of course the circumstance is different. I could spot a bit of hesitancy from Soo, but you can tell she finally took his hand because she trusts him and loves him. And remember, the universe which is comprised of the moon and stars, is what ties these two lovebirds together. In the beginning, Soo remarks that she could see stars that only show up in Goryeo. So echoes her words when he returns to the palace to shack up in Jimong’s place. And now, we see the two lovers sitting side by side watching the stars together, only this time their circumstance and relationship has changed. Again, So watches Soo as she is explaining about the stars. He is enamored by her all over again. This again mirrors the first time they watched the stars together (the first snow fell afterwards). But finally this time, Soo catches him watching her. That difference shows the growth of their relationship, and Soo is now acknowledging him. She is now watching him too, and she is happy to see him smiling. That is when he is the most lovable to her. I also love when she stops him from kissing her three times and played hard to get. The sulking So is an endearing So, which Soo can’t help but find adorable. See her smile? Other SoSoo scenes has gotten me all twisted up. When Soo hears about So’s marriage, she is heartbroken. You see her sitting in the Damiwon looking all dejected, and then he comes to confirm the news without telling her the reason why he was doing it. Soo tears up because she is hurt, especially having to hear the news from someone else other than So. In her mind, she is thinking about their promise and is feeling disappointed and sad that the promise is broken. So, being the ever considerate person, was not going to make excuses for his actions unlike someone –coughWookcough- because he knows she’ll be hurt either way. He knows Soo hates polygamy, but there was no other way to tell her (that is, until he was forced to to clear up their misunderstanding). Then Soo traces So’s letter over and over again, but the meaning of the poem is lost to her because of how sad and disappointed she feels. You can tell that Soo loves So very much just by this action alone. She is trying to understand his feelings, but no matter how many times she traces his letters, she can't help but feel saddened at the thought of losing him. Her tears are evidence that she loves him very much. The words unsaid are eating at her. Soo is a practical woman – she doesn’t want pretty poems to explain things…like someone –coughWookcough-. She wants So to just explain things as it is. This misunderstanding causes a conflict between them; I have a feeling more like this is to come. In the end, Soo shows So how she is upset with him by lying to him about Jung. So sees right through her, and is upset that she would go that far to anger him. He hates liars as he said and hates that she of all people is lying to him. He stands outside her door boiling, but chooses to go to her the next day and drag her out of Damiwon to let her explain her actions. That moment outside of Damiwon is one of my favorite SoSoo scenes, next to the backhug (which is oddly my favorite). Soo and So finally lets out whatever has been bothering them and they come to a mutual understanding. Soo is relieved to hear So’s reasons for marrying the princess, and is amazed yet again by how kind, thoughtful, and honest he really is. Again, he touches her heart, which is why she went in for the kiss. How can anyone not love this man? He proves to her again that he is not after the throne, but is sacrificing himself to save others. That’s the So she fell in love with and she is glad he has not changed (yet?). And So, our resident clueless prince, is happy to learn that Soo is not in love with Jung…LOL. But it breaks my heart thinking about how he’ll react when he learns that Wook was Soo’s former lover, which I’m sure is the ace up Wook’s sleeves (and leading to more misunderstandings between SoSoo…heollll!). Anyways, I LOVE how Soo initiates the kiss after So tells her he loves her. That smile, OHMYGERD. She really is in love with him. That shocked look on So’s face, LOL. Daaang. They are both screwed, LOL. So couldn’t believe her at first, but then he’s like... “Well…since you gave me permission…”. And LJK-ah. Those kissing practices sure paid off, I could tell. If you need more practice, I’ll volunteer as tribute. PM for my number! Joking aside, daaaang, boy. My heart. The way he caresses her hair and her cheek before he kisses her back. The way his eyes moves to her lips and he leans in slowly. The kiss was so innocent and sweet, but I can’t help but think dirty thoughts. Like how great would their bed scenes be? His lips are moving, right? Don’t just stand there Soo. Hell, I want some tongue action, panting, and moaning, please! –ahem- Pardon me. Anyways, I can’t help but feel uneasy for the next episodes. So is forced into a corner now and I’m sure he’ll have to go through drastic measures to cut himself free of being used by others. This may mean more misunderstandings between SoSoo and more heartbreak. The only way to be free is to become king. Buckle up, kids. I’ll comment more on other things, but I had to get SoSoo off my chest. God, I love them.

But we still have 6 more eps.....with no happy ever after assured. That said, I think both SO and WOOK are very well written character. faeriealice
Finally got around to watch the episode, and I gotta say, it's a real shame how rushed it was :\ Sure the dates and the confessions were nice, but the pacing was so out of whack that it was preventing me from actually enjoying the episode. Although things are looking tragic for tomorrow, I hope the pacing will be better. I hate it when they start rushing, nothing good comes out of it. =_=

Yeah, it seems like SBS is retroactively trying to put more of the focus on Wang So, which makes me glad but also sort of worried because that means that the original script was still aiming to draw out the Wook/Soo loveline this late into the show. I watched the international version and remembered feeling really irked at how they were still trying to emphasis Wook and So's basically nonexistent relationship at this point, but I'm glad to see that SBS has tried to amend that.
