I know!! I thought the same too! And then actress kyunghee cuts in on their "moment" so HY had to shift her attention from her face squishing moment. I cannot. Haha
ssohyn.k uploaded a really nice compilation of them on youtube. The 2nd half of the video is just them and all their happy moments. I'm watching them and the smile on my face just gets wider and wider

Ohh I've never seen this article. I don't agree with it either, can't see any of the above portraying Lee Dam. Also because Hyeri has very successfully assimilated into the character, or vice versa. Plus that sychronisation with JKY is out of this world! I wouldn't want any other actresses playing Dam (even if I do like at least 2 other actresses in that list).
And I forgot about the farewell video, I want it released too pleassse.
AH that classic fox mispelling, I was re-reading ssohyn.k's translated articles from the actors. And even JKY said he loved that scene too
Currently rewatching the series, trying to feel that initial awkwardness (that HY claims to have existed!) btw HY and JKY, to that elevated chemistry as they get more comfortable, till eventually they pretty much play themselves! But trying not to go through it all too quickly because I dont want it to end

I spent this afternoon looking at the Volume Up bts (during the adverts, commercials airing) which was uploaded by Gabe.. so yes a lot of interactions between our two leads...one scene which look so sexy was when Kiyong spoke near to Hyeri, asking her something seriously, eye to eye... and eventually they broke into laughter.. haha.. i wonder what they say.. as if Kiyong dared Hyeri to do or say something but Hyeri decided not to..

Haha yep I read a review saying JKY got thinner towards the end, to the point he looked too frail. But I feel like its a korean thing, they like to look skinny on screen. And mind you I thought he looked dashing nontheles. Haha. Even Hyeri said she lost weight to look better for a romcom image

@Heedong pretty sure Start up was pre-produced. But maybe there was a slight time overlap between the 2 productions? Or they had some extra scenes to film towards the end?
I just saw Hyeri's cosmopolitan shoot. I wish it could have been with KY. She looks amazing in it, their vibes and visuals would have been out of this world!
I didn't quite understand that "vacuum state" other-world scene in which SWY was lying unconscious in, in the last ep. Smurfett820 in dramabeans summed it up really well:
"I think they tried to explain away how he didn’t go through the same process as the girl gumiho. His time technically wasn’t up yet. Instead, since the mountain god was trying to save him, he created a scenario ahead of time where JKY had to demonstrate his humanity, aka willingness to die/save someone, and thus turning human. That’s why he didn’t turn into an evil spirit."
And just saw TVN uploading more clips of ep16, while HY didnt sob quite as hard as I thought she should for someone watching their lover die, I am very touched at her expression when she ran to him. I could see her heartbreak and desperation. PLUs, can I say, she ran very beautifully for that scene

@inaho101 I'm exactly the same as you! haha. Trying to remain rational but its not easy.
I figured whatever, I can support them openly, as long as I don't wish badly on HY's relationship and respect that they have an awesome close friendship at the moment. They are too gorgeous together to ignore.
Although, @Heedong @inaho101 what are the chances KY and HY are more like Dam and Jeajin in real life? Hmm. At least they seem a little more enthusiastic on the skinship than Dam and Jeajin I hope.

Mmm maybe he looked at Hana more because she was the host? I find that watching their video of them interacting during adverts and songs, they seemed to be in their own world a lot more (of course they also talked to Hana too). But its good to get a different perspective, rather than indulging my shipper heart. Haha
@orion00 I agree he looks the best in this drama! Its the bangs, really should let them down. I saw somewhere where they commented about the difference betwen bangs vs no bangs for our 2 leads. Haha
And finally the subbed BTS is up! Same clips, and everything that has already been translated and dissected by fans on IG/twitter. Reminds me of their happy times. I guess that means no more tidbits about MRIAG, unless TVN continues to post clips of the drama that we have watched. Even Hyeri is posting about food truck for her new drama. But nothing from JKy to HY? Or maybe he doesnt normally send food/coffe trucks?

Are they really rooting for SHK-JKY couple? I feel like he matches better with similar aged actresses though. But could just be me. Still, I'm happy for him, with her level of popularity, it may just be what he needs to propel his star status to the next level before he disappears for 2 years.

. Shipping is a hard life, what more so when one of the 2 is already taken and we can't openly root for them but have to try and stay level headed I only just realised, HY doesn't follow JKY on IG. Anyone knows why?

I'm glad Hyeri x JKY many JKY still respect Hyeri even she is in relationship. Maybe JKY fans are more mature fans perhaps? hahahaha. When MRIAG started, not many articles covering this drama (maybe because they dislike Hyeri very close to JKY) and we only see articles appearing after second half of the drama.
Haha I find fans tend to be very protective of their "Oppa"? It's a trend even in the idol world. But like some people say, it's not like us fans would end up dating them, so why meddle in their relationships. I think JKY hasn't had a public relationship for fans to link him with anyone yet, hence there is no violent objections (plus the fact that Hyeri has RJY) so they think their Oppa is safe? Unlike his pairing with SHK, who doesn't have a great image, relationships-wise.
I just read some of the comments for the volume-up break time interactions, the funniest comment :" when a bottle of water is life". Hahaha. Hyeri might just be my new girl crush, she has no reservations sharing water, unlike JKY who is so polite, ensuring that his lips don't touch the bottle

Each time I try not to link two and two together, I see the way they interact and just look at each other @ 14:48 and !7:10 and just fall straight back into it. Although do reply1988 fans know? Apprarently HY and RJY had wayyyy more convincing interactions, esp at their concert??
Just my own random thought. If they say JKY is a player, then I'm sure Hyeri is one above him- she is a bottle full of charms, he's the one drawn by her energy

I just finished watching Amazing Saturday too! I love that comment about JKY visiting her family, if only that was true
. And indeed Hyeri is truly the same person everywhere she goes. Love her energy! I think JKY is reserved in front of people he's not well-acquainted with and takes time to warm up. But once he is familiar with them, as we've seen in his other videos with his friends (and that dance video!), he can be quite the rioter too. Lol. I suppose Hyeri brought out that energy in him on set, hence why they got along well.
@realistic2280that's so true, with all the recent revelations in the industry, many of these actors and the images they portray can't always be fully trusted. I suppose HY picked her bf, and have stayed with him for so long because she knows him best. And for that I admire her, after all, it's hard not to develop feelings after spending so much time together right?
@HeedongI can see why you would have shipped HY and PBG, I think he syncs really well with similar aged actresses too. He always seems so sweet and gentle with his co-stars. I remember wishing desperately for him and Kim Yoo Jung to date, and still love that pairing till today.

Haha I gotta admit, if not for how well-matched HY and JKY was and that undeniable level of comfort with each other, I usually have 2nd male lead syndrome. There were so many times I felt bad for SeonWoo Sunbae too, he was such a silent admirer of Dam, plus he's pretty good looking himself!

SpoilerThe last blue-ray I got was when I was actually in Korea. If we had to get it here, I would say Ebay, or try Gmarket (shipping fee can be quite expensive though). From memory, I don't think there was subs but I havent watched it in awhile, sorry!
@Heedong @syahirannsyakirann I've watched some of his interviews with other FLs, and like @syahirannsyakirannsaid, yeh he was pretty easy going with Jin Ki Joo too, and he did post a few picts for their drama and with her on his IG. I think the differentiating factor here is Hyeri, plus the genre of their drama as opposed to his previous more sombre dramas.
I remember reading on this forum where someone mentioned this is just standard Hyeri, and even during reply 1988 people speculated that she was dating Park Bogum because of their interactions?
@orion00I listened to DPR Ian because of JKY too. I remember seeing a comment on youtube for a version without the MV, saying they could appreciate it better without the disturbing scenes. I think most people can't relate to the MV. Haha

