Girls’ Generation’s Yuri and Jung Il Woo’s upcoming drama “Good Job” (literal title) will be moving forward with a new director.

 

On July 20, the producers of the new ENA drama “Good Job” officially announced that Ryu Seung Jin would no longer be directing the production—and that he had been replaced by director Kang Min Goo.

 

The producers also shut down rumors that the change was due to conflict between the director and the actors, explaining that Ryu Seung Jin would still be working on the script in a new role as creator of the drama.

 

Notably, “Good Job” will mark the highly-anticipated reunion of “Bossam: Steal the Fate” co-stars Yuri and Jung Il Woo, whose previous drama set a new record for the highest drama ratings in MBN history.

The “Good Job” production team’s full statement is as follows:

Hello, this is the production team of the new ENA Wednesday-Thursday drama “Good Job.”

We are making a statement regarding the article that was published today about the change in [our drama’s] director.

In order to improve the overall quality of our drama, director Ryu Seung Jin will be changing positions to “creator” and working on the script. This decision was made after plenty of discussion, and it was not due to conflict with the actors, as was previously reported.

Therefore, Kang Min Goo has newly joined the project as director and is currently leading the filming set. The cast and the crew will all work hard and do their utmost in order to bring viewers a great drama.

Thank you.

“Good Job” is currently slated to premiere in the second half of 2022.

On August 12, Jung Il Woo revealed on Instagram Stories that child actor Go Dong Ha had sent a coffee truck to the set of his and Yuri’s upcoming drama “Good Job.” The three of them had previously worked together in “Bossam: Steal the Fate,” a romance historical drama about a mysterious rogue named Ba Woo (Jung Il Woo) who accidentally kidnaps Princess Soo Kyung (Yuri), the widowed daughter of King Gwanghae. In the series, Go Dong Ha had played Ba Woo’s son Cha Dol, who treated Soo Kyung like his real mother.

 

Jung Il Woo shared photos of him and Yuri posing next to Go Dong Ha’s coffee truck. One banner reads, “I’m rooting for Jung Il Woo, Kwon Yuri, and the director and staff of ‘Good Job’!!” Another banner uses “bossam” as a pun, and it reads, “I’ve bossamed (kidnapped) refreshing coffee ice cream. Jung Il Woo has spoke about his transformation in the upcoming drama “Good Job”!

 

ENA’s “Good Job” is a mystery drama that follows the romance between chaebol Eun Sun Woo (Jung Il Woo), who leads a second life as a detective, and Don Se Ra (Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri), a woman with super vision.

 

Eun Sun Woo leads a charming double life and looks to be a perfect man who has good looks and is smart, athletic, and good at fighting. When asked why he chose to star in “Good Job,” Jung Il Woo shared, “I was drawn to the new genre of mixing in romance to a mystery drama.”

 

He continued, “It was also charming that through the character of Eun Sun Woo, who lives a double life by crossing over as a chaebol and a detective, I would be able to showcase a colorful image instead of a typical chaebol role.”

 

 

Jung Il Woo elaborated on his role, calling Eun Sun Woo a “narcissistic tsundere.” He explained, “Eun Sun Woo is a perfect man who has wealth, skill, and good looks. If there’s something he lacks, it’s humility. It’s to the point where he looks at the best detective Sherlock Holmes and says, ‘Besides being a bit more famous than me, he can’t compare to my looks, personality, or fortune.'”

 

He added, “Although Sun Woo appears arrogant and cold, once you get to know him, he has a sweet heart and the charm of being tough on the outside, but soft on the inside.”

Regarding his preparations to essentially play two different roles, Jung Il Woo shared, “In order to showcase two different images with one character, I focused a lot on visuals. I tried to express chaebol Sun Woo as a ‘young boss’ who is competent and a trendsetter. When he’s a detective, he gets in disguise often so I paid a lot of attention to showing a very unconventional image. Also, after getting in disguise, I worked really hard to showcase acting that suit the character in disguise.”

Eum Moon Suk will be playing the role of Yang Jin Mo, Eun Sun Woo’s longtime best friend and the only one who knows about his secret double life. ENA has released a funny main teaser for “Good Job”!

 

“Good Job” is a mystery drama that follows the romance between chaebol Eun Sun Woo (Jung Il Woo), who leads a second life as a detective, and Don Se Ra (Girls’ Generation’s Yuri), a woman with super vision.

 

The new main teaser gives an in-depth introduction of the main characters. Starting with the bold and confident Eun Sun Woo, he nonchalantly asks, “If you convert my time into money, do you know how much that would be?” No matter where he goes, the floor is Eun Sun Woo’s runway, and as he enters a mysterious hallway, he starts transforming from a proper chaebol to an elite detective in disguise.

 

Don Se Ra then makes a dramatic entrance as she says, “You can deceive ghosts but you can’t deceive my eyes.” She has the ability to zoom in on things in the distance, seeing them as if they were right in front of her eyes. Eun Sun Woo comments in shock, “Are you some kind of eagle? Ostrich? Or are you a human telescope?” Don Se Ra replies, “To be exact, it’s super vision.”

 

Last up is Eum Moon Suk as Yang Jin Mo, Eun Sun Woo’s longtime best friend and the only person who knows about his secret double life. He introduces himself saying, “I’m Yang Jin Mo, a direct attorney for Eunkang Group’s president Eun Sun Woo.” However, the teaser shows that he’s more than just a lawyer as he shows off his skill with computers and other detective work. This makes Don Se Ra comment, “Different from what you look like, you’re quite skilled.”

 

The three talented characters come together as one investigation team but end up running into more problems than expected. Later, Eun Sun Woo and Don Se Ra are caught in a heart-fluttering moment when they fall over with their hands tied together. Without thinking, Eun Sun Woo comments, “The only thing we can move right now is our lips, so…” before looking up and locking eyes with Don Se Ra.

 

As the investigation gets more heated, the trio must overcome various obstacles. After confidently taking out an opponent, Eun Sun Woo warns everyone, “Remember this. If you don’t keep your promise, I will find you no matter where you are, just like right now.”

“Good Job” is a mystery romance drama that marks the highly-anticipated reunion of “Bossam: Steal the Fate” stars Jung Il Woo and Girls’ Generation’s Yuri.

 

The newly released posters introduce the drama’s colorful cast of characters—as well as the surprising secrets each of them is hiding.

 

Jung Il Woo oozes confidence as the sharply dressed Eun Sun Woo, a chaebol heir who dons a wide variety of outfits in order to lead a double life as a detective. Smirking at the camera, he asks challengingly, “Can’t a chaebol be a detective?”

 

 

Yuri’s character Don Se Ra, a woman who secretly possesses superhuman vision, is just as self-assured. After taking off the glasses that she wears as a disguise, she declares with her arms crossed, “No matter how much you try to run, you’re still within my line of vision.”

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri and Jung Il Woo will be hosting the 2022 APAN Star Awards!

 

The 2022 APAN Star Awards will be held at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province on September 29. This K-drama festival first started in 2012, and this will mark its eighth anniversary.

 

It has been confirmed that Yuri and Jung Il Woo will be the MCs of this year’s APAN Star Awards. The two actors previously worked together in the hit MBN drama “Bossam: Steal the Fate,” and they are currently filming their new ENA drama “Good Job.” They will show their lovable chemistry once again through this special event.

 

The 2022 APAN Star Awards, which will be held offline for the first time in two years, will be held for all drama content in Korea that aired from March 2021 to July 2022.
