Rain, yet to decide on hosting KBS' idol rebooting project, The Unit

Rain and Kim Tae Hee will be tying the knot this February. Pinterest

 

Local Korean media recently reported that singer-actor Rain is all set to host KBS' upcoming idol rebooting project The Unit. However, in a telephonic conversation with My Daily, a KBS official clarified that Rain is currently reviewing the project and is yet to make a final decision.

Rain is currently filming the movie The Wolverine Wang Woobok Dong and if all goes well, The Unit will be his comeback to broadcast following his marriage to actress Kim Tae Hee this January. KBS-produced The Unit was originally titled The Final 99 Match. The program aims at providing a platform for aspiring idols. The program has an extraordinary audition program and is made with a whopping budget of 7 billion won. The Unit is likely to be aired in October.

So far, Rain has seven albums (six Korean, one Japanese), 28 singles and numerous concerts to his list; he made his acting debut in the drama Sang Doo! Let's Go To School in 2003. While, Kim is best known for her roles in Stairway to Heaven, Love Story in Harvard, Iris, My Princess, and Yong-pal.

Meanwhile, Rain, Kang Sora, and Min Hyo Rin are coming together onscreen for a period film that will narrate the life of the legendary Korean cyclist Uhm Bok Dong. Uhm was a Korean cyclist active during the Japanese colonial era. He became a heroic icon after winning cycle races against Japan's top cyclist during the era. For Uhm, cycling was a way of protest against Japanese colonisation.

Rain will play the titular role, Uhm Bok Dong, while Kang Sora will appear as Kim Hyun Shin, a fighter in Hwang Jae Ho's independence movement. However, the role of Min Hyo is yet to be revealed. The film will also star Park Jin Joo in an important role. The trio—Hyo, Hyun Shin, and Jin Joo—was last seen together in 2011's hit movie Sunny.

The biopic is bankrolled by Lee Bum Soo, who also make a special appearance as Uhm Bok Dong's cycling coach and independence fighter, Hwang Jae Ho. The initial shooting has already begun and the film is likely to hit the screens later this year.

Hmmm, me wondering too, whether KimBi couple had all those unique but very thoughtful and useful features/ideas incorporated into their bed.

We all know so well, at end of the day, when back at home from work, how welcoming it is bedtime! Having a drink, snacks and other things within reach from the pockets/drawers of the bed is such a welcome relief especially when one can’t afford to take his/her eyes off the screen in front of them, not even a second!

On August 12, she sent a coffee truck to the set of his film “Uhm Bok Dong.”

The food truck company uploaded photos on Instagram and wrote, “Jung Ji Hoon’s wife and most beautiful actress Ki Tae Hee sent our truck to the Jeonju filming set. After lunch, we provided cool coffee beverages, shaved ice, and churros.”

The text that Kim Tae Hee included on the banners reads, “You have worked hard in this extremely hot weather!!! All the actors and staff, gain strength until the very end. I am cheering you on a lot!!! Uhm Bok Dong hwaiting!”

Such a sweet wife, Kim Tae Hee by sending a coffee truck to support her husband, Rain who is busy filming his upcoming movie.

Recently, the food truck company uploaded a photo on its official website and revealed movie ‘Uhm Bok Dong’ on set photos and stated that Kim Tae Hee sent a coffee truck in support his husband.

The coffee truck banner states, ‘Everyone has worked hard in this hot weather. All the actors and staffs, do gain strength until the very end and I will continue to support all of you!’

 

 

Uhm Bok Dong is a remake movie based on the real story of Uhm Bok Dong, the hero cyclist in Korea. Uhm Bok Dong is a patriotic cyclist who non-stop joining various competition and competed against Japanese cyclists and won. Lee Wan spoke about his sister Kim Tae Hee and his brother-in-law Rain for the first time since their marriage on the latest episode of “Law of the Jungle.”

Kangnam shared that he lives in the same apartment building as Rain, and started a conversation with Lee Wan about his family. Lee Wan revealed that he lives with his mom, since his sister got married. Kangnam then asked about his new brother-in-law to which Lee Wan responded, “We are slowly becoming a family and getting closer.”

