but the police commissioner who help OHJ is more suspicious to me now , I mean even when he had no lead and OHJ was in bad health situation he just with all his power watched the police close her murder and cover up and didnt even react to that??? I mean there few days before clamming down and think logical when he was supposed to be sad and heartbroken for a daughter like death and he set still and silent to the point no one know his connected to her ??
No emotional reaction at all that make someone notice his connected to her
Really just helping OHJ later waiting for him to recover for 5 years ( I dont pay it something odd here with him)
It did cross my mind as a possibility that commissioner could be bad guy. Yea, it would be suspicious if he only help him later, but there's also a possibility that maybe it was a part of the plan. OHJ doesn't seem to be harboring any ill feelings toward him. If we question it, I'm sure he would too being the genius that he is. Maybe it's too soon or drama tend to leave things out. However, a lot of stuff is reveal later so I will hold out judgment on that for now.

Okay now I really need to see OHJ backstory, his family background, his teenage day and everything's not just how he was as detective or person before the accident
Really the man making gangsters shaking in fear, he making them work for him and they scary only from one look of him which mean so much in crime world that not just fear of strong detective
mind power, logic and profile way of solving crime , fighting skill's and dealing with underground information that mix
between two different kind of cops
Who in the hell OHJ is ?? really now I am asking who is OHJ ?
p.s. and who was his fiancee ? she was like a daughter for the police commissioner and that was not even known to anyone really even after what happen to her ?? what she was involved in?? here when i say i don't believe in Coincidence that big net of secret had to be connectedConsider the boss guy say he's the second type of friend and OHJ taught him how to be careful. I imagine maybe he was undercover at one point and that's how he instill fear in the gangsters side.
As far as his fiancee goes. I would say maybe the secret was around her father's death and she had a clue therefore she had to go too. Like you say nothing is a coincidence.

how oppa turn to the hero
Hihi I think that is oppa's official role now. They must be answering who's ever complaint before why she never has extra training etc. and it's because oppa is there to be the bodyguard. As we see again in ep. 9 she's in danger once again....

She should take short cut like oppa
Can we just say the way JH landed on his feet and sprang up right away is kind of like a superhero. It's interesting how he don't mind getting into it, but at the same time he kind of backs off and let them do the rest.

I cannot understand why are some of you guys so obsessed with the romance element of this drama when it is clearly an investigation/crime genre haha...
Anyway I finished ep 7 and I have one question :
If the female lawyer abduct the kid after the fender bender, why is there the scene is the previous episode of the kid running up the mountain hiding in a small shed?
Or maybe the timeline should be like this : after the kid ran from his school, he hid under the drain, then the fellow pulled him out, the kid managed to run up the mountain, hid in the shed, then got discovered and thrown into a sack, put into the trunk, then the fender bender..
I think is the long drought from him not doing romance dramas. Actually, I always saw it as more teacher and student relationship, but have no objection if it goes to romance.
I think I saw timeline more with your or scenario.

Ok I saw the scene where OHJ and SY talk in the criminal’s room with the toys. He reminds me of LYO the character he played on Beautiful Mind, let me elaborate
The way he asked her “Does she feel guilty? does she always empathize like this?” He sounded genuinely curious. Like he was studying her behavior, like he really doesn’t understand. I keep thinking he has some sort of antisocial disorder and it was there before the explosion. He probably is fascinated with studying the human psyche and behavior precisely because he doesn’t understand it instinctively. Because of this disorder it’s also easier for him to put himself in the shoes of the killers. Although Jang Hyuk said that OHJ “forgot to feel pain” so I’m not sure so maybe he is like this as a result of trauma after Isu’s death but I just feel like he was probably always “different”. That scene gave me a LYO observing people’s face to “read” them, vibe.
Haha I had same thought too during that scene. Also because of what his fiance said before so I was thinking yea but there is varying degrees of it. Maybe he's not as bad.

I want to see him working again with Soo Ae they had awesome rapport in The Flu (more behind the scenes than in the movie) She spoke so beautifully about him I almost felt like shipping them (but no, his wife is my ship forever)
Yea, wish they explore it more. They look cute here.

@The Reel Life Most likely, he is not getting offers for romance. He is likely not the first actor casting directors picture for romance and while plenty of love stories could be written for people in their 40’s kdrama doesn’t do many of those.
Yea..feel the same. Lucky if they cast him, then it has to be a script he likes, and what I worry about is finding a female lead that suits him so that chance isn't wasted.

