Sypnosis：

Xia You Qian (Jasper Liu) is the total package. He’s good-looking, a highly successful head of a private equity company and well liked by everyone around him. Even competitors like Hu Yan Ze (Jet Chao) can’t help but respect him and wealthy socialites like Hu Yong Qing (Ivy Shao) are in love with him. But You Qian also has the keen ability to make accurate assessments about people at first sight using his strong observational skills. When You Qian and his grandfather are invited to Pu Lang village to judge a competition, he runs into An Xi (Mandy Wei), a woman who was responsible for You Qian nearly losing his life 10 years ago. I'm gonna miss Jasper's fringe but with his hair up, he'll look more mature. Not sure about the pairing yet but I heard that the production company is the same as Pleasantly Surprised, so I'm hoping it won't go the makjang route. I like Mandy's looks, she's very pretty but her last 2 dramas weren't my cup of tea so I wasn't really drawn to her roles. But the chemistry between her and Jasper look pretty promising based on these visual shooting BTS,

Checked out the producer list and it's the same producer as Pleasantly Surprised, the director directed Love Around. But I'm more curious about who is the scriptwriter.

(Actually just some highlights of yesterday's press event and also a new interview footage of them sitting down together.)

There's a few cute moments between them.

When Mandy was asked what is her first impression of Jasper, she was about to reply, "he's cute" but Jasper suddenly cuts in, jokingly boasting himself as "Very manly.", making the press people laugh at his comment. However, soon he laughs and adds on that "I misunderstood myself" (as a manly guy), ha! Why so cute?

In the later part of the video, when the two leads are sitting down for press interview, Mandy keeps on praising Jasper for his great body proportion (eg: having a small face (she said that he've the smallest face among the actors she've seen), tall and slim) and it pressures her a lot, which makes her want to go on diet, then the interviewer ask her how much she weighs, and she immediately goes quiet at that question, facing Jasper to ask for help, Jasper immediately helps her by answering "I weigh about 67,68kg." (lol!!)

They seem to be constantly praising each other, Jasper says that she looks cute with short hair but she looks sexy and pretty with long hair. I guess since they only met once during SETTV drama awards last year before they film this drama, they're not yet close with each other but their interactions seem pretty friendly.

 

On a side note, drama's official facebook page has reached 10,000 fans in just 2 days since they opened the page yesterday!! YAY!

Truthfully, I'm not sure how this drama will fare in rating as over the recent years, Sunday drama audience seem to prefer makjang and melo stuffs.

Eg: Deja Vu and second half of Fall in Love With Me (where they started going for the makjang route) has pretty high ratings, but Say Again Yes I do scores pretty low rating for a Sunday drama, Someone Like You is also pretty high rated since they're a melo drama..

I'm now really looking forward to this drama since Jasper reposted my Instagram picture of him and Mandy on his account ---haha, sudden motivation to watch his drama--- But I really hope that this drama will be fun and upbeat....no melodrama :s I could live with it in a few episodes in PS, but only because the cast were so awesome and entertaining in the BTS and on Instagram...and because they did eventually fix it up (although a bit too late in the series to save ratings and have a spectacular ending. I say this though I did like the show). But I can't take much more melodrama than that. The melodramatic angst and stuff in dramas like Starlit and Someone Like You really, really makes me feel bored, though I understand that some audiences really lap up that angst and it boosts ratings.

So far though, I think the storyline for 他看她的第2眼 reminds me a lot of the Rainie and Show Luo drama "Hi My Sweetheart!"...I'm hoping it'll be a little less silly in it's comic elements...but still be very funny with good cast chemistry! I might be expecting a bit much with SETTV script-writing, but fingers crossed!

​Yeah!! Hi My Sweetheart also comes to my mind when I first heard of the premise and also a little bit of 大野狼小紅帽 Big red riding hood. But one thing for sure, this won't be a melo (judging from the posters and the plot) so I'm at ease about that at least. I'm hoping SETTV also fix up the lightings for this drama, like what they did for Murphy's law of love and not use Pleasantly Surprised's harsh lighting (it turned for the worse when they changed director and made Jasper look sooo tanned!).

But My sweetheart's main guy is not ugly, he's just nerdy but the plot describes Jasper's character to be a unibrow guy - lol.... that should be pretty ugly in a funny way. Anyways, I'll keep my fingers crossed until the first teaser is out.

Honestly, I'm not putting my hopes up for SETTV drama, i'm just praying for it to be decent, that's the least they can do T_T Even if the plot is worse than what I expected, I'm hoping they'll at least fix the lighting and make their skin look fairer so at least the cinematography won't hurt my eyes. It's fine if there's no plot but they should at least give me the eye-candy then... lol

Yeah, the lighting in Murphy's Law of Love is better, though sometimes I still feel like it's still a little off, a little dull in colour? But it could just be my laptop... Haha, I bet Jasper would love this dressing up as a uni-brow guy! It seems like something he'd have fun doing...I hope it's not too scary...please no epic warts or anything! I agree with you - if the storyline is lacking...at least give us some eyecandy

Ivy Shao is seriously so cute, she used to pair up with Jasper in Confucius (high school drama) during their debut days. It's a pity that she's playing second lead here. I would want to see her to be with Jasper again someday.

Jet Chao's suit look familiar, I think Jasper wore something like that before (grandpa suit) lol! But he looks great actually.

Speaking of topless... this is the one that caught my attention. I'm not the type to drool over bare bodies but his look damn fine.

Their high school past look interesting too! Mandy seriously look sooooooo pretty in high school uniform.

 

I don't think this uglified version is THAT ugly, it's just a change of hairstyle + unibrow + some pimples makeup on him.
People will still recognize Jasper like this, ha! But I guess if he becomes too ugly in the past, it will be pretty unnatural (like how the hell did he become handsome so suddenly? haha! People might think he went through plastic surgery :p)

Jasper sent a video message to the cast of Someone Like You in today's fanmeeting. (starting from 21/22++min mark)

So funny! Jasper accidentally misreads the title of Someone Like You  - "聽見他的幸福" and annoys Kingone, lol...
Kingone Wang funnily gets angry when he hears the fans scream even before Jasper's video appeared, "Are you guys fans of the next drama? Get out!" LOL........ He's such a funny guy.

He also left a message to Sean Lee (Chief of Pleasantly Surprised) to help promote When I See You Again, he was saying, "I heard you were promoted from Chief Chef to become a manager of a shopping mall?" LOL......

It's such a coincidence that RongRong's IAGW continues with Pleasantly Surprised and now, WISA takes over Someone Like You. Jasper and RongRong will be a pairing I want to see.
