and yeah, couldn't believe he's in his 30's too.....but then he has always looks younger than his age (except for in AAE i guess :unsure: )...just try and look at his pic in his early 20's...i swear he looks like a 15 year old....soooo cute! :rolleyes:

speaking of the promise and kunlun, just went to a local forum a minute ago, and one forumer was saying dong gun made a bad bad mistake by acting in that movie....they said that movie is so lame that it would tarnish jdg's image as a great actor, eventho he played kunlun very very well there.... :tears: ...so sad ...is the movie really that bad??

speaking of the promise and kunlun, just went to a local forum a minute ago, and one forumer was saying dong gun made a bad bad mistake by acting in that movie....they said that movie is so lame that it would tarnish jdg's image as a great actor, eventho he played kunlun very very well there.... :tears: ...so sad ...is the movie really that bad??

Yeah, reading or coming across negative reviews of the film has about driven me up the wall lately! They've been sooooooooo not fair, I thought, but they're entitled to their opinions, I guess! Nevertheless, I've resolved to stay away from any reviews or write-ups about the film until I've seen it myself! That being said, I did read LA Times' review of it, posted by dreamer at his english forum board, and what do u know, ruffie, it was a rave! :w00t: The critic was jut beside himself, totally in awe of the movie, says it deserves its nomination to the Oscars! B) And inez maman and Azura can confirm- about the only 2 persons whose opinion I give much weight! ;) And yours too, of course, ruffie, and TY, and Marchy, and iks, and ILK, and ella, well just everybody in this thread! :lol:

Yep..JDG is an outstanding actor but to say he made a mistake to do The Promise ..well one is entitled to one's opinion..still i personally think he is the only one shines in that movie too. I heard or presume he will be doing another Chinese movie..i might be wrong..! but i think he only wants to spread his wings and venture out alittle bit..!..i will definitely watch any thing he's in..!!.. I read Typhoon will reach our shores in Late February..i am still clinging on tiny dreams/hope that he will do a Premiere here!! :P ..or at least visit Malaysia n Indonesia to promote!! :rolleyes: ..Wonder what his next project will be???..he mentioned about doing a 'heart-warming' role next....*sighs*..i am all hot n bothered now... :sweatingbullets::P

^^That's so true, maman! I mean people have different reasons for seeing the film, but as far as we are concerned, is there any doubt about our reason for going? Only a fool wouldn't know, and as u and ruff maintain, only great minds are in this thread, so no need to even think! :lol: Oh my, might be in for a beating with that statement, but still....anyway, somebody posted the only good thing in the movie was Nicholas Tse, and I was like "who's he?" :phew: Okey, betraying my ignorance there more than anything and am certain that isn't going to sit well with his fans, but really, how can there be a need for other reasons than dong gun being in it?! :lol:
