RECOLLECTING THE ACTION FILMS OF OUR NATION'S SISTERS

There are significant moments when female actors in Korean movies stood out. We have compiled a collection of shining moments when female actors broke the stereotype of Korean cinema by portraying an action role.

Ha Ji-won
( Duelist, Miracle on 1st Street, Korea)

Nam-soon (Ha Ji-won), a female detective from the Joseon Dynasty who wears a topcoat and wears a pencil, meets Sad Eyes (Kang Dong-won) with long hair and fights by pointing swords at each other on a stone wall road. There are only a few lines, only the sound of a sword resounds, but Ha Ji-won, holding a sword in both hands, shows off body movements that are somewhere between martial arts and dance. Flexible and fast movements are a different picture from existing actions. This was the result of learning seonmudo and tango for 'Detective Duelist'.

Ha Ji-won sometimes seemed to dream of becoming a strong female warrior, Sigourney Weaver. “Basically, I ate meat for five or six meals a day to build muscle, and I devoted eight hours a day to weight training. I also learned scooter, bike, pilates, tennis, and swimming even though no one asked me to.”

In the infamous 'Sector 7', she formed a body for the character of a marine storage facility manager. In the drama 'Damo', she honed wire action and rhythmic gymnastics. And when preparing for the character of a boxer in 'Miracle on 1st Street', she was beaten hard from the first day of practice to build up her strength.

After being cast in 'As One: Korea' on the recommendation of table tennis player Hyeon Jeong-hwa, she devoted herself exclusively to table tennis for six months.

Among the characters played by Ha Ji-won, Gil Ra-im, a stunt woman in the drama 'Secret Garden', which we cannot forget , is now synonymous with women who exercise.

Others:

Jun Ji-hyun
(My Sassy Girl, Blood, The Thieves, Assasination, Kindom: Ashin of the North)

Bae Doona
(Monster, Korea, Persona, Sense8)

Moon So-ri
(The Best Moment of Our Life, Spy)

Lee Si-young
(Sister, Sweet Home)

In March of this year, Ha Ji-won started a new career as an artist/painter by exhibiting three pieces of her 'Super Cow' series, during the 'Amulet Exhibition', at 'Signature Kitchen Suite Cheongdam Showroom Atelier' in Seoul. Ha Ji-won's works can now be seen in blockchain technology.

Bitberry Finance, a blockchain specialist, has signed an exclusive right to develop and use NFT for Ha Ji-won's painting work 'GRAVITY' version.

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on blockchain are being applied to various fields and are attracting attention in the digital market. Among them, the reason that the content of 'art' is attracting attention as a new paradigm is that the place of exhibition and sale of works is not limited to offline such as art museums. By applying NFT technology to their works, artists can easily exhibit and sell their works on the online platform, and buyers can purchase and trade not only all of the art, but also a part of the stake as if they were shopping online. It is evaluated that the barriers to entry have been lowered.

Actor Ha Ji-won said, "When I work on a drama or movie, I express myself as someone else, but it's nice to be able to show myself more directly on canvas. I hope it will be an opportunity for us to heal together.” She explained the reason for this contract.

With this, Bitberry Finance plans to make NFTs through VERY Auction, from the souvenirs of professional baseball player Oh Seung-hwan and artist Ki-woong Park, to the artworks of actor Ha Ji-won, and continues to expand the NFT market, which is in its initial stage in Korea.

Monster Cube CEO Yoo Jae-beom, who serves as the chairman of Bitberry Finance, said, “It is an honor to be able to present the work of actor Ha Ji-won, who has successfully started a new life as an artist, through NFT at our ‘Very Auction’. We will continue to discover the works of new artists with potential so that 'Very Auction' will go beyond the leader in the domestic NFT market and move forward as a global platform.”

On the other hand, Bitberry Finance plans to conduct NFTs of various celebrities and sports stars such as KLPGA professional golfers Ga-eun Song and Tae-hoon Lee, and soccer player Ji-seong Park on the NFT platform ‘Very Auction’.