Hmmm....I cannot resist Pil Joo. I didn't think Pil Joo was sexy but he has a kind of charisma that draws people to him. Even if Pil Joo is a villain I still can't hate him. For me, the only time I didn't like his look (not drama) was Robbers (found his face quite thin & sharp) & Urban Cop (that hair).
Yea i didn't particularly like his hair in urban cop, but he have these moments like with the bread etc that makes up for it.

Ok so the story is pretty much going along of how I imagine it from beginning so I'm good . Back on track and lets hope for more characters development.

do you remember after the MF drama he has an interview, and the interviewer mentioned sexy too? He was sooooo shy then. Kept saying it was the CG, lighting etc haha. I don’t have the translated version but this is from @azureblue7’s IG! I really liked this video cos he looked genuinely innocent when it was mentioned to him Oh I don’t know what this guy is thinking sometimes... haha. How could he be so oblivious to it when he himself created such sexy characters!! I wish someone would string the video of him saying this with the video of him reading out the recent OCN comment about him knowing his sexy! Would be a nice video hahaha.
hihi isn't he kind of always mix with confidence and shy when he talks like in this video at 3:51

Kim Nam Gil Donates His “Master In The House” Appearance Fee
Feb 16, 2020Actor Kim Nam Gil has donated his full “Master in the House” appearance fee.
In the recording for the variety show’s upcoming episode, the crew gave pedometers to the cast and promised to donate the same number of school supplies as the number recorded on the pedometers In response, Kim Nam Gil and the members did their best to increase the number of steps on the pedometers.
After witnessing their burning will, the production crew suggested a special marathon, promising to donate an amount three times larger than the amount recorded if the cast completed the marathon in time. Kim Nam Gil and the members seemed highly motivated by the opportunity to increase the number of school supplies.
After filming, Kim Nam Gil told the crew that he also wanted to donate the entirety of his appearance fee. It was shared that he added, “I hope you will contribute it to a good cause.”
You will be able to watch their struggles and attempts to donate more a larger amount in the next broadcast that airs on February 16 at 6:25 p.m. KST.
So sweet that's why I like him...such a philanthropist, though in denial, saying he's not really a good guy.

And now I feel lost because I can’t make sense of OHJs plan/purpose. His behavior feels so unrelatable to me now. But, Ill try to keep an open mind and hope that OHJ starts to get “humanized” from now on. And I hope for at least SOME logic in his behaviour from now on.
Can you elaborate what parts you felt are not humanize and unrelatable?

@phoenix24 Yeah I meant specially on twitter I’ve had regrets because I say some silliness and then casual viewers and/or JH ask me, what??? That baaaddd? I won’t start the drama then! And Im like, oh no. Thats why I check myself every once in a while
Here is the best place to vent because like you said, we come from a place of respect for JH, so we might not like eeeeeverything he does but we always rant with love lol (actual disrespectful hater comments toward him actually hurt and I get on protective mom mode.)
I don't really hang out on Twitter. Being human it's hard not to get somewhat affected by comments. I just remember JH saying he goes more parallel with fans' comments so I don't think he's totally affected. If so he would of just went for the popular genres/roles. I hope and it seem to me he can take constructive criticism especially when there's logic or something to back it up and that's one of his attractive qualities. To always improve, being curious, and wanting to learn. Also, some actors go into directing etc. If that's ever the case with him, I hope he takes some of suggestions to heart. As we can all see, fans aren't always forgiving, are smarter, and notice more details than in the past.

@The Reel Life I get what you mean. I ranted a lot and now Im drained myself. Im going to keep quiet until the next episode. We need to vent but if a person reaches a point where everything about the show is negative then, well, best thing is to drop it. Its easy to get on “negative” mode, its kinda contagious and truth is there are some things about the drama that I LIKED, I just want more of it (that whole, I felt sorry for you and myself moment, Its so tiny yet, makes the drama for me). Also really really love what JH is doing with his voice and yes his character seems like a “comic” character starting from the aesthetics, I think that is the concept, just like Hwang looks like she comes from The Matrix, but so what? The killer is also OTT, to me it feels intentional and we could tell from
the posters so I don’t mind. But anyway as a JH fan Ive always felt that Im in this dilemma where I want to speak my mind (and I do) but then regret it somewhat because (especially on twitter) people get influenced by others comments and I figure they’ll think “Wow, if even a JH fan is trashing this then it must really suck!” and I kind of don’t want to contribute to the negativity, especially on an ongoing project of his.
I never really saw what you said as trashing. People tend to interpret things differently and we can't always win. I never really like blind faith to an artist either. That's how I am to my friends/loved ones as well. I will truthfully give the pros and cons especially when ask. I think it's just matter of delivery and if we do it from a respectful place. I think we all here just want to see him have a successful project and to be able to showcase his full potential.