@Heedong thanks for sharing the video! I watched the full subbed version but didn't know where to see their interactions outside the live radio moments. They look like such CLOSE friends! Their simple interactions make me squeal, esp after 14:48, the way they just LOOk at each other, I cannot
. It makes me even more heartened to see their friendship stay the same even after 2 months of ending filming. I really hope it continues even after he enlists!!
@realistic2280 yup, mispelling of Fox has got to be the highlight of Hye Sun's clumsiness. Haha. Both JKY and HS nailed that scene alright. I really like JKY's subtle sense of comedic acting to be honest, especially when it involves Hye Sun. I reckon it could be on par with that of Goblin.
And yes, the fact that TVN is only NOW actively promoting the drama? Why didnt they start earlier
, that way we may have had more interviews and promotions come out of our leads (although I concede it could have been difficult if JKY and HY are both on other projects already).
@Archey I've purchased blue ray once before, its quite a bulky pack with heaps of goodies but not easy to come by. Maybe thats why reply1988 is selling now for way higher than RRP.
I don't think we'll get blue ray with director's cut for this drama, the hype is not quite there. But I really hope they release some sort of a BTs. So far some bits of the TvN one is just them reciting their lines.
@orion00 I do remember the controversy at the beginning. Sigh I was not everything had to be so political. If this was a netflix drama over IQiyi, I'm certain it would be WAY more popular than it already is. Its just unfortunate for our beautiful cast.
Can I just say, Hy and Jky's synergy just matches so well? Unlike his previous characters, from all the videos you guys have shared, its obvious he's fun loving and is just that slight bit mischievous as HY pointed out. I think that's also the reason why they get along so well. She gives, and he accepts (like the chin touching, face squishing business. Haha). Plus he reciprocates too, hand holding, gentle gazes and ultra smiley faces. These two!! I'm just as glad as them for having had the chance to reunite in this drama.
Now maybe after his mandatory service and a few years later, they can work together again, on a melo or period drama as he wishes?

Me too, HY's pouting face was sooo cute. I'm sure KY couldn't resist teasing her too. This drama really made me discover her charms, and she doesn't even have to fake it, it is simply just who she is!
Thanks for the article too! I was a bit disappointed at that review. True, I don't think they were acting geniuses in this drama, but Hyeri was very natural, nothing seemed forced. And I agree there wasn't as much tension as other similar themed dramas like YWCFTS and Goblin that kept us at the edge of our seats, wondering if the OTP would indeed end up together. But its the light heartedness and fluffy feelings that kept us glued and made us fall in love with all the characters.
One thing's for sure, and the review failed to credit them- HY and JKY's convincing chemistry and natural interactions made this drama a must watch!

@orion00 that's so cute. Even the minor side character gets a whole video dedicated to him. Good on his agency for trying to get him out there!
And I noticed on a fan IG that JKY and SHK were already filming in April
. That's one tight schedule for him alright! But what warms my heart is that they started promos (including that radio interview) closer to and on the day of first airing of MRIAG and still they looked close and just as comfortable as before. So definitely no friendship lost yet despite moving on!
@Heedong May I ask where you saw the photos of Hyeri's food truck for JKY?
@realistic2280 I realised too that the flowers were not from him
but it doesn't matter. She got so many bouquets anyway. His supportive presence means more. Haha

@Heedong I love how their kiss scene was so passionate and heart racing but yet so restrained. I reckon JKY was really respectful of Hyeri even in that kiss scene. Maybe the director didn't request anything over the top, or maybe it was all cut from the final edit. But even his hand on her waist to me looked very mannerly, I hope Hyeri appreciates his thoughtful gesture too. Hehe

It's ok for us to ship them until we able to let them go. Ki Yong and Hyeri probably already has kissing scene with their new co-star by the time we discussing this.
One thing maybe K-drama need to do more is to casts actor and actress within the same age range. The best combination I can see is when the ML is slightly older than FL and this give much better chemistry compared to young ML-older FL or ML with huge age gap with FL. It would overcome the awkwardness in romantic scene for example.
LOL that's so true! Sparks are probably flying in their new dramas while we're here mourning the conclusion of MRIAG. My rational mind tells me to get over it, but my heart needs time too

You make a fair point, if they tried to cast actors with a closer age gap, everyone could let down their guard and become friendlier quicker, esp in their society where age and rank holds so much weight.
Mind you, I'm sure having happy pill Hyeri around made a huge difference, with the addition of KY who's such a fun boy at heart, plus all the 2nd leads and supporting actors who just gelled so easily!
If I may say so, Bae In Hyuk is so lucky to have met all the cast so early on in his career, so as to leave happy memories. I didn't realise he's so young, plus he seemed to get along well with Hyeri too!