Lee Wan also opened up about hiding the fact that he was Kim Tae Hee’s brother during his debut. He debuted in the popular drama “Stairway to Heaven,” and acted as siblings alongside his real-life sister. However, Lee Wan hid the fact that Kim Tae Hee was his actual sister and even changed his name so people would not know.

“When we ran into each other on set, I would bow to her and act as if we were acquaintances,” said Lee Wan, and surprised his “Law of the Jungle” cast members.

Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hee and Rain recently announced they were expecting a baby.

Broadcasted on August 18, SBS' 'Laws of the Jungle' featured Kim Tae Hee's younger brother Lee Wan talking about his brother-in-law Rain.

Kangnam asked, "Do you live alone?"  Lee Wan responded, "I did live alone up until around the time of my noona's marriage.  I'm currently living with my parents."

Following this, Kangnam said, "So do you consider Rain hyung as a family member? Are you close to him?"  With that, Lee Wan answered cautiously, "We are gradually becoming like family, we are getting close."

Kangnam continued on with his questionnaire, saying curiously, "How do you address him? Maehyung or Hyungnim?" Lee Wan replied, "I tend to mix things up a bit."

Singer Rain plans to release comeback album in November

SEOUL, Aug. 18 (Yonhap) -- South Korean pop singer Rain is working on a new EP record and plans to release it in November, according to his company Friday. 

"Rain plans to briefly visit the U.S. in September and will later focus on producing the album to put it out in an EP format in November," a representative at Rain Company said.

The most recent work released by the singer, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, was "Rain Effect" back in January 2014. His new project will reportedly include self-written tracks along with ones from hired outside producers.

"Just one song is recorded as of now and four more have to be worked on," the company said.

Rain is taking part in the making of the biographical drama film "Uhm Bok-dong," which revolves around the famed cyclist Uhm Bok-dong who became a symbol of pride for Koreans when he defeated Japanese cyclists and won the championship in a bicycle race during the Japanese colonial period (1910-45).

Debuting as a pop singer in 2002, Rain was named one of the "100 Most Influential People" by U.S. Time magazine in 2006 and 2011. Outside of singing, he's appeared in the Hollywood films "Speed Racer" (2008) and "Ninja Assassin" (2009), and the Chinese TV series "Diamond Love." In January, he got married to star actress Kim Tae-hee.

Sweet, Rain Granted Songs for His Child Candidate

 

 

SEOUL - Rain seems to have a present for his future baby being conceived by Kim Tae Hee. In this case, the real name owner Jung Ji Hoon is planning his comeback this year.

Rain's agency confirmed that the singer was getting ready with his new song. The unique release of this song on the same month with the birth of his son is planned to be born in November.

"Rain is currently working on his music and aims to release a mini-album in November and he has finished recording a single song," the agency's representative was quoted as saying by Soompi.

Although Rain has released the digital single 'The Best Present' on January 15th this year, this will be Rain's first album in three years and ten months since 'Rain Effect' 2014. It will also be the first release of this singer since marriage with Kim Tae Hee in January.

Hahaha - In my personal opinion, I prefer LW to call RAIN as his Maehyung................."Maehyung" is someone elder sister's husband - In other words, brother-in-law. "Hyungnim" - a male person would use hyung or hyungnim to all his old brother. While KTH can call Hana (RAIN's sis) as Agasshi or Asshi. I realized that there are various ways of calling your relatives in K-culture. It's pretty confusing at first but when you get the grasp of it you'll be having fun hearing these titles being spoken.

I can see why LW gets confused sometimes, alternating between what I deem as formal, the title Maehyung and the less formal, Hyungnim, but I reckon in his situation, the first that comes to mind should be Maehyung, which is what you prefer too. This should be easier if he uses the same address for his older brother-in-law, i.e. his eldest sister’s husband. Anyway, I am glad that they are getting closer now. The news before this current one was LW having dinner with KimBi couple. That speaks volume already on the bonding process. I hope we read more about the “brotherhood” of Rain and LW in near future.

Remember I posted pictures of him at Incheon International Airport leaving for the shooting of the Law of the Jungle, I think in the last 1-2 months? Him with curly hair and sunglasses? Looking fit and smart. Hope to see more of him in the showbiz. Perhaps he could then share his experience with his new niece/nephew when Baby Jung is born. We’ll get news from additional source when KimBi couple is too busy to divulge!