You can?! Oh, are they saying something interesting?
I feel the same as you- people are writing like they've never seen police shows before OR Kdramas. We've only seen 4 episodes of this show, and experience has shown us that usually the first episodes are just the setup- however, many of the commenters talk like this is all we're gonna get, which is why they decide the show is bad. I don't get this attitude... Also, there is this strange expectation of realism that I don't know where is comes from- most police shows and movies, including OCN shows, have parts in them that are inaccurate or unrealistic, even the best shows, so why is this show expected to be so realistic? I already seen comments saying "if this will happen , I will stop watching!"... Whatever. People will think what they like, and it seems like there a surge of negativity on the Soompi thread, while on twitter it's mostly positive... Don't know why that is... Do you see the point in arguing with them?
Hm..not sure if there's anything you don't know already. They both gave compliments that other one was cool. Jay Park said he worked out to look like JH. When asked what JH thought was the characteristic of an ideal/real man. He said, someone who knows how to treat everyone well and to be able to understand others. Hihi he did say in reality they are very naughty.

Btw with regards to the TMWYS, I’m now feeling kinda drained from reading the show’s Soompi forum thread, cos there are quite a number if people criticizing the show and the characters and most things around it that it is quite sad to read! Not sure if you guys feel the same way? Sometimes I really wished there were also a little bit more appreciation for the show and what the casts are doing with their acting and not just the negatives. I guess it’s inevitable because people don’t necessarily view it from a JH lense and I know I’m biased in wanting to see the show at least have some form of success or JH being appreciated for his acting.
Yea, it is a bit sad when I know people who aren't necessarily JH fans or bias, but still appreciate and like him, but not liking the show. However, not all the reviews were bad even for ep 3-4. I guess that's why we're taking a break on this side with some other JH stuff for now to recharge. Lets just cross fingers and hope for the best.

I think JH takes care of the younger guys of Sidus, so he will support Jay Park whenever he can. Wasn't Jay Park the guy over which JH lost the Secret Garden role?
But who can forget this photoshoot they did together?!
Oh thanks, funny I was just watching this, but without sub. This is perfect because I understand Vietnamese.

JH has said that he feels uncomfortable in the more "wacky" variety shows like Running men and Family outing, because he is more reserved. We've seen that he only does them with his friends. I find JH to be extremely funny, but his type of humor is slower and he does have a very serious streak to him, so he's usually very awkward in those shows. In the Happy together his did in 2015 you could see that he actually prepared funny bits, and he pulled them out in succession until he actually said "I'm finished with my part now. This is exhausting!" you can actually see his serious side coming out when he apologized to the comedian that did the Chinese show with him. His seriousness and earnestness makes him so endearing!
I just saw someone posted these clips- So awkward, serious and funny and again we see how he makes people want to touch him... so cute!
I think he found his type of variety shows in Real men and Urban cops. More professional and he can achieve something in them. I hope he will soon do another show like that.
Actually, since he loves teaching I also wonder how he'll do in something like master in the house. I enjoy him on running man actually for ep45 with the CF and modeling. Too bad he was sick around that time or definitely for ep 44.

@phoenix24 Jay Park is a known “fanboy” of Jang Hyuk they are kinda friends or they at least used to have this rapport already, but they only met the girl for the show and I really liked their chemistry. He kept teasing that girl like an older brother and it revealed a cute naughty side of his, and also looked like he was pretty comfortable with her.
Yes, I seen Jay Park on other shows with JH like immortal song and SNL. I was surprise how well JP did with martial arts. It was pretty impressive too. I feel like I see a new side of JH each time I watch a variety show and it's cute to see naughty side too .

Haha I was hoping you do the hairflip gif. Maybe he also heard the diva comment in regards to jacket. I think we can easily make a mv about it with some music.
He definitely have some elements of it and if we go by definition a self-important person who is temperamental and difficult to please.
-The coat, the way he just put on and take off his glasses, how there is wind in his hair, the way he sits like a boss, fear in people's eyes, and how they report to him on both sides.