I enjoy reading everything you guys have to contribute.
On one hand MRIAG makes me feel so full from happiness seeing how they're all such a big family, from actors, staff to crew. On the other hand, I feel so sad to let them go! I wish they could keep the BTS coming, even if its just snippets, just to fill the void from the drama. They filmed for 6 months, surely there are more stories right? Hopefully IQiyi will release a longer subbed BTS, or better still, BTS with different content from TVN. Hehe
I absolutely looooove HY and KY too. Haha. In the back of my mind, I figured maybe they'll just let loose and be all comfortable, touchy-feely with each other as much as they want during the filming (without overstepping boundaries!). After all, if not now, then when?
I mean HY is easy going even with Bae In Hyuk, but KY not so much with other actresses, unless he feels close enough to do so. And we can all tell he certainly does with HY!
Yeah maybe be treats her like a sister, or one of his buddies (I can see how much of a fun-loving, full of laughs type of person he is with his mates too), but the difference? That tender looking eyes of his that sometimes comes through when he stares at her, or even when he's comforting her on their last day. Love love love how they flaunt their closeness without a care in the world. I'm sure there are plenty of crew who have been watching them film and have grown to see how compatible they can be

Also love how JKY picked his favourite nickname in the show as Euroshin, because it reminds him of how brightly Dam smiles when she calls him that. Normally actors focus more about themselves, but he chose to include her too-- now does that not tell us how special the SWY-Dam couple is to him too?
@orion00 @Heedong I noticed too that she avoided posting on foxdam couple halfway through the series too, I was so sad thinking she wanted to avoid more rumours. So I was definitely glad she did post more at the end!
@orion00 if only we could ship them! Too bad Hyeri so steadfastly mentions RJY (but I mean, its a good thing for her to stay true to her man!) And besides JKY has to enlist, I'm happy to wait for his discharge and support their beautiful friendship in the meanwhile!
Not sure if we'll get more interviews or selcas out of Hyeri or JKY though, since he has definitely posted more than his usual share for a drama, and given that they are both onto new projects now
I guess I'm just hoping for more BTS?

@orion00 me too!! My FAVOURITE part of her Vlog. If only I could see his expression when he's looking at her teary eyes. Must be really gentle and coaxing her not to cry. Gyahh! Even when Hyeri is looking at/side eyeing him at 0:16 onwards, with those eyes that are protesting (?) because they are teasing her for crying.
Hyeri sent a coffee truck, ALREADY? Fingers crossed maybe he'll post closer to when the drama is about to air? Since MRIAG was still airing, didn't want to start promoting his new project yet?

I just realised their final filming day was so hectic and tiring, all the crying and intense scenes. Even JKY's crying scene after leaving Dam back at her place and him returning home to an empty house was filmed that day too
. I also noticed his veins all popping from his neck when he cried. Gosh, that's good quality immersion in acting!
I also just re-watched their radio interview for MRIAG (finally with subs) and found it really sweet how he said even if SWY were to meet Deoksun on the streets, SWY would still be attracted to Deoksun. BECAUSE... (and wait for this), Deoksun is still Hyeri!!
He could mean it nothing more than Hyeri has perfectly captured and portrayed both roles, but it could also simply mean, its Hyeri

So judging by both Hyeri and JKY's vlog, it seems that they film WY and Dam's second kiss almost at the end of the filming. And right after visiting Hyeri, JKY proceeded to film his last scene with the green screen alone.

I wish Hyeri went to say goodbye to him too, congratulate him on his completion too.
I recall JKY saying his character is rather lonely, unlike Hyeri who has family and friends so she's always surrounded by people. Even on his final scene he had to film something so depressing on his own!

I was away for a short while and OMG soooo many updates! Just as I was feeling a bit sad about the end of the drama and I thought all the cast was done saying their Goodbyes.

The joy I felt! I'm sooo glad Hyeri shared his appearance in her vlog too (I find that they usually try not to include too much of other actors in their personal vlogs). Just seeing him there for her, after he "came running" at the news that she was crying, even I was touched
. Although I feel like she cried more sadly on the last day than when they filmed Euroshin's death. Lol

And YES, as much as he tries not to, he always has photos with her. Hehe. I wish he picked different ones from yesterday's post though. I wanted to see other selcas of them

This drama is such a hugh turning point to him and Hyeri where so many people start to recognise their work and talent. Even Hyeri is coming from idol group, not many knows her acting before. And I love how all the casts supporting each other in this drama.
Yup I think its so sweet and thoughtful that he signed off his farewell on IG as Shin Woo Yeo. It shows how meaningful this character was to him, and gives credit to us fans of the drama too!
And you're right @orion00, I never understood the hype about Hyeri/thought her bubbly character was all a front. But through this drama and BTS/variety/interviews, I realised she's so genuine and well loved. Even if her acting is not top notch, the fact that she tries, has made me want to watch her next piece of work too!

