EXO’s Suho And Ha Yeon Soo Show Funny Chemistry In Teasers For “Rich Man, Poor Woman”

Upcoming drama “Rich Man, Poor Woman” has released teaser clips for EXO’s Suho and actress Ha Yeon Soo.

A remake of a hugely popular Japanese romantic comedy of the same title, the drama follows the relationship between a genius businessman with face blindness (prosopagnosia) and an energetic job-seeker with an extraordinary memory. Suho plays the role of brilliant yet reckless CEO Lee Yoo Chan while Ha Yeon Soo plays Bo Ra, an enthusiastic woman looking for a job.

The teaser clip for Suho begins with the actor coming to work riding a motorbike. As he strides confidently into the building with a smirk, the words “A man who’s 99 percent perfect. The one percent he lacks” appear on the screen followed by Suho’s line, “No such thing.” The words “Manners” immediately pop up next, highlighting Lee Yoo Chan’s arrogance.

Spoiler

The video goes on to introduce Lee Yoo Chan’s face blindness. “I can’t remember anyone’s faces when I close my eyes. They all look the same to me,” Suho says. Ha Yeon Soo also says, “He can’t possibly remember me.”

On the other hand, Ha Yeon Soo’s teaser clip shows the adorable, innocent character of Bo Ra. Suho asks Ha Yeon Soo, “Miss Kim Bo Ra, how much do you cost for a day?” Her funny surprised reactions hints at the light-hearted nature of the drama.

Spoiler

The words “Unspeakable secret” then appear on the screen. Ha Yeon Soo quietly whispers, “It’s all right. He can’t possibly remember me.” Suho’s voice is heard saying, “You don’t have to say you know me first, I’ll recognize you with this.”

EXO’s Suho And Ha Yeon Soo Hint At Their Fated Romance In “Rich Man, Poor Woman” Preview

“Rich Man, Poor Woman” is a remake of the Japanese drama of the same title. This romantic comedy will tell the story of the genius CEO of an IT company named Lee Yoo Chan (played by EXO’s Suho) and an energetic job seeker with impressive memory named Kim Bo Ra (played by Ha Yeon Soo).

Despite his seemingly perfect appearance, Lee Yoo Chan suffers from prosopagnosia, or the inability to recognize people’s faces. The new preview starts with Suho arriving in front of a building on a motorcycle. After checking himself out in the mirror, he strides into the building with a smile and boasts about his innate skills.

Ha Yeon Soo appears and confidently introduces herself at what looks like a job interview. She lists her good memory as her greatest strength before a woman interjects and corrects her that she’s actually the best at being annoyingly hard-working. She then runs into Suho in the lobby and covers her mouth with her hand in shock. In a voiceover, she says, “I know this person,” then adds, “Fine. I’m going to dream. This is an opportunity.”

In contrast to his smug appearance at the beginning, Suho looks puzzled and sad as he sits up in his bed in a different scene. He asks, “Can someone completely disappear from this world?” as he refreshes his phone searching for a name.

The preview also hints at the two characters’ possible past and shows Suho picking out a necklace, stating, “I’m going to recognize you with this. I thought about you every day so that I wouldn’t forget you.”

When he spots the necklace on Ha Yeon Soo in the elevator in what appears to be present-day, he tugs her close and asks, “Who are you?”

“Rich Man, Poor Woman” will premiere on May 9 at 11 p.m. KST and will be available exclusively on Viki!

Spoiler

I hope people don't compare it too much with the Jdrama as this is a Kdrama version, and the two audiences are quite different :)

“Rich Man, Poor Woman” Gives In-Depth Look At 4 Main Characters

RIch-Man-Poor-Woman1.jpg

Upcoming drama “Rich Man, Poor Woman” has released a teaser taking a deeper look at its four main characters. “Rich Man, Poor Woman” is a remake of the popular 2012 Japanese romantic comedy about a genius CEO with prosopagnosia (inability to recognize faces) and an optimistic woman with an extraordinary memory.

Lee Yoo Chan (played by EXO’s Suho) is the CEO of the successful IT company Next In. He believes that he was born with innate skills that made him successful and is always confident and frank. The teaser introduces “genius CEO Lee Yoo Chan” as “audacious, rude, and cold.” He’s a free-spirited CEO who is 29 years old and has personal wealth of 300 billion won (approximately $279.7 million).

In a recruitment video, he urges, “Dream. Next In is in need of people like you who dream.” He’s, however, much more realistic in real life and tells people that “bigger the dream, higher you fall.”

Spoiler

One of those dreamers is Kim Bo Ra (played by Ha Yeon Soo) who is working hard to find employment. She’s all smiles until she walks into Next In and says “I know this person” and covers her mouth in shock.

The video calls her “AlphaGo level memory king Kim Bo Ra” and describes her as an “endlessly optimistic job seeker.” She gets hired as a Next In employee for four days and is tasked with memorizing various material.

She doesn’t become deterred by these challenges and takes them on. To her surprise, Lee Yoo Chan introduces her as a security team leader from Beijing to the other employees, where she runs into a helpful gentleman once again.

Spoiler

The helpful gentleman is Min Tae Joo (played by Oh Chang Suk), the co-founder of Next In. He’s a “smooth, gentle perfectionist” who treats Kim Bo Ra with kindness. They first met outside when he suggested that she apply to Next In without revealing his true identity.

He welcomes her to the company and praises her work ethic. The two get closer as they eat and hang out together outside of work.

Extending her hand, the fourth and final character greets Lee Yoo Chan. Min Tae Ra (played by Kim Ye Won) is the younger sister of Min Tae Joo. She asks the CEO if he remembers her, and when he doesn’t seem to have any recollection of her, she isn’t afraid to insult his memory.

She tells him that he helped her when her car broke down on her way to the airport six years ago. He has no reaction until she says, “I missed my flight and we slept together that night.” She leans forward to kiss him, which is witnessed by Min Tae Joo and Kim Bo Ra.

Spoiler

Lee Yoo Chan and Kim Bo Ra seem to get closer until he spots her necklace. He questions her then angrily tells her to never appear in front of him again.

It turns out, he has been searching for his first love named Kim Boon Hong. He says he still clearly remembers her face and thought of her every day in order to not forget it. Min Tae Joo also takes Kim Bo Ra aside and asks her to not say anything about Kim Boon Hong.

Min Tae Joo asks her, “You know who Kim Boon Hong is, don’t you? Why did she say she was Kim Boon Hong when she isn’t?” Lee Yoo Chan asks, “What are you?” and Kim Bo Ra tells herself, “It’s okay. There’s no way he’ll recognize me.”

Spoiler

Who is Kim Boon Hong and what will happen to these four characters? Find out when “Rich Man, Poor Woman” premieres on May 9 at 11 p.m. KST

So from what i got from that extended preview, she lied saying she was kim boon hong? Anyway, Suho must have found the fountain of youth lol he still looks younger than his age. i know he's 28 this year in korean age and the character is supposed to be 29 in korea.

Since its a remake from Jdrama, i dont think age matters the most, Cause 28-29 age gap, it's not much different.

Honestly, Suho is one of my bias, among EXO members, so i could tell he looks pretty matured to have a lead role in any Kdrama. Plus he can be eye candy for his fans as well LOL. And, he also might be enlisted in the army next year. :)

Oh what i meant was that he's actually the right/same age as the character, but to me he looks younger than that, he doesn't look like a few years shy of 30. Although of course he does look the right age to play lead characters already. I like super leader hyung too. :)
