I've been here at this thread since the drama aired, I don't think anyone has discredited Yoo Jung's acting capabilities or contributions. However, if you venture into other threads like individual threads then, be prepared for different opinions, which shouldn't be surprising. I keep seeing fans emphasize that Bo Gum is receiving the majority of praises, but I see different. There are a lot of Yoo Jung supporters that are very vocal as well.

I sort of wished the PD would have just let it be. Even if Bo Gum, in his judgment, struggled with Lee Yeong in the beginning, it would have been interesting to see the visible transitions. I'm a firm believer that constructive criticism will light one's path towards a brighter and more fulfilling journey. There is always room to improve and there's no shame in that.

I think it's very normal for actors or actresses to be "perceived" as weaker or odd in the beginning. I mean, all of the characters are pretty unpredictable especially if the drama is being filmed and aired at the same time, which means, the script is still changing and being written as Lee Yeong lives his life on television. Even if we had the most accredited and critically acclaimed actor play Lee Yeong, it doesn't make it any easier to predict who Lee Yeong would have become in Episode 14 just from watching Episodes 1 and 2. As each episode is filmed, the character Lee Yeong solidifies as Lee Yeong constantly finds his identity with the new situations and circumstances he's confronted with. Even within the storyline itself, Lee Yeong changes when he falls in love, so I think having small hiccups in the beginning would have shown a more human and realistic image of Bo Gum as Lee Yeong, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But that's how I see it, though.

I like fresh meat. Sometimes, fresh meat ends up acting better or delivering a more memorable performance because they're so raw and pure in their acting. That's how I see Bo Gum.

The PD on the surface sounds like he doesn't have high expectations but he does, in a way. Lol Well, more like high standards, since he hasn't allowed the story, script, drama, and actors to drag.

HY was the voice of reason last episode, pointing out to the prince the flaws in his character. He was angry and kind of lashes to a person who is in a lower position than him... I can understand why he is mad, but I find it a flaw given the depth of the situation: he is not a simple human being, he is a ruler on whose shoulders rests the fate of the country, or so we are told.

I like that PBG played his anger in a very subdued manner (compared with other male actors who would have trashed the set by now). This shows that he understands that his character is different. and I like that on his first encounter with HY, he also seems to take in her advice about not showing his emotions like he did. I also liked that when HY comes to the garden, he behaves like he did, namely surprised and then angered that he was caught at a very vulnerable moment, he lashes out to HY with anger, and this is is consistent with him being a somewhat spoiled brat, but I do not think that we as viewers should cheer for him. Did you cheer for him when at the beginning he was behaving rudely?

 

All I can say is he is only HUMAN .. he has fllaws ... his character is not the typical King character .. I in fact I think he behaved quite decent compare to some other King ..

He did not mope around .. he continue to 'work' ... I did not see him lashing  anyone except for the remark made by trainee eunuch that CP seem cold ... KING IS SUPPOSE TO BE COLD  ... (watch TMETS) ... watch all sageuk .. 

Picture this you are heart broken .. at the point of losing your mind .. you ministers are all corrupt ... the love of your life could be a traitor ... and she left you without a trace ... and you are force to get married to a girl you don't like and the girl keep on appearing in front of you .. at one time demanding not to ignore her or not to appear gloomy or whatever ... and you been telling her you are not interested and she sort of confessed her feeling despite you told her so many time you are not interested and now she stalk you ... you are trying to be alone ... relax and do a bit of reading and here she come ... with that look .. woho ... 'I-want-you Please-look-at-,me I-am-trying-my-best Please-talk-to-me look ...

Episodes 13 and 14 were very emotional and really captured the love of LY and RO. They do a very good job of building up Monday episodes and follow with the more dramatic episode on Tuesdays.

The cast is doing so well. I'm in awe of PBG and KYJ. They nailed the feelings of longing and heartbreak. We could feel how much they missed eachother. The relationship has become much more romantic and if you're like me thinking throughout last week's episodes that they need to be together, then you know that chemistry is gold. I understand now why the media said YoungOn couple cannot be separated. It feels complete when they are side by side.

Also I like how their relationship showed growth and for the characters too. First they bickered, but then they became friends, and by now they love each other so much, they want to know how or what the other is doing naturally.

I like the more intimate moments between them. I'm moved by their quiet scenes together. Like the kiss scene in bed really felt like two lovers. I get why LY wanted to keep the garden to himself because it's where he shared special moments with RO. The library too is where they're around each other a lot. Even when they just look at one another for a long time, you feel the sense that they want it to always be that way. It's like magic when they're together.

