Eek, don't sterilise until 6 months? The Cat Haven sterilised our kitty at 3 and a half months or so. They said it doesn't make much difference but it's better to get it done earlier, hmm. He also started getting vaccinated at 3 months I think.

Does anyone know any products that get rid of oily-greasy feeling on laminated hard wood floors from dog urine? If possible, it'd be nice to get help from personal experience. Thanks in advance! =)

I got a kitten from a friend, he's three weeks old. How much & at what age should I get him neutered? And also how much are shots and what age should he get them? I know NOTHING about cats so lots of help on everything would be nice! Ex;what kind of homemade food they can have, if I should clip his nails etc haha Thanks in advance!

I had my kitty neutered at 9 months, but I think from 6 months on, it should be okay. You should get your kitty to the vet and he can advise you on how to care for it. Feeding-wise, you should look for wet food especially for kittens - get quality food, not the supermarket kind (and please avoid Science Diet). Feeding should be in small portions, about 4-5 times a day, as kittens don't have big stomachs. Also, fresh water should be provided at all times.

Leave kitty's nails alone.

They need to be 8 weeks. I just got my 9 week kitten spayed yesterday and I have a 5 week kitten that I am waiting to neuter at the end of this month.

Three weeks old is very young to be taken away from the mother! Try feeding him high quality kitten canned foods 3-5 times a day. As much as he can eat in one sitting. I feed my kittens Wellness, but Blue Buffalo, and Innova are good too. Keep a bowl of dry food out at all times because cats are grazers and will eat when they feel like it.

They can start getting the distemper vaccines at 6wks-8wks but it is a 3 shot series so you need to take them back to the vet to get the 2nd and 3rd shots. Cats cannot eat chocolate or anything with onions or garlic. Salt is also bad for them. You can cook them chicken, turkey or lamb with brown rice. For more info, Google "Raw Feeding cats". And I would suggest clipping his nails. You can use regular people nail clippers. When he's asleep gently press on his paw and his nail will retract. Clip just the tip off. If you clip too much off, his finger will bleed.

Yeah i don't have a dog or a cat...but i do have a pet FISH! And he's totally awesome! *___* It's a Red Blood Parrot and it's so funny because it actually notices people outside of the fish tank. Like if you go up to the tank, he will swim over to you and will stare at you. He's really kinda big, so my family calls him Fat Boy LOL. My family just keeps the tank inside our family restaurant. There are other fish in the tank but they aren't worth mentioning. The other fish all have battles in the tank but Fat Boy just chills in one spot. Usually fishes swim back and forth through the tank, but for some reason my fish all just stay in one spot and they don't really swim around. It's strange but kinda unique to me.

I used to have an Arowana, named Bruce Lee, in the tank too, but he died >.< He was getting really big too, about arms length. The water heater broke and yeah...he died from shock i guess.

Another note, i really want a Samoyed! They're so fluffy and white! *__*

mine has severe seperation anxiety. He has to follow me every where. I tried breaking the habit but he would pee or poo himself.

And to people who want to feed their pets homemade food. (since industrial food is often no good)

Brown rice and potatoes (especially good for dogs that gain weight easily, since they keep the hunger away)

barley, buckwheat and millet

meat (any meat is good! petshops often sell meat especially for dogs, which is usually cheaper) (the food should contain enough meat! at least 1/3!)

vegetables (carrots/pies/cauliflower.. vegetables should be smashed or sliced into really small pieces, cause canine digestion can't use vegetables effectively)

Easiest is to just cook rice and mix in meat and for example carrots. With barley, buckwheat and millet you can make kind of porridge and then mix the meat in.

Dogs can eat either raw or cooked meat (of course check that the meat is clean if given raw). But if your dog has never eaten raw meat before, let him get usen to it slowly.

Garlic is super good for dogs, so you can add it to their foods. Onions should not be fed to dogs.

(You can also add seaweed etc. if your dog likes them) :)

Thank you! Im going to try adding potatoes to ones i make for my dog.

<!--quoteo(post=5393476:date=Apr 1 2007, 09:09 PM:name=Malice_Kaiser)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Malice_Kaiser @ Apr 1 2007, 09:09 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I have a question for cat owners!

One of my cats has been acting really weirdly lately.

This is how it usually goes: Usually he's in my bedroom hanging out. I'll just be laying on my bed petting him, and he'll be fine and purring and all. But sometimes, all of the sudden he'll just get up, stick his face near mine, and start meowing REALLY loudly and obnoxiously. And his pupils will get all wide. He just keeps meowing, you'd think he was dying or something.

And sometimes he'll stop meowing and just do that "kneading dough" thing for a REALLY long time. Usually cats do it before they lie down so they can get comfy, but he just keeps going. Then when I try to touch him either to pet him or pick him up, he starts meowing again and tries to bite me.

It's soooo weird. When I leave him alone for a while he'll go back to normal. I dunno why he does it~ <img src="http://cdn.vanillaforums.com/soompi.vanillaforums.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ph34r:" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Has your cat been neutered? My cat hasn't (he's an indoor cat and is afraid of outside <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />) and he does that sometimes when he's in heat...Maybe he's in heat? lol I don't know

I do think he's in heat. My cat also used to do this once in a while before we got her spayed. If you don't want him neutered, he'll most likely just do it untill you let him go outside or he's no longer in heat(whichever comes first).

I don't think you have to worry. Best wishes to you and the little guy!

Can I have a arctic wolf to be my pet ? I always think to own one when I am still a kid lol !

Are they same as dog ? obey your command ? will they be able to survive in the place that not as cool as arctic ?

If you plan on heading to the arctic in sub-zero temperature to pick one up, bring me back a souvenir.

If you're being serious, no. These wolves live in extremely harsh conditions and almost never encounter humans. I would assume any contact would be cut short with your head in its stomach.

Hey guys, i need a little input!

I have a 6 month old Japanese Spitz, and when i take him for walks, he absolutely flips when he hears other dogs barking at him.

He walks perfectly fine on his leash, but whenever another dog barks at him he tugs so hard at the leash to try and run away! (Doesn't help that the dogs that bark at him always seem to be 3 times his size) And i end up having to walk/jog faster cos im scared his collar will choke him ):

How can i calm him down/get him used to it? I've read somewhere that i shouldn't try and console him cos it will further encourage him to act that way whenever a dog barks at him.

He has a pretty timid personality; he's really cautious around strangers, but its not severe - he ends up warming up to them after a few minutes. He's also pretty scared of motorbikes haha.

Is it normal behaviour for him to go nuts when another dog barks at him?

What should i do to correct/improve this behaviour?

Thanks in advance!

I started giving my dog vitamins... right now I'm trying out Pet Tabs because it's one of the more popular brands and to be honest... I was really lazy when I was doing my research and just settled for that :X

I think it's giving my dog constipation. Actually, I don't know what's wrong with him right now.

His little body is very tense and he remains in a sitting upright position. If I try to stretch him out or pick him up, he yelps in pain and then curls up again. I'm really worried.

His hind legs are also trembling and I don't know... all of this happened out of nowhere.
