I am enjoying this, but wow, it sure is a giant slice of cheese on top of a pile of sugar. They literally had Ji Chang-wuk singing the title of this song. 

 

I LOL'ed at that through a flood of tears.  I cried the entire time knowing that it's Se-hui's final performance. *sigh* It's just so sad.

 

I think shows like this are just bound to have low ratings, no matter how good and life-affirming they try to be. "The One and Only" scored below 1% ratings throughout most of its run despite being well-written and interesting. It was also set at a hospice for terminal patients, and I think people simply do not want to watch people dying, even if the story is that they achieve that sense of closure and peace before they go.

HAHAHA I enjoy that cheese actually. He does it so well, and well, he does have a good voice. I know some people hate musical numbers, but I think this one was very poignant as it embodied Se Hee's last wish and all she wanted and it had a lot of people involved, everyone who cared about her. What a great tribute!

 

the cheese is necessary to sweeten the otherwise bitter moments, I think. aaaah bittersweet, the best kind of sweetness. 

 

 

 

Now I found out that apparently the name of the Dog was subtitled as Sonny by viu... *sigh*

 

But this scene still stole my heart. From the moment in Ep1 when he tried to walk in the ocean and leave this life to when he still thinks about it, but at least now he doesn't feel alone as his time so far has made a change and he wants to leave his footprint - and he does know that it's a worthwhile cause. He does care.

It’s time for Ji Chang Wook to say goodbye to Team Genie in the upcoming episode of “If You Wish Upon Me”!

 

“If You Wish Upon Me” is a KBS drama inspired by an actual organization in the Netherlands that fulfills the wishes of terminal cancer patients. Ji Chang Wook stars as Yoon Gyeo Re, a man who has been pushed to his limits by a difficult life full of struggles. However, when he winds up having to volunteer at a hospice, he finds his life changing in unexpected ways while helping to make the patients’ wishes come true.

 

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung stars in the drama as Seo Yeon Joo, a tough and cheerful nurse at the hospice who is obsessed with exercise, while Sung Dong Il plays Kang Tae Shik, the volunteer chief of Team Genie.

Previously, Yoon Gyeo Re expressed his distrust towards Kang Tae Shik because he saw the older man receive money from a patient’s family and get involved in a fight with gangsters. On the other hand, Kang Tae Shik tried to keep Yoon Gyeo Re by his side, and he even wondered if telling the truth about their secret connection would do the trick.

 

On August 30, the drama shared stills of Yoon Gyeo Re’s farewell party. The members of Team Genie hold a small celebration for him as his community service hours are up. Yoon Gyeo Re is flustered by the unexpected gesture, and his expression is filled with disappointment, piquing curiosity about how he truly feels about leaving the hospice. Seo Yeon Joo, who straightforwardly expressed her feelings for Yoon Gyeo Re, looks at him with a gloomy expression. Kang Tae Shik, Yeom Soon Ja (Yang Hee Kyung), and Choi Duk Ja (Gil Hae Yeon) previously expressed their desire for him to remain on the team, drawing keen attention to what choice he will make.