Maybe you can say that I overemphasize the CP's anger towards HY. But it is relevant that people in the palace start to complain that the CP returned to his old habits. Since I was interested in how people perceived HY, her being criticized for what seems to me to be a fault in CP's character is strange.

I love the discussions. However, there is a huge margin between being rude and drawing the line. LY was simply drawing the line before the wedding, so HY doesn't misunderstand her role as a business partner, not beloved wife. There is no wrong in that. I admire LY for being entirely honest and upfront with HY.

Actually, what I learned in life is, we shouldn't expect people to change. People change when the right time comes and at their own pace. Forcing change prematurely only hurts the one expecting it, so we should just forgive and move on with the flow.

Haha, this surprises me because I didn't think LY's honesty would have spiraled into beastly behavior, spoiled brat, unfit to be king, and blamed for Premier Kim's future evil doings. I guess, we all really have different opinions.

HY should understand best. Like HY said to the King, love will make her patient and sacrifice herself for LY. Well, LY doesn't love HY, so he has no patience for her and definitely, will not care to sacrifice his time for her either. Lol

And this is also the first thread that I put more dedication to follow so I'm newbie here. As someone who have more experience in many thread does this kind of phenomenom always occure like a ruckus create follow with stranger in the thread? just like in the past when people debate about KYJ cry scene. I even got message from someone to delete my post for the sake of our OTP (I disagree their opinion about KYJ). As far as I have time to follow this thread I don't see that person anymore after that message. If it's always happen in a thread then wow people these days surely like being complicated

• I think it’s better to not having heavy melo scene~ The whole drama feels so fresh. The state now is something that perfect for that age (of character). Trembling, shy, fresh feels because of the first love come to life really well. On the contrary if there’s heavy love scene, I think it would be strange
• Yoojungie is playing Raon who is a teenager, if it’s become an adult role isn’t it doesn’t match and doesn’t make sense? Just like what Yoojung has been portrayed so far that role is fresh, lovely, but also sorrowful. I think it would be difficult for an actress in her 20s to express that kind of feeling. Kim Yoo Jung-yang has exceeded expectations.
• Yoojungie can pull of Raon’s charms very well. It’s difficult to imagine someone else as Raon if it’s not Yoojung... Her acting is really good
• If it’s not Actress Yoojung, I can’t imagine someone else as Raon. Keep strong and healthy for the rest of filming
• I can’t imagine anyone else but Kim Yoo Jung as Raon, she’s really good. Of course Park Bo Gum is great, but if the female lead is strange, the character will come to life lesser. Both of them really have wonderful harmony in acting. 
• If Raon is not Kim Yoo Jung, Gurumi wouldn’t do this well. Chemistry between male and female lead is important.

• I’m really thankful for Kim Yoo Jung’s casting. Moonlight exist because there’s Yoojung and Bogum. I’m looking forward more and more to both actors

Just watched ep 14. The feel!! When CP tried to wrest that bangle from his wrist, I feel like he trying his darnest to wrest her from his heart. But  to no avail. There is no denying she is deeply entrenched in his heart..heck she is part of him. She is his whole world. The helplessness that he felt, the hurt from a broken promise and he is missing her so much despite all that.  I was crying so hard along with him 

Then I was crying as hard when Ra On cried her heart out by that lake. It was beautiful that scene I admit. And I cried too for YS who was trying to be the pillar of support for Ra On in spite of the hurt that he must felt deep inside. It must hurt him to see her pinning for CP. But he kept all to himself becoz its not her fault she does not return his love. He understood that fundamental fact. Ra On well-being comes first before his.   

And poor BY who is now caught in the middle between the rebel and his friendship with CP and Ra On. He is walking on thin ice. I don't want anything bad to happen to my favorite bodyguard.

HY oh HY. I guess you want to own him. Are you thinking of using your position as the crown princess later to will him to your side and to shove your competitor off from his life? And Ra On..why oh why you told HY she is a perfect for him. You knew CP has eyes only for you!! I wonder how HY gonna take it when she discovered the person to whom she talked about her feeling for CP  is that other woman in CP's life.

I just read the translation of the PD interview in Chinese (Baidu). In it, someone there commented that there were no mention of PBG is a must-have due to investment in the original report in Korean...    maybe it helps if anyone here who could read Korean can verify that?
