@chasen8888, I also want to thank you for your time and witticisms! You were the last thing I read before going to bed every night. It was like I couldn't go to sleep unless I knew what your thoughts were. I totally agree, that this forum has/was the most civil I've been in. There has been a few others but when it came to respecting others opinions, we did a great job, even when we disagreed, we did it with respect. I wish there could have been closure in this drama also; hell 2 more episodes would have been satisfying. But overall, this drama has been a new experience for me. Why? I don't think I've ever re-watched so many episodes in the same drama before; pushed other dramas to the side, and have been so totally vested in the story. I so look forward to this writer and seeing some of you in the other forums soon. I've officially have been spoiled by this drama! I'll never watch another drama the same, especially a sageuk!

All of these goodbyes are seriously making me mourn the end of this forum like the end of a relationship! (Except this is an extremely gracious breakup, wish the real ones were so:-)

...wonderful. I just realized from watching the episodes from the beginning how lovable FK was. He might have done some foolish things and made some bad decisions, but he was a good mentor to CP and loved him so that he was willing to grant SM anything and everything he wanted for CP's life. (Until he knew it involved killing thousands...) So now I'm missing CP, SN, MKC, KBK and FK. Great. Just great. :((

Finished watching SBH and find the ending disappointing. Initially the series was one that is breath-taking but somehow towards the end, it was a bit run-down esp the relationship with CP Myungnong and Seolnan.  Sadly 108 eps which is a long run ends with a bland tone.  When the SBH flowers were blooming and floating everywhere.... Sunimun smile and expression was even so much more heart-filling compared to CP now King Myungnong.  Probably M is not good in expressing himself as compared to Sunimun.  Felt a bit lost with the ending but thanks to @andy78 for the beautiful photoshop of the King M and Queen S together. Now that would definitely have a perfect ending.
Thanks to all who wrote beautiful synopsis, summary and detailed capture of this series. I really enjoy reading them and actually find all your comments and sharing much more interesting than watching the last part of the series itself.
Have a great journey as you all move on to another new dimension or capture of more k-series.

     After   the      interviews and     fotoshootings after the drama, Seo Hyun Jin      takes part  in an   expedition to  South America  for a show of the broadcaster   SBS .

Brazil  is  the first station.

I'm really missing the interactions in this forum... still checking the posts everyday and still going through the SBH withdrawal.  Your review is just what is needed to remind us why we all love this drama.

I thought the story was a wonderful portrayal of love/jealousy greed/duty to wider community honor/betrayal

Solnan grew from a gauche, naive, playful, energetic, honest young woman into a real royal: wise, disciplined, dignified, strong, honorable,loyal to friends and family, totally committed to her country above all.  In many ways very similar to her two fathers but a less tragic figure than the King - Although his sense of loss allowed him to create the opportunity for her to have the love he never did but she was less blind and stubborn than he was as a young man. Perhaps his sense of duty limited his options but he also brought some of his misery on himself.

Solnan's transformation and maturing was key to this drama  and its appeal for me I never got bored watching her. Other characters were also  well done but she was exceptional
