Top 3 Favorite K-Drama Couples With The Best Chemistry From The First Half Of 2021 Of Kpopmap Readers (Vote Result)

 

In the first half of 2021, there were not a lot of romance dramas. However, there were memorable couples who made viewers' hearts flutter with their romantic scenes and chemistry.

 

In Kpopmap, we've opened a vote on June 28, asking our readers to select their favorite couple with the best chemistry in dramas from the first half of 2021. It includes dramas that ended airing from January 2021 to June 2021. Thank you for all your votes.

3. SeonGyeom (Im SiWan) & MiJoo (Shin SeKyung) - "Run On"

 

 

The athlete SeonGyeom and the movie translator MiJoo took the 3rd rank. They are one of the loveliest K-Drama couples of this year. The likable and soft couple learned how to understand each other despite being of opposite personalities.

Siwan draws attention for his princely visuals at the 74th 'Cannes Film Festival' alongside Lee Byung Hun & Song Kang Ho 

 

On July 16 CET, director Han Jae Rim and actors Song Kang Ho, Lee Byung Hun, and Lim Siwan of the blockbuster disaster film 'Emergency Declaration' attended the 74th 'Cannes Film Festival', showcasing their production for the first time as an out-of-competition category film. 

 

Ahead of the film's official showing during the evening, director Han Jae Rim and the three lead actors also greeted press representatives from around the globe during a 'Photo Call' event. Actor Siwan particularly garnered attention for his youthful and "princely" visuals, as even foreign media outlets were seen zooming in for close-up shots of Siwan. 

Media outlet reports from the site of the 74th 'Cannes Film Festival' stated that after the official showing of Han Jae Rim's 'Emergency Declaration', audiences erupted with applause approximately 4 times during the screening, then also got up for a standing ovation for approximately 10-minutes at the end of the film. 

 

Meanwhile, Siwan is expected to showcase a stunning transformation as an actor in the new film, 'Emergency Declaration'. On the other hand, actor Song Kang Ho was invited to serve as a judge for this year's 'Cannes Film Festival', while Lee Byung Hun was chosen as one of the award presenter for the festival's finale.

*** Siwan looks dapper at the 34th Cannes Film Festival, same thing wih Lee Byung Hun. The four men went there to showcase their film ‘Emergency Declaration’. Before the screening of the movie, a ‘photo call’ event was held for the media where the actors and the director arrived dressed in sharp outfits and grabbed the attention of the onlookers.Im Siwan  worn a white sleeved shirt with a black vest. He was his sweet self, engaging with the reporters and photographers, making the best of his time there. I look forward to his interesting role & of course, Lee Byung Hun who's also in the movie. :Fist1:

***  "Emergency Declaration"  has pulled off a successful world premiere at the Lumiere Grand Theater on the night of July 16 (local time)at Cannes Film Festival. Before the official screening, Song Kang Ho, Lee Byung Hun, Im Si Wan, and director Han Jae Rim participated in red carpet events and photocall. On the same night, "Emergency Declaration"  held its official screening at the event. Notably, attendees at the screening stated that the audience gave a big round of applause four times during the film and gave it a standing ovation that lasted about ten minutes. Im Si Wan said, “I was a little nervous while watching the movie. I just want to say that it was truly an honor to perform with such great actors. Thank you very much,” sharing his excitement at the Cannes Film Festival. Thierry Frémaux, the general delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, lavished praise on the new movie by saying, “It’s shockingly amazing! Spectacular!”  :partyblob:

9 K-Drama Couples That Have Healthy Relationships

It can be surprisingly hard to find a good depiction of a healthy relationship in a K-drama. Although the feelings might be genuine, having a strong foundation, healthy courtship, and maintaining a solid relationship is actually not common in the fictitious K-dramaland. Although we’ve visited this topic in the past (see this feature here), here are some more main K-drama couples that have pretty healthy and solid relationships.

1. Ki Sun Kyum and Oh Mi Joo in “Run On”

In “Run On,” Im Si Wan plays a former track runner named Ki Sun Kyum who decides to retire as a result of no longer finding happiness in the sport. He meets Oh Min Joo (Shin Se Kyung), a free-spirited subtitle translator for foreign films.

 

The two are very different, but Sun Kyum takes a strong liking to Mi Joo, and they start to fall in love.

 

The best part about this couple is that their relationship is very realistic. The two don’t fall in love at first sight, but after getting to know each other and understanding their struggles and dreams, they fall in love. It’s a progression and a journey that viewers partake in and also end up getting butterflies over. Their conversations are not superficial but very deep and meaningful, which makes this couple even more healthy and admirable!