Me too, not a big fan of SHK, neither did I watch DOTS even though I liked SJK. Haha.
But I will watch her with JKY, just to see what their chemistry is like. And because I will miss him on screen. Can't help but wonder what it's like on set of his new drama, and Hyeri's too of course.
Pretty sure they'll be missing the ease and comfort of filming with each other, and the entire cast, after all they were like one big class of high school/uni friends who had so much fun together!

I'm the same @inaho101, I keep checking for updates! But I feel like reading everyone's thoughts helps in the process of letting them go, and I an happy to have a space to share all my fangirling over our characters too
I love the BTS! Thank you @Heedong, can't wait for the subbed version too. But I now know why Hana said filming at the campsite was most memorable. They had soooo much fun filming, legit a day of friends hanging out. If only my day at work was this fun too, haha. Normally, other drama couple pairings would separate after taking selfies and what not right? Not these 2, not on their last few days of filming! I noticed how their arms were still around each other the whole time!

And KY is so easy going, he doesn't mind even when Hyeri jokingly called him Kiyoung-ie whilst rehearsing at the prompt of the director. Gahhh! Why are they so cute?
Again, so happy for them to have found a representative character for themselves! That's all you want, to be remembered for at least one character. And even more so for Hyeri who now has two!
Side note: I can't remember where it was mentioned, but I believe Hyeri explained/implied that back when they first met on their previous drama, they were still young/starting out, and during that stage of their career would be too engrossed in trying to perfect their characters. Besides, Hyeri also mentioned that JKY's character ended up with Minah and not her, so maybe they did not have much interactions or enough time to build up a proper friendship (coupled with the fact that JKY takes time to open up to people).

Hi @Archey! I agree, JKY will be huge if he keeps up the momentum, especially if his drama with SHK does well given her popularity. Personally, I think he's similar to So Ji Sub, started out as a model, great physique and those melo eyes but suave and sharp look.
@orion00 You're right, I guess Hyeri had to mention RJY, so that people realise they are still in a relationship and don't start rumours about her and JKY. I respect her for doing that, and her long term relationship. But it's so hard to separate JKY-Hyeri when everything seemed so REAL.
Kudos to them both-Hyeri mentioned in her interview that they worked hard to build that chemistry to make the plot come alive, and so they did! To the point that there are so many silent shippers

The fact that JKY chose Hyeri as his sibling over Hana in the radio interview, I mean, even Hyeri herself was surprised. Like others have mentioned, he too probably wanted to shut down any rumours out of respect for her relationship.
@realistic2280 I'm sad alright! No chance (for now?) to ship this couple. As @inaho101 mentioned, chemistry off the charts! They are soooo gorgeous in every bit of interaction that they share. Where do I find a BFF like him? Hahaha
@inaho101 I too think like you, these 2 lovely people are so young. Who knows what the future holds? Plus he still has military enlistment to fulfill. I'll definitely remember their chemistry, those smiles and endless laughters they share.

. Shipping is a hard life, what more so when one of the 2 is already taken and we can't openly root for them but have to try and stay level headed 
. And indeed Hyeri is truly the same person everywhere she goes. Love her energy! I think JKY is reserved in front of people he's not well-acquainted with and takes time to warm up. But once he is familiar with them, as we've seen in his other videos with his friends (and that dance video!), he can be quite the rioter too. Lol. I suppose Hyeri brought out that energy in him on set, hence why they got along well.
, that way we may have had more interviews and promotions come out of our leads (although I concede it could have been difficult if JKY and HY are both on other projects already).
But nontheless, he did it multiple times after. Haha. Still even without the hug, their interactions are just gold (to me at least)

@Heedong thanks for continuing to share their news. Its so good to know they still chat seeing how its been 4 months since filming ended. I wonder if they share all their current drama filming stories with each other too!

Ahh still cant get over their sticker photos. Who plasters their faces together sooo happily even just for drama photos right? Esp when it would sO not be in character of SWY to look so unreserved and overjoyed. We can all tell he took it pretty much as himself, not SWY. *wink
@Heedong I realised, maybe HY meant over 10 hrs of filming, includes the kissing scene that leads to the bed scene, plus rehearsals. Hahaha
